THE PASSOVER TO COME.

The Passover to Come

When the children of Israel were delivered out of Egypt, they were delivered with signs and wonders. They

kept

the

night

of

the

Passover by killing and roasting a lamb and putting the blood on the door post. They kept the Passover dressed and ready, eating the lamb in haste with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

Exodus 12:11, “And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s Passover.”

When Christ came he fulfilled the prophecy of the slain lamb. From the time of Christ’s first coming until today, we remember the death of Christ each time we have the Lord’s Supper. And we must continue to remember Christ’s death in this way until his second coming.

II Corinthians 11:24-26, “And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” We must also be prepared now. We must be dressed and ready wearing the full armor of God. Our clothes must be clean and white washed in the word of God and in the blood of Jesus. Christ warned us to watch and be vigilant because we do not know the hour of his return.

We continue to wait for the fulfillment of the promise of the Passover. We still live in spiritual Egypt, and we are burdened by a cruel Pharaoh. We mourn and cry unto the Lord for our deliverance. Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” We have suffered with the burden of sin, and the yoke of Satan. Every generation since Adam have been weighed down with the knowledge of evil in our flesh and in our minds and have suffered pain and misery until we go into the grave. We suffer not only spiritually, but by the son’s of men who are Satan’s forces on earth, his hands and tools to do evil. The Lord will deliver us from our spiritual and our physical condition, and in the end he will deliver us from the world itself.

When the Lord delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, he did it with signs and wonders. He will do it again with signs and wonders.

Devastating

plagues

will rack this earth. We are already seeing an increase in natural disasters and weather changes in our time. We know that this time now is like the days of Noah and

II Esdras 15: 10-11

“Behold my people is led as a flock to the slaughter: I will not suffer them now to dwell in the land of Egypt: But I will bring them with a mighty hand and a stretched out arm, and smite Egypt with plagues, as before, and will destroy all the land thereof.”

the time of Lot. But as in the days of Egypt when Moses showed the Egyptians the first signs and the first plagues, the people do not believe. Science is the new wise man and technology is the new magician. They do not see the hand of the Lord. But God will open their eyes and they will see when he begins to shake the earth. They will see when he shows new signs and fierce wonders that they will not be able to explain. Then men’s hearts will begin to fail. They will throw their money and riches away because it cannot save them. They will try to

hide in bunkers, safe houses and underground. Those of us who serve the Lord will rejoice. We will lift up our eyes towards heaven because we know our redemption draweth nigh. We will not fear the troubles to come. We will be sealed. We will be purged by the blood of Christ. His name will be in our foreheads and his law will be written upon our hearts. And when the destroyer comes to this earth, as at the time when he came to Egypt, he will Pass Over us! Though a thousand shall fall at our side and ten thousand at our right side, it will not come near us. But with our eyes we will see the reward of the wicked. And God will deliver us. We will pass over death, pass over sin and pass into everlasting life.
