2nd Skin proposed design V.1 Pins
By combining both ideas together the first proposed design revolves around the repetition of the same form. Both sketch designs were exploring the idea of using mulitple pins to create volumn around the human form. The final form is a structure that wraps around the shoulders to provide protection on the side of the head and supports the back from the base of the spine. This sketch design was used for the Rhino model.
2nd Skin proposed design V.2 Panels
This second design combines the shape and panel nature of Hac’s design and the folding of panels in Melanies. Together these create a helmet design which blocks out light but allows for some degree of transperency along one side. Light is allowed through by the bend in a panel which repeated can create a pattern up the side of the pod as can be seen by the images.
