PERFECT 10 SPEECHES CLOSE 1ST SEM 2013 It was the best way to end Teaching Night for the first semester 2013. Three speakers delivered excellent speeches that strict evaluator Bro Jason, cst could not resist but give 10/10 rating. Sis Laura became a Certified Student Teacher (cst) having delivered Basic Speech 3 “My Favourite Saint”. She made Biblical references of the mother of Jesus from the time of the Annunciation to her son’s death on the cross. Sis Laura tied these up with her own life experiences and how Mary inspired her. Bro Albert tackled Basic Speech 2 “I Believe” in a scholarly approach, analysing important verses in the Apostles Creed. Bro Anthony made a well-polished Basic Speech 1 “I Am” with a brief background about the achievements he’d made in his younger days, and how a speech delivered by a priest led towards his present course in the university and his commitment to live a meaningful life based on the teachings of Christ. Bro Jason said that while he was generous in his evaluation, he was honestly impressed by the content and delivery of the speeches. Bro Trevor professionally managed the programme that had Bro Mel deliver two funny ‘blond’ anecdotes; Bro Sam shooting topics in Brieflynes; and Sis Isabelle quizzing teams with difficult questions in BQQ. The final Teaching Night was honoured with the presence of Bro Dennis jt who actively participated in the programme as one of the speakers in Brieflynes. Bro Sam prepared warm food for the participants who stayed on for another thirty minutes laughing and socialising. It was a perfect night. Amen. The first Teaching Night for the second semester is on Thursday 1 August 6pm. Let’s us get our mates and friends to join us. Do well in the exams and God bless.
Smilines Blonde Passenger A lawyer and a blonde are sitting next to each other on a long flight from LA to NY. The lawyer leans over to her and asks if she would like to play a fun game. The blonde just wants to take a nap, so she politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is really easy and a lot of fun. He explains" I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5, and vice-versa." Again, she politely declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer, now somewhat agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500," figuring that since she is a blonde that he will easily win the match. This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring that there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game. The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches in to her purse, pulls out a five dollar bill and hands it to the lawyer. Now, it's the blonde's turn. She asks the lawyer: "What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?" The lawyer looks at her with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references. He taps into the Air phone with his modem and searches the Net and the Library of Congress. Frustrated, he sends E-mails to all his co-workers and friends he knows. After over an hour, he wakes the blonde and hands her $500. The blonde politely takes the $500 and turns away to get back to sleep. The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, so what IS the answer!?" Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5, and goes back to sleep!
TEACHING NIGHT: GOOD NEWS. GOOD TIME. GOOD COMPANY.
