Introduction John Everett Millais, 1st Baronet, is a pre-Raphaelite British painter with great tenderness and delicacy portrayed children born in the neighborhood where he grew up and lived, focusing on aspects of their daily lives and important events of the time. There have been many comments about his paintings and most of them talk about the sweetness of children and their relationship with their families. My choice for the paintings of the Millais helps me to remember my childhood and all the good times lived with my relatives, at school, at church and with my friends. Much of his works are kept in private collections, museums in England and cared for by very special people, some of them know of my particular interest in two works, My first Sermon and My Second Sermon, because I had moments similar to those portrayed in my childhood. The friendliness and affection of Millais enchants and awakens the aesthetic sense asleep in many people. For me, it confronts me, comforts me and always makes me happy.
