PH7 was established in 2000 with one main objective; to highlight the more positive side of life.

The company started with a student-focused magazine called “STUDENTALK, which acted like an incubator and platform for expressing the views and ideas of Kuwaiti students, as well as their dreams and aspirations.

The company’s activity evolved with the launch of two magazines specialized in creativity and the luxuries of life: “THETALK” and “MEN’S PASSION”, and later launched the website passionsarabia.com.

In addition, the company also entered the events management field in 2012 and became the first choice for a large number of world-class brands.

Today, with the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, and despite the difficulties Kuwait and the world went through, we have decided to dedicate this issue of the magazine to spreading positivity through highlighting the efforts enacted by the various government authorities, the citizens and residents of Kuwait, local companies and international brands.

In truth, the State of Kuwait leveraged all of its capabilities and influence to control the pandemic and worked around the clock through its ministries, institutions, and with individuals under the guidance and with the recommendations of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may Allah protect and bless him.

The role of civil society organizations and voluntary work is undeniable too, including both companies and individuals, all of whom showed that giving is the highest kind of payback and support for the State of Kuwait, which has always been supportive of those in need.

International brands have also proven that the world is a stronger place if we remain united as human beings. A large number of brands have cooperated with a view to combating the pandemic through providing material aid and media campaigns to promote the idea of social distancing. There are also companies that dedicated their production lines to serving those on the frontline.

“So we may never forget” In this issue, we share highlights aimed at spreading positivity lest we ever forget that crises can also spread humanity, love, and hard work.

In conclusion, we can only praise, thank, and appreciate all the frontline workers in the State of Kuwait and the world who sacrificed themselves and worked hard to save human lives, and we would like to thank everyone who has a direct or indirect role in overcoming the most difficult health, material, and moral crisis of our modern day. We must always remember the positive side of life.

Second Speech: April 19, 2020 At the beginning of his second speech, His Highness prayed to Almighty Allah that the “coronavirus will end so that life comes back to normal, and that Kuwait will overcome the pandemic and once again enjoy safety and security.” ˗ Everything is in place to protect our people from the coronavirus. ˗ Containing the pandemic and saving lives is a top priority. ˗ His Highness praised the competent medical teams that have made great sacrifices to save the State from the coronavirus. ˗ The government is working towards finding the best way to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. ˗ Without solidarity and cooperation, our efforts will not be successful in containing the pandemic. ˗ His Highness praised the efforts of the Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Sabah AlKhaled, and all those working within government and private entities. ˗ Medical personnel, especially those working on the frontline against the pandemic, are making tremendous efforts to preserve the health of citizens and residents. ˗ Every returnees’ commitment to quarantine and to abide by all health instructions is recognized as a sign of loyalty and patriotism to their homeland.

Third Speech: May 9, 2020 ˗ The coronavirus is a divine test of the strength of our faith, a cause for unity, and an embodiment of our high patriotic spirit. ˗ Kuwait faces an unprecedented challenge “in maintaining the integrity and resilience of our national economy from external challenges.” ˗ We are delighted with the success and completion of the plan to return our brothers, sisters, and sons from abroad to their homeland, and we are highly appreciative of the great efforts made by the government and other relevant entities. ˗ On many occasions, I have made calls to focus our efforts towards building a stable and sustainable human-based economy, while leveraging the natural resources Allah bestowed on us. ˗ “Allah will bestow victory on Kuwait.” ˗ “The feelings of satisfaction among citizens and residents have warmed my heart.” ˗ “Everything is in place to protect our people from the coronavirus.”

The Watchful Eye 2020 will go down in history as a year to remember as the world witnessed its largest health crisis ever. Many countries will also go down in history as nations that spared no effort in combatting the global pandemic and preventing the spread of novel coronavirus COVID-19.

As we look back on this period, we will always remember the Kuwaiti heroes who did their best during the pandemic as directed by His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

“I urge you, by Allah… stay at home.”

In February 2020, and with the announcement of the first case of coronavirus in Kuwait, the nation’s Minister of Health Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah stepped up to the post. He dedicated the full facilities of the Ministry of Health towards combatting the coronavirus and protecting citizens and residents alike by taking precautionary and proactive actions. He also worked around the clock, and in coordination with concerned authorities, using the best strategic methods aimed at combatting the crisis. The Minister’s efforts were recognized across the country. In addition, the WHO praised the measures taken by Kuwait to combat the coronavirus.

Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Hospital, the largest hospital in the Middle East and sixth largest in the world, was designated for the treatment of infected people. In total, 1,130 beds were dedicated to this. A field hospital was also equipped in the Kuwait International Fairground with 1,400 beds. Additionally, the capacity of government hospitals added a further 8,000 beds. There was a plan to use the New Jahra Hospital for corona-infected patients if required.

As for the capacity of intensive care units (ICUs) in the government sector, they amounted to around 1,000 beds, and a plan was implemented to increase this number in case of need. The Ministry was also keen on securing medical supplies throughout the crisis for frontline doctors, nurses, and volunteers. It was also keen on maintaining constant updates, in cooperation with the WHO, of the latest coronavirus-related developments.

In order to minimize the need for citizens to leave their homes, and in support of the commitment to 24/7 social distancing in cooperation and coordination with the Fire Service Directorate, the Ministry of Health also provided medicine delivery services.

The Ministry of Health used a Cuban medical team to treat infected cases, while showcasing leadership in providing optimal medical services.

“I urge you, by Allah… stay at home.” with this phrase, the Kuwaiti Minister of Health, Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah, addressed the citizens and residents during the coronavirus crisis, and this quickly became a widely-used phrase.

“Serving Kuwaitis is a Top Priority” The Ministry of Interior made full use of its capabilities after the announcement of the curfew. Since overcoming crises required a synergy of effort, Kuwait leveraged all human, technical, and health capabilities to combat the novel coronavirus in order to protect citizens and residents from its risks. The Minister of Interior, Anas Al-Saleh, stressed that serving the people of Kuwait and keeping them safe and healthy was a top priority.

The Ministry also activated awareness-raising and educational plans to guide citizens and residents, refute rumors, and fight fake news through print and audiovisual media, and through the Ministry of Interior’s social media feeds and the feeds of other government entities.

The Ministry was also keen on implementing decisions, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, regarding the total and partial lockdown in some areas, as well as implementing building closures and activating all measures that help limit the spread of the coronavirus.

From a humanitarian standpoint, and under the “Leave Safely” campaign, the fines imposed on expats in violation of the residency law were repealed in cases where they travel to their country between April 1 to April 30, with the possibility of them returning to Kuwait at a later date if they wish.

Also, after the crisis and due to an imbalance in the demographics, new decisions will be issued regarding amending demographics.

The Minister also said that there will be a firm stand against residency dealers.

“We Assure Kuwaitis Abroad that they will Return Home” With around 60,000 Kuwaitis abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) evacuated Kuwaitis from all around the world, making this the largest evacuation in the history of Kuwait through an ‘air bridge’ operated by the MFA in cooperation with Kuwait Airways and the Ministries of Health and Finance, and following the directives of His Highness The Amir who ordered the return of all Kuwaitis stranded abroad, regardless of the cost, and despite the closure of most of the world’s airports. In addition, many citizens were evacuated by road. It is worth highlighting that those Kuwaitis who were brought back from abroad were mostly in UK and USA to study, for treatment, for work, or for tourism, while others were scattered across the globe.

“We Will not Let the Health Crisis Turn into a Food Crisis!”

Given that the damage to any sector might affect other sectors, the Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry, represented by Minister Khaled Al-Roudhan, swiftly took firm decisions that supported the State’s actions in combatting the coronavirus. The Ministry’s main objective was that it will not let the health crisis turn into a food crisis, which is why the Ministry standardized food prices and did not hesitate to punish anyone failing to abide by the decision.

At the same time, the Ministry was keen on providing a strong strategic food stock with the help of the Kuwaiti Catering Company and the cooperatives sector in particular, especially given the fact that the economic ecosystem is comprised of a mix of public and private companies.

Through daily campaigns aimed at monitoring prices and ensuring work is performed under the precautionary measures in place for combatting coronavirus, the Ministry also took steps to ensure that no one took advantage of this difficult period. The Ministry closed a number of pharmacies that did not comply with the ministerial decision regarding pricing. In addition, it arrested violators who took advantage of the crisis by manufacturing sterilizers not authorized by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry also assisted companies by paying the difference in freight costs and providing warehouses in order to protect the consumer from higher prices and to motivate traders to raise their strategic inventory.

Under the Royal Direction of H.H. The Amir 31,000 citizens returned to Kuwait by air and 4,350 by land Kuwait vehemently protects its citizens wherever they may be, and does not hesitate to devote all of its capabilities in support of their safety and comfort. When the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic began spreading worldwide, Kuwait quickly took essential measures required to provide for the comfort and safety of Kuwaitis. These measures included coordination with the Kuwaiti embassies around the globe in order to monitor conditions at various levels, as well as by arranging to fly them back to their homeland.

Air Evacuation Under the guidance of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, and in the largest evacuation movement in Kuwait history, more than 31,000 Kuwaitis were flown home from across the corners of the globe. His Highness was insistent on the importance of flying Kuwaitis back to the homeland before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan in order for the families of the returnees to enjoy comfort in the safe return of their loved ones in time for the special month.

His Highness also called on citizens returning from abroad to commit to quarantine, as well as their abidance of a continued commitment to the instructions issued by national authorities with regard to combating the virus, stressing the fact that Kuwait will not survive without committing wholly to these health measures.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad also stressed that Kuwait “has, since the emergence of this virus

and before its spread, harnessed all of its efforts, strengthened its health and preventive measures, and taken various additional preventive measures in order to save the lives of citizens and residents in accordance with the highest World Health Organization standards in a manner that has garnered widespread international acclaim.”

Kuwait has made full use of its capabilities to facilitate evacuation flights in compliance with the requirements of international safety standards and all health procedures - from departure to arrival. Returnees were scanned upon arrival and their health conditions assessed with the aim of controlling disease and saving people’s lives. It is worth noting that Kuwait sent a plane to evacuate just one citizen from the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

Road Evacuation Following the successful completion of evacuation flights, a plan for the road evacuation of returning citizens stranded in neighboring countries began. This fell under the directive of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, with continuous follow-up and instructions from His Highness the Prime Minister, and during which 4,350 citizens returned to Kuwait. State ministries, including the Ministries of Health, Interior, and Finance, cooperated in the successful completion of these trips.

Field Hospitals The Kuwait Field Hospital, established and equipped by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) in the fairgrounds in Mishref, includes specialized medical facilities in addition to care services for patients according to the highest standards, and has a capacity of 1,400 beds.

The field hospital and the health quarantine established by the Ministry of Public Works in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Al-Ardiya, and include examination and medical tests rooms, ICUs, isolation rooms and pharmacies, as well as dedicated housing and accommodation units for medical and nursing staff.

The Ministry of Defense has established three field hospitals within schools in Jleeb AlShuyoukh to examine and treat those infected and, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, to conduct comprehensive surveys and to take samples from all residents of the area.

The General Staff of the Army, represented by the Medical Services Authority, provided the field hospital and a quarantine facility in coordination with the Ministry of Health in three sites in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The sites are in two schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education and a center affiliated to the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.

Civil Society Organizations Combating Coronavirus Demonstrating that volunteering is a pillar in the Kuwaiti society, shared by both citizens and residents who did their best to pay back to Kuwaiti society, thousands of volunteers were there when their homeland needed them and rushed to meet the needs of their compatriots during the coronavirus pandemic. During the crisis, civil society institutions had an important and significant role in community service alongside the Ministry of Health and various other ministries and agencies responsible for responding to the crisis of the novel coronavirus. Here are highlights on two leading institutions in this field: the Kuwait Civil Defense and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

Kuwait Civil Defense At the beginning of the crisis, the Cabinet issued a decision mandating the General Directorate of Civil Defense to receive all volunteer requests and to meet the needs of all government agencies. Accordingly, the Kuwait Civil Defense played an important role during the coronavirus pandemic by leveraging all capabilities to assist the different State agencies by providing volunteer work groups as needed. Following acceptance of volunteering efforts, more than 25,000 people applied immediately.

The Kuwait Civil Defense was keen on training volunteers to cope with emergencies and to take relevant measures to deal with the pandemic.

The Civil Defense assumed specific sectors, including working with associations according to the preventive health measures decided by the health authorities. Essential organizational controls have been put in place regarding the aspects of training and qualification, while maintaining the safety of volunteers in a manner to achieve the best results.

In addition, accommodation was provided to civil workers in their areas of work to avoid direct contact with citizens and residents in highlypopulated regions of the country in order to reduce the spread of the pandemic. It is worth noting that there are around 75 cooperative societies across the country, each of which are largely dependent on expats of different nationalities.

Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society The Red Crescent Society was at the forefront of civil society organizations playing a major role in responding to the coronavirus COVID-19 even before the official announcement of coronavirus infections in Kuwait.

According to the Geneva Convention, the Red Crescent Society (RCS) is the main arm of humanitarian work in the country, and it works in exceptional conditions and in a neutral and transparent manner. The RCS also provides people with improved living conditions through the distribution of food, medicine, and other essentials. As part of the “For the Sake of Kuwait, Stay at Home” campaign launched by the Society, thousands of food baskets were distributed to people who are unable to provide for themselves. Furthermore, online donations were launched, which attracted many people to donate for those in need.

The Society also supported the needy in other ways during the pandemic - especially those workers facing difficult financial conditions - with baskets containing a month’s basic food.

The Red Crescent Society participated in the “We Protect You” initiative by checking the temperature of people at cooperative societies and through the distribution of masks and sterilizers to a large number of government institutions, ministries, care homes, and prisons, as well as volunteers working with the Ministry of Health.

The Society also carried out great awareness-raising work by issuing brochures and booklets advising on the symptoms of the coronavirus and how to prevent its spread, and by distributing them to associations and in public places to raise awareness of the virus.

Importantly, the work of civil society institutions carries on.

People of Kuwait‌ People of Humanity Forever The Kuwaiti people have proven throughout history that they are heroes by rising to the challenges of difficult times, and their leader, His Highness The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may Allah protect and bless him, is the Amir of Humanity. In the same vein, and out of belief in social responsibility, the Kuwaiti people did not hesitate, be that at the level of individuals, companies, and institutions, to support Kuwait in all circumstances, and both small and large companies topped the list of helping their homeland, Kuwait.

His Highness The Amir, on behalf of the Al-Sabah family, donated $5 million KD to a fund dedicated to mitigating the risks of the novel coronavirus.

Companies and Institutions Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanim & Sons Company Ali Muhammad Thunayan Al-Ghanim & Sons Company donated 500,000 devices for testing for coronavirus.

Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Kharafi & Sons Company Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Kharafi and Sons Group donated KD one million to cover the Ministry of Health’s need for medical equipment required to combat the novel coronavirus. The Group said in a statement that “out of our national responsibility and support for Kuwait, Al-Kharafi Group donated KD one million to cover the Ministry of Health’s need for equipment.

Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Bahar Company Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Bahr Company donated KD one million to the employees of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior combating the coronavirus. The Company said in a statement that “we believe in the efforts exerted by the employees of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior at the frontlines to limit the spread of

coronavirus in our beloved homeland. In appreciation and gratitude for their tremendous efforts, our company donates KD one million to them.”

Abdullah Hamad Al Saqer & Brothers Company Abdullah Hamad Al Saqer and Brothers Company donated an amount of KD one million at the disposal of the Minister of Health, Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah. The company added in a statement that: “we pray to Allah to protect Kuwait, its people, and its residents from all harm and grant them health and safety.”

Alghanim International Company Alghanim International provided Fouad Alghanim with 1,000 pieces of heavy equipment from its subsidiary surveying company at State’s disposal for sterilizing the streets.

Zain Zain collaborated with the National Corona Care KW Psychological Counseling Program by providing free SIMs and SMSs.

Abdul Mohsen Abdul Aziz Al Babtain Company The company offered its latest Infiniti and Nissan vehicles at the disposal of the Civil Aviation and Logistics Support Team at the General Department of Civil Aviation and the Red Crescent Society.

Kuwait Cement Company Kuwait Cement Company donated KD250,000 to a fund dedicated to mitigating the risks of the novel coronavirus.

Al Tamdeen Real Estate Group The Tamdeen Group was the first company to offer a 4-month discount of rents for all its investors in the commercial complexes in 360 Mall, Kuwait Mall, and Sama Mall.

Kuwait College of Science and Technology KCST, in cooperation with Shield’s campaign, made its development labs available to the Ministry of Health.

FAS Hotels FAS Hotels placed their Marriott Courtyard hotel at the disposal of the Ministry of Health.

Arabesque Hotel Apartments Arabesque Hotel Apartments at Ras Al Salmiya, with all of the facilities included, were offered at the disposal of the Ministry of Health.

Financial and Banking Sector • The Central Bank of Kuwait established a KD10 million fund, funded by local banks to support ongoing government endeavors against the spread of coronavirus in the State.

• The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development donated KW30 million to support government efforts in combating the virus.

• The Kuwait Banking Association postponed the installments of residents, expats, and small companies for six months and canceled the interest and profits from such a postponement as well as any other associated fees.

Charitable Campaigns Fawaz Khaled Youssef Al-Marzouq launched the “Al-Kuwait Testahil (lit. Kuwait Deserves)” Campaign, which includes a fund under the supervision of the Kuwaiti Government to collect donations in support of government efforts. Under the slogan “Kuwait Rush (lit. Faz’at Al- Kuwait)”, the International Islamic Charitable Organization launched in cooperation with 41 charitable societies a campaign to collect public donations to support the government efforts in fighting the coronavirus. In addition, payment of goodwill loans installments provided by the Zakat House were postponed for six months.

The Zakat House also contributed with an amount of KD500,000 to supporting the Ministry of Health’s efforts in combating the coronavirus.

Red Crescent Awareness-Raising Campaigns and Distribution of Food Baskets to Families in Need Government of Kuwait… Government of Humanity Forever Kuwait has always been a pioneer in the humanitarian field over the years, and it has always been a leader in giving to countries at the regional and global levels. From

this standpoint, and under the guidance of His Highness The Amir, Kuwait had a clear contribution in this area. The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in a statement praised the generous donations of Kuwait in fighting the novel coronavirus. The donations came as follows: WHO An amount of $40 million given to WHO in support of its efforts in combating the coronavirus, $10 million to the Islamic Republic of Iran as humanitarian aid, financial aid to countries that need support, according to WHO, such as Iraq and Palestine, $3 million to China, and $60 million to WHO’s Response Fund for COVID-19.

Establishments at the Disposal of the Ministry of Health Kuwait Oil Company placed all of its health and logistical capabilities at the disposal of the Ministry of Health. In addition, sports clubs were placed at the disposal of the Ministry, and the Sports Authority placed all of its facilities at the disposal of the Ministry of Health.

Media Coverage and Strenuous Efforts Media Activist: Mohamed Al-Amer Media activist and social media celebrity Mohamed Al-Amer devoted his accounts on various websites, plus Instagram @m_al3amer and Snapchat @m_al3amer85, to provide direct media coverage concerning all issues related to the coronavirus COVID-19. His action in joining the frontlines and covering fast-moving events highlighted the efforts of several government entities. Al-Amer explained that he decided to play his role as a media personality to serve his homeland by dedicating his accounts to awareness-raising and spreading important information of interest to both citizens and residents.

Al-Amer said: “I started by posting an educational video to help clear dangerous rumors, and I cooperated with a team in spreading correct information to raise awareness while encouraging a commitment to social distancing as well as not going out except for the most urgent needs – all based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. The video was filmed in a number of places, including Kuwait International Airport and various cooperative societies.” Al-Amer added: “During the filming of the video, we were saddened to see the airport with no travelers – something that reminded us of the period during the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait in 1990 and 1991.”

After the educational video spread across social media, Al-Amer received a call from the Ministry of Finance - still operating despite lockdown as it is the authority devoted to disbursing pensions, determining budgets, and implementing the decisions that the State takes concerning financial issues.

He added: “Following coordination, an appointment was made with the Minister of Finance Barrak Al-Shitan, and I met the employees and the hospitality management team in the Ministry, namely Badr Al-Salal, Muhammad Al-Awadi, and Youssef Al-Fayyad, who specialize in implementing the State’s decisions concerning contracts and so on.”

With regard to key media campaigns, Al-Amer said: “I covered the work and preparations of civil aviation personnel, including sterilization and cleaning for evacuation flights, at the request of the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may Allah protect him, on the return of the citizens in the largest evacuation in the history of Kuwait, which reached a record number of more than 180 flights.

Al-Amer participated in covering Kuwaiti repatriation flights through both Jazeera Airways and Qatar Airways. These coverage campaigns were recorded moment by moment, and the activity of the General Fire Service and the Emergency Medical Aid Department were also covered, in addition to covering evacuation flights for departures from Kuwait International Airport to their homelands. Al-Amer also highlighted the efforts of the quarantine teams and covered the opening of the inspection centers in AlJazeera and the Jaber Stadium.

Amer added: “I would like to thank many persons including Abdul-Mohsen Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, who offered their newest vehicles at the disposal of the Civil Aviation and Logistics Support Team at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, where I was later registered as a member of the Directorate. In addition, vehicles were provided to the Red Crescent Society to transport patients to their houses.”

Furthermore, media coverage of Kuwait’s ‘Operation Hope’ - headed by former Minister of Health Dr Muhammad Al-Jarallah under supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Public Authority for Disability Affairs - was carried out to cover the manufacture of a face mask.

Al-Amer also participated in a campaign dedicated to the sterilization of streets and urban areas of Kuwait under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipality, with Alghanim International donating heavy-duty sterilization equipment.

Thanks to the great efforts made by Mohamed Al-Amer, one of the committees in the Council of Ministers for coronavirus pandemic contacted him. They registered Al-Amer in the working team charged with the task of providing media materials.

Al-Amer pointed out: “One of the situations that touched us is seeing families meeting their children when they came home after being abroad for months yet are unable to hug them due to the health procedures and social distancing. Meanwhile, we were also touched by the kind words Kuwaitis coming from abroad said to us. This was a huge support and great recognition of our efforts.”

Al-Amer concluded that this experience created greater confidence between him and his followers, both citizens and residents, as he was keen to present media content as it is - free from rumors and incorrect information – an action which contributed to creating confidence between him and the companies he worked with, all of which praised his efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

Volunteering is the Noblest Form of Giving Noor Al-Obaid As a female Kuwaiti activist on social media, Noor Al-Obaid played a large role and delivered a distinctive contribution to volunteering work during the global crisis of the novel coronavirus. She also focused her capabilities on a personal initiative, without any help at the beginning, through which she provided support to families and individuals in need due to the coronavirus pandemic – largely due to the fact that many individuals lost their jobs and no longer have income to buy food and other essential supplies.

Noor Al-Obaid said: “Once the coronavirus pandemic began in Kuwait at the end of February, and with the closure of all private and government institutions mid-March, I immediately felt the suffering of some individuals and families who lost their monthly and daily income, and I decided directly to provide boxes containing fresh vegetables, fruits, and foodstuff that fulfill the needs of up to six family members for a month or longer.”

She added: “I started distributing meals to needy families, but with the beginning of the partial lockdown it became difficult to reach out to locked-down areas that need entry permits, which were difficult for me to obtain.”

About her experience in volunteering, Al-Obaid said: “I grew up in a family that urges us to volunteer and help society, which was the biggest incentive for me to continue this volunteering work, and which was warmly welcomed despite the difficulties of movement, especially during partial lockdown of some areas, followed by a total lockdown across the country. My family has been the main supporter, and my mother has always motivated me to continue this work and distribute meals regardless of the risks that may arise from volunteering.”

Al-Obaid also stressed that she felt frustrated some days due to psychological pressures stemming from the difficulty of movement, but she worked hard to overcome these pressures in order to achieve the desired goal and provide the necessary aid to those in need at a time perceived as the toughest time anyone might go through.

She added that a number of companies and institutions have cooperated in extending a helping hand as well and also helped needy families, especially in Asian communities where low incomes are widespread. “This was a major incentive for me to continue my efforts,” she said.

Speaking of the most difficult situations she experienced, Al-Obaid said: “I was so saddened by the conditions of some of the workers whose monthly income was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic and which affected their ability to pay their rents and to provide for their most basic daily necessities.”

Al-Obaid added: “Some families have experienced great difficulties due to fear of leaving their houses to avoid the pressures of being asked to pay their rents. At the beginning of my work, I used to communicate with people on social media to get access to the phone numbers of families in need.”

Al-Obaid also mentioned the appreciation and gratitude she felt from the families and individuals who received the aid – even though so basic at times. She also said that some families used to video the aid to express their gratitude and share the videos on social media websites.”

She also used her official page on Instagram (@noorthatbakes) to post some videos and posts to raise awareness of the coronavirus. Following this, many more people volunteered, whether financially or morally, to support the charity work. In addition, Al-Obaid’s efforts extended to meeting some of the homeless people for whom she provided temporary shelters until their papers are completed so that they could leave Kuwait.

In conclusion, she stressed that this pandemic, despite its disadvantages, was an opportunity to do this work and prove that anyone can help.

Indian Community Rushes to Help Kuwait Knowing that Kuwait is the state of goodness and giving, many communities rushed to support it in different ways during the coronavirus crisis. Here is one Indian lady who couldn’t stand still, and with her individual volunteer initiative was able to galvanize the society, setting in motion a relief effort that touched thousands of people in need.

We met the Indian community initiative’s owner, Menmate Core Sethi, to get to know more about her volunteer work during the coronavirus crisis. She said: “We started our volunteer work spontaneously. First, we distributed food baskets to some needy families, and one of the people we helped told us that there are many families that can’t cover their daily food needs in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and when we asked about how many they are she told us that there are 200 families in ten buildings that need help. From that point, our goal was to provide 2,000 food baskets.”

Regarding how she managed to provide this number of food baskets, Sethi said: “We started asking for help from friends to provide the foodstuff necessary for these families, and I was overwhelmed by the positive reaction and help I got from them. Some of them provided food baskets, and others provided funds. She added: “Since it was difficult to buy foodstuff in large quantities, I contacted food companies which showed us great support by supplying our needs at reasonable prices. Some of these companies also gave us foodstuff, which was soon to expire, free of charge or at cost price, while others provided us with foodstuffs as a contribution to our volunteer work. Thanks to the endeavors and efforts of various individuals, we not only provided 2,000 food baskets but managed to go on to provide additional 8,194 baskets.”

At the beginning of our volunteer work, Sethi says: “We started preparing food baskets in my own home with my family and some friends. Later, people volunteered to prepare and distribute the baskets. Some of the volunteers were also residents in Jleeb AlShuyoukh and Mahboula, who helped us reach and distribute baskets to needy families.”

Sethi praises the cooperation of the Kuwaiti police during the time of lockdown of​​ Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Mahboula, as police officers identified points for distribution of food baskets and provided two vehicles containing aids for delivery to registered individuals. Also, individuals with special permits during lockdown helped the team to deliver baskets.

Later, the scope of aid got wider as Sethi received phone calls from needy families in Al-Farwaniya, Hawalli, Al-Salmiyah, Salwa, Al-Jahra, and other areas. This activity turned into an integrated logistics effort starting with receiving phone calls and preparing donations and baskets, through to determining delivery times and dealing with other special requests. “We were also keen on providing children’s necessities, and a large number of people have donated toys which we distributed,” says Sethi. During the month of Ramadan, ready-made meals were distributed before iftar, and a farm owner donated vegetables.

Following the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior’s issuance of the decision to allow violators of residency regulations to travel back to their homelands, Sethi said: “We saw a group of eighty people from the Indian community in Al-Farwaniya sleeping on the streets because they were unable to register and fly back home, so I contacted the relevant authorities in the State, and we were able to help them find accommodation until their travel date is set. With more than 35 volunteers and individual and group contributions, we were able to contribute to the Kuwaiti Red Crescent, Kerala Association, Philippines community, and several small charities”.

Lebanese for Kuwait Kuwait and Lebanon have a strong relationship, one that dates back many years.

This distinguished relationship between the two countries has witnessed many honorable stances throughout history both at governmental and individual level.

As such, it was only natural that during the period of the coronavirus pandemic, the Lebanese community, through its Embassy in Kuwait and the newly formed LBCK, tried paying back to Kuwait through a number of various campaigns.

Among the campaigns carried out by the Lebanese community in Kuwait, the Lebanese Business Council, with the support of the Embassy, launched the “Lebanese for Kuwait” website, under the slogan “We Go Back (lit. Beynatna Khobz Wemalh)”. The campaign urges the Lebanese to volunteer and leverage their expertise, each in various fields, to help Kuwaitis as a way of paying back to Kuwait – a State that is a home to them.

The website was designed to open the doors to volunteering for every Lebanese residing in Kuwait to serve their second homeland, Kuwait, in areas that need experienced personnel in the medical, food and other sectors. On the first day, around 250 Lebanese from various fields volunteered to support their Kuwaiti brothers. Also, Lebanese doctors in Kuwait announced their desire to volunteer on the frontline of combating the coronavirus.

The Embassy also urged the Lebanese community in Kuwait to commit to the policies of the Kuwaiti government and to abide by its decisions in combating the virus, in addition to helping those affected in the Lebanese community in Kuwait.

Also, the Council established a “crisis team” immediately after the outbreak, and contacted families in need, especially in light of the economic conditions that affected some sectors due to lockdown. The Lebanese Business Council also launched a large donation campaign in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society to help Lebanese people in their fight against the coronavirus. In addition, awarenessraising campaigns and videos were produced by the Embassy in compliance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

Online Platform for Psychological Counseling for Coronavirus A unique and free to use online platform for psychological counseling during the time of coronavirus has launched in Kuwait at CoronaCareKw.com. With more than 100 specialist volunteers and psychiatrists available for psychological counseling sessions via video call, it is targeted for use by infected patients as well as citizens and residents in official quarantine. Nine hundred and fifty additional volunteers are available through the website, including 200 counselors.

Experienced doctors were selected to conduct counseling sessions online.

The program uses WHO-approved health standards, and it can support more than 300 sessions a week to provide the desired results and help all who are subject to stress during this crisis. The platform aims at providing psychological counseling sessions; in particular for medical workers who are exposed to difficult situations, and given the fact that many see people dying of the virus and are unable to save them, while others caring for patients in ICUs. CoronaCareKw.com aims to provide psychological care through counseling interviews for people who experience psychological distress within three main categories: 1. Medical teams on the frontline, 2. Confirmed coronavirus cases, 3. People in official quarantine.

Zain Group supported the program by activating its social role during this crisis, an action in line with its strategy of social responsibility and sustainability, and one which reflects the role of private sector companies in supporting the voluntary efforts of Kuwaitis in maintaining the security and stability of the State.

Zain supported the initiative by providing free SIM cards to the team supervising the program to help facilitate communication among them. Additionally, Zain sent bulk SMSs to raise awareness of the program in Kuwait and is sharing its objectives via its social media to reach out to the broadest possible audience and to help contribute to maintaining mental health within the community.

Giorgio Armani also donated $1.4 million to hospitals in Milan and Rome, as well as the Italian Civil Protection Department combating the spread of coronavirus in Italy.

Gucci Italian fashion house Gucci donated 1 million Euro to fundraising campaigns in Italy, in addition to donating to the Global Fund of the WHO. In addition, Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri made a personal donation of €100k to hospitals in Italy.

Dolce & Gabbana Famous Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana collaborated with Humanitas University to combat the coronavirus, and their collaboration contributed to both the identification of vital indicators of the severity of the disease and the development of treatment tools.

Prada The Italian fashion house donated six ICU units to hospitals across Italy.

Chanel Famous French fashion house Chanel announced during the crisis that its staff would manufacture masks and protective clothing used in combating coronavirus. Chanel also provided €1.2 million to the General Hospital Emergency Fund and promised its staff a salary for eight weeks.

Kering French luxury group Kering, owner of Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, manufactured face masks and donated them to medical staff combating the coronavirus.

Burberry British fashion brand Burberry used some of its production lines to make face masks for medical crews in the UK. Burberry, famous for its iconic coats, used a coat factory in Castleford, Yorkshire, to make non-surgical gowns and masks for patients in the nation’s hospitals.

Christian Siriano American fashion designer Christian Siriano announced the design of sterilized face masks for medical staff in New York hospitals, and tasked a team of ten workers with the production of several thousand washable and reusable masks in addition to medical N95 masks.

Los Angeles Apparel American clothing manufacturer Los Angeles Apparel turned its 150,000 square foot workshop into a factory for producing 300,000 masks and 50,000 medical gowns per week provided to any in-need government entity for across the world.

Inditex Spanish parent company of Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, and Stradivarius turned its factories into production lines for medical gowns.

Christian Dior French fashion house Dior dedicated one of its factories to producing masks for workers in supermarkets and the transport sector and distributed foodstuff to several other industries that were still operating during the coronavirus outbreak. Dior also dedicated a factory in Brittany, northern France, to the manufacture of protective clothing for children.

Louis Vuitton French fashion house Louis Vuitton dedicated many of its workshops in France to producing hundreds of thousands of non-surgical face masks for frontline medical staff and donated thousands of medical gowns to six hospitals in Paris that were in urgent need of protective equipment.

H&M Swedish brand H&M used its factories to produce medical supplies.

Tony Ward Lebanese fashion house Tony Ward launched an initiative to manufacture hospital bed covers in its workshops, to be distributed to all in-need Lebanese hospitals.

Gucci Combating Coronavirus “We are all in this together,” is the phrase Gucci used to raise funds for combating coronavirus. Gucci helped support the fight against the pandemic with two separate contributions to fundraising campaigns, both locally and internationally. Gucci donated €1m to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund of the WHO and collected donations worth of $10m.

Alessandro Michele, Creative Director of Gucci, and Marco Bizzarri, Gucci CEO, announced the initiative in a message to company staff around the world: “This pandemic calls us to an unexpected task, but it is a call to which we respond decisively, advocating the selfless work carried out by health workers, doctors and nurses on the front lines every day in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, in Italy and in the rest of the world. Their generosity and courage light our way forward in these difficult days. By supporting each other and helping those who are most vulnerable among us, we will be able to overcome this crisis: united, even more than before.” €2m was donated to support the courageous efforts of the Italian National Civil Protection Department through the fundraising platform at gucci.forfunding.it, where the #GucciCommunity can also give funds. The Italian National Civil Protection Department used the funds to strengthen

Italian health services and organizations managing the emergency and manufactured new ICU beds as a priority.

Globally, Gucci donated €1m to the UN COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support the WHO through a campaign on Facebook, which raised $10m in donations.

The Fund aims to support the WHO’s efforts, including helping to track and understand the spread of coronavirus, enhancing patient care and ICUs, and improving supplies for health workers, including protective gear and the acceleration of the development of vaccines and treatments.

More than 200,000 people and major companies worldwide contributed to the donations. The fundraising campaign was also launched internally among the more than nineteen thousand employees of the company worldwide. It is worth noting that Gucci placed its social media accounts, with more than 70 million followers, at the WHO’s disposal.

Coronavirus: Dolce&Gabbana and Humanitas together for research An important donation to Humanitas University in support of a study coordinated by Prof. Mantovani and in cooperation with virologists Elisa Vicenzi and Massimo Clementi of San Raffaele Vita-Salute University.

The aim is to lay the basis for developing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, contributing to the solution of a global problem.

Do innate immunity molecules with antibody-like functions recognise the SARSCoV-2 coronavirus and play a protective, defensive role against infection? Can they be indicators of the progress and severity of the disease in patients? Clarifying these questions can form the basis for developing diagnostic tools, such as biomarkers of the severity of the pathology, and therapeutic tools. This is the goal of the study funded by Dolce & Gabbana and coordinated by Prof. Alberto Mantovani, Scientific Director of Humanitas and Emeritus Professor of Humanitas University. The study, at the service of global health, brings together the skills of the team led by Prof. Mantovani and Prof.

Cecilia Garlanda of Humanitas University, related to the immune system, with those of Prof. Elisa Vicenzi and Massimo Clementi concerning viruses, at the San Raffaele Vita-Salute University, who were the first in Italy to isolate the pathogen responsible for SARS. The funding of this research project by Dolce & Gabbana further strengthens the active collaboration with Humanitas University, which the Italian fashion house also supports through scholarships for students of the MedTec School, the innovative

degree programme in Medicine, designed and developed by Humanitas University and Politecnico di Milano. The new degree aims to integrate and strengthen the skills of the professional figure of the medical doctor with the skills relevant to Biomedical Engineering. “We felt we had to do something to fight this devastating virus, which started from China but is threatening all mankind. In these cases, it is important to make the right choice. This is why we thought Humanitas University would be the ideal partner, whose excellence and humanity make it a special entity, with which we have already cooperated on a scholarship project. In the face of these tragedies of such a vast scale, each action may seem insignificant. Technology Companies Combating Coronavirus For the first time in recent history the language and goals of the world have united under a common slogan of “fighting the virus to save humanity.� Everyone is committed, whether at the level of individuals, countries, and companies, to overcome this pandemic, especially given that the spread of coronavirus has major consequences across many sectors.

Amazon Amazon donated 800 laptops to public schools in Seattle, and raised its staff salaries per hour and for overtime.

Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos also donated $100 million to Feeding America, a non-profit organization.

Microsoft Microsoft has directed its financial efforts towards AI-related health programs. In addition, the Gates Foundation also donated $100 million to research funding for coronavirus vaccines to accelerate the development and manufacture of a vaccine for it.

As an attempt to prevent any scams, the company blocked millions of suspicious emails every day in connection with coronavirus. In addition, Google also partnered with Apple to create a secure tracking tool to help public health authorities.

Apple Apple has made all of its donations to support public relief efforts in China and other affected parts worldwide.

Additionally, it donated twenty million masks to health workers, and is targeting the manufacture of 1 million masks a week. Microsoft and Apple together contributed $2 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. In addition, $681.5 million were given to small enterprises to help mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Facebook Facebook has dedicated funds to verify information being shared via its platform as well as to support local media.

Facebook and Alphabet also worked together to raise $15 million in donations to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which has generated $127 million so far.

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey donated $1 billion worth of his own shares in Twitter - which represents 28% of his wealth - to relief and education efforts. Dorsey noted that after the pandemic is over, the remaining funds will be transferred to health promotion, girls’ education, and improving incomes.

Brands Change to Encourage Social Distancing During this era of coronavirus, responsibility is global, and a large part of what we can all do is to observe social distancing. In line with this, major international companies adopted to highlight this principle out of corporate responsibility and through their role in awareness-raising.

Many companies changed their logos to reflect the nature of the task. While the global pandemic has proved critical to businesses including restaurants, commercial companies, and factories – may that that closed down - they worked hard to spread awareness and encourage social distancing.

Google Out of its belief in encouraging people to commit to social distancing, the company added additional spacing in between the letters of its famous blue, yellow, green, and red logo.

Microsoft Microsoft added additional space in between its iconic windows – a logo it has been famous for since the release of its first operating system in early 1980s. The Windows Operating System is a key global computer system which is produced by Microsoft.

PayPal Paypal spaced its initials with the spread of coronavirus.

MasterCard The company added spaces in between its yellow and red logo, and under each of them spelled out its name.

Audi Audi modified its logo on social media, separating its four circles in a short video clip aimed at encouraging people to stay at home and maintain a distance.

Volkswagen Volkswagen modified its logo on social media, promoting a video that separated the letter V from the W. CocaCola CocaCola displayed an advertisement in Times Square in New York, with each letter of its logo kept at a distance, and wrote: “staying apart is the best way to stay united.”

Pepsi Pepsi designed a new logo where the brand appeared wearing a face mask, and wrote under it: “Save yourself from COVID-19.”

McDonald’s It added spaces in between its famous golden M in a photo posted on its Facebook page. The advertising agency hired

by McDonald’s explained that despite the distancing “we can always be together.”

Starbucks Starbucks removed the mermaid from its logo to support the idea of social distancing.

How Coronavirus Saved the Environment During the period that people were under lockdown and quarantined in their homes, the environment was able to recover. The spread of the coronavirus, which ended the life of hundreds of thousands of people and led to financial catastrophe worldwide - estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars across every sector, left the environment as the only entity benefiting from the crisis.

As transportation, factories, and energy-production companies slowed down and stopped, the environment managed to recover from the pollution caused by generations of humans. In this regard, researchers stressed the need to make greater global efforts and to take advantage of the curfew period in many countries of the world to save the environment. It is worth highlighting that according to the World Health Organization - air pollution typically causes around 4.6 million premature deaths annually all over the world.

How did coronavirus save the environment?

• The largest hole in the ozone layer closed over the North Pole. Satellite imagery released by the European Space Agency (ESA) showed a significant decrease in nitrous oxide in atmosphere. Carbon emissions decreased by 6% during the current year, which is the lowest level in 30 years, due to reduced emissions from transportation, factories, and energy production. Moreover, pollution levels in New York decreased by around 50% compared to the same period last year.

The average ‘high-quality air day’ in China rose in February 2020 by 21.5% compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, air quality in Hong Kong improved, and basic data on air pollution decreased by about a third from January to February.

• In Spain, Madrid witnessed nitrous oxide levels drop by 56% in March, while Paris, Milan, Brussels, Belgium, and Frankfurt witnessed similar declines. In addition, China’s carbon emissions decreased by 25% in February compared to the same period last year.

The level of nitrogen dioxide in China, which is one of the greenhouse gases that can cause problems in the respiratory system including cancer, decreased by 42%.

• Worldwide, the coral reefs of Hawaii are now back to their unique nature, koalas are back to nature after Australia’s wildfires, China banned wild animal consumption when the committee of the Chinese People’s Assembly decided to stop the trade and consumption of wild animals, which is an industry estimated at $74 billion, and after a decade of attempts, Ying Ying and Le Le mated at Hong Kong Ocean Park zoo.

• The canals in the Italian city of Venice have become cleaner in an unprecedented change in modern history with the fish and marine creatures returning during the lockdown of the city and with people not seen in the streets.

Adel Issa Al-Yousifi Learning from Coronavirus Crisis In light of the coronavirus crisis that affected the whole world, we asked Adel Issa Al-Yousifi during our preparation of a special issue of the magazine entitled “So We Won’t Forget” to tell us about the lessons we must learn from this crisis.

SO WE MAY NEVER FORGET

“States Must Move from Private to Common Interest.”

At a time when the whole world was torn apart by conflicts, wars, and problems, life was turned upside down overnight, and our lives were affected by a virus the naked eye can’t see. Humanity seemed helpless and was unable to find a vaccine to limit the spread of the virus at a time of other many health and environmental problems and natural disasters.

Some believe that this is due to two reasons, first: the selfishness of humans, which industrialized countries call “interests”, and since each country has its own interests, each country looks to protect the good of its people and dedicate huge capabilities to obtaining natural resources, which affected the environment and climate thus causing environmental pollution and climate change, and reduced rainfall. Consequently, if the spread of coronavirus is due to such a human aggression on nature, it seems that nature “rebelled” against us to restore the balance necessary for leading a safe and normal life.

After the factories were disrupted, people were quarantined in their homes all over the world due to coronavirus spread, balance was restored to nature, which improved the environment around us.

As for the second reason, it might be that this virus is a product of the laboratories of developed countries that work on developing bacterial or biological weapons under the claim of these countries that such weapons are needed by national security of their people, which is a clear case of caring only about private interest and human selfishness. I believe that this biological weapons race will lead to the emergence of disasters from time to time in the future. So, to reduce such disasters, countries must move from private interests to common interests; that is, they must consider the interests of others as well to avoid causing harm to others, because this harm will affect everyone. Therefore, activating the principle of common interest will revive nature and the environment on the one hand and end cold and actual wars in our world.

It is noticed that in today’s politics there are no ethics or common interests, but priority is given to private interests only, which is why I believe that disasters and catastrophes will recur sooner or later.

So what is the solution, and how will we deal with such disasters?

The real solution is to invest in human voluntary capabilities, alongside providing and storing basic requirements for facing disasters, including mobile hospitals, tents, medicines, and all items needed for medical and humanitarian work. But the most important thing is to invest in people and volunteerism. In the face of disasters, we need people of all classes to collaborate, and people are ready as is evident by the developments of the coronavirus disaster, to take responsibility and to fight together.

We should advocate the idea of volunteerism, in the field of security, health, social, sports, healthcare, national celebrations, organizing traffic and the like, and develop a clear policy for volunteering and providing financial budgets generally needed for this work. In addition, specialized entities should give youth volunteerism a top priority to develop their talents and hone their abilities at all levels.

Volunteerism should not be only in times of crises and disasters, but rather must be a civilized act even in normal life conditions. Thus, we can provide the youth with opportunities to fill their spare time in a way that benefits them and the Kuwaiti society, so as they grow up as men and women that support their homeland in tough times.

Therefore, we have to care more about - and invest in - humans, as Allah instilled love of helping others in our souls. This investment can be embodied in volunteering youth who can’t prevent disasters but help mitigate their negative effects on society.

The culture of volunteerism stems from the fact that it develops society and consolidates relations among groups and individuals, in addition to supporting the effectiveness of government action, and doing what governments can’t sometimes do. Volunteerism policy seeks to provide social, humanitarian, and environmental needs based on respect for the dignity of individuals and preservation of human rights.

We pray to Almighty Allah to protect Kuwait and all the peoples of the world from this pandemic and all other disasters.

MEN’S PASSION COVER COMPETITION Meet Our Jurors Throughout the pandemic and lockdown period, MEN’S PASSION kept reaching out to its readers and the Kuwaiti community through various digital channels.

One of the initiatives was to call upon Kuwait to give us our Cover for the Special Edition.

As we have received a large number of participants varying from professional designers to amateur enthusiasts, we decided to call upon a panel of jurors to help us decide on the winning concept and design.

As this Special Edition is Bilinguial, we opted to have 2 winners and 2 runners up.

Meet our jurors and explore with us the selected designs that entered the competition.

We take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has participated and supported this initiative.

The fine artist, Amira Behbehani, is known for her distinguished works. Described as the changing artist, she remains far from repetition presenting her works in various I implementations and artistic formulations.

Amira Behbehani is a self -taught artist who entered the Art world in 2001 and paved her own way to becoming one of the most known and sought after Kuwaiti artist.

Just as she is known for her Art, Amira is also known for her humanitarian and activism efforts. A founding member of ABOLISH 153 and the head of ‘Lapa Loyak’ Department of Fine Arts, Amira spares no efforts in her pursuit to making a positive impact in her community and the world.

Behbehani has participated in a large number of exhibitions and art galleries as well as established exhibitions for humanitarian goals and community support. Her exhibitions include the Kingdom of Attachment Exhibitions, The Fifteen Years Journey: The Works of Artist Amira Behbehani, and many others.

Amira Behbehnai First and foremost, Wakim is a cultural activist. He co-founded and directed Nuqat, a non-profit organization for cultural development in the Middle East.

Accumulating an impressive 20 years of experience, he has also developed and delivered a range of workshops and programs focusing on ideation, education, communication and culture.

By profession, Wakim is a communications director, specializing in advertising, project management, corporate client communication and creative direction. He has managed many teams including the creative, business and client servicing of BBDO, Y&R, FP7, JWT in Kuwait and Al Mohtaraf Assaudi in KSA.

Wakim Zeidan Architect, fashion designer, jewellery designer and photographer. Abdulla Alwadi was born in Kuwait, where he completed his secondary education before joining the University of Miami, where he obtained a BA in Architecture and Photography and an MA in Urban Design. An eclectic born artist, Abdulla is currently working at the Architecture Department at Kuwait University, while working on his own designs in the realms of art, fashion, jewellery and home accessories. Freelancing jobs pertaining to Events Designs, Advertising and Marketing Campaigns, Abdulla also worked as an assistant director, fashion designer and makeup artist for three years with Panagia Art Production in Miami. Kuwaiti Architect Abdullah Al-Awadi was chosen at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2014 and 2016.

Sundos hamza 1. I realized that I don’t mind being at home and simply not go out and simply enjoy it 2. I realized I can still play fun games with my kids and that only school makes me scream at them, otherwise I am a cool mom 3. I realized when I got close to possibly being taken to Jaber Hospital that I didn’t know what I would do if I had two more months left in my life, I haven’t figured that out yet, but this situation made me realize that I have to 4. I know there is poverty and hardship in life but what makes it worse is when it happens in my home country. To find out how some people are cramped in apartments, how more than 900 people are living together in one small building with some workers even sharing beds (three to a bed), that was utterly sad and disgraceful.

5. I hate working out but it’s awesome when I am doing sports with my girls (at least the one who wakes up early enough) 6. I realized that my husband Bashar is my go to active life initiator and I only get the courage and enthusiasm to do these wakoo things because he is in my life, thankfully 7. I learnt how to needle embroidery and it’s so meditating I am thankful for all the quality time with Bashar and the girls, thankful to be taken care of by our Kuwait ,,, I am thankful to be able to help others in need, though for the first time in my life I didn’t jump the wagon and volunteer in the front lines, but opted to help from a distance! I caught up on a lot of work, I am actually reading some books, enjoying a meal, doing a lot of exercise!! So, my lesson is not to focus on one thing in life only; to have a happy existence, our life needs to be more complete, more rounded.

‫كيف أنقذت كورونا البيئة؟‬ ‫انغالق أكبر ثقب في طبقة األوزون فوق القطب الشمالي‪.‬‬ ‫أظهرت صور األقمار الصناعية الصادرة عن وكالة الفضاء األوروبية (‪ )ESA‬انخفاضا كبيرا في أكسيد‬ ‫النيتروز في الغالف الجوي‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عاما وذلك‬ ‫تراجعت انبعاثات الكربون بنسبة ‪ 6%‬خالل العام الحالي وهذا هو أقل مستوى منذ ‪30‬‬ ‫بسبب انخفاض االنبعاثات الناجمة عن وسائل النقل والمصانع وإنتاج الطاقة‪.‬‬ ‫تراجعت مستويات التلوث في نيويورك بنحو ‪ 50%‬مقارنة بنفس الفترة من العام الماضي‪.‬‬

‫غوغل‬ ‫ً‬ ‫إيمانا من الشركة األميركية لحث األشخاص على التباعد اإلجتماعي‪ ،‬قامت الشركة بإحالل فراغات‬ ‫بين ألوان الشعار األربعة الشهيرة ‪ ‬األزرق‪ ،‬األصفر‪ ،‬األخضر واألحمر‪ .‬‬

‫فولكسفاغن‬ ‫قامت‪ ‬فولكسفاغن‪ ‬بتعديل شعارها‪ ‬على وسائل التواصل االجتماعي حيث‪ ‬روجت لفيديو فصلت‬ ‫به حرف الـ‪ V‬عن الـ‪.W‬‬

‫مايكروسوفت‬ ‫باعدت شركة مايكروسوفت ويندوز بين نوافذها التي ظلت تشتهر بها منذ إطالق النسخة األولى‬ ‫في ثمانينيات القرن الماضي‪ ،‬ويعتبر نظام تشغيل ويندوز واحد من أهم أنظمة الحاسب اآللي في‬ ‫العالم‪ ،‬من إنتاج شركة مايكروسوفت‪.‬‬

‫باي بال ‪ ‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تزامنا مع انتشار فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫باعدت باي بال بين أحرفها األولى في شعارها‬ ‫شركة ماستر كارد العالمية‬ ‫قامت الشركة بإبعاد العالمتين الملونتين باألصفر واألحمر‪ ،‬وتحت كل منها وضعت ً‬ ‫جزءا من اسمها‪.‬‬ ‫أودي‬ ‫قامت أودي بتعديل شعارها‪ ‬على وسائل التواصل االجتماعي‪ ،‬حيث فصلت حلقاتها األربع في‬ ‫مقطع فيديو قصير يطلب من الناس البقاء في المنزل والحفاظ على مسافة‪.‬‬

‫بيبسي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كماما‪ ،‬وكتبت تحتها‪« :‬انقذ‬ ‫جديدا حيث ظهرت العالمة التجارية مرتدية‬ ‫شعارا‬ ‫صممت بيبسي‬ ‫نفسك من كوفيد – ‪.»19‬‬ ‫ماكدونالدز‬ ‫إبعاد أقواسها الذهبية الشهيرة عن بعض في صورة نشرت على صفحتها على «فيسبوك»‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا”‪.‬‬ ‫دائما أن يكونوا‬ ‫وأوضحت وكالة اإلعالن أنه رغم الفصل إال أنهم «يمكنهم‬ ‫ستاركبس‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تأييدا لمبدأ التباعد اإلجتماعي‪.‬‬ ‫تنازلت ستاربكس عن عروسة البحر في شعارها‬

‫تغيير العالمات التجارية لتشجيع التباعد اإلجتماعي‬ ‫في ظل أزمة كورونا‪ ،‬المسؤولية كانت عالمية‪ ،‬واهم ما كان علينا لنتعدى هذه المرحلة هو أن‬ ‫نتباعد إجتماعيا‪ .‬ومن هذا المنطلق وايماناً بأهمية التباعد اإلجتماعي‪ ،‬تبنت أهم الشركات العالمية‬ ‫هذا المبدأ‪ ،‬وشعرت بمسؤوليتها أمام العالم ودورها في نشر الوعي‪ ،‬فتخلى الكثير منهم على‬ ‫الشعار الخاص بهم وقاموا بتصميم «شعار» جديد ليناسب المرحلة‪ .‬رغم أن كانت مرحلة الوباء‬ ‫العالمي من أصعب المراحل بالنسبة للمطاعم‪ ،‬والشركات والمصانع التي أغلقت أبوابها‪ ،‬لكنها‬ ‫عملت هذه الشركات جاهدة على نشر الوعي والدعوة للتباعد اإلجتماعي بشكل مؤقت‪.‬‬

‫كل قطاع له دور في مجال ما في محاربة هذا الفيروس‪ ،‬وشركات التكنولوجيا العالمية سخرت‬ ‫إمكانياتها المادية والتكنولوجية لمحاربة هذا الوباء وفي مساهمة منها للمحاولة في إنقاذ العالم‪.‬‬ ‫ناهيك عن أهمية التطبيقات التي قاموا بإنشائها والتي ساهمت في إبقاء األشخاص على اتصال‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫قليال خالل الحجر المنزلي‪.‬‬ ‫مما يجعل الحياة أسهل‬ ‫نستعرض الشركات التكنولوجيا واإلمكانيات التي سخرتها في محاربة هذا الفيروس‪:‬‬ ‫ألفابيت ‪ -‬الشركة األم لغوغل‪-‬‬ ‫سخرت شركة ألفابيت ماليين الدوالرات لدعم الشركات الصغيرة وجهات الرعاية الصحية من اجل‬ ‫البحث عن لقاح لفيروس كورونا من أرصدة اإلعالنات‪.‬‬ ‫وقد قامت غوغل بانتاج ‪ 3‬ماليين قناع طبي للسيطرة على األوبئة في الواليات المتحدة‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ومنعا ألي عمليات احتيال‪ ،‬تصدت الشركة وحظرت ماليين رسائل االحتيال على البريد اإللكتروني‬ ‫ً‬ ‫يوميا فيما يتعلق بفايروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫كما دخلت غوغل في شراكة مع أبل إلنشاء أداة تتبع اتصال آمنة وخاصة لمساعدة سلطات‬ ‫الصحة العامة‪.‬‬

‫فيسبوك‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أموال للتحقق من المعلومات التي يتم تداولها‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى دعم‬ ‫خصصت شركة فيسبوك‬ ‫وسائل اإلعالم المحلية‪ .‬كما عملت كل من فيسبوك وألفابيت معا على جمع ما يصل إلى ‪15‬‬ ‫مليون دوالر من التبرعات لصندوق استجابة التضامن ضد فيروس كورونا‪ ،‬والذي جمع أكثر من‬ ‫‪ 127‬مليون دوالر حتى اآلن‪.‬‬ ‫كما خصصت فيسبوك منصة ضخمة أخرى يتم من خاللها نشر المعلومات الصحيحة أو حتى‬ ‫الخاطئة بسرعة وسهولة خاصة في أوقات األزمات‪ ،‬لذا يمكن أن يكون لنشر المعلومات غير‬ ‫المدروسة تأثير شديد على صحة وسالمة المجتمع‪.‬‬

‫أمازون‬ ‫تبرعت أمازون بـ ‪ 800‬كمبيوتر محمول للمدارس العامة في منطقة سياتل‪ ،‬ورفعت أجور العمال‬ ‫لكل ساعة عمل ووقت إضافي‪ .‬كما تبرع الرئيس التنفيذي جيف بيزوس ً‬ ‫أيضا بمبلغ ‪ 100‬مليون‬ ‫دوالر لمؤسسة ‪ Feeding America‬وهي مؤسسة غير ربحية‪.‬‬ ‫مايكروسوفت‬ ‫وجهت مايكروسوفت جهودها المالية نحو برامج الذكاء االصطناعي المتعلقة بالصحة‪ .‬كما‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ضخت مؤسسة غيتس الخيرية ‪ 100‬مليون دوالر في تمويل البحوث المتعلقة بإيجاد لقاحات‬ ‫للفيروس وفي مجال األبحاث لتسريع تطوير وتصنيع اللقاحات‪.‬‬ ‫أبل‬ ‫سخرت أبل كل تبرعاتها لدعم جهود اإلغاثة العامة في الصين واألجزاء المتضررة األخرى من‬ ‫العالم‪ ،‬عالوة على ذلك تبرعت بـ ‪ 20‬مليون قناع للعاملين الصحيين‪ ،‬وهي تهدف لتصنيع مليون‬ ‫قناع في األسبوع‪.‬‬ ‫معا بمبلغ ‪ 2‬مليون دوالر في صندوق االستجابة‬ ‫كما ساهمت كل من مايكروسوفت وأبل ً‬ ‫لفيروس كورونا والشركات الصغيرة األكثر استفادة من حجم اإلغاثة والتبرع التي قدمتها أكبر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تأثرا من تداعيات األزمة‪،‬‬ ‫خمس شركات تكنولوجية في العالم‪ ،‬باعتبارها واحدة من أكثر الكيانات‬ ‫حيث وصلت إلى ‪ 681.5‬مليون دوالر‪.‬‬

‫جاك دورسي‪ -‬الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة تويتر‬ ‫مليار دوالر قيمة تبرع جاك دورسي من أسهمه الخاصة لجهود اإلغاثة والتعليم وهذا ما يمثل‬ ‫‪ 28%‬من ثروته‪ .‬وأشار دورسي أنه بعد انتهاء الوباء‪ ،‬سيتم تحويل األموال المتبقية لتعزيز‬ ‫الصحة وتعليم الفتيات والمداخيل‪.‬‬

‫شركات تكنولوجيا تحارب كورونا‬ ‫للمرة األولى في عصرنا الحديث توحدت لغة العالم وأهدافها تحت‬ ‫شعار «محاربة الفيروس إلنقاذ البشرية»‪ ،‬سعى الجميع جاهداً سواء‬ ‫على مستوى أفراد‪ ،‬دول وشركات متنوعة في تسخير ما لديهم من‬ ‫إمكانيات لتخطي هذه المحنة خاصة أن ما حدث مع إنتشار فيروس‬ ‫كورونا له تداعيات كبيرة وإن كانت متفاوته على مختلف القطاعات‪.‬‬

‫“دولتشي آند غابانا” وجامعة “هيومانيتاس” تتعاونان‬ ‫معاً لمواجهة فيروس كورونا‬ ‫تمويل مهم تبرعت دار األزياء اإليطالية لدعم دراسة بحثية يشرف عليها األستاذ الدكتور ألبرتو‬ ‫مانتوفاني الستيضاح استجابة الجهاز المناعي لفيروس كورونا الجديد بالتعاون مع األستاذان إليسا‬ ‫فيشنتزي وماسيمو كليمنتي من جامعة سان رافاييل‬ ‫الدراسة تهدف إلى تطوير األدوات التشخيصية والعالجية للمرض والمساهمة في مكافحته عالمياً‬ ‫هل يمكن للجزيئات المناعية الفطرية ذات الوظائف الشبيهة باألجسام المضادة أن تتعرف على‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ودفاعيا ضد العدوى؟ وهل يمكن‬ ‫وقائيا‬ ‫دورا‬ ‫فيروس كورونا الجديد (‪ ،)SARS-CoV-2‬وأن تؤدي‬ ‫لها أن تكون مؤشرات على تقدم واستفحال المرض لدى المصابين؟ قد تكون اإلجابات على‬ ‫هذه األسئلة الركيزة األساسية في تطوير األدوات التشخيصية ‪ -‬مثل المؤشرات الحيوية الشتداد‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا‪ .‬وهذا هو هدف الدراسة التي تمولها “دولتشي آند‬ ‫المرض ‪ -‬واألدوات العالجية في آن‬ ‫غابانا” بالتنسيق مع األستاذ الدكتور ألبرتو مانتوفاني‪ ،‬المدير العلمي واألستاذ الفخري في جامعة‬ ‫“هيومانيتاس” للعلوم الطبية‪ .‬وتجمع هذه الدراسة خبرات فريق من الباحثين المختصين في مجال‬ ‫الجهاز المناعي برئاسة األستاذ الدكتور مانتوفاني واألستاذة الدكتورة سيسيليا جارالندا من جامعة‬ ‫“هيومانيتاس” مع خبرات األستاذة الدكتورة إليسا فيشنتزي واألستاذ الدكتور ماسيمو كليمنتي‬ ‫في مجال الفيروسات من جامعة سان رافاييل‪ ،‬والذين كانا أول من عزل العامل المسبب لمرض‬ ‫“سارس” في إيطاليا‪.‬‬ ‫يساهم تمويل “دولتشي آند غابانا” لهذا المشروع البحثي في تعزيز تعاونها مع جامعة “هيومانيتاس”‬ ‫التي تدعمها دار األزياء اإليطالية كذلك عبر تقديم منح دراسية لطالب كلية “ميدتيك”‪ ،‬البرنامج المبتكر‬

‫للشهادات الطبية الذي طورته وتديره جامعة “هيومانيتاس” وجامعة العلوم التطبيقية في ميالنو‪.‬‬ ‫ويهدف هذا البرنامج إلى دمج المهارات الطبية مع المهارات المرتبطة بالهندسة الطبية الحيوية‪.‬‬ ‫وبهذه المناسبة‪ ،‬قال مؤسسا الدار دومينيكو دولتشي وستيفانو غابانا‪“ :‬لم نستطع أن نقف‬ ‫مكتوفي األيدي أمام تفشي هذا الفيروس المدمر الذي انطلق من الصين ليهدد سالمة البشرية‬ ‫تعين علينا اتخاذ القرار الصحيح لمحاربته‪ .‬ورأينا في جامعة ’هيومانيتاس‘ الشريك المثالي‬ ‫جمعاء‪ ،‬فقد ّ‬ ‫بعد ما لمسناه فيها من تميز ومبادئ إنسانية سامية إثر تعاوننا معها في مشروع المنح الدراسية”‪.‬‬ ‫وأضاف المصممان الشهيران‪“ :‬قد ال يرى المرء جدوى حقيقية من مثل هذه المبادرات البسيطة إزاء‬ ‫حجم المآسي التي نشهدها اليوم‪ .‬ولكن البروفيسور مانتوفاني يرى عكس ذلك‪ ،‬ويستشهد بحكاية‬ ‫شب في الغابة‪ ،‬بل استمر بالتحليق‬ ‫إفريقية عن طائر طنان لم يكترث لفرار جميع الحيوانات من حريق ّ‬ ‫في االتجاه المعاكس إلحضار المياه في محاولة حثيثة إلخماد الحريق‪ .‬ونفهم من ذلك أن أي جهد‬ ‫ً‬ ‫بسيطا يستحق العناء‪ ،‬وقد يكون له تأثير كبير بنهاية المطاف‪ .‬إن دعم البحث العلمي هو‬ ‫مهما كان‬ ‫واجب أخالقي بالنسبة لنا‪ ،‬ونأمل أن تساعد مساهمتنا في حل هذه المشكلة المأساوية”‪.‬‬

‫غوتشي تحارب كورونا‬ ‫“جميعنا في هذا معاً” العبارة التي استخدمتها غوتشي في جمع التبرعات لمحاربة فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫ساهمت غوتشي في دعم الجهود لمكافحة الوباء عبر تقديم تبرعين منفصلين إلى حمالت التمويل‬ ‫الجماعي‪ ،‬وكان ذلك محلياً وعالمياً‪ .‬وقد تبرعت غوتشي بمليون يورو لصندوق استجابة التضامن كوفيد ‪،١٩‬‬ ‫وجمعت تبرعات بقيمة عشرة مليون دوالر امريكي لدعم منظمة الصحة العالمية‪.‬‬ ‫وقد أعلن كل من أليساندرو ميكيلي المدير اإلبداعي لغوتشي‬ ‫وماركو بيزاري الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي لشركة غوتشي‪ ،‬في رسالة‬ ‫عن المبادرة لموظفي الشركة حول العالم‪“ :‬هذا الوباء يدعونا إلى‬ ‫مهمة غير متوقعة‪ ،‬لكنها دعوة نرد عليها بحزم‪ ،‬داعمين العمل غير‬ ‫األناني الذي يقوم به العاملون الصحيون واألطباء والممرضات على‬ ‫الخطوط األمامية كل يوم في مكافحة وباء كوررونا في إيطاليا وبقية‬ ‫العالم‪ .‬إن كرمهم وشجاعتهم يضيئان طريقنا إلى األمام في هذه‬ ‫األيام الصعبة‪ ،‬من خالل دعم بعضنا البعض ومساعدة أولئك األكثر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ضعفا بيننا ‪ ،‬سنتمكن من التغلب على هذه األزمة‪ ،‬متحدين‪ ،‬حتى‬

‫أكثر من ذي قبل”‪.‬‬ ‫كما تم التبرع بمليوني يورو للجهود الشجاعة التي بذلتها إدارة الحماية‬ ‫المدنية الوطنية اإليطالية من خالل منصة التمويل الجماعي على‬ ‫الموقع اإللكتروني مخصص لذلك ‪ ،gucci.forfunding.it‬حيث يمكن‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا‪ ،‬وتم تخصيص‬ ‫لمجتمع غوتشي ‪ GucciCommunity#‬التبرع‬ ‫األموال من قبل إدارة الحماية المدنية الوطنية اإليطالية لتعزيز‬ ‫الخدمات والمنظمات الصحية اإليطالية التي تدير حالة الطوارئ‪ ،‬مع‬ ‫أسرة جديدة لوحدة العناية المركزة كأولوية‪.‬‬ ‫إنشاء ّ‬

‫دولتشي أند غابانا‬ ‫تعاونت دولتشي أند غابانا دار األزياء اإليطالية الشهيرة مع عالمة األزياء مع جامعة‬ ‫هيومانيتاس لمواجهة فيروس كورونا حيث ساهم هذا المشروع بتحديد المؤشرات الحيوية‬ ‫الشتداد المرض واألدوات العالجية في آن‪.‬‬

‫برادا‬ ‫دار األزياء اإليطالية أعلنت في بيان لها بالتبرع بستة وحدات للعناية المركزة واإلنعاش‪،‬‬ ‫للمستشفيات في البالد‪.‬‬

‫شانيل‬ ‫دار األزياء الفرنسية الشهيرة أعلنت خالل أزمة كورونا أن موظفينها سيقومون بتصنيع األقنعة‬ ‫واألثواب الوقائية لمحاربة كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫كما قدمت شانيل ‪ 1.2‬مليون يورو لصندوق طوارئ المستشفيات العامة‪ ،‬كما وعدت‬ ‫موظفينها براتب ثمانية أسابيع‪.‬‬

‫كريستيان ديور‬ ‫دار األزياء الفرنسية كريستيان ديور خصصت إحدى مصانعها في إنتاج كمامات للعاملين في‬ ‫متاجر السوبر ماركت والنقل وقامت بتوزيع األغذية للعديد من القطاعات التي كانت ما تزال‬ ‫تعمل أثناء تفشي فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬

‫مجموعة كيرينج‬ ‫تبرعت مجموعة كيرينج الشريك الفرنسي إلثنين من أشهر دور األزياء سان لوران وبالنسياجا‬ ‫بإعداد كمامات في مواجهة الفيروس‪.‬‬

‫ ‬ ‫بربري‬ ‫عالمة األزياء البريطانية بربري حولت جزء من آلية اإلنتاج الخاصة بها لصناعة أقنعة الوجه‬ ‫للطواقم الطبية في المملكة المتحدة‪ .‬وقالت بربري‪ ،‬التي تشتهر بمعاطفها األيقونية‪،‬‬ ‫إنها أعادت استخدام مصنع معاطف في كاسلفورد‪ ،‬يوركشاير‪ ،‬لصنع األثواب واألقنعة غير‬ ‫الجراحية للمرضى في مستشفيات المملكة المتحدة‪.‬‬

‫لويس فيتون‬ ‫دار األزياء الفرنسي لويس فيتون خصص العديد من ورش العمل الخاص بهم في فرنسا‬ ‫إلنتاج مئات اآلالف من أقنعة الوجه الغير جراحية للعاملين في الصفوف األمامية‪ .‬كما‬ ‫تبرعت بآالف من األثواب لـ‪ 6‬مستشفيات في باريس بحاجة ماسة إلى معدات واقية‪.‬‬

‫منصة إلكترونية لإلرشاد النفسي لفيروس كورونا‬ ‫تم إطالق منصة إلكترونية خاصة لإلرشاد النفسي لفيروس كورونا في الكويت‬ ‫‪ www.CoronaCareKw.com‬مجاناً حيث ضم الموقع أكثر من ‪ 100‬أخصائي وطبيب‬ ‫نفسي متطوع لجلسات اإلرشاد النفسي الشخصية المجانية عن طريق “الفيديو كول” لفئات‬ ‫في الصفوف األمامية والمرضى المصابين‏والمواطنين والمقيمين بالحجر المؤسسي‪.‬‬

‫قام بالتطوع في الموقع اإللكتروني ‪ 950‬شخصا‪ ،‬هناك منهم ‪ 200‬مرشد‬ ‫نفسي‪ ،‬ووقع االختيار على األطباء األكثر خبرة‪ ،‬للقيام بجلسات إرشاد‬ ‫نفسي عن بعد‪.‬‬

‫ الطواقم الطبية في الصفوف األمامية‬‫ من ثبت إصابته بمرض الكورونا‬‫‪ -‬المتواجدون في الحجر المؤسسي‬

‫ّ‬ ‫ويتبع البرنامج معايير صحية ُمعتمدة من قبل منظمة الصحة العالمية‪،‬‬ ‫وتفوق الطاقة االستيعابية له الـ‪ 300‬جلسة خالل األسبوع الواحد لتقديم‬ ‫ومساعدة كل من يتعرض للضغط النفسي خالل هذه‬ ‫النتائج المرجوة‪ُ ،‬‬ ‫األزمة‪.‬‬

‫وقد دعمت شركة زين لالتصاالت البرنامج الوطني لإلرشاد النفسي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫التزاما منها بتفعيل دورها الوطني‬ ‫للكورونا «‪ »Corona Care Kw‬وذلك‬ ‫خالل هذه األزمة‪ ،‬وبما يتماشى مع إستراتيجيتها للمسؤولية االجتماعية‬ ‫واالستدامة‪ ،‬لتعكس بذلك دور مؤسسات القطاع الخاص في دعم الجهود‬ ‫لمساندة الجهود الجبارة التي‬ ‫التطوعية التي يبذلها أبناء وبنات الكويت‪ُ ،‬‬ ‫تقوم بها الدولة للحفاظ على أمن واستقرار الوطن‪.‬‬

‫وتهدف المنصة إلى تقديم جلسات لإلرشاد النفسي خاصة أن بعض‬ ‫العاملين في المجال الطبي يتعرضون لمواقف صعبة‪ ،‬فهناك بعض‬ ‫حاالت الوفيات التي تحدث أمامهم‪ ،‬وهم عاجزين عن إنقاذهم‪ ،‬إضافة إلى‬ ‫حاالت أخرى في العناية المركزة‪.‬‬ ‫وهدفت المنصة إلى تقديم الرعاية النفسية عن طريق المقابالت اإلرشادية‬ ‫لألشخاص الذين يتعرضون للكثير من الغضوطات النفسية‪ ،‬وتم شملهم‬ ‫في ثالث فئات رئيسية‪:‬‬

‫وقامت شركة زين بدعم البرنامج التطوعي عن طريق تقديم خطوط‬ ‫المشرف على البرنامج لتسهيل التواصل فيما بينهم‪،‬‬ ‫مجانية‪ ،‬للفريق ُ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مجانا لنشر البرنامج‬ ‫الفتة إلى تقديم رسائل نصية قصيرة «‪»Bulk SMS‬‬ ‫والتعريف به داخل الكويت‪ ،‬ونشره والتعريف بأهدافه عبر وسائل التواصل‬ ‫وللمساهمة في الحفاظ‬ ‫االجتماعي الخاصة بها‪ ،‬ليصل إلى أكبر عدد ممكن‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫على الصحة النفسية داخل المجتمع‪.‬‬

‫لبنانيون من أجل الكويت‬ ‫بين الكويت ولبنان عالقة وطيدة يعود تاريخها إلى سنوات عديدة‪ ،‬وقد أثبتت العالقة‬ ‫المميزة بين الدولتين سواء على المستوى الحكومي أو الشعبي من خالل العديد من المواقف‬ ‫المشرفة للبلدين عبر التاريخ‪ .‬واليوم مع جائحة كورونا‪ ،‬سعت السفارة اللبنانية في الكويت من‬ ‫خالل الوفد الرسمي والجالية اللبنانية لرد الجميل عن طريق عدد من الحمالت والمساندات على‬ ‫أكثر من جبهة‪.‬‬

‫ومن ضمن الحمالت التي قامت بها الجالية اللبنانية في الكويت أطلق مجلس األعمال اللبناني‬ ‫بدعم من السفارة اللبنانية موقع “لبنانيون من أجل الكويت” تحت شعار “بيناتنا خبز وملح”‪،‬‬ ‫جاءت الحملة لحث اللبنانيين على المشاركة بكثافة من أجل التطوع‪ ،‬ووضع خبراتهم كل بمجاله‬ ‫في تصرف الدولة الكويتية كعربون وفاء وتقدير لما قدمته الكويت لهم من خير وأمان عندما‬ ‫احتضنتهم في غربتهم‪.‬‬

‫كما حثت السفارة أبناء الجالية اللبنانية في الكويت الوقوف إلى خلف سياسات حكومة الكويت‬ ‫وااللتزام بقراراتها والتقيد بتعليماتها بشأن مواجهة هذا الوباء‪ ،‬وبتبني مساعدة المتضررين‬ ‫والمتعسرين من اللبنانيين الذين يعيشون في الكويت‪ .‬باالضافة الى ذلك أنشأ المجلس “ خلية‬ ‫أزمة “ فور ظهور الوباء حيث قاموا بالتواصل مع العائالت المحتاجة بسبب األزمة االقتصادية التي‬ ‫ضربت بعض القطاعات بسبب التوقف عن العمل‪.‬‬

‫وقد صمم الموقع االلكتروني لفتح باب التطوع أمام اللبنانيين المقيمين في الكويت لخدمة‬ ‫وطنهم الثاني الكويت في المواقع التي تحتاج فيها لعديد من الكوادر البشرية في القطاع الطبي‬ ‫الغذائي وغيره‪ ،‬وقد وصل عدد المتطوعين في اليوم األول إلى ‪ 250‬لبناني من مختلف الميادين‬ ‫مبدين استعدادهم للنزول على االرض ومؤازرة اخوانهم الكويتيين‪ .‬كما أعلن األطباء اللبنانيون في‬ ‫الكويت أعلنوا رغبتهم بالتطوع في الصفوف األمامية لمحاربة الفيروس‪.‬‬

‫كما قام “مجلس األعمال اللبناني” حملة واسعة للتبرعات‪ ،‬بالتعاون مع جمعية الهالل األحمر‬ ‫الكويتي‪ ،‬لمساعدة الشعب اللبناني في مكافحة كورونا‪.‬‬

‫تحدثنا إلى صاحبة مبادرة العمل التطوعي في الكويت التابع للجالية الهندية “منميت كور‬ ‫سيثي” لنتعرف أكثر على بداية عملها التطوعي خالل أزمة كورونا‪ ،‬وقالت‪“ :‬بدأنا العمل التطوعي‬ ‫بشكل عفوي‪ ،‬بداية قمنا بتوزيع سالل غذائية لبعض األسر المحتاجة‪ ،‬وأحد األشخاص الذين‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كبيرا من األسر ال تمتلك قوت يومها وذلك في‬ ‫عددا‬ ‫قمنا بمساعدتهم أبلغتنا أن هناك‬ ‫منطقة جليب الشيوخ‪ ،‬وطلبنا منها أن تزودنا بعددهم‪ .‬وبعد أيام قليلة أبلغتنا أنه هناك ‪200‬‬ ‫أسرة في ‪ 10‬عمارات بحاجة إلى المساعدة‪ ،‬وبذلك أصبح هدفنا توفير ‪ 2000‬سلة غذائية‪.‬‬ ‫وعن كيفية تأمين عدد هذه السالل الغذائية‪ ،‬قالت سيثي‪“ :‬بدأت بطلب المساعدة من‬ ‫األصدقاء والمقربين لنكون ً‬ ‫يدا بيد ونساهم في تأمين الغذاء الالزم لهذه األسر وتفاجأت من‬ ‫ردة الفعل وتفاعل الجميع ورغبتهم بالمساعدة‪ .‬منهم من قدم سالل غذائية وآخرون مبالغ‬ ‫مادية‪”.‬‬ ‫تابعت حديثها قائلة‪“ :‬الصعوبات تمثلت في كيفية شراء المواد الغذائية بكميات كبيرة‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كبيرا في تأمين طلبنا بأسعار‬ ‫دعما‬ ‫لذلك تواصلت مع شركات الموارد الغذائية حيث قدموا لنا‬ ‫مناسبة‪ .‬كما أنهم قدموا لنا بعض المواد الغذائية التي تنتهي مدة صالحيتها في وقت قريب‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وأحيانا بسعر التكلفة‪ .‬كما أن بعض الشركات قدموا مواد غذائية كمساهمة‬ ‫بشكل مجاني‬ ‫منهم في هذا العمل التطوعي‪ .‬وبفضل المساعي والجهود من مختلف األفراد لم نوفر فقط‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا ‪ 8194‬سلة إضافية‪”.‬‬ ‫‪ 2400‬سلة غذائية‪ ،‬بل وفرنا‬ ‫وفي بداية هذا العمل‪ ،‬تقول سيثي‪“ :‬بدأت باعداد السالل الغذائية في منزلي الخاص مع‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عددا‬ ‫أسرتي وأطفالي ووالد زوجي والعامالت في المنزل وبعض األصدقاء‪ .‬وفيما بعد تطوع‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا من سكان منطقة‬ ‫من األشخاص معنا إلعداد السالل وتوزيعها‪ ،‬وكان بعض المتطوعين‬ ‫جليب الشيوخ والمهبولة حيث كانوا يساعدونا في الوصول إلى األسر المحتاجة والتوزيع‪”.‬‬

‫وتشيد سيثي بتعاون شرطة الكويت بالتزامن مع عزل منطقة جليب الشيوخ والمهبولة حيث حددوا‬ ‫لهم نقاط لتوزيع السالل الغذائية من خالل عمل منظم وتوفير سيارتين محملة بالمساعدات‬ ‫وتوزيعها لألشخاص المسجلين‪ .‬كما أن األشخاص المرخصين بالتجول خالل فترات الحظر ساعدوا‬ ‫الفريق لتوصيل السالل خالل تلك الفترة‪.‬‬ ‫وفيما بعد توسعت دائرة المساعدات حيث تلقت سيثي اتصاالت هاتفية من أسر محتاجة في‬ ‫الفروانية‪ ،‬حولي‪ ،‬السالمية‪ ،‬سلوى‪ ،‬الجهراء وغيرها من المناطق‪ .‬وتحول هذا النشاط إلى عمل‬ ‫لوجيستي متكامل بداية مع استقبال االتصاالت وتأمين التبرعات والسالل لتحديد مواعيد‬ ‫التوصيل وطلبات خاصة أخرى‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كبيرا من‬ ‫عددا‬ ‫أيضا أن نؤمن مسلتزمات األطفال األساسية وقد تبرع‬ ‫وتقول سيثي‪“ :‬وحرصنا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا بتوزيعها‪”.‬‬ ‫الناس بألعاب األطفال التي قمنا‬ ‫وخالل شهر رمضان المبارك تم توزيع الوجبات الجاهزة قبل موعد اإلفطار‪ ،‬كما أن أحد أصحاب‬ ‫المزارع تبرع بالخضروات‪.‬‬ ‫وعلى صعيد آخر ومع إصدار وزارة الداخلية في الكويت قرار السماح لمخالفي اإلقامة بالسفر‪ ،‬قالت‬ ‫سيثي‪ “ :‬شاهدنا مجموعة من ‪ 80‬شخص من الجالية الهندية في منطقة الفروانية‪ ،‬حيث كانوا‬ ‫ينامون في الشارع بسبب عدم قدرتهم على اإللتحاق والتسجيل بقرار السماح‪ ،‬تواصلت مع الجهات‬ ‫المسؤولة في الدولة وتمكنا من مساعدتهم وتأمين مسكن لهم لحين تحديد موعد سفرهم‪”.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تقريبا ومساهمات فردية وجماعية استطاعنا أن نساهم في دعم‬ ‫مع تطوع أكثر من ‪ 35‬شخص‬ ‫الهالل األحمر الكويتي‪ ،‬اتحاد كيرال‪ ،‬اتحاد الفليبين وعدد من الجمعيات الخيرية الصغيرة‪.‬‬

‫العمل التطوعي أسمى أنواع العطاء‬ ‫نور العبيد‬ ‫نور العبيد فتاة كويتية وناشطة إجتماعية على مواقع التواصل اإلجتماعي‪ ،‬وكان لها دور‬ ‫أساسي وبصمة مميزة في مجال العمل التطوعي خالل أزمة كورونا العالمية‪ ،‬وسخرت جميع‬ ‫امكانيتها وقدراتها بمبادرة فردية ومن دون أي مساعدة في بداية األمر حيث قررت أن تقدم‬ ‫المساعدات لألسر واألفراد المحتاجين من جراء جائحة كورونا حيث أن عدداً منهم قد خسر‬ ‫وظيفته ولم يعد يملك الدخل الكافي لشراء المواد األساسية من مسلتزمات الغذاء وغيرها‪.‬‬ ‫في البداية قالت نور العبيد‪“ :‬ما إن بدأت جائحة كورونا في الكويت في نهاية شهر فبراير‪ ،‬ومع‬ ‫إغالق جميع المؤسسات الخاصة والحكومية في منتصف شهر مارس شعرت مباشرة بمعاناة‬ ‫بعض األفراد واألسر الذين فقدوا مدخولهم سواء الشهري واليومي وقررت مباشرة بتوفير‬ ‫صناديق تتضمن الخضروات والفواكه الطازجة وبعض المواد الغذائية التي تؤمن احتياجات ‪ 6‬أفراد‬ ‫ً‬ ‫قليال‪”.‬‬ ‫من األسرة لمدة شهر أو أكثر‬ ‫وتابعت‪“ :‬بدأت بتوزيع الوجبات الغذائية على العائالت المحتاجة‪ ،‬ولكن مع بداية الحظر الجزئي كان‬ ‫من الصعب الوصول إلى المناطق المعزولة التي تحتاج إلى تصاريح وكان يصعب علينا الحصول‬ ‫عليها‪”.‬‬ ‫وعن تجربتها في مجال العمل التطوعي قالت العبيد‪“ :‬نشأت في أسرة تحفز على العمل التطوعي‬ ‫واإلنخراط بما يحدث في المجتمع‪ ،‬وهذا كان أكبر داعم وحافز لالستمرار في هذا العمل الذي القى‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫واسعا رغم صعوبات التنقل والحركة خاصة مع وجود عزل لبعض المناطق والحظر الجزئي‬ ‫صدا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫دائما وتحفزني على‬ ‫وتاله الحظر الكلي‪ .‬لكن أسرتي كانت الداعم األساسي وكانت والدتي تدعمني‬ ‫اإلستمرار في هذا العمل وتوزيع الوجبات بالرغم من المخاطر التي قد تترتب من جراء تطوعنا ‪”.‬‬

‫وتؤكد أنها شعرت باإلحباط في بعض األيام من جراء الضغوطات النفسيه والصعوبة في التنقل‬ ‫لكنها عملت جاهدة على تخطي ذلك حتى تحقق الهدف المنشود وتقديم المساعدة الالزمة‬ ‫للمحتاجين في وقت يعتبر من أصعب األوقات التي قد يمر بها أي شخص‪ .‬وأضافت أن تعاون‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا ومساعدة األسر المحتاجة خاصة من‬ ‫عدد من الشركات والمؤسسات في تقديم يد العون‬ ‫ً‬ ‫محفزا لالستمرار‪.‬‬ ‫الجاليات اآلسيوية أصحاب الدخل المحدود كان‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كثيرا أوضاع بعض العمال الذين‬ ‫وعن أصعب المواقف التي تعرضت لها‪ ،‬قالت العبيد‪“ :‬ألمني‬ ‫ً‬ ‫نظرا لجائحة كورونا‪،‬حيث أن ذلك قد أثر على قدرتهم في دفع‬ ‫انقطع عنهم معاشهم الشهري‬ ‫اإليجارات المترتبه عليهم وحتى تأمين أبسط المستلزمات اليومية وأساسيات الحياة‪”.‬‬ ‫وتقول العبيد‪“ :‬وقد عانت بعض العائالت من الصعوبات الكبيرة حيث أن البعض منهم كانوا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تجنبا للضغوطات التي يتعرضون بسبب تأخرهم في دفع‬ ‫يشعرون بالخوف من مغادرة منازلهم‬ ‫اإليجارات‪”.‬‬ ‫وتقول العبيد‪ “ :‬في بداية عملي كنت أتواصل مع العائالت عبر مواقع التواصل اإلجتماعي والذين‬ ‫بدورهم كانوا يزودوني بأرقام األسر المحتاجة‪”.‬‬ ‫وتحدثت العبيد عن التقدير واإلمتنان الذي لمسته عند األسر واألفراد الذين حصلوا على هذه‬ ‫المساعدات وإن كانت بسيطة ً‬ ‫جدا‪ ،‬واعتبرت أن هذا هو الهدف األساسي من العمل التطوعي‪.‬‬ ‫وأشارت أن بعض األسر كانت تقوم بتصوير المساعدات مع كلمات شكر وامتنان وتقوم بنشرها‬ ‫على مواقع التواصل اإلجتماعي‪.‬‬ ‫كما أنها استغلت صفحتها الرسمية على االنستجرام @‪ noorthatbakes‬بتخصيص بعض‬ ‫الفيديوهات والمنشورات للتوعية من فيروس كورونا‪-‬كوفيد ‪.19‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معنويا إلتمام هذا‬ ‫ماديا أو‬ ‫وبعد مرور فترة‪ ،‬تطوع العديد من األشخاص من تلقاء أنفسهم سواء‬ ‫العمل الخيري على أكمل وجه‪.‬‬

‫كما أن عملها لم يتوقف عند هذا الحد‪ ،‬فقد التقت ببعض األشخاص المشردين الذين لم يكن‬ ‫لديهم مأوى حيث تم تأمين منازل مؤقته لحين اإلنتهاء من أوراقهم ليتمكنوا من مغادرة البالد‪.‬‬ ‫وفي الختام أكدت أن هذه الجائحة وبالرغم من سلبياتها إال أنها كانت فرصة للقيام بهذا العمل‬ ‫وإثبات أن أي شخص قادر على المساعدة‪.‬‬

‫‪MEN’S PASSION‬‬

‫وفي هذا السياق‪ ،‬تحدث العامر أنه قرر أن يمارس دوره كإعالمي حيث أن هذا أقل ما يمكن‬ ‫أن يقدمه للكويت من منطلق الحس الوطني فقام باستغالل صفحاته على مواقع التواصل‬ ‫اإلجتماعي في نشر التوعية والمعلومات المهمة التي تهم كل من المواطن والمقيم‪.‬‬

‫كما قام العامر بتغطية إعالمية في المحاجر الصحية وتغطية افتتاح مراكز الفحص في مواقف‬ ‫ركاب طيران الجزيرة واستاد جابر‪.‬‬

‫وقال العامر ‪« :‬البداية كانت عن طريق فيديو توعوي لدحض اإلشاعات حيث تم التعاون مع فريق‬ ‫عمل لنشر المعلومات الصحيحة للتوعية واإللتزام بالتباعد اإلجتماعي وعدم الخروج إال للضرورة‬ ‫بناء على توصيات وزارة الصحة‪ ،‬حيث تم تصوير الفيديو في أكثر من مكان من ضمنها‬ ‫القصوى ً‬ ‫مطار الكويت الدولي والجمعيات التعاونية‪”.‬‬

‫وتابع العامر‪« :‬هنا ال يسعني إال أن أشكر االيادي البيضاء ومن ابرزهم شركة عبد المحسن عبد‬ ‫العزيز البابطين حيث قاموا بتقديم أحدث سياراتهم ا تحت تصرف للطيران المدني وفريق الدعم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الحقا كعضو من اإلدارة‪ .‬كما تم‬ ‫اللوجستي من اإلدارة العامة للطيران المدني حيث تم تسجيلي‬ ‫توفير سيارات لجمعية الهالل األحمر لتوصيل الركاب إلى منازلهم‪”.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫فضال عن تغطيات إعالمية للفريق التطوعي الكويتي «هوب» الذي يترأسه وزير الصحة‬ ‫هذا‬ ‫السابق الدكتور محمد الجارالله تحت مظلة وزارة الشؤون والهيئة العامة لشؤن اإلعاقة حيث‬ ‫سخروا اماكنيتهم في تصنيع قناع واق للوجه‪ .‬وتغطيات العمل التطوعي في الجمعيات التعاونية‪.‬‬

‫وتابع العامر‪« :‬خالل تصوير الفيديو ألمنا مشهد مطار الكويت الدولي الذي يخلو من المسافرين‬ ‫حيث استذكرنا فترة الغزو العراقي الغاشم سنة ‪”.1990‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫اتصاال من وزارة المالية التي ما زالت تعمل بالرغم‬ ‫ومن بعد انتشار الفيديو التوعوي‪ ،‬تلقى العامر‬ ‫من إغالق البلد حيث أن المالية هي الجهة المخصصة لصرف المعاشات وتحديد الميزانيات‬ ‫وتنفيذ في القرارت التي تتخذها الدولة فيما تتعلق باألمور المالية‪.‬‬

‫كما شارك العامر في حملة تعقيم الشوارع والمناطق في الكويت تحت مظلة واشراف وزارة‬ ‫الداخلية وبلدية الكويت وذلك بعد تبرع شركة الغانم انترناشونال بالمعدات الثقيلة الخاصة‬ ‫بالتعقيم‪.‬‬

‫وأضاف‪« :‬بعد التنسيق تم تحديد موعد مع وزير المالية السيد براك الشيتان وقابلنا الموظفين‬ ‫وفريق ادارة الضيافة في الوزارة وهم بدر الصالل ومحمد العوضي ويوسف الفياض المختصين‬ ‫في تنفيذ قرارت الدولة عن طريق ابرام العقود وحجز المحاجر وإلى ما هنالك‪”.‬‬

‫وبفضل الجهود الكبيرة التي قام بها محمد العامر قامت أحد اللجان في مجلس الوزراء الخاص‬ ‫بجائحة كورونا بالتواصل معه وتسجيل العامر ضمن فريق العمل لتقديم وتوفير المواد اإلعالمية‪.‬‬

‫وعن أبرز التغطيات اإلعالمية‪ ،‬قال العامر‪“ :‬قمت بتغطية عمل موظفي الطيران المدني‬ ‫واستعداداتهم بداية من التعقيم والتنظيف الخاصة برحالت اإلجالء‪ .‬وذلك بعد طلب أمير البالد‬ ‫سمو الشيخ صباح األحمد الجابر الصباح حفظه الله ورعاه بعودة المواطنين في أكبر عملية إجالء‬ ‫في تاريخ الكويت وبرقم قياسي يفوق ل ‪ 180‬رحلة طيران‪”.‬‬

‫وأشار العامر‪« :‬من المواقف التي تركت ً‬ ‫أثرا في نفوسنا هو انتظار األهل ألبنائهم الطلبة بعد‬ ‫ً‬ ‫نظرا التباع االجراءات الصحية والتباعد‬ ‫غياب أشهر وعدم قدرتهم على لمهم والتعبير عن االشتياق‬ ‫اإلجتماعي‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى الدعم الذي لمسناه من القادمين من الخارج وكلمات الشكر حيث يعتبر‬ ‫هذا األمر تشجيع للصفوف األمامية وتقديراً لجهودهم‪”.‬‬

‫وشارك العامر في تغطيات رحالت عودة الكويتين عن طريق كل من طيران الجزيرة و الطيران‬ ‫القطري‪ .‬وكانت هذه التغطيات لحظة بلحظة من أول طيارة إلى آخر طيارة وتم تغطية نشاط‬ ‫اإلدارة العامة لإلطفاء وادارة الطوارئ لالسعافات الطبية‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى تغطية رحالت اجالء‬ ‫الوافدين من مطار الكويت الدولي إلى بالدهم‪.‬‬

‫وختم العامر أن هذه التجربة خلقت ثقة أكبر بينه وبين المتابعين سواء من المواطنين أو المقيمين‬ ‫ً‬ ‫بعيدا عن اإلشاعات والكالم الغير‬ ‫في الكويت حيث أنه حرص على تقديم المعلومة كما هي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا التي قدرت وأثنت هذا‬ ‫صحيح‪ ،‬والتي بدورها ساهمت في خلق ثقه بينه وبين الشركات‬ ‫المجهود والتعب خالل فترة جائحة كورونا‪.‬‬

‫حمالت خيرية‬ ‫ً‬ ‫صندوقا تحت‬ ‫إطالق حملة «الكويت تستاهل» من قبل فواز خالد يوسف المرزوق التي تتضمن‬ ‫ً‬ ‫دعما للجهود الحكومية‪.‬‬ ‫مظلة الحكومة الكويتية لجمع التبرعات‬ ‫تحت شعار «فزعة الكويت» أطلقت الهيئة الخيرية اإلسالمية العالمية بالتعاون مع ‪ 41‬جمعية‬ ‫خيرية لجمع التبرعات الشعبية لدعم جهود الحكومة في التصدي للفيروس‪.‬‬

‫منظمة الصحة العالمية‬

‫ً‬ ‫دعما لجهودها في مكافحة كورونا‪ ،‬وجاء تقسيمها‬ ‫مبلغ ‪ 40‬مليون دوالر لمنظمة الصحة العالمية‬ ‫على الشكل اآلتي‪:‬‬ ‫ماليين دوالر إلعانة منظمة الصحة العالمية في مكافحة فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫‪ 10‬ماليين دوالر للجمهورية اإلسالمية اإليرانية كمساعدات إنسانية‪.‬‬ ‫مساعدات مادية إلى الدول التي تحتاج دعم وفق تقدير منظمة الصحة العالمية‪ ،‬لكل من العراق فلسطين‪.‬‬ ‫‪ 3‬ماليين دوالر للصين لمكافحة هذا الوباء‪.‬‬ ‫‪ 60‬مليون دوالر لصالح تمويل برامج االستجابة للتصدي لجائحة فيروس كورونا في العالم‪.‬‬

‫تأجيل سداد أقساط القروض الحسنة المقدمة من بيت الزكاة لمدة ‪ 6‬أشهر‪.‬كما ساهم بيت‬ ‫الزكاة بمبلغ ‪ 500‬ألف دينار لصالح دعم جهود وزارة الصحة في مساعيها االحترازية لمنع انتشار‬ ‫الفيروس‪.‬‬

‫منشآت تحت تصرف وزارة الصحة‬

‫حمالت التوعوية الخاصة بالهالل األحمر‪ ،‬وتوزيع سالل غذائية لألسر المحتاجة‪.‬‬

‫وضعت شركة نفط الكويت كل إمكاناتها الصحية واللوجستية في تصرف وزارة الصحة‪.‬‬

‫حكومة الكويت حكومة اإلنسانية دائماً وأبداً‬

‫ً‬ ‫أيضا‪.‬‬ ‫األندية الرياضية وضعت جميع منشآتها وصاالتها المغطاة تحت تصرف الوزارة‬

‫لطالما كانت الكويت السباقة في المجال اإلنساني على مدى السنوات‪ ،‬وال يمكن أن تمر أزمة‬ ‫عالمية وأن ال نشاهد عطاء الكويت السخي للدول على الصعيد األقليمي والعالمي‪.‬‬ ‫ومن هذا المنطلق وبتوجيهات سامية من صاحب السمو أمير البالد الشيخ صباح األحمد الجابر‬ ‫الصباح حفظه الله ورعاه‪ ،‬كان للكويت بصمة واضحة في هذا المجال‪ ،‬حيث أشاد مديرعام منظمة‬ ‫الصحة العالمية‪ ،‬تيدروس غيبرييسوس‪ ،‬في تصريح له‪ ‬بالدعم السخي الذي تبرعت به الكويت‬ ‫لمحاربة فيروس كورونا المستجد‪ .‬وجاءت التبرعات على الشكل التالي‪:‬‬

‫الهيئة العامة للرياضة لشؤون الصيانة واإلنشاءات والمرافق وضعت كافة منشآتها تحت تصرف‬ ‫وزارة الصحة‪.‬‬

‫شركة عبداهلل حمد الصقر وإخوانه‬

‫شركة عبدالله حمد الصقر وإخوانه تبرعت بمبلغ مليون دينار كويتي‪ ،‬تحت تصرف وزير الصحة‬ ‫وبناء على وجوه اإلنفاق التي يقررها‪ .‬وأضافت الشركة في بيان «حفظ‬ ‫الدكتور باسل الصباح‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الله الكويت وأهلها والمقيمين على أرضها من كل مكروه‪ ،‬وأنعم بالصحة والسالمة على عباده‬ ‫أجمعين»‪.‬‬ ‫شركة الغانم انترناشونال‬ ‫وفرت شركة الغانم انترناشونال للسيد فؤاد الغانم ‪ 1000‬من المعدات الثقيله من «شركة‬ ‫المساحة» التابعة لشركة الغانم انترناشونال وسخروها تحت تصرف الدولة‪ .‬لتعقيم الشوارع‪.‬‬ ‫شركة عبد المحسن عبد العزيز البابطين‬ ‫قامت الشركة بتقديم أحدث سيارات انفنتي ونيسان تحت تصرف للطيران المدني وفريق الدعم‬ ‫اللوجستي من اإلدارة العامة للطيران المدني وجمعية الهالل اإلحمر‪.‬‬ ‫شركة إسمنت الكويت‬ ‫شركة إسمنت الكويت تبرعت بمبلغ ‪ 250‬ألف دينار لصندوق مساهمات مواجهة انتشار‬ ‫فيروس‪ ‬كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫مجموعة التمدين العقارية‬ ‫مجموعة التمدين هي أول الشركات التي بادرت بتخفيض االيجارات لمدة ‪ 4‬أشهر لجميع‬ ‫مستثمريها في المجمعات التجارية مول ‪ ،360‬مجمع الكويت ومجمع سما‪.‬‬ ‫كلية الكويت للعلوم والتكنولوجيا‬ ‫كلية الكويت للعلوم والتكنولوجيا ‪ -KCST‬وبالتعاون مع حملة ‪ Shield‬سخرت مختبرات التطوير‬ ‫الخاصة بها تحت تصرف وزارة الصحة‪.‬‬

‫الدفاع المدني الكويتي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫قرارا‬ ‫تم اإلعالن في بداية األزمة عن إصدار‪ ‬مجلس الوزراء‪ ‬‬ ‫بتكليف‪ ‬اإلدارة العامة للدفاع المدني‪ ‬باستقبال كل طلبات التطوع‬ ‫وتلبية حاجة كافة األجهزة الحكومية منها‪ .‬وعليه فلعب الدفاع‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مهما خالل أزمة كورونا من خالل تسخير جميع‬ ‫دورا‬ ‫المدني الكويتي‬ ‫اإلمكانيات في مساعدة أجهزة الدولة عن طريق توفير خليات عمل‬ ‫تطوعي تعمل على حسب ما تقتضي الحاجة‪ ،‬ومع فتح باب التطوع‬ ‫في البالد تقدم أكثر من ‪ 25‬ألف شخص‪.‬‬ ‫وحرص الدفاع المدني الكويتي على تدريب المتطوعين لمواجهة‬ ‫حاالت الطوارئ واتخاذ اإلجراءات ذات الصلة في التصدي لوباء‬ ‫كورونا‪ .‬وتولى الدفاع المدني قطاعات معينة من ضمنها العمل في‬ ‫الجمعيات ووفق االجراءات الصحية الوقائية التي قررتها السلطات‬ ‫الصحية‪.‬‬ ‫وقد تم وضع الضوابط التنظيمية الالزمة فيما يتعلق بجوانب‬ ‫التدريب والتأهيل والمحافظة على سالمة المتطوعين وكل ما يحقق‬ ‫أفضل النتائج‪.‬‬ ‫كما تم العمل على توفير سكن عمال الجمعيات في أماكن محددة‬ ‫لتجنب اختالطهم مع اآلخرين في مراكز التجمعات السكانية الكثيفة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫سببا في انتشار الوباء‪.‬‬ ‫والتي قد تكون‬ ‫والجدير بالذكر أنه يوجد في الكويت نحو ‪ 75‬جمعية تعاونية منتشرة‬ ‫في كافة أرجاء البالد‪ ،‬وتعتمد هذه الجمعيات بشكل كبير على‬ ‫العمالة الوافدة من مختلف الجنسيات‪.‬‬ ‫جمعية الهالل األحمر الكويتي‬

‫كانت جمعية الهالل األحمر في مقدمة مؤسسات المجتمع المدني‬ ‫التي لعبت دورا كبيرا في التصدي لـ «كورونا‪-‬كوفيد ‪ ،»١٩‬حتى قبل‬ ‫اإلعالن الرسمي عن إصابات بالفيروس في الكويت‪ .‬فجمعية‬ ‫الهالل األحمر هي الذراع الرئيسية لألعمال اإلنسانية في الدولة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وفقا التفاقيات جنيف‪ ،‬وهي تعمل في ظل ظروف استثنائية‬ ‫بشكل حيادي وشفاف‪ .‬كما تعمل الجمعية على توفير سبل اإلعاشة‬ ‫الكريمة للشعوب عبر توزيع المواد الغذائية واألدوية وغيرها‪.‬‬ ‫ضمن حملة «من أجل الكويت اقعد بالبيت” التي أطلقتها الجمعية‬ ‫تم من خاللها توزيع آالف السالل الغذائية لألشخاص الغير قادرين‬ ‫على تأمين قوت يومهم‪ .‬وكذلك تم إطالق تبرعات “أون الين”‬ ‫تفاعل معها كثير من أصحاب الخير لمساعدة المحتاجين‪.‬‬ ‫كما أن الجمعية وقفت إلى جانب المحتاجين في هذه األزمة‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أوضاعا مالية صعبة‪ ،‬ويعملون‬ ‫خصوصا العمال الذين يعانون‬ ‫باليومية ومن ذوي الدخل والرواتب المتدنية‪ ،‬مثل حراس المدارس‬ ‫ً‬ ‫شهرا‪.‬‬ ‫والمقابر‪ ،‬حيث تم تزويدهم بسالل غذائية تكفيهم‬ ‫وشاركت جمعية الهالل األحمر في مبادرة «نحميكم» من خالل‬ ‫قياس الحرارة لمرتادي الجمعيات التعاونية‪ ،‬فضال عن توزيع‬ ‫الكمامات والمعقمات على عدد كبير من مؤسسات الدولة ووزاراتها‬ ‫ً‬ ‫فضال عن عمل المتطوعين في المحاجر‬ ‫ودور الرعاية والسجون‪.‬‬ ‫الرئيسية مع وزارة الصحة‪.‬‬ ‫كما قامت الجمعية بعمل توعوي كبير من خالل إصدار بروشورات‬ ‫وكتيبات صغيرة عن أعراض الفيروس وكيفية الوقاية منه‪ ،‬وتم‬ ‫توزيعها على الجمعيات واألماكن العامة‪ ،‬لتوعية الرواد بهذا الفيروس‪.‬‬ ‫وما زال عمل مؤسسات المجتمع المدني مستمر‬ ‫الصورة‪ :‬جريدة الجريدة الكويتية‬

‫مؤسسات المجتمع المدني‬ ‫يحاربون كورونا‬ ‫آالف المتطوعين لبوا نداء الوطن‪ ،‬وآخرون لم يتوانوا في أداء الواجب‪ ،‬حيث أظهرت أزمة كورونا أن‬ ‫العمل التطوعي سمة من سمات المجتمع الكويتي‪ ،‬ولم يقتصر التطوع على الكويتين فقط بل أن‬ ‫الوافدين استغلوا هذه الفرصه لرد الجميل للكويت من خالل التطوع أيضاً لبلد اإلنسانية‪.‬‬ ‫وخالل أزمة كورونا كان لمؤسسات المجتمع المدني دوراً مهماً وكبيراً في خدمة المجتمع إلى جانب‬ ‫وزارة الصحة ومختلف الوزارات والجهات المسؤولة عن التصدي ألزمة لفيروس كورونا المستجد‪.‬‬ ‫سنسلط الضوء على مؤسستين رائدتين في هذا المجال‪ ،‬وهما الدفاع المدني الكويتي وجمعية‬ ‫الهالل األحمر الكويتي‪.‬‬

‫مستشفيات ميدانية‬ ‫ضمن إطار خطة الطوارئ في مواجهة فيروس كورونا‪-‬كوفيد‪ ١٩‬سارعت الكويت مع‬ ‫ازدياد عدد الحاالت إلى بناء مستشفيات ميدانية في مختلف مناطق الكويت للمساعدة في الحد‬ ‫من انتشار الفيروس والسيطرة على الوباء ومعالجة المصابين‪ .‬فض ًال إلى تخصيص مرافق طبية‬ ‫خاصة للفحص وفق معايير وزارة الصحة‪.‬‬

‫وجهزته شركة نفط الكويت والشركة الكويتية للصناعات البترولية المتكاملة (كيبك) في أرض المعارض‬ ‫“مستشفى الكويت الميداني” الذي أنشأته‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫بمنطقة مشرف‪ ،‬مع مرافق طبية متخصصة إضافة إلى خدمات الرعاية للمراجعين‪ ،‬وفق أعلى المعايير الصحية للمستشفى الميداني الذي تم‬ ‫إنشاؤه في أرض المعارض بطاقة إستيعابية تصل إلى نحو ‪ 1400‬سرير‪.‬‬ ‫المسشتفى الميداني والمحجر الصحي اللذين قامت بإنشائهما وزارة األشغال العامة‪ ،‬بالتعاون مع وزارة الصحة بمنطقة العارضية‪ ،‬والتي تضمنت‬ ‫قاعات الفحص والكشف الطبي ووحدات العناية المركزة وغرف العزل والصيدليات‪،‬وكذلك وحدات السكن واإلقامة المخصصة للطاقمين الطبي‬ ‫والتمريضي‪.‬‬ ‫وزارة الدفاع عملت على إنشاء ‪ 3‬مستشفيات ميدانية في مدارس منطقة جليب الشيوخ لفحص وعالج المصابين في المنطقة بالتنسيق مع وزارة‬ ‫الصحة إلجراء عمليات مسح شامل وأخذ عينات من جميع سكان منطقة جليب الشيوخ كل قطعة على حدة‪.‬‬ ‫جهزت رئاسة األركان العامة للجيش ممثلة بهيئة الخدمات الطبية‪ ،‬مستشفى ميدانيا ومحجرا صحيا‪ ،‬وذلك بالتنسيق مع وزارة الصحة في ‪ 3‬مواقع‬ ‫بمنطقة جليب الشيوخ‪ ،‬حيث ان المواقع التي تم تخصيصها هي مدرستان لوزارة التربية ومركز من الهيئة العامة للشباب والرياضة‪.‬‬

‫بتوجيهات سامية من األمير‬ ‫‪ 31‬ألف مواطن عادووا إلى أرض الكويت جواً و‪ 4350‬براً‬

‫ال تتوانى الكويت في الحفاظ على ابناء وطنها أينما كانوا‪ ،‬وال تتردد بتكريس كافة اإلمكانيات‬ ‫والقدرات في توفير سبل األمان والراحة لهم‪ .‬ومن ان بدأت جائحة كورونا‪-‬كوفيد ‪ ١٩‬تنتشر بدول‬ ‫العالم‪ ،‬سارعت الكويت إلتخاذ كل التدابير واإلجراءات الالزمة لتوفير الراحة لهم بداية من أماكن‬ ‫تواجدهم في دول العالم حيث تم التنسيق مع سفارات الكويت في تلك الدول لمتابعه أحوالهم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وصوال إلى عودتهم إلى أرض الوطن‪.‬‬ ‫على مختلف األصعدة‪،‬‬ ‫اإلجالء الجوي‬ ‫بتوجيهات من سمو أمير البالد الشيخ صباح األحمد الجابر الصباح حفظه الله ورعاه عاد إلى أرض‬ ‫الكويت أبناء الوطن في أضخم رحالت إجالء جوية في الكويت حيث وصل ما يقارب ‪ 31‬ألف‬ ‫مواطن من شتى بقاع العالم‪.‬‬ ‫وهذا وقد أكد سموه على ضرورة إعادة أبناء الوطن قبل حلول شهر رمضان لكي يشارك ُأسر‬ ‫العائدين فرحتهم بعودة ذويهم‪.‬‬ ‫كما ودعا أمير الكويت المواطنين العائدين من الخارج إلى التزام الحجر الصحى‪ ،‬وكذلك استمرار‬ ‫التزام التعليمات الصادرة على الجهات المعنية للسيطرة على هذا الفيروس‪ ،‬ألن الدولة الكويتية‬ ‫لن تنجح دون التزام اإلجراءات الصحية‪.‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫«سخرت منذ ظهور هذا الفيروس وقبل انتشاره جهودها‬ ‫كما أكد الشيخ صباح األحمد أن بالده‬

‫كافة‪ ،‬وعززت إجراءاتها الصحية والوقائية‪ ،‬واتخذت مختلف التدابير الالزمة لمواجهته وفق أعلى‬ ‫المعايير الصحية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية‪ ،‬وبشكل متميز حظي بإشادة دولية واسعة؛ وذلك‬ ‫ً‬ ‫حفاظا على صحة المواطنين والمقيمين»‪.‬‬ ‫وسخرت دولة الكويت كل إمكانياتها في تسهيل رحالت اإلجالء لتتطابق مع شروط المعايير‬ ‫والسالمة واإلجراءات الصحية كافة من دون استثناء من نقطة اإلنطالق إلى نقطة الوصول‪،‬‬ ‫حيث كان يتم فحص العائدين فور وصولهم وتقييم الحاالت الصحية بهدف السيطرة على‬ ‫المرض وعلى أرواح الشعب‪.‬‬ ‫والجدير بالذكر في هذه الرحالت أن الكويت أرسلت طائرة مخصصة إلجالء مواطن واحد فقط من‬ ‫العاصمة السنغالية دكار‪.‬‬ ‫اإلجالء البري‬ ‫وبعد اإلنتهاء من الرحالت الجوية‪ ،‬بدأت خطة رحالت اإلجالء البري للمواطنين العالقين في الدول‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا جاءت بتوجيهات سامية من صاحب السمو أمير البالد وسمو ولي العهد‪،‬‬ ‫المجاورة والتي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مواطنا‪.‬‬ ‫ومتابعة وارشادات وتعليمات مستمرة من سمو رئيس مجلس الوزراء حيث عاد ‪٤٣٥٠‬‬ ‫وقد تعاونت وزارات الدولة ومنها وزارة الصحة والداخلية والمالية ممثله بالجمارك وغيرها من‬ ‫القطاعات في هذه الرحالت‪.‬‬

‫“لن نسمح بأن تتحول األزمة‬ ‫الصحية إلى أزمة غذائية”‬ ‫وزير التجارة خالد الروضان‬ ‫ً‬ ‫نظرا ألن تضرر أي قطاع يمكن أن يؤثر على قطاعات أخرى‪ ،‬حرصت وزارة التجارة‬ ‫الكويتية متمثلة بالوزير خالد الروضان على اتخاذ قرارات حازمة ساندت إجراءات‬ ‫الدولة في مواجهة أزمة كورونا حيث كان الشعار األساسي للوزارة أنه لن يسمح‬ ‫بأن تتحول األزمة الصحية إلى أزمة غذائية‪ ،‬بيد من حديد قامت الوزارة بتوحيد‬ ‫األسعار ولم تتوانى في معاقبة كل من ال يلتزم بالقرار‪.‬‬ ‫وفي تلك الفترة حرصت وزارة التجارة على توفر المخزون الغذائي االستراتيجي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫خاصة‬ ‫القوي وذلك بوجود الشركة الكويتية للتموين إضافة إلى القطاع التعاوني‬ ‫كما أن النظام االقتصادي خليط بين شركات حكومية وغير حكومية‪.‬‬ ‫كما حرصت الوزارة أن ال يستغل أي شخص تلك الفترة العصيبه حيث كانت‬ ‫تقوم بحمالت يومية سعت من خاللها إلى مراقبة االسعار والتأكد من العمل‬ ‫ضمن االجراءات االحترازية المعمول بها لمواجهات تداعيات فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عددا من الصيدليات التي لم تلتزم بالقرار الوزاري‬ ‫كما لم تتوانى الوزارة بإغالق‬ ‫الخاص بتحديد األسعار‪.‬‬ ‫ولم تتهاون الوزارة في ضبط المخالفين الذين استغلوا األزمة وقاموا يتصنيع‬ ‫معقمات غير مرخصة من وزارة الصحة‪ .‬كما قامت الوزارة بمساعدة الشركات‬ ‫عبر دفع فرق تكاليف الشحن وتوفير مخازن لحماية المستهلك من ارتفاع‬ ‫األسعار وتحفيز التجار على رفع المخزون االستراتيجي‪.‬‬ ‫وزير الصحة الكويتي الشيخ باسل حمود الصباح‬

‫“نطمئن أهل الكويت بعودتهم‬ ‫من الخارج”‬ ‫مع وجود ما يقارب ‪ 60‬ألف كويتي خارج البالد‪ ،‬عملت وزارة الخارجية على إجالء‬ ‫الشعب الكويتي في دول العالم‪ ،‬لتعد هذه أكبر رحلة إجالء في تاريخ الكويت عبر‬ ‫«الجسر الجوي» الذي أقامته وزارة الخارجية بالتعاون مع الخطوط الجوية الكويتية‬ ‫َ‬ ‫ووزارتي الصحة والمالية في الكويت استجابة لتوجيهات أمير البالد الذي أمر‬ ‫بضرورة إعادة جميع الكويتيين العالقين في الخارج مهما كان الثمن بالرغم من‬ ‫اغالق معظم مطارات العالم كما تم إجالء المواطنين ً‬ ‫برا‪.‬‬ ‫الجدير بالذكر أن الكويتيون الذين يعيشون خارج البالد معظمهم في بريطانيا‬ ‫والواليات المتحدة األميركية بهدف الدراسة أو‪ ‬العالج‪ ‬أو العمل أو السياحة‪،‬‬ ‫يستقر آخرون في بقية دول العالم‪.‬‬ ‫فيما‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وزير الخارجية الشيخ أحمد الناصر الصباح‬

‫“خدمة أهل الكويت تأتي على‬ ‫رأس األولويات”‬ ‫سخرت وزارة الداخلية جميع امكانيتها بعد اعالن قرار حظر التجول‪ .‬وألن‬ ‫تخطي األزمات يحتاج إلى تكاتف‪ ،‬سخرت الدولة كافة اإلمكانات البشرية‬ ‫والفنية والتقنية والصحية لمواجهة المخاطر المحتملة لفيروس كورونا‬ ‫المستجد وضرورة التصدي لها حماية للمواطنين والمقيمين‪ ،‬وأشار وزير‬ ‫الداخلية أنس الصالح بأن خدمة أهل الكويت والحفاظ على سالمتهم‬ ‫وصحتهم تأتي على رأس األولويات‪.‬‬ ‫كما حرصت الوزارة على أهمية تفعيل الخطط التوعوية واإلرشادية لتوجيه‬ ‫المواطنين والمقيمين ودحض الشائعات وتفنيد األخبار الكاذبة عبر‬ ‫وسائل اإلعالم المقروءة والمسموعة والمرئية ومن خالل مواقع وزارة‬ ‫الداخلية على التواصل االجتماعي ومواقع غيرها من الجهات الحكومية‪.‬‬ ‫كما حرصت الوزراة على تنفيذ القرارات بما يتناسب مع وزارة الصحة فيما‬ ‫يتعلق بالحظر الكلي لبعض المناطق والحظر الجزئي وحجر بعض البنايات‬ ‫وكل ما يساعد في الحد من انتشار كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫ومن منطلق انساني ضمن حملة “غادر بآمان” تم إلغاء الغرامات المقررة‬ ‫على الوافدين المخالفين لقانون اإلقامة‪ ،‬في حالة سفرهم إلى بالدهم‬ ‫خالل الفترة من ‪ 1‬أبريل لغاية ‪ 30‬من الشهر ذاته مع إمكانيتهم للعودة‬ ‫مرة أخرى في حال رغبتهم‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ونظرا لوجود خلل في التركيبة السكانية‪ ،‬فسيتم‬ ‫كما أنه بعد األزمة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مشيرا إلى انه‬ ‫اصدار قرارت جديدة فيما يتعلق بتعديل التركيبة السكانية‪،‬‬ ‫سيكون هناك وقفة حازمة بوجه تجار اإلقامات‪.‬‬ ‫نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية أنس الصالح‬

‫العين الساهرة‬ ‫سنة ‪ 2020‬من السنوات التي ستخلد ذكراها بالتاريخ حيث شهد العالم أزمة صحية وصفت بأنها األصعب على‬ ‫اإلطالق‪ ،‬ومعها ستخلد الكثير من الدول التي سخرت وبذلت كافة امكانياتها في مواجهة الجائحة العالمية‬ ‫لتجنب انتشار فيروس كورونا‪-‬كوفيد ‪ ،١٩‬وقد استطاعت الكثير من الدول أن تنال تقدير شعوبها وكذلك دول‬ ‫العالم من خالل العمل الدؤوب للجهات المختصة والتنسيق فيما بينهم لتخطي تلك المرحلة‪ .‬وال يمكن أن نتطلع‬ ‫إلى تلك الفترة وال نستذكر أبطال الكويت اللذين بذلوا كل الجهود طوال فترة الجائحة من دون كلل أو ملل‬ ‫بتوجيهات من سمو أمير البالد الشيخ صباح األحمد الجابر الصباح حفظه اهلل ورعاه‪.‬‬

‫“استحلفكم باهلل‬ ‫البقاء في منازلكم”‬ ‫فبراير ‪ ،2020‬ومع إعالن أول إصابة لفيروس كورونا في الكويت أثبت‬ ‫وزير الصحة الكويتي الدكتور باسل الصباح أنه رجل المرحلة وأن المنظومة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مسخرا كل‬ ‫الصحية في الكويت قادرة على مواجهة أصعب الظروف‪،‬‬ ‫اإلمكانيات في وزارة الصحة في محاولة للتصدي لفايروس كورونا‬ ‫وحماية المواطنين والمقيمين على حد سواء تمثلت في اجراءات احترازية‬ ‫ً‬ ‫جاهدا على مدار الساعة وبالتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية‬ ‫واستباقية‪.‬عمل‬ ‫وباستخدام أفضل الطرق االستراتيجية لتخطي هذه األزمة‪ .‬ونال الوزير‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تقديرا على الجهود المبذولة على المستوى الكويتي وكذلك أشادت‬

‫منظمة الصحة العالمية باالجراءات المتبعة في الكويت في مواجهة‬ ‫الفايروس‪.‬‬

‫وقد تم تخصيص مستشفى جابر وهو أكبر مستشفى في الشرق‬ ‫األوسط‪ ،‬وسادس أكبر مستشفى في العالم لمعالجة المصابين حيث‬ ‫ً‬ ‫سريرا‪ .‬وتم‬ ‫يضم مستشفى جابر المخصص لمرضى كورونا نحو ‪1130‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫فضال‬ ‫سريرا‪،‬‬ ‫تجهيز مستشفى ميداني في أرض المعارض ويضم ‪1400‬‬ ‫عن وجود طاقة استيعابية في المستشفيات الحكومية التي تصل إلى‬ ‫نحو ‪ 8000‬سرير‪.‬‬ ‫مع وجود خطة الستخدام مستشفى الجهراء الجديد لمرضى كورونا في‬ ‫حال دعت الحاجة‪ .‬أما عن عدد األسرة في العناية المركزة في القطاع‬ ‫الحكومي بلغ نحو ‪ 1000‬سرير‪ ،‬وثمة خطة لتدعيمها وزيادتها في حال‬ ‫دعت الحاجة لذلك‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫فضال عن حرص الوزارة لتجهيز المخزون الطبي وجميع المستلزمات‬ ‫الطبية طوال فترة األزمة للصفوف األمامية من أطباء‪ ،‬ممرضين‬ ‫ومتطوعين‪ .‬كما حرصت وزارة الصحة على المتابعة الدائمة بالتعاون مع‬ ‫منظمة الصحة العالمية لمعرفة آخر تطورات الفيروس‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫حرصا منها على الحد‬ ‫كما وفرت وزارة الصحة خدمة توصيل األدوية‬ ‫من الخروج وااللتزام بالتباعد االجتماعي خالل فترات اليوم المختلفة‬ ‫وبالتعاون والتنسيق مع اإلدارة العامة لإلطفاء‪ .‬كما استعانت وزارة‬ ‫الصحة بفريق طبي كوبي لمعالجة الحاالت المصابة وكانت الوزارة رائدة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫دائما في توفير أعلى الخدمات الطبية‪.‬‬ ‫«استحلفكم بالله البقاء في منازلكم»‪ ،‬بهذه العبارة توجه وزير الصحة‬ ‫الكويتي الدكتور باسل الصباح للمواطنين والمقيمين في ظل أزمة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تداوال في تلك الفترة‪.‬‬ ‫كورونا ولتصبح من أكثر الجمل‬ ‫وزير الصحة الكويتي الشيخ باسل حمود الصباح‬

‫ً‬ ‫في لحظة استغراق العالم ّ‬ ‫رأسا على‬ ‫كله في الصراعات والحروب والمشاكل‪ ..‬انقلب هذا العالم‬ ‫المجردة‪ ،‬ووقفنا‬ ‫بالعين‬ ‫نراه‬ ‫ال‬ ‫فيروس‬ ‫ظهور‬ ‫بسبب‬ ‫حياتنا‬ ‫معه‬ ‫فانقلبت‬ ‫عقب بين ليلة وضحاها‪،‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كل ذلك في ّ‬ ‫للحد من انتشاره‪ .‬وحدث ّ‬ ‫ظل الكثير من المشاكل الصحية‬ ‫لقاحا‬ ‫عاجزين عن أن نجد‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أوال‪ :‬األنانية التي‬ ‫أن ذلك يعود إلى إحدى األسباب‪،‬‬ ‫البعض‬ ‫ويرى‬ ‫الطبيعية‪.‬‬ ‫والبيئية والكوارث‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫تسميه مصالح)‪ ،‬وعلى هذا‪،‬‬ ‫الصناعية‬ ‫الدول‬ ‫أنانية‪،‬‬ ‫نحن‬ ‫يه‬ ‫نسم‬ ‫(وما‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫البشري‬ ‫يمارسها الجنس‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فإنها ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فلكل دولة مصالحها تفعل ما تشاء في سبيل مصلحة شعبها كما تزعم‪ ،‬ولذلك‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫وظفت‬ ‫مما ّأثر على البيئة والمناخ والطبيعة في العالم‬ ‫الطبيعية‬ ‫الموارد‬ ‫على‬ ‫للحصول‬ ‫ضخمة‬ ‫إمكانات‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وقلة هطول األمطار‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫بتلوث البيئة والتغيير المناخي‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫كل ذلك نتيجة لهذه األنانية‪.‬‬ ‫متسببة ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فإن من‬ ‫وعلى هذا‪ ،‬فإذا كان انتشار فيروس كورونا بسبب هذا االعتداء البشري على الطبيعة‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫“تتمرد” الطبيعة على هذا الواقع‪ ،‬لتعيد مبدأ التوازن الضروري الستمرار الحياة‬ ‫الطبيعي‪ ،‬أن‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الطبيعية اآلمنة‪.‬‬ ‫ومن هنا‪ ،‬وبعد أن ّ‬ ‫وح ِج َر الناس في منازلهم في شتى بالد العالم بسبب انتشار‬ ‫تعطلت المصانع‪ُ ،‬‬ ‫ٌ‬ ‫وتحسن الوضع البيئي‪.‬‬ ‫للطبيعة‬ ‫التوازن‬ ‫من‬ ‫بعض‬ ‫الفيروس‪ ،‬عاد‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫المتقدمة التي تعمل على تطوير‬ ‫أما الحالة الثانية‪ ،‬إذا كان هذا الفيروس من نتاج مختبرات الدول‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فإن ذلك‪ -‬حسب زعم هذه الدول‪ -‬لضرورات األمن القومي‬ ‫األسلحة الجرثومية أو البيولوجية ‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أن هذا‬ ‫وأعتقد‬ ‫البشرية‪،‬‬ ‫باألنانية‬ ‫نسميها‬ ‫ما‬ ‫أو‬ ‫الخاصة‬ ‫المصلحة‬ ‫أيضا نرى مفهوم‬ ‫لشعوبها‪ ..‬وهنا‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫مدة وأخرى‪.‬‬ ‫بين‬ ‫كوارث‬ ‫ظهور‬ ‫إلى‬ ‫يؤدي‬ ‫فسوف‬ ‫يتوقف‬ ‫لم‬ ‫ان‬ ‫الجرثومي‬ ‫ح‬ ‫التسل‬ ‫مجال‬ ‫السباق في‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫تغير مفهوم “ المصلحة” من‬ ‫للحد من الكوارث‬ ‫فإن‬ ‫ومن هنا‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫المتنوعة‪ ،‬يجب على الدول أن ّ‬

‫إذاً أين الحل؟ وكيف سنواجة الكوارث؟‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الحل الحقيقي هو باستثمار القدرات البشرية التطوعية‪ ،‬وال ضرر بتوفير وتخزين المستلزمات‬ ‫األساسية لمواجهة الكوارث القادمة من مستشفيات متنقلة‪ ،‬وخيم وأدوية وجميع ما يلزم‬ ‫التطوعي‪.‬‬ ‫ولكن األهم هو االستثمار بالبشر وبالعمل‬ ‫لألعمال الطبية واإلنسانية‪،‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فنحن أمام الكوارث محتاجون للبشر ومن جميع الطبقات لمواجهتها‪ ،‬والبشر على استعداد‪ -‬وهذا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫لتحمل المسؤولية واالندفاع بالروح اإلنسانية العالية‬ ‫أخيرا في كارثة فيروس الكورونا‪-‬‬ ‫ما رأيناه‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫لمواجهة هذه الكارثة‪.‬‬ ‫التطوع‪ ،‬إن كان في مجال األمن أو الصحة أو الرعاية االجتماعية أو الرياضية‬ ‫نعمم فكرة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ينبغي أن ّ‬ ‫أو االحتفاالت الوطنية أو المشاركة في تنظيم السير وما شابه‪ ،‬وأن تُ رسم سياسة واضحة للعمل‬ ‫بشكل عام‪.‬‬ ‫التطوعي وتوفير ميزانيات مالية يحتاجها هذا العمل‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫ينبغي على الهيئات المختصة إعطاء العمل التطوعي للشباب أولوية كبيرة لتنمية مواهبهم‬ ‫وصقل قدراتهم على الصعد كافة‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫التطوع في فترات األزمات والكوارث وحسب‪ ،‬بل أن‬ ‫وأال يكون‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫حضاريا حتى في الحياة الطبيعية‪ ،‬وبهذا ّ‬ ‫نوفر للشباب فرصة أن يمألوا أوقات فراغهم‬ ‫عمال‬ ‫يكون‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ونساء من الذين تعتمد عليهم‬ ‫رجاال‬ ‫يكونون‬ ‫بحيث‬ ‫الكويتي‪،‬‬ ‫المجتمع‬ ‫وعلى‬ ‫عليهم‬ ‫بالنفع‬ ‫يعود‬ ‫بما‬ ‫ً‬ ‫دولتهم في األزمات الصعبة‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫انطالقا‬ ‫حب مساعدة اآلخرين‬ ‫إذا علينا أن نستثمر العنصر البشري‪ ،‬حيث غرس الله في اإلنسان ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫المتطوعين الذين قد ال يمنعون الكارثة أن‬ ‫من‬ ‫بعناصر‬ ‫ل‬ ‫يتشك‬ ‫االستثمار‬ ‫وهذا‬ ‫الخير‪،‬‬ ‫فعل‬ ‫حب‬ ‫من‬ ‫ِّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وحبهم لوطنهم يستطيعون أن ّ‬ ‫يخففوا من اآلثار السلبية على المجتمع‪،‬‬ ‫تقع‪ ،‬ولكن بتضحياتهم‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫التطوعي من ّأنها تعمل على تطوير المجتمع‪،‬‬ ‫والتصدي للكارثة بسرعة أكبر‪ ..‬وتنبع ثقافة العمل‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫إضافة إلى دعم فعالية العمل الحكومي‪ ،‬والقيام بما ال‬ ‫وتوطيد العالقات بين الجماعات واألفراد‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫التطوعي تسعى لتوفير الحاجات االجتماعية‬ ‫أحيانا‪ .‬وسياسة العمل‬ ‫تستطيع الحكومات القيام به‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫انطالقا من احترام كرامة الفرد والمحافظة على حقوق اإلنسان‪.‬‬ ‫واإلنسانية والبيئية‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وكل شعوب العالم من هذا الوباء ومن الكوارث ّ‬ ‫كافة ّإنه سميع‬ ‫نسأل الله أن يحمي الكويت‬ ‫مجيب‪.‬‬
