GREENFOLDER STORIES

What sets Baltimore Country Club apart from other country clubs? Our people! Our staff members take every step to go above and beyond to accomplish our Simple Truth: Great People Make Favorite Places. Often, there are easy ways to make a positive impression on our members from saying happy birthday to congratulations on an award. However, not being afraid to make the big gestures is what distinguishes us.

We love sharing these stories of the Simple Truth! Submit your Simple Truth experience by filling out the Green Folder Stories form, located at the bottom of the Park & Farms email, in Park & Farms, the staff webpage, or scan the QR codes in the staff breakrooms. BCC encourages all members to submit their own or fellow staff members’ Green Folder Stories.

HOW TO MAKE GAZPACHO

Gazpacho is a soup made for the summer season, chilled, savory, or even sweet! If gazpacho has been an intimidating dish in the kitchen, this is the class for you. Unlike some other soup recipes, gazpacho comes together relatively fast. This is the go-to soup when you are looking for that burst of freshness, as they typically use the freshest of ingredients and aromatics. A man that has made too many soups to count, Joseph Gerst, will be walking us through the process of putting together a deliciously chilled recipe.

COOKING 101: CHINESE NEW YEAR DUMPLINGS

To help celebrate the year of the dragon at BCC, we have our Events Manager Caroline Pogust, teaching us the art of making a dumpling. Caroline is half Chinese; her family hails from Hong Kong and Shanghai. Growing up, her grandmother was the one who first taught her the craft. She fondly remembers the big batches her grandmother would make, always reaching for a hot dumpling for a snack as opposed to a bag of chips. Now, she makes them with her mom and sister, even her niece and nephew, when they are in the country.

BEGINNER’S SPANISH

Learning another language is a valuable skill set for a plethora of reasons. Not only does it show that you are dynamic, teachable, and dedicated, it allows you to interact and converse with the people you work alongside on a deeper level. With that sentiment in mind, our Horticulturist Irene Casarez, has curated the perfect introductory class. To emphasize workplace camaraderie, she is going to be teaching phrases that are the most relevant for what we would utilize day-to-day. This includes phrases like, “How are you?”, “Good morning/afternoon/night!”, “Do you need help?”, and a few more. There will even be a cheat sheet to take home, making practice that much easier!

Can’t wait until next year!”
