A Word From Our General Manager/COO
Dear Members, Operating the Club for over a year now with COVID-19 guidelines in place has been both eye-opening and a valuable learning experience. Despite the obstacles of navigating a safe and enjoyable experience for members, guests, and staff, we were able to be creative and implement new and innovative programming to engage and serve the membership. We have all had to adapt in ways we could never have imagined, and I truly appreciate your continued support and patience as we navigate through this pandemic. As spring approaches and Club usage begins to increase, I wanted to take this opportunity to assure you that we will continue operating with everyone’s safety as our top priority. To continue fighting the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we must stay vigilant in our sanitizing and social distancing efforts. We will continue to follow guidelines from the Governor and local Baltimore City and County Officials and modify our operations where required. As the vaccine becomes more readily available and more members are getting vaccinated, we must keep in mind that the virus is still here and highly contagious, particularly as we read about the new variants. Although the number of positive cases in Maryland is decreasing, we all must do our part and not let our guards down. Further, we recognize those members who have been vaccinated; however, we are reminding you that we are still required to abide by the mandates from the state, city, and county. We will be requiring health questionnaires for each visit to BCC. Again, we urge that all members fill out the questionnaire thoroughly and honestly and abide by all BCC COVID-19 guidelines and standards. BCC was and will continue to be a favorite and safer place for our members and staff because of these policies. Last summer, we implemented reservations for the pool area to abide by capacity restrictions and allow for social distancing and proper sanitizing of common areas, pool furniture, and accessories. The reservations system allowed us to stay organized and safe while still providing an enjoyable pool experience for the membership. With taking feedback into consideration, the pool reservation system will remain in place this season with two reservation timeslots available, 10:00am to 1:30pm and 2:00pm to 8:00pm, to allow for longer durations of stay at the pool. We are not permitted to turn the page back to normalcy; however, you will see small steps towards it. These will include amenities back on the golf courses and subtle changes in other areas of the Club that have been deemed low risk. We are looking forward to another great season at BCC and one that we expect to be incredibly busy. Positive and constructive feedback from the membership is encouraging and is what helps us stay innovative and noted as one of the top clubs in the country. Thank you for your understanding and support, and know that my door is always open should you have any questions or concerns. ◆ Sincerely,
M. Kent Johnson, CCM General Manager/COO
