Editor´s letter The Tobe Fall-Winter 17/18 issue brings a rreflection of today’s global submersion into the future. This seasons color stories are inspired by changes in world’s society and the new perspectives and ty. From environmental awareness and material rrecycling, attitudes towards the “new” reality. innovations and advances in virtual technology technology, gender neutrality in today’s generation are ty. This season is full of interesting and unexpected color becoming actual concepts in our reality. e become part of tod combinations which have today’s future. Upcycling is the new fashion term for recycling and in this issue we explore the pastel color palette expected to hit the runways in the following seasons. ased on the Virtual Now is the story and inspiration behind this seasons saturated color palette. Based new advances in virtual technology and how society is adapting to the parallel digital reality. Bringing fun, Off Beat hues and extravagance in the use of color for this palette which aims to drive us into the realization of today’s proximity with the digital. Neo-Antiques is the concept behind Tobes dark nocturne for this color palette which brings a sense of mystery and nostalgia inspired by the new turn of vintage in today’s fashion. Blurred Lines is the title of this season´s neutral palette. Mainly inspired by today’s cultural and gender neutral balance. Limitations about who or who do we want to be are disappearing. We are living a new social revolution, and social norms are not a matter of black and white anymore. This color story gives an alternative combination of colors for this season going to militant greens, balanced whites, and undefined kahkis.

“One man’s trash becomes another man’s treasure”. This is the essential concept behind Upcycling color story. The actual problem of the increased levels of waste material serves as inspiration for all different type of artists and some designers have understood this issue as an opportunity bring newness to the industry by experimenting with different design processes.This method has motivated the re-utilization of materials, such as egg shells, industrial foam, wood shavings and sawdust, creating resourceful design strategies to turn discarded material and “trash“ into something appealing and more desirable.

The palette is based on chalked hues such as Converted denim, pink Saw dust coming in both matte and metallic swatches and Light Rust. Egg Shell white brings a soft and delicate balance to the color palette and Purple

core color of this palette while Organic Pulp and Purple foam are utilized as accent and contrasting colors.

Virtual Now describes the saturated vibe of the digital world. It is a reality that we once thought was just a mere fantasy. Today, Virtual Animation and the real world come together and interact together within a common environment. This advance in technology is as exciting as this color palette, bringing a lively, playful and vibrant mood to the season. These key colors promise to become a statement in the runways.

Virtual Now brings vibrant energy to this Fall /Winter season. It is a palette in fashion in general. The core colors expected to see in the runways are the Electra Red, Sci-Fi Orange, promising to be a big hit in footwear and dresses and some Off Beet Green. Other popular colors will be the Cyber blue. It is a very electric yet safe color for this season. Additional colors are an approach of a soft light blue/ gray called Drone and Altern Sepia. Finally, Colors like Off Beat Green and Metalic Cyber Blue will be crucial in the creation accent statement features in clothing and Sci-Fi Orange is also the main color when it comes to creating a small contrast and pop of color.

When it comes to culture and gender identity, there is no longer black and whites, one thing or the other. This palette is mainly inspired by that are already familiar to the fashion industry. These colors have the objective to enhance a neutral balance between men and women’s apparel as both fashions to combine aesthetics and silhouettes from each other to create a minimalist and modern alternative in style.

Blurred Lines brings neutrals into a more balanced state. This color palette is a little bit warmer that the usual black, gray and whites of past seasons. Main colors are Overcast, which is a dark gray, NonBinary, being a light

NonBinary will also participate as a secondary color along with Mix Brown and Middle Ground, This being a combination of brown colors. The metallic version of Overcast will play a key part when it comes to outwear and monochromatic combinations as well as Militant Spirit and the neutral White

FRINGE AND FEATHERS WE GROUPED THESE TWO TRENDS IN ONE BECAUSE WE BELIEVE BOTH BRING A MODERN 3 DIMENSIONAL VIBE. IT ADDS GREAT CONTRAST BETWEEN ETHEREAL, DELICACY, ROMANTICISM (FEATHERS) AND THE BOLDNESS AND BOHEMIAN STYLE (FRINGES). THESE TWO FEATURES ARE APPLIED TO FABRIC IN DIFFERENT SHAPES AND VOLUMES, SOME CREATING PATTERNS, OTHERS CREATING TEXTURE TO THE GARMENT, AND ULTIMATLEY BOTH CREATE DRAMA
