Restore

As we begin 2025, Mercy House Global embraces the theme Restore, guided by the timeless promises of Psalm 23. This year, we’ll focus on the renewal and healing only God can provide. Inspired by the psalm’s imagery of a Good Shepherd who leads us to still waters and restores our souls, we are invited to slow down, rest in God’s presence, and embrace His ongoing work of restoration in our lives. The map above features Sanaa art, created by Rehema House girls, depicting imagery from Psalm 23, with new illustrations added each month to beautifully capture this journey throughout 2025. As we reflect on this theme, we are reminded that when God restores us, we receive more than we’ve lost—true renewal and abundant life.

Recharge

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul… —Psalm 19:7

Life can simply wear us down and out.

The Word of God promises that our souls can be restored and revived. But recharging doesn’t just happen without intention.

Recharging our souls isn’t just for us. It’s also for those we love. Peter Scazzero writes, “Self-care is never a selfish act—it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give it the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.”

Here are some practical ways to recharge spiritually and emotionally:

• Prayer: Set reminders on your phone and practice the “Daily Office” by inviting God’s presence into your everyday moments.

• Bible study: Start Psalm 1 on the first day of a new month and read one every day for forty days.

• Worship: Do more than listen to an inspirational song; sing it God like a prayer.

• Personal retreats: Take time away to sit in silence and solitude and process whatever surfaces with the Lord. .

• Service: Help others through volunteering or acts of kindness. This can bring fulfillment and renew your faith.

• Nature: Spend time outdoors to feel closer to God and find rest.

• Community: Connect with fellow believers for opportunities for support, vulnerability, and accountability.

Tara

Projects

Tara Projects is a Fair Trade organization in Northern India that has been empowering marginalized artisan communities for over 40 years. Supporting more than 300 artisans, Tara Projects provides training, fair wages, and opportunities to create jewelry, soapstone crafts, and eco-friendly goods. Beyond handicrafts, they champion social justice by addressing issues like child labor, gender inequality, and poverty, while promoting environmental sustainability through tree planting and water conservation. Tara Projects is a catalyst for change, restoring dignity and fostering resilience in the lives of artisans and their communities.

Shaista

Shaista, a 38-year-old artisan from Bagha village in Uttar Pradesh, has been working with Tara Projects for three years. Married with three children, she turned to weaving to support her family when her husband struggled to find steady work. She learned to craft cane items alongside other women in her community.

Shaista’s partnership with Tara Projects began during a challenging time after the pandemic. Through this work, she has improved her family’s financial stability, repaired their home, and ensured her children can attend school. Despite societal challenges, Shaista dreams of a better future for her daughters and takes pride in her contributions to her family’s well-being.

Sanaa

Sanaa art is a vibrant and expressive collection of original artwork created by the teen mothers at Rehema House. The three maternity homes in Kenya exist to rescue, rehabilitate, and empower girls between the ages of 12 and 16 who have become pregnant through sex trafficking and other forms of abuse. The Rehema House program is operated by an indigenous Kenyan staff and funded by Mercy House Global.

"Sanaa," which means "art" in Swahili, serves as a creative outlet for these young women, offering them a way to process their stories, express hope, and explore their God-given talents. Each piece reflects their resilience and joy, making it a powerful testament to the beauty that can emerge from courage and healing. Through Sanaa art, these brave mothers not only share their voices with the world but also contribute to building sustainable futures for themselves and their children.

Motherhood is a gift from God. At Mercy House Global, we celebrate every baby and new mother born, even in the most difficult circumstances. Mentorship is an investment in people; it’s a chance to journey with someone. When you join this unique monthly program, you will have an opportunity to speak encouragement into the lives of young women as they begin their journey of motherhood. Become a mentor today.

How it works:

With a monthly gift of $25, you'll choose a young woman to mentor. You'll connect mother-tomother four times per year via a Mentorship letter, and the girls will write back. This is a wonderful way for you to pour out wisdom, encouragement, and knowledge to a young mother and for her to share her new life experiences and growth with you. Also, every Mentor will receive a doll (handmade by the girls at Rehema House in Kenya) as a token of our appreciation for you joining this program with us.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY ETHICAL?

Ethically traded products are crafted by artisans who work in safe conditions, receive a fair wage, and maintain reasonable working hours. No child sacrificed their education to create your new favorite item, and no parent toiled in a sweatshop for 80 hours a week. We ensure that all of our MHG Clubs items are ethically sourced.

HOW ARE MHG CLUBS DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SUBSCRIPTION CLUBS?

MHG Clubs are operated by Mercy House Global, a 501(c)3 charitable organization. All proceeds from MHG Clubs empower vulnerable families in Jesus’ name with opportunities that provide hope.

MHG CLUBS PARTNER WITH FAITH-BASED ARTISAN GROUPS ACROSS THE GLOBE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

While we are a faith-based ministry and collaborate with other faith-based ministries, religion is not imposed on artisans, nor is it a prerequisite for employment. Many women and their families practice different religions than we do, and that is okay. Our belief in Christ compels us to love, serve, and assist others, irrespective of their personal belief systems.
