Secure Rail features MORE THAN 20 conference sessions divided between three tracks:
SAVE THE DATE FEBRUARY 3 AND 4, 2015, FOR
SECURING TECHNOLOGY As technologies are increasingly integrated into daily railroad operations, ensuring the security of these systems is essential. With many technologies operating on a wireless platform, limiting vulnerability to hacking is equally vital. Sessions in this track will address keys to enhancing database, email, and website security, developing reliable locomotive security systems, reducing the risk of hacking, and more.
SECURING ASSETS Brought to you by Progressive Railroading magazine, Secure Rail is the first conference to address North American rail security from an organizational perspective.
February 3-4, 2015 Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort Orlando, Florida Secure Rail provides you with strategies and insights from industry experts on how to manage employees, passengers, technology and assets, and protect them from man-made threats and dangers. Secure Rail also features a number of networking opportunities, including chances to engage with leading industry suppliers via tabletop exhibits.
Assets like railcars, rail yards, ports, bridges, and tunnels are the core of any rail organization, and securing them from external risk is an increasingly expensive and time consuming task. Over the past decade railroads have dealt with intensified terrorist threats, increased border activity and an uptick in the conveyance of hazardous materials hauled in railcars. The Securing Assets track will address strategies for reducing the risk of external threats that can cause significant harm to an organization.
SECURING PEOPLE Any external threat or risk can put a rail organization’s major stakeholders – from passengers to employees to the general public – in danger. Both freight and transit railroad are tasked with protecting the communities they serve. This track illustrates the key role that emergency and business continuity planning, along with rail police forces, can play in reducing the opportunity for and the impact of external forces intent on causing harm.
