Editor´s letter This Fall/ Winter 17-18 season, The Tobe issue brings the latest trends in colors and styles, fashion looking toward the future. This guide includes an analysis based on core, secondary and accent colors and how this are related to fashion today. Fashion evolves with time, despite there usually some take on previous styles, there is always a common objective, and that brings novelty. The Upcycling palette, for example, shows a romantic yet with some artisan approach to this fall winter season. It will bring a different alternative in term of color which will be palpable in both casual fashion and evening fashion. This color story shows a variety of organic textures and material treatment as well as innovative designs in the accessory category. Virtual Now comes with an electric vibe for this season. Outwear will be mainly influenced by this palette, and there is also going to be several patchwork and embellishment to create contrast. Accessories will become a statement feature this season as well, becoming that touch of color that can easily bring any outfit together. This issue shows the significant silhouettes that fit better with the gender and culture neutrality concept behind the “Blurred Lines” palette. Straightforward and minimal use of color, almost entirely monochromatic. There is rarely a use of prints but on the other hand, there is some experimentation with texture. This style seems to fit perfectly with a young generation which wants to feel more casual and relaxed. Finally, for this season, Tobe shows a melancholic yet romantic and elegant use of the jewel tone palette “Neo Antiques”. Haute Couture will be very influenced by the richness of core colors such as Last Night Blue and Smooth Velvet. Regarding ready to wear/ sportswear fashion there will be a variety of combination of colors and also monochromatic pieces promising to create a statement. Metallic and shiny materials will be crucial factors as accent element within the pieces as well as in accessory use. This issue aims to bring our buyers a guidance of the most significant trend and takes on color, material, and silhouettes for this Fall/Winter 17-18 season showing a careful analysis of the evolution of this trends and how they will keep shaping the metric of fashion and design in later seasons.

Trash to Trasure

The Upcylcing palette in greatly inspired in the recycle of materials and the creative process designers develop to create beutiful pieces out of “trash“. Nevertheless, it is still a concept in the process of adaptation in the fashion industry. Just a few designers have come to participate in this renewable design approach. In the close future, there is going to be an obvious inpiration on the recylce as organic patterns, layered fabrics and yarn colors start becoming an inmitation of the repurpose of waste. Nevertheless this palette will play a critical role when in come to outwear pieces and accessories. It will also be seen as a transitorial pallete from Winter season into Spring 2018.
