You’ll find your career program at MNE. Whatever career program you’re interested in, you’ll find it at Mercyhurst North East. And, if you haven’t decided your major yet, that’s OK. Many students begin as a liberal arts major as they decide which direction to take. So if you haven’t chosen your major, don’t worry. Just choose MNE. MNE has a longstanding reputation for providing both quality academics and real-world career training. We offer more than 30 associate degree programs and seven one-year certificates, including a 20-week Municipal Police Training Academy. We also offer a bridge program for registered nurses looking to earn a bachelor’s degree (BSN). At MNE you’ll get a well-rounded education through our liberal arts core, but will still be out in the workforce in less than two years. Plus our programs are fully accredited, so your credits will transfer to almost any four-year college if you decide to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Regardless of your program of study you will stand out during a grad school or job interview. That’s why our graduates have a 94 percent job placement rate.

For an affo r educationdable You’ll get a quality education at a great value. Mercyhurst North East is committed to keeping the cost of an education as low as possible and making that education accessible to everyone. MNE provides need-based scholarships to students in addition to any federal or state money for which you are eligible. Our financial aid counselors will work with you to find every loan opportunity, grant or scholarship available. If your family income is less than $40,000, you may be able to attend college with little to no out-of-pocket expense. In fact, you could receive enough financial aid to get money back for books, supplies and living expenses. Some of the scholarships and allowances available at MNE:

• Internal Transfer Scholarship (for students who transfer to the Erie campus)

• North East Grant • North East Athletic Scholarship (up to half-tuition) • Chamber of Commerce Scholarships • Veterans’ Benefits (up to full tuition)

n o i t a c u d e n o s d n a h For a We offer you real-world experience. We know you’re coming here on your way to ‘bigger and better places’—like your career for instance. So, we start with the end in mind. We don’t want you to leave here with nothing on your resume. I mean, what would you talk about in your job or grad school interview? So, we do things and provide you with experiences to fill that resume up and get you on your way to the next stop.

Technology Lots of schools have really cool equipment and technology. But how many two-year colleges have a cadaver lab? Or an actual private country club as your classroom? Or a firearms range for police cadets? We do. And all of this hands-on experience will give you an edge over other candidates competing for the jobs you want.

Internships & Externships Here’s where you go into the field and try out what you’ve learned. Maybe you get a job with the company. That’s sweet. Or, they connect you with someone they know and get you a job. Regardless of how it happens, it’s the experience of a lifetime.

Here’s the technology and labs that make a hands-on education possible:

Michele and Tom Ridge Health and Safety Building Located on the second floor of the Ridge building, the nursing arts laboratory features the latest in healthcare education technology. You will use computerized mannequins that simulate symptoms and vital signs to teach you to assess the condition and symptoms of the “patient,” learning everything from checking blood pressure and heart and lung sounds, to inserting catheters and IVs and changing dressings. One mannequin even gives birth, preparing you for real medical situations, just like you were working in a real hospital or ER.

Janet L. Miller Center for Growth and Excellence Students majoring in the allied health programs (nursing, medical lab technician, occupational therapy assistant and respiratory therapy) will train in the $1.2 million Hirtzel Human Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology Laboratory found inside the Janet L. Miller Building, one of the best-equipped and staffed anatomy labs in the country. You’ll train in the high-tech cadaver lab, a standard feature for medical schools, but very uncommon at small private colleges and unheard of at a two-year school. The 29,000-square-foot structure also houses the college’s Public Safety Institute, Municipal Police Training Academy and the licensed practical nursing program.

Culinary Arts Kitchen and Wine Cellar If you’re thinking about culinary, you’ll get your experience in the college’s full-service culinary kitchen. The main kitchen has a large mirrored demonstration table for demonstrations and a hot foods line, which includes a convection oven, fryers, grills, charbroilers, eight-burner stovetops and auxiliary ovens. It also has a fully stocked bake shop, service coolers and even a wine cooler for wine made by you!

Vineyard Primary Care An additional training facility for our allied health programs is Vineyard Primary Care, a Hamot Healthcare Center. It brings a wide-range of healthcare services to the North East community and houses an infirmary for Mercyhurst North East students and employees. This collaboration between Hamot Medical Center and Mercyhurst North East enables you to work in a real healthcare setting on the MNE campus.
