PROJECT RESEARCH CONCEPT: Positive packaging for a skin camouflage company in collaboration with a skin condition charity PROBLEMS I HIGHLIGHTED: - Mental well being and confidence in appearance is something many people with skin conditions struggle with - Current products catering to these conditions are medical and bland looking - Cover up creams are often seen as shameful and ‘fake’ as a way of concealing a persons identity
INSPIRATION:
TO SOLVE THIS, I WILL: - Focus on creating a fun, vibrant, packaging to be used on the Veil cover up cream range, in collaboration with the Changing Faces charity - Draw inspiration from the beautiful shapes and forms of rosacea, vitiligo and psoriasis to make strong, empowering pattern based illustrations - Create illustrations which are transferable to other promotional goods, which may be sold to raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of the conditions I WILL AIM TO COMMUNICATE: - That having one of these conditions is not a bad thing, and that they are beautiful expressions on the skin - The celebration and embracing of these conditions in a humorous and empowering way - That the use of cover up creams is just like using regular make-up, a choice some make, but not a necessity for all - The facts and important issues surrounding the conditions TO AN AUDIENCE OF: - People who suffer from these conditions and may want to use cover up creams, predominantly women, of all ages - The general public who may not know much about the conditions or what they mean to people who have them - People who suffer skin conditions and have negative thoughts about their appearance due to it
