Starting HEALTHY HABITS in 2021!

Are you ready for a fresh start this year? Your BCC Fitness and Wellness Team sure is! Here are some tips to ensure 2021 is the

year you meet your health goals. ◆

WELLNESS TIP From Therapeutic Yoga Instructor Rebecca Printen The most effective way to start a new habit is to replace an old one, so try using yoga as a stand in for one you would like to quit. Rather than “doom scrolling” first thing in the morning, try a 10-minute easy yoga routine. Studies show daily or even weekly yoga sessions boost mood and ease mental stress. If you are like most people who are feeling stressed right now, try this new habit. It will help support you in the upcoming winter months. Try an Alignment Yoga class with Rebecca Printen, registered yoga therapist. Virtual private or duet sessions are available through Zoom. For more information, contact Rebecca Printen at rprinten@bcc1898.com

HEALTH TIP from Health & Life Coach Vanessa O’Brey When you are on a journey to improve your health and wellness, it can be difficult to stick to healthy habits. A health coach can help make it easier for you to commit to one’s healthier choices without sacrificing.

To kick off 2021 right, here are helpful tips to help you stay on track with your nutrition as you approach the new year:

Drink Water Proper Meal Planning Watch Your Portions Chew Slowly

Exercise/Move More Drink in Moderation Be Kind to Yourself

INTRO TO AYURVEDA WORKSHOP with BCC Yoga Therapist/Instructor Rebecca Printen Sunday, January 17 | 1:00pm-2:30pm | Zoom (Virtual)

WHAT IS AYURVEDA?

Ayurveda means “The Science of Life,” and is known as the sister science to yoga. It’s one of the oldest holistic healing systems based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between mind, body, and spirit. The main goal is to promote health through understanding we are all born with all the elements of nature: earth, fire, water, air, and space. Understanding how to balance these elements through nutrition, movement, and lifestyle, helps us learn self-care.

In this workshop:

• Learn the basic principles of Ayurveda; take a mind and body quiz • Learn how to take care of yourself with a new perspective and understanding

Investment: $40 per person

Minimum 5 participants; maximum 10 participants Pre-registration is required via the Fitness Calendar (BCC website) or the Calendar (BCC mobile app)
