By Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd The Nair Service Society (NSS) is supporting the most destructive antiwomen Anti-Shudra Manuvadam in the name of Shabarimala temple’s sanctity . The Nair men for centuries surrendered the Nair women’s self respect to the Brahmin males in worst Manuvadi system called Sambandam. The Brahmin men exploited the Nair women worse than the slave masters exploited the African American women for centuries. The Brahmin men procreated children in Sambandam and left them to the fate of their own. The Nairs though are considered to be Savarna in the Kerala society but they do not have any spiritual rights within the temple system. They are the forth Varna Sikh Virsa, Calgary
called Shudra, who were slaves for long time in history, from the days of Rigveda. They cannot become priests and they cannot interpret the Hindu scriptures called Vedas and Bhagvad Gita. There are no Hindu theological schools, colleges that allow Nairs to study theology, leave alone the lower Shudras (who consider themselves as Avarnas in the Kerala contest). Yet Nairs particularly Nair men after establishing the Nair Service Societyn (NSS) remain so backward that they almost live at the feet of Brahmins as spiritual slaves. Such tendency of the Shudras has done great damage to the Shudra social and spiritual culture of equality. This spiritual slavery of the NSS has come out very clearly on the event of Ayyappa temple entry for 162.
women. Ayyappa is a Shudra God like Beerappa of two Telugu states. Both Ayyappa and Beerappa have the IndoAfrican roots and they are the descendants of the famous Harappa in whose name the first city of the world was built in the Indus basin. After the Aryan migrants of the Brahmin ancestry invaded India and destroyed that civilization several of Harappa’s descendants migrated to the South. Ayyappa, Beerappa (the shepherd God of Telugu region) and many others who bear such names like Veerappa, Mallappa and so on must have migrated to the South and have done great service to society. Hence they became Godheads. Thus, Ayyappa in his black dress represents the Shudra-Dravidian culture November, 2018
SUPER VISA/BLUE CROSS : 403-681-8689 which has its roots in the Indo-African heritage as against the Indo-Aryan Brahminic Vedic safron dess code. There is no saffron dress code there. Ayyappa like Sirdi Saibaba has become a secular Shudra God to whom mostly only the Shudra-Dalit devotees in black dress visit. The Anti-women code of this Ayyappa God was imposed by the Namdoodiri Brahmins only in the recent years when they took over the temple priesthood as it was mobilizing huge finances. The Nair men are involved only in the temple management committee. The real pooja work is done by the Brahmin priests and they are the ones who wrote this code that women between 10 and 50 should not enter the temple. In fact the Brahmin priests should be expelled from there and only the Shudras should perform the priesthood functions. No Shudra temple in the country has such norm that women should not enter. In fact many Shudra goddesses like Pochamma, Kali, Durga never follow man -woman difference norms. All kinds of people visit these temples and Brahmins were never poojaris in those temples. After the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) got strengthened, as it is a Brahmin headed organization, they started imposing Brahmin priests by displacing the Shudra priests in many Shudra temples. The Ayyappa temple is a classic example, how Brahmins took over this temple and women were denied of the right to enter with a theory that menstruation blood is pollution.
Sikh Virsa, Calgary
They do not consider male sexual discharges as pollution. This is mainly Brahmin theory. This was never a Shudra theory. The Shudra culture of India, which is the culture of majority people, does not believe in this theory of sexual discharge of female or male being spiritually pollutant. All productive communities world over, never believed this kind of anti-production and procreational theories. The Shudra belief is that female and male sexual discharges are source of human birth. They are never the source of human death. Thus, woman’s menstrual blood is seen as sacred and source of human regeneration. The Aryan Brahminism, which never involved in production believed that all production work is pollution. They never realized that ‘without mud there cannot be food’. Food is produced only out of mud. Hence mud is not Anti-God as God himself/ herself gets involved in all forms of production. Today Mohan Bhagwat, the head priest from Nagpur, declared a war on the Supreme Court judgment of man-woman equality at Hindu temples. They actually want that at all temples such restriction on women’s entry should be imposed. A Shudra productive community like Nair community joining hands with RSS Brahminism has caused historical damage to the Shudra values of India that were nurtured as egalitarian values from the days of Harappa. The equality battle at Ayyappa

temple is going to be a battle between Shudraism and Brahminism. The Shudras of India including Kammas, Reddys, Patels, Jats, Gujjars, Yadavs, Marathas, Kumbhis, Kurmis (of Bihar), Lingayats, Vakkalingas, Modaliyars, Nayakars and so on along with other OBCs must oppose the Brahmin conspiracy of taking back our women to pre-Independence status. All the OBCs in the reserved category must understand the conspiracy of these Brahmin-Bania forces from Delhi to Galli. They want to create conditions against equality which slowly will lead to taking away reservations. Mohan Bhagwath is driving the country to see that all the Shudras/OBCs/ Dalits/Adivasis do not even think about equality in future. The progressive Nairs, wherever they are, must force the leadership of the NSS to get out of this Brahmin trap. Otherwise the poor agrarian productive Nairs will suffer hugely in future. Particularly the Nair women must be saved from the danger of getting destroyed . The Army of Mohan Bhagawat will drive them to suicidal mode once they believe that their own bodies are full of pollution. I call upon the progressive Nair women to save that great community women for whom I have great respect as they suffered more than any other Shudra women in Indian history. Prof. Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd is Chairman T-MASS and political theorist. (The End)

by Daniel Pel “Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.” – Flavia Weedn It was one of those moments. Malik from Somalia introduced himself to me as he walked into the hall where we were getting ready for a healthy cooking class that evening. The students, organizing the local community event, were in full swing, but I had time to talk and so I sat down with Malik. It was not a standard introduction like “Hi I’m John, and I am an accountant”. Instead his words left me overwhelmed: “My name is Malik. I am from Somalia and am a refugee on the move for the last 15 years.” Yes, you read it correctly. 15 years! Malik was a few years younger than me, in his late twenties. He had left Somalia with his father at a young age, due to the ongoing tensions and instability of the country. They fled to the neighboring country only to be rejected and sent to a refugee camp, where guerilla soldiers would come and recruit children to fight for them. Malik decided to flee and started a journey that he never knew would span the next 15 years of his life, eventually bringing him to Germany. As the evening went by, the story unfolded. From Somalia he had fled to Yemen, travelling through the desert of Saudi Arabia on a cattle train, he made his way to Syria. From Syria he made his way through Turkey and eventually crossed the Aegean sea with a group of people, Sikh Virsa, Calgary
like him, searching for a better future. Not everyone found it. The boat sank and a number of people died. The Greece coast guard eventually pulled Malik out of the water. Like you, I have read the reports on the news. Attempts are made by African refugees to get to Europe this way. And yet hearing the story told by someone you are now actually connected with, multiplies the enormity of it all. Life in Greece was not easy. There is a huge difference between being a tourist or a refugee in Greece. Malik stayed in Greece for a while, learnt the language, got married, and had a daughter. But the

journey was not over. Things got very tough and they decided to move on. This time the journey was much by foot. As a family they made their way to Romania. They used their last money to pay someone to guide them across the border by night. The person suddenly left them and they had no idea where they were. A taxi driver spotted them and offered to drive them to a nearby city in exchange for the ring on Malik’s wife’s finger. Homeless, without money or possessions, Malik and his family were put in a refugee home. To pay for their stay Malik told me he was forced to beg since he had no permission to work. One day, as he was out begging, a Turkish businessman approached him. After hearing his story, he took Malik to a bus station where he purchased three tickets from Romania to Germany. That same night they left. Arriving in one of the bigger cities of Germany by evening, Malik and his family spent the night at the train station. The next morning he asked some people for help and was directed to an evangelical church in the area. The church provided help and connected them with the officials. Not long afterwards they were given a home and life seemed to at last settle down. Their case is still pending and it is uncertain if they can stay in Germany. In the meanwhile Malik is learning German and his daughter is going to school. While he is not allowed to officially work, due to his refugee status, he decided to
November, 2018
SUPER VISA/BLUE CROSS : 403-681-8689 be a volunteer worker at a local retirement home. With a smile he told me that he loves to help other people. Through all the pain and uncertainty Malik has decided to not loose hope. For 15 years he had been homeless, and at certain times almost hopeless. Yet there was something that kept him going. Or more correctly – Someone – that kept him going. I will be the first to admit that I find it hard to understand why all this heartache and tragedy seems to be heaped upon one family like this. I know it’s the result of a broken and fractured world that we live in. I know a great controversy is raging between good and evil and that we are caught in the crossfire. I know the origin of evil began with Lucifer, and that the Bible plainly teaches that one day this being will be destroyed. Death, sorrow, and pain will be no more. I know the book of Revelation ends with the promise that God Himself will wipe away every tear. Without these revelations and promises, found in Scripture, I would not know what to make out of Malik’s story. Yet sin with all its devastating results cannot be fully explained, or else it could be excused. We all to a certain extent taste the bitter results of a planet in rebellion. Some of us more than others. The question is: What do we do with our pain? Malik’s story reminds me of another story that took place a long time ago. The first book in the Bible records the life of Joseph, who was sold as a slave by his own brothers. He was taken to Egypt and worked his way up only to be falsely accused and cast into prison. All odds seemed against him, but he refused to be hopeless. If you have not read the story for a while, you need to go back and read it. Joseph eventually, through a train a miraculous divine interventions, becomes the second in command of all of Egypt. Talking about a turn in the story! To top it off he meets his brothers who come to Egypt for food, due to a great famine. They bow before him, not knowing who he is. He tests his brothers and finds out their hearts have been softened. At last Joseph reveals who he is and his brothers are utterly dismayed. He then says to them: “But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you Sikh Virsa, Calgary
to preserve life.” (Gen 45:5) Egypt became the place of refuge for Joseph’s family. Later Joseph said to his brothers: “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Gen 50:20). Its often the end of a story the defines a story! Joseph remained hopeful to the point that he could see God’s overarching plan in the midst of his own life beset with difficulties. He already believed what the apostle Paul would pen down hundreds of years later and what we know as Romans 8:28 – “All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” It is more than just a naïve saying. The effects of a broken world can either break us or shape us. Joseph and Malik decided for the second. Oh, and there is another story. This one makes the other two shrink in comparison. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane fell to the ground sweating blood as the sins of the entire world were placed upon him. He bore all the pain, including that of Joseph, Malik, you and me. The Devil sought to crush his life and finally, hanging on the cross, Jesus cried out: “It 165.
is finished!” Just as the enemy bore his chest thinking the victory was his, he received the deathblow of defeat, which must have been his ultimate frustration. He meant the death of Jesus for evil, but God meant it for good. Jesus was separated from His Father so you and I would never have to be. Reconciliation was made. Victory was one. Sin was defeated in Him! Yes, the war has continued, but the outcome is secured. The tomb is empty. Jesus has risen. This can define the end of your story as a great one! It is up to us to believe and embrace this story. To make it ours. I am sure your life has some bumpy chapters and surely there are more to come. The enemy of souls loves to see suffering increase in our lives. He certainly rejoiced to see Malik homeless, but heaven rejoiced to see that Malik was not hopeless. In the end heaven wins! Because hope remains. May this be our story! “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23) I pray that Malik will find a dwelling place on this earth. More than that, I pray he will one day enter the mansion God is preparing for him. His story has found a place in my heart and I pray it has in yours also. (The End) November, 2018
Buy/Sell/Lease, Any kind of Real Estate : 403-681-8689 Written by Nirmala on 07 January 2007. (Note: This article is translated into Polish here.) Spiritual teachings suggest that there is no doer, that there is no separate self that is the source of our actions. This teaching often causes a lot of confusion, as it is contrary to our experience. It seems that there is a doer and that I am the doer: I get up in the morning, I walk the dog, and I drive to work. How do these things happen if there is no doer? And if there is no doer, then what do I do? How do I live my life if there is no one here to live it? What do I do if there is no doer? This confusion exists because spiritual teachings point to something that doesn’t exist in the usual way. The nature of reality can’t be described or explained with words, and it can’t be experienced through the ordinary senses. In speaking about something that can’t be spoken about, the easiest approach is often to use negation. If you can’t speak directly about something, then you’re left with saying what it is not. So spiritual teachings contain a lot of negation: There is no self. There is no doer. The world is an illusion. Not this. Not that. Negation can be effective in pointing us away from illusions, such as the idea of me, and other false and mistaken ideas. If you take a moment to look for yourself, you discover that there is no individual self, only an idea of a self. The “I” is just an idea. So in this sense, it is accurate to say that there is no self and no doer. However, the mind can’t conceive of or even really experience nothing. If you are experiencing something, then that is by definition not nothing. So when the mind is pointed to Sikh Virsa, Calgary
nothing or to the absence of a self or a doer, it makes a picture or concept of nothing and thinks about that. If we are told there is no doer, the mind makes a picture of the absence of somebody, something like an empty chair or a broom sweeping by itself. Again, this contradicts our actual experience: There is something in the chair when I sit down in it. The broom only sweeps when I pick it up and start sweeping. So there is obviously a distortion or inaccuracy in the approach of negation. While negation does evoke a certain experience of emptiness that can be spacious and restful, it doesn’t capture the totality of reality. It leaves out our actual experience of the real world. Another approach is the opposite: Instead of saying there is no self, there is no world, and there is no doer, we can say there is only Self, the world is all one thing, and it is this totality of existence that does everything. In other words, everything sweeps the floor and sits in the chair. If we
look deeply into our experience, we can see that there is some truth to this perspective. If we trace back all of the causes of any action, we see that there are an infinite number of influences or causes for the simplest action. For example, you may sweep the floor because your mother taught you to keep a spotless house and your dad taught you to be responsible, not to mention all the other messages you received from the culture and society about cleanliness and responsibility. Add to that all the people that influenced your mom and dad and everyone else who ever had an impact on you. And what about all the factors that led to the particular path of evolution that gave you those opposable thumbs that allow you to use a broom? If you include all the factors at play when you pick up a broom and sweep, you can see how it might make sense to say that everyone and everything is sweeping the floor. There is a doer, but it isn’t you; it is everything. And by the way, all of these factors are at work if
166.
you don’t sweep the floor. Not doing something is just another thing we do. This approach of including more and more instead of negating everything is also a useful teaching tool. It evokes a sense of the oneness and richness of life. But again, it doesn’t capture the actual experience of an action like sweeping. If only everything would sweep my floor, then I could go take a nap. Speaking about everything as the doer of everything that is done also doesn’t capture the sense of no self that is experienced when we look within using spiritual practices such as self-inquiry. So if it isn’t complete to say that there is no doer, and if it isn’t complete to say that everything is the doer, what’s wrong with just saying that I sweep the floor, and be done with it? For purely practical purposes, saying “I” do something is enough. But as already noted, saying “I” leaves out the many rich and complex causes of our actions, and it leaves out the absence of a November, 2018
SUPER VISA/BLUE CROSS : 403-681-8689 separate self that we discover when we look within. It also doesn’t suggest that there’s more to this reality than meets the eye. So we are left with a dilemma: It’s incomplete to say that there is no doer, it’s incomplete to say that everything is the doer, and it’s incomplete to say that I am the doer. It’s like a multiple choice test where all of the answers are wrong! Yet, what is it like to not have an answer? What’s it like to hold the question even when you’ve exhausted all of the possible answers? The question of what is going on here, what is this experience of doing, can be a rich experience in and of itself. Such a question can put us more in touch with our experience than any answer can. The question invites a direct sensing of the various levels of our experience. As the broom moves across the floor, is it
possible to simultaneously experience the emptiness within, the richness of the oneness of all things, and the personal actions of our particular body? Why do we have to choose one? And what about the original question, “What do I do?” Could this also be a rich opportunity to explore all the dimensions of existence? Why does there have to be a right answer? Can the question, itself, evoke a deeper sensing of life and an endless willingness to question again and again? What do I do now? And what about now? The gift may be in the question itself, not in some final answer. Life is unfolding in ever new and different ways, so maybe only in each new moment can we discover what the everything and nothing that we are is going to do next. There is an assumption that spiritual teachings are
supposed to bring us spiritual answers, that we are supposed to finally get somewhere. But what if the point of this spiritual journey is the journey itself? What if the answers are true and relevant when they arise, but they become irrelevant in the next breath? So perhaps the question of what to do isn’t meant to ever be done with or fully answered. Letting go of the idea of a right or final answer can make the question come alive in this very moment. What are you doing right now? What is most true to do now? And then, what about now? It’s always time to ask again because it’s always a new now. Just for this moment, find out what happens if you just allow yourself to not know what the right thing to do is, who would do it, and even if there is anything to do, or if doing even really happens. When you question that deeply, is there
more or less of a compulsion to act in unhealthy or ignorant ways? Or is there a natural curiosity and sense of wonder that arises and puts you very much in touch with all of the mysterious elements that make up this particular moment? Does this curiosity lead you to rash and silly decisions, or does it allow impulses and intuitions to arise from a deeper place within your being? If you know less and less about doing, what happens next? The gift of the deepest spiritual questions arises in the day-to-day living of life. Asking, “What do I do?” can lead you on an exploration that has no boundaries, and the journey can only start here and now. What most often limits us is our conclusions. The simple antidote is to ask another question: “What do I do when there is no doer, when everything is the doer, and when it’s also up to me to do something?” (The End)
Feminists Denounce the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Traditional Balinese Ritual Bali, Indonesia: At sunset yesterday, over 50 women’s groups, grassroots communities, farmers and workers groups from across Asia gathered at the Padang Galak Beach in Bali, Indonesia to denounce the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in a sacred Balinese ritual named Tolak Bala. During the ritual, women from the communities impacted by World Bank-funded projects and IMF policies warded off evil influences caused by both institutions and invoked prayers and wishes for a better future by symbolically giving traditional offerings to the sea. Sringatin, Chairperson of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union said, “For decades World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have been Sikh Virsa, Calgary
facilitating land-grabbing, privatising public services, and imposing unregulated labour market that caused women to lose their land, suffer from unaffordable basic necessities and forced to take up precarious work.” Wardarina, Programme Officer, Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), Thailand said, “The World Bank and IMF often ignore the political, social and economic impact their policies have on peoples, especially women who are farmers, migrants, workers, urban poor and indigenous, and take away resources for social protection and services.” “Our hope is by doing this people will understand the struggles that we as women face and they will stand in solidarity with us as we fight to defend
our rights. We hope to raise awareness of our issues and of how the ‘development’ that the World Bank and IMF do is wrong and is not the kind of development that women want,” said Titi Soentoro from Aksi for Gender, Social and Ecological Justice, Indonesia and APWLD member. The Tolak Bala ceremony will be followed by a Feminist carnival on 14th October where women will present their testimonies of displacement, of land and resource grabbing and restricted access to public services in various forms such as oration, poetry reading, and art performances. The women’s groups strongly reject neoliberalism advanced by the World Bank and IMF as it has only widened inequality and caused grave

Buy/Sell/Lease, Any kind of Real Estate : 403-681-8689 by Gurpreet Singh The Nobel Peace Prize committee should immediately intervene and revoke a prestigious honour bestowed on a children’s rights activist in 2014. Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi not only attended the annual event of Hindu supremacist group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at its headquarters in Nagpur, India, but went to the extent of praising the organization. He even suggested that the RSS branches all over India could serve as a “firewall” to protect children, particularly girls. The RSS, of which the ruling right wing Hindu nationalist Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is a part, aspires to turn India into Hindu theocracy. The organization was banned in 1948 for a while following the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, a world renowned leader of the passive resistance movement. Gandhi was opposed to the religious partition of India in 1947 and was targeted for standing up against violence against Muslims by the Hindu fanatics. His assassin, Nathuram Godse, previously belonged to the RSS. Even otherwise, the RSS is known for its anti-Muslim and anti-Christian stance. Its cadres have been involved in violence not only during the partition of the country to create Pakistan, but also in post-independent India. Ironically, Satyarthi is a known Gandhian and was given Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his work to save children from exploitation. The RSS, through its drills, poisons young minds and has reportedly transported tribal girls to far away schools in order to Hinduize them. It follows the pattern of Indian residential schools in Canada, and is in complete contradiction to what Satyarthi claims to stand for. Sikh Virsa, Calgary
That Satyarthi spoke as a chief guest at the RSS event has shocked many, including myself. I, being a publisher of Radical Desi magazine, put him on the cover of the November, 2014 edition that commemorated the 30th anniversary of a massive anti-Sikh massacre. Satyarthi saved many Sikhs during the violence that followed the assassination of the then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984. The mobs, instigated by the activists of the slain leader’s Congress party, lynched innocent Sikhs with police connivance. However, the mainstream overlooked this important aspect of Satyarthi’s story and Radical Desi believed that it was necessary to amplify it so that people should know that there were many Hindus who also tried to save Sikhs from bloodshed.
Some activist friends expressed their outrage over this decision, maintaining that Satyarthi is a corporate media creation, but I defended myself by saying that the choice was made only because the Radical Desi edition was dedicated to anti-Sikh pogrom and by way of putting Satyarthi on cover, we were only trying to showcase an act of humanity and compassion in the time of crisis. Today when I look back, I feel ashamed and let down by Satyarthi, who has failed to stand up against forces of bigotry. He may have done a great job by saving the lives of Sikhs in 1984, but Muslim and Christian lives are also important. For the record, the RSS considers Sikhs as part of the Hindu fold, something strongly resisted by the Sikh activists, who maintain that RSS has an agenda to assimilate them. That the BJP-RSS

supporters were also complicit in the anti-Sikh massacre has been well documented. If Satyarthi has any shame, he must apologize for attending an event organized by those who are bent upon destroying the secular fabric of India. In the meantime, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee must take away the prize given to someone who has tried to give legitimacy to a group whose founders saw men like Hitler and Mussolini as their role models and who supported the Holocaust. Gurpreet Singh is cofounder of Radical Desi magazine. He's also the author of Why Mewa Singh Killed William Hopkinson: Revisiting the Murder of a Canadian Immigration Inspector and Fighting Hatred With Love: Voices of the Air India Victims' Families. Both were published by Chetna Parkashan. (ThE End) November, 2018

Superb Singing Surprised One & All by Jasbir (Jas) Chahal Nobody knew him. Just a moderate size singing program and now, he has become the talk of the town within a few days. Yes, I am talking about Rajbir Singh, a high caliber Ghazal singer who got such a resonance in his voice that anybody would like to hear him singing time and again. He was the star artist of “Shaam-eGhazal”, an exclusive program organized by Sarb Akal Music Society of Calgary on October 20, 2018 at COSO hall in Calgary. It will not be out of place to say that Sarb Akal was fortunate enough to find a diamond hidden from the eyes of the world as it was buried in the soil of worldly burdens. Rajbir Singh belongs to Agra gharana of Indian Classical Music and is the disciple of legendary Ustad Sohan Singh, a very well known vocalist of India. The mighty wheel of Time never allowed Rajbir to follow his passion for the music and got him trapped in an unending
trail of worldly unfortunate happenings since his youth days. But now, after many years, he is all for his passion and consequently we have a singer of high stature who is equally good as a composer too. Almost all the ghazals he sang were composed beautifully by him in various classical ragas such as Raga Hemant, Rageshwari, Darbari, Peelu, Sham Kalyan, Bageshri and Jog. Poet Jigar Jalandhari’s ghazal “Dil mera le ke mujhe aap dagah dete hain” composed by him in Raga Peelu was one of the best which just mesmerized me. It was a parexcellence presentation as powerful accompaniment by
Miss Reshma Pandit was captivating. Reshma Pandit’s magnificent accompaniment, who at her tender age of midtwenties is already a world famous Tabla player and a shining star, was much more than an icing on the cake. The ghazal renderings were catapulted to new heights with the magical dancing of Reshma’s fingers on Tabla and thus creating a heart-thumping rhythmic beat which kept the audience mystified. Nitin Atri from Edmonton was a perfect accompany artist on the Harmonium. His excellent performance was a statement to all that the youth of today can
very well excel in this kind of clean music, provided he/she gets the support of family and friends. This house full show was a validation of the fact that a neat and clean singing/music is a pure joy for everybody and a food for the soul. On repeated demands of the great audience, the show which was planned for two hours had to be continued for three hours. Shakeel Chughtai did a good job as MC for this program. The lively audience who gave a standing ovation to the artists was glad to know that these great artists will be in Calgary for a while. Reshma will be holding workshop in next few days to teach the intricacies of Tabla playing to those who really want to take their art to next level. Rajbir Singh is available at ‘Academy of Indian Classical Music’ to teach vocal music to the students of any age who show their aptitude for the same.
