MCJ Ref No: 1269/E/02 Tender Ref No: 398401-2021 Project Stage: Tenders Invited Area: Norway, Bergen Value: 2,100,000 NOK Project Period: 26 Months Promoter: Havforskningsinstituttet, Postboks 1870 Nordnes, Bergen, 5817, Norway Tel: +47 99491414; E-mail: caspar.christie@hi.no Contact: Caspar Christie Profile: Hire vessel for acoustic measurements of bluefin tuna - stage 1 prequalification. The Institute of Marine Research would like to hire a fishing vessel for 10-14 days and nights for scientific examinations of bluefin tuna. Good acoustic equipment is required, such as split ray echo sounder and fishing sounder. The mission will be carried out in the period 15 September - 15 October. The procurement is being made as a dynamic purchasing system. Relevant suppliers will be prequalified and included in the scheme. Tenderers will then be invited to submit tenders for the service (at short notice). This will give tenderers the option to submit a tender without binding themselves for a long period before the mission in question. The tender documentation concerns the mapping and prequalification of available vessels, with the equipment required for the mission and with interest for applying. It is therefore non-binding as regards submitting a tender for the mission. A separate notice with the exact mission dates that will require a binding tender will be published nearer the start of the mission. The objective is to achieve a good data foundation for assessing how bluefin tuna best can be monitored and possibly quantified during grazing in Norwegian waters. The mission will focus on different acoustic sonar measurements. It will also include systematic visual observations. The vessel will not carry out fishing during the mission and requirements for quota or regulations regarding compensation for lost quota will not apply. The contracting authority will participate with 3-4 persons. The contract period is 10-14 mission days and nights from 15 September to 15 October 2021. If the vessel needs to be mobilised and subject to acoustic calibration of the sonar and the echo sounder first, the cruise will start as soon as the vessel is ready. Mobilisation and demobilisation are not included in the mission period, but must be included in the daily rate for the mission days. Mobilisation of the vessel is estimated to take approx. 24 hours before the mission starts. The mission and hire period will start when the vessel has been mobilised and acoustically calibrated.
