Updates on Teachers in Sandals Fellowship
23 April 2013
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS New members – Bro Sam and Bro Albert - committed themselves to actively participate in the activities of Teachers in Sandals Fellowship during Teaching Night on 18 April 2013. Bro Sam is the new Lay-Chaplain of Auckland Catholic Tertiary Chaplaincy filling the position vacated by Bro Denis. Bro Albert who hails from Indonesia joined upon the invitation of Sis Laura and in his Basic Speech 1 said that he was happy to have found a group of like-minded people who shared his faith. Sis Laura delivered Basic Speech 2 “I Believe” which she spoke passionately about. She said that she knew by heart the Apostles Creed in the Indonesian language, but had yet to memorise the English translation. She related how the creed has impacted on her life, why she is afraid of hell and on her hope of attaining salvation through Christ. Sis Olivia conducted the gathering as programme minister, with Bro Nathaniel obtaining contributions in Brieflynes on the topics, “Follow Me”; “The Boston Bombing” and “The Legalisation of Same-Sex Marriage”. Bro Trevor had his set of funny anecdotes in Smilines; while Bro Jason acted as quizmaster in BQQ. Bro Mel as evaluator commended all who contributed to the programme. He also called on members to invite their friends and mates to join Teaching Nights. Thank you Sis Laura for coordinating the activity and Sis Olivia and Bro Nathaniel for preparing the food.

Smilines\ Strong Faith A pastor and a priest were discussing who between them had a stronger faith. Pastor: If you believe in Jesus, you will drink this poison, knowing that you will not die. Priest: I have a better idea, you will drink this poison and you will die. Pastor: So how would that make you stronger in faith? Priest: I will make you resurrect.
TEACHING NIGHT: GOOD NEWS. GOOD TIME. GOOD COMPANY.
