THE INSIGHT Many community improvement projects have failed to deliver the correct service to address social needs because the solutions are standardized and built around outsiders’ flawed understandings of the issues.
THE BIG IDEA What if...we created an online platform for crowd-sourced solutions based on problems from the locals in under-served areas?
A social network Simple and easy to use platform where millennials from around the world can collaborate on one problem until it is solved.
Corporate Social Responsibility A solved problem is then sold to a business that will implement the solution.
HOW IT WORKS:
Socially conscious students with local community organizations to learn firsthand the problems and the unique components of them.
Students submit problem proposals to be reviewed by Minds Over Matter (MOM). All proposed problems are organized by #hashtag and the popular ones show up on the main webpage. The ones being discussed the most are bigger circles.

Millennials are encouraged to participate by “upvoting” different solutions, proposing their own or poking holes in solutions until the problem is fixed. The critiques appear as rectangles until they are solved. The popular solutions are bigger circles.

Collaboration is key. People from all over the world can offer solutions and give insight. The barrier of communication is removed. Individualized solutions for individualized problems.
A woman in Portland can offer her insight to a solution happening in Prague.
Outreach will occur through chapters on universities. Promotion will be social media spotlights on problems and solutions, videos of solutions being implemented, and media mentions on media consumed by millennials.
When a solution is finalized, it is reviewed by MOM & sold to socially responsible businesses.
