BEAR’s creative challenge


BEAR cards Ever since we started BEAR, we’ve put collectible fact cards inside our BEAR yoyos- we launch a new set every year:

2014: Around the world with BEAR. 80 cards, each a postcard from BEAR from a different country.

2015: BEAR’s Super Species School, where Head Bear had collected a school of the world’s most incredible creatures . 105 cards to collect in total,


BEAR’s Grrreat Time Travel adventure: 2016 This year BEAR’s been on a grrreat big time travel adventure, with each card being one of his stops- we’ve got 80 cards in the grizzly past, and with 20 super special sparklies for things that clever people have predicted will be happening in the future


Pack takeover We always do a pack takeover to tell people about it, on front and pack of pack, and a special TV ad to bring the world to life for children, running on key children’s channels:


The yearbook Each year, we also do a reward mechanic- kids who collect 10 ‘bearcodes’ (barcodes from the pack) and send them in to the cave get a free collectible. In 2014 we did an around the world map as our reward, with stickers of the flags of the world to stick as they collected their cards, in 2015 we sent a school yearbook, and in 2016 we have created BEAR’s ‘pastport’ :


Underpinning everything we do: (secret) learning In the same way that we try and help kids eat healthily without it being a chore, we also try and help kids learn through everything we do, but in a non school-y way. It’s got to be fun, exciting and real.

What we’re most interested in are your ideas- we’d rather see great scamps than perfect illustrations with no idea behind them. Making sure that kids learn something is important- but it’s got to be really fun. Your audience is kids aged 4-9. Keep it simple- we’re a really simple brand, and the idea needs to be easy to explain. Keep it bold & brave.
