TawagAwit Artists in OG Two music acts who are members of TawagAwit will take the centre stage on December 19 during OG: Open Gathering in the Social Hall of Good Shepherd Parish, Balmoral, Auckland. TBB and JUNZ will perform songs in the advanced birthday celebration of baby Jesus. TBB. The all-brothers band, TBB, accompanies the TawagAwit-St Thomas More Chapter in its missal offerings once every two months in the parish. Consisting of Justine (guitar), Jason (vocals) and Eric (keyboards/bass), TBB (which stands for “The Borgueta Brothers”) has performed in most of the events organized by TawagAwit, as well as, other social functions. While TBB does covers of popular hits, it has also churned out a few original compositions offered in the masses. One of the band’s most memorable performances was during the 25th wedding anniversary of their parents, Noel and Gladys, when the brothers were joined by friends, singing their parents’ favourite love songs.
JUNZ. The artist known as JUNZ is one of the most consistent performer in OG: Open Gathering, always being the first to commit to perform in the annual event, now on its fourth outing. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, JUNZ delivers each of the songs he sings with emotion much like X Factor Australia winner Altiyan Childs who is a look-alike. And he delivers witty spills in between songs. A member of TawagAwit-St Thomas More chapter, JUNZ has performed in many social functions including activities organized by AKLnzPINOYS.

BRO MEL B LIBRE TO SING OG ANTHEM
Inspired by the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ, Bro Mel B Libre wrote the song, Happy Birthday, Jesus, purposely as the anthem of the first Open Gathering in December 2007 held in St Mary’s Parish, Northcote. Since a birthday is never complete without a cake, Bro Mel sought a volunteer to bake a special cake as a fitting gift to the baby Jesus. As the children brought the cake to a projected image of Jesus, Bro Mel sang the birthday song, and it has been a tradition for the past three years and on December 19, 2010, the tradition will continue.
