Type: Individual work Function: Public bathhouse Location: Bootle, Merseyside, UK This design project was undertaken in the context of 'housing the ritual activity of bathing'. In its specific context, its relationship to and enclosure of the public realm is explored; Bootle was once a seaside resort and the city had many public baths, which many people have fond memories of as they did not have bathrooms in their homes in the past. Nowadays, due to the failure of the industrial revolution, Bootle has lost its appeal and jobs have been reduced, with a domino effect on buildings, houses, and the community. The atmosphere in the whole community is depressed. This project hopes to add a touch of vibrancy to the community and bring the residents back to the feeling of bathing, where people can let go of the stressful things in their lives for a while and feel the joy and peace of bathing. Ancient Egyptians placed importancehigh on the rituals of washing, bathing, and applying cosmetics, as it was believed that the cleaner and well-oiled the person was, the closer they were to the gods. Gymnasiums had to provide athletes with a place to bathe after their exer cises, so showers and indoor plumbing appeared in gymnasiums first. Public bathhouses carried on as centers of socialization and relaxation. bathhousesSomegained a reputation for being similar to brothels.

Bathing has developed over thousands of years from ancient times to the present day, with different countries having different bathing cultures. For thousands of years, it has been a common ritual - a way of building community and relationships. Today, we see bathing as a private affair and a long soak in the bath is the perfect way to end the day and bring people into a state of great relaxation.

The whole site is covered with green grass and surrounded by trees. To the north is the Safe Regeneration, and to the south, the site is bordered by a canal. Wood is used as the main material throughout the building to seek maximum naturalization and to provide a sense of tranquility and warmth. The maximum height of the building is not more than 7.2 meters, in order not to block the light from the northern building, and to better integrate the whole site.

The roof of each block adopts the design of roof greening and solar panels, which can not only save energy to meet the current "fragile" environment but also "invisible" the whole building block on the green space of the site so that the building skillfully integrates the site and nature. Large openings facing the canal and woods bring a sense of the natural environment into the interior, where the interior is integrated with the exterior of the building through a large glass door. The roof terrace is also dedicated to providing a sense of connection with the natural environment.

As the main function of the building requires a large amount of water, green roofs are installed above the different blocks to purify, recycle and utilize rainwater.

I'm going to the sauna. Sara and Alex are down there. OK, I'll go and talk to them about what happened last night.

The public bathrooms are located on the ground floor and the entire block is 9.5 m high, with a large opening at the top and a glazed enclosure at ground level to provide maximum daylight. As communal bathrooms require a space for communication and exchange, the use of large areas of glass is also intended to allow people to observe the activities inside. The main atmosphere created is one of openness and brightness. Huge central opening

Type: Individual work Function: Music Lab Location: Birkenhead, Merseyside, UK For thousands of years, music has brought humanity together in serious religious rituals and wild parties. This versatility of music's ability to transcend nations and connect strangers is what makes it so profound. Music can cross continents and break down barriers. As an emotional enhancer, it can move us to tears or lift our spirits, bringing happiness and joy. The project was to create a small community building for the client's Liverpool Music Lab, creating a musical space of mutual understanding and support. The lab is not a professional group. They simply enjoy creating and learning music together and the joy that comes with it. It is a place where people can simply enjoy a free musical atmosphere, regardless of musical genre, where music truly comes first.

Most residential areas are located one block away from the site Birkenhead is located along the south bank of the River Mersey, opposite Liverpool. Influenced by Liverpool's rock music scene, the city is full of music, with various music schools, record shops, and live houses throughout the city. The project is to design a music laboratory in the city, which will allow all kinds of people to participate in the world of music.

Type: Individual work Function: Community Center Location: Colwick, Nottinghamshire, UK Colwick Country Park is very scenic and residents often go for walks around the lake. It is also frequented by visitors for picnics and barbecues and the area is full of wildlife. The site is surrounded by a good ecological environment. However, most of the surrounding houses are designed with little connection to the natural environment. The project aims to provide a recreational community center for the local village, where residents and visitors can relax and communicate. A community center that is in tune with nature in an ecologically sound environment. The relationship between people and the natural environment is continually explored and a closer link is established between the two.

The site is heavily wooded and well-vegetated. Adjacent to the main arterial road to the north and through a densely wooded area to the south is a large lake and to the east is a grassy area with open views. A small children's playground is located on the south-eastern corner edge. To the north-east is a parking area. The entire range can be outlined as a triangular area. The blocks have also been placed according to this triangle, forming an oval. The main entrance is set nearest to the main road and at a point where two paths cross. However, the whole building is not closed off and people can enter the site from anywhere. There is a skate park on the south-east side at the edge of the grass.

The park is beautiful, clean, and spacious, with a high number of visitors, making it a safe haven for wildlife.

The design is based on freshness and nature, using elements of woods to create a space that is relaxing and enjoyable. The main idea was to create a sense of lightness and a feeling of being in nature, so the glass was used for the walls and roofing materials of most of the blocks, which extends the interior space to some extent and blurs the boundary between inside and outside. The large transparent areas on some of the roofs allow the green shade of the trees and the blue sky to penetrate the building. The oval shape of the canvas is a simplification of the tree canopy, and each awning, large or small, is irregularly interspersed around blocks, but not completely over it so that the sunlight can irregularly penetrate the roof and hit the interior of the building. The overall lightness of the building gives the impression that it is part of nature, allowing people to experience a different kind of tranquillity amidst the woods and meadows, the chirping of birds and insects, and the feeling of being away from the dust and embracing nature.

The rainwater flowing through the sloping roof into the columns and on to the main storage area. The wide awning structure covers part of each block, so people can rest in the shade from the sun and rain.

The models are laser cut, engraved and 3D printed, and then hand-applied. Three materials were used: birch plywood, acrylic, and resin. Birch plywood was used for the concrete walls and floor, acrylic for the glass, and resin for the awning above the block. Model making

Type: Individual work Function: Kindergarten Location: Liverpool, Merseyside, UK At an early age, children generally learn through play, busy embracing everything with interest, exploring their surroundings, pushing boundaries, and immersing themselves in whatever they find interesting. In this instinctive and enjoyable process, they do not see failure as a negative, but simply as a sign of progress. In the Forest Kindergarten, the forest is the teacher, nature is the teacher, the forest logs, the stones are the desks and chairs, the 'teacher' is simply responsible for looking after and guiding, and the children are the masters of learning, developing physically and mentally through play. The project takes Ella Flatau's proposed forest school as a backdrop to blur the boundaries between nature and architecture and further explore the connection between children, architecture, and nature.

view and three entrances, the western entrance is adjacent to the main street and can bring in a lot of people. The northern entrance is also located on a secondary road. The entire site is covered in green grass and surrounded by trees. Although there is a railway adjacent to the east side, a large number of trees are also located on the east side, which provides good noise insulation. To the south the site is bordered by a canal. From the site section, the overall building height of the site is between one and three storeys, so the height of the building design should not be too high for the integration of the site, so the design process should take into account not to affect the lighting of the buildings on the north side.

An small atrium has been created between the two building volumes, which not only separates the functions but also responds to the ecological design. The creation of the atrium also creates an ecological design with four main aspects in mind: the placement of trees in the atrium provides sufficient oxygen and creates a local microclimate, the natural circulation of air creates natural ventilation and the design of a rainwater recycling system on the terrace saves resources.

Ultimately I wanted to create an architectural and interior environment that is relaxed, comfortable and close to nature, while being a medium for human interaction with nature, helping the elderly to live out their old age in a relaxed environment and atmosphere. And to provide a place of emotional, social and practical support for the elderly residents. It feels like a home that is open to all, where qualified professionals are available to help people, and a place to meet others, explore a quiet sheltered space or enjoy a cup of tea.

During this period, roads were added and buildings were reorganized. The function of the minor architecture under study has changed, for example, the close has changed from its former residential character to the present corridor between the two roads, and the court has become a dispensable space or a place for sightseeing with some monumental significance.

Keep the aspidistra flying

In terms of how we linked aspidistra and minor architecture, It is understood in two dimensions, vertical and horizontal. Firstly, we start to understand the historical development for the map of the area, and we imagined the whole historical development as the growth of aspidistra, taking the map of 1742 as a root, the whole area was constantly innovating and evolving, eventually becoming what it is now.

Firstly, In appearance, the aspidistra develops in a similar form to the development of close and court in Royal mile street. As you see the shape and the flower of the aspidistra, close represents the rhizome part of the plant and Court is similar to the flower and fruit of the Theaspidistra.second

reason is that the meaning of the aspidistra represents the middle class in society. George Orwell wrote a book call Keep the Aspidistra Flying, in this book, he use aspidistra to represent the middle class, because this kind of plant can be easily to maintain in house without spending too much money on taking care of the plant. Therefore, aspidistra can be easily to found in most middle class family’s house. This plant is easy to live with and is not the most special one of plants, its presence like the middle class in society is, they may not always contribute to the society directly, but it is very important to society and cannot be replace or vanish in the society. This is the same as the significance of minor architecture in all urban architecture, which is indispensable part for the development of the city and the development of major architecture.

The final reason is relate to its growth habit. The aspidistra likes the warm, humid, semishady environment and is relatively hardy and extremely shade tolerant. This is similar to the position of most minor architecture in the city. The close, for example, is usually lined with tall buildings and has narrow passageways, and the close is usually damp and shady. Also the court are always surround by the tall building as well.

Firstly, we did some analysis of aspidistra. Aspidistra is a perennial herbaceous plant growing from rhizomes. Its leaves arise directly from the rhizome. Each leaf has a long stalk and a blade with veins. The flowering stem is short so the flowers appear low down among the leaves. The main street -close-court-close-lower street is like the form of roots-flowers-stems-leaves of aspidistra, presenting a natural growth form. Through the section of the flower, we can think of the court space as a flower containing seeds, a space we want to reactivate. The form of stigma spreading outward, like the vitality and hope brought by seeds, makes it full of vitality. By studying spaces in the city that are not valued today (and which may have been historically used for functions such as the role of Edinburgh's close in history). Classify them and let them be used again in the city and form a certain system to promote the development of Edinburgh's infrastructure and stimulate the city's vitality.

Minor space and minor architecture

Minor spaces in the city are common but under-appreciated and rarely noticed. But these minor spaces play an impor tant role in the city, either as spaces that people use in their daily lives or as places of historical significance that have been overlooked over time and as the city has grown. We believe that the minor spaces in the Royal Mile are the Close and the Court, which are narrow and small and have historical importance as a means of defence for the castle. In addition, a number of historical figures have lived here. Therefore, the project uses the fragments of the minor space of Close and Court as a way of thinking about the form, growth process and meaning of the leaf orchid as an inspiration, using the minor space to remanage and revitalise the ecosystem of the city, to flourish Caledonia Forest and to promote the development of the city in all aspects.

Type 2 Connecting the two buildings and replacing some of the original building functions.

Type 1 Insertion into the interior of a building, re placing part of the original building function.

The new building has four connections to the original building. The new building acts as a parasitic building, attaching itself to the old building and changing some or even all of its functions. By adding and changing the space of the building as a way of enlivening the minor space, the space of the old building could be reused in a way that it was not used properly. The four types of connections can be used in any minor space in the city, allowing for flexibility between FABB systems.

Within this community, residents will be given a space to relax in the slow flow of time. This space can be managed and maintained on a basic basis by the residents of the community in which it is located, while the residents of that community will also be given free access to the growing area and the minor architecture. The site attracts residents with an interest in agriculture, housewives and elderly people who live in the neighbourhood and can often come up to look after their own plants, have a cup of tea and a chat with friends at the long table under the awning, enjoy the flowers and vegetables, and bring their children to meet the different plants and take a walk and play. Meanwhile, the iconic minor architrecture allows humans wandering down the main street to discover the interior of the Chessel's court. This capriccio is primarily a blend of nineteenth-century Edinburgh's old town, present-day minor architecture and aspidistra. the city of Edinburgh had its origins in the castle, and as the population grew and military occupation took hold, old town expanded rapidly within the city walls, turning the narrow streets into a hell of human and animal dung. The whole area was haunted by disease and misery and eventually Old town was abandoned by the rich in the 18th century. The rolling smoke symbolises the enormous pollution that the society of the time endured in the wake of the industrial revolution. The concept of the whole project is illustrated by the use of aspidistra in the context of minor architecture, which integrates the present day minor architecture into the streets of 19th century Edinburgh, illustrating the influence of history and minor architecture, and contrasting it with the current city to stimulate human thought and reflection. Gordon looked at the buildings and dirty streets of the future and slowly fell into contemplation... Old Edinburgh, Minor architecture and aspidistra

Plan for FABB agencies In an era of environmental destruction and the spread of infectious diseases, many urban residents are seeking a social life that is different from the traditional consumer period, concerned with environmental protection and personal health in both physical and spiritual terms. As a result, there is a growing number of urban dwellers who are attracted by this philosophy of living and are interested in practising sustainable development and community activities. This project is an experimental urban space that responds to this change in lifestyle through a new community space created by two concepts, Second Nature Farming and Third Nature Garden. The project is promoting a new value approach to urban living that is emerging globally and represents a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, promoting sustainable agriculture and healthy living. In a crowded community such as old town, several blocks of Allotment open to the public have many potential values. If properly designed, it can be an attractive space for walking and activity, as well as a place to nurture the community and take pressure off a high-density area. And if properly operated, the space could also pay back the construction investment over time, boosting the regional economy. By extending this model to the whole of Edinburgh, the Royal Mile's minor architecture experiment will also have a 'green archipelago' effect, leading to the development of Edinburgh's postmodern and ecological urbanism in Edinburgh. The general function of the FABB agencies is allotment, of which F is Plant laboratory, mainly for the planting and culti vation of large trees, located in the open space connected to Bailie Fyfe’s close, Paisley close and Chalmers close, three closes, primarily for the planting of large trees and the research and cultivation of saplings that can be introduced into the city. A is an organic food restaurant, site is a residential vacant lot accessed from new street, mainly using food grown for the health of the city. B1 is home of ornamental plants, located in Chesse’s court, refreshing in the form of a garden to the city. B2 is a water cycling centre, located in an open residential area connected to Gullan’s close, which brings purified water to the city. The four sites are located in different neighbourhood, about two minutes’ walk from each other, and the three functions of FAB2 are parallel, with B2 providing water supply for FAB1. The four building functions form an allotment system. Through the regeneration of these minor buildings, the attractiveness of the minor space will be increased and the pressure on the main street of the Royal Mile will be reduced. It also promotes civic autonomy, linking the protection of the environment with the sense of responsibility of the residents.
