ARCHITECTURE part II From Place to Space
101
a student’s footsteps in a 6 week MOOC
by Melinda Gyorgy
”Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light.” - Le Corbusier
About me ... Before all, I guess I can define myself as a design addict, of all its forms: objects, paper, buildings, graphics, fashion etc. ... for the pleasing of the eye and enhancement of the soul. I like to think I’m an ”almost designer”, hungry for design knowledge and sensorial fulfillment, eager to create, but lacking specialized training. This is how I stumbled upon Architecture 1o1, the MOOC operated through the iversity.org platform by a handful of dedicated and enthousiast people. Joining this course was at first an experiment, not knowing if it was really within my reach, then I got cought in the game and loved every step of it. More than a course, this is a revolution. A revolution in education.

What I’ve learned from others ... The wonderful diversity of the personalities on board of this educational journey, their endless creativity and their willingness to connect and exchange, have fuelled my ”creative engine” all over again throughout this adventure.

My Mental Space .... ... a hard thing to grasp and even harder to define. I would say, there is no one mental space, but mental spaces built with the feelings of the instant when you start picturing.

My Mental Space The main difference between a mental space and a possible world is that a mental space does not contain a faithful representation of reality, but an idealized cognitive model. - Wikipedia
