DEĞERLİ MİSAFİRLERİMİZ ir yaz mevsimini daha sizlerden gelen yoğun istekleri karşılamak için neredeyse gece gündüz çalışarak geçirdik. Merit markası, artık Kuzey Kıbrıs markası ile üst üste tam olarak öpüştü. Bu bizim en büyük mutluluğumuz ve gururumuz. Bunu yaratan kalitemizi, hizmetimizi dünyaya yayan kadim dostlarımıza ve siz misafirlerimize şükranlarımızı arz ediyoruz. Bu yıl konuklarımızın oda taleplerini tam olarak karşılayamadık. Bazı konuklarımız istedikleri günlerde oda bulamadı. Bu konunun ciddiyetle üzerine giden yönetimimiz, çok sevdiğiniz ve bilhassa çocuklu ailelerin tercih ettiği Merit Royal Premium Hotel & Casino'ya 115 odalı bir ilave blok yapma kararı aldı. Bu yeni inşaatımızın temelini bu mevsim inşallah atacağız. Bu sayede gelecek yaz birçoğunuzun oda talebini yerine getirmiş duruma geleceğiz. Şu anda otellerimizde iki yenilik var: Birincisi, her gece en az 1-2 mekânda canlı müzik ve dans ortamını buluyorsunuz. İkincisi ise otellerimizin önemli noktalarını sanat eserleri ile buluşturmak. e worked through yet another summer, day and night, in order to fulfill your requests. The name Merit is now officially associated with Northern Cyprus. This is our biggest source of happiness and pride. We offer our gratitude to our dear friends and guests who helped us spread our quality and service in the international arena. This year we were not fully able to meet the requests of our guests for accommodation. Some of them could not find a room on the dates they requested. Our administration, who paid special attention to this matter, decided to build a new complex consisting of 115 rooms in Merit Royal Premium Hotel & Casino, which is generally requested by our guests with children. We are hoping to begin with the construction this summer, thus, next summer we will be able to meet your accommodation requests fully. This year we have two new changes in our hotels: First, every night, there will be live music at least 2 halls. Second one is to exhibit works of art in the important spots of our hotel. You will find the first one at the entrance of Merit Crystal Cove Hotel. We hope you like it. Let me also give the good news about our two new restaurants; Steak House at Merit Royal and the new favorite of Merit Park Hotel; Ottoman Kebab House. Galatasaray 25 Eylül Lisesi'nin ardından 25 September İstanbul Üniversitesi'nde Merit Park Hotel klasik arkeoloji eğitimi alan & Casino sanatçı, yıllar sonra lisesine dönerek müzik öğretmenliği de yaptı. Serdar Ortaç is one of the few names that comes to mind when you say “stage show”. He stabilized his fame thanks to his hit songs and his unique style that he maintained for the last 20 years. He is especially famous for his summer hits and it is not possible to fully enjoy summer without him. Daughter of a Thracian immigrant family, born in Kırklareli, Candan Erteçin has always been with us with her heart-warming songs that touch our lives. Graduating from Galatasaray High School, she then studied classic archeology as a part of Istanbul University. Years later she started teaching music at the high school she graduated from. Erçetin, who released her first album 20 years ago, has seven albums in her discography today.

Above we briefly mentioned that our hotel is children friendly. They especially love animals here. We have three horses and a foal, which you can hand feed. Apart from that they can chase chickens and roosters, piss turkeys off (!) and pet the goats. There is also a playground for the children. As you can see everything is at their service.

n How did you meet the Merit Group and discover Cyprus? Have you ever been in Cyprus or Turkey before? I was connected with the Merit Group through an acquaintance from my many years within the hotel industry, who felt that I would be a good fit for the company, and that the company could offer me what I was looking for at this point in my life. I had never been to Cyprus or Turkey before, but my keen interest in travel made me very excited to experience the unique and wonderful cultures of both countries. n What is the slogan of the Merit Royal Hotel and Casino, and what is the slogan of your staff? The slogan for the Merit Royal Hotel and Casino is “Exclusively to You”, which represents the wonderfully giving and welcoming personality that the national cultures of Cyprus and Turkey both have, and this slogan is well presented within the staff of the hotel. Bahsettiğim gibi “Size Özel” konsepti, Kıbrıs ve Türk kültürünün konukseverliğinin bir yanısması ve aynı zamanda Merit Royal Hotel & Casino’nun servis standartlarının yapıtaşıdır. Amacımız, her misafirin kendini değerli ve özel hissetmesini, onların mutluluğunu ve konforunu en üst seviyede tutup Kıbrıs seyahatlerinin tadını sonuna kadar çıkarmalarını sağlamak. Dolayısıyla bunu sağlamak için elimizden gelen her şeyi yapacağız. Bu, otel için olduğu kadar benim kişisel de hedefimdir. n Hedefleriniz nelerdir? Merit Royal Hotel & Casino için gelecekte neler planlıyorsunuz? He’s Very Happy In Cyprus n How do you find Cypriots and Turks? are you satisfied/happy with your life? ı am very happy here in Cyprus, at the Merit Royal Hotel. The Cypriot and Turkish culture has a wonderful aspect of hospitality that is very difficult to replicate, and very inviting and comfortable to be received in. every person ı have met and come across so far has been nothing short of friendly, hospitable, warm and welcoming, and ı could not be more appreciative of my warm reception here in Cyprus.
n With its special concept “Exclusively to You” Merit declared a new age in the tourism sector of Cyprus. Could you please talk about the hotel service? As is mentioned, the “Exclusively to You” concept is a reflection of the hospitable culture found within Cyprus and Turkey, and this is one of the building blocks of the standards of service within the Merit Royal Hotel and Casino. It is our goal and aim to make every individual guest feel valued and like a VIP, and we will do whatever it takes to ensure the utmost comfort and happiness of our guests, so that they fully enjoy their stay with us in Cyprus. This is not only my goal for the hotel, but is also my personal goal. n What is your goal? What are you planning for Merit Royal Hotel and Casino in the future? Considering the fact that the Merit Royal Hotel and Casino is still a relatively young one, it has been a wonderful success so far. My goal, beginning now in 2015, is to fully refine the hotel and bring it to its utmost potential, so that the Merit hotel name stands far out above the rest in Turkey and Cyprus. I am sure together with the staff I will put the Merit Royal and Premium Hotel on the international spectrum, so that it is paralleled to hotels such as the highly recognized and acclaimed Hotel Companies around the world. I aim to make the Merit name parallel to quality, comfort, happiness, and above all, pure luxury. n Cyprus focuses on the tourism and entertainment sectors. What can be done differently here? Cyprus is still largely an untouched gem, and this works well to the advantage of the Merit Royal. This allows Merit Royal to become the standout name for luxury and style within the Cypriot hotel sector, and we will work fully to place ourselves firmly in this position. However, Cyprus could benefit from more accessible travel connections, with better airline routes, so that Cyprus could become more accessible to clients from all reaches of the world.

n Biyografinizde, “Üniversite yıllarında cep harçlığını kazanmak için gazeteciliğe başlamıştır” yazıyor. Gösteri dergisi dönemi. 80'li yılların ortası... Biraz, o yıllardaki edebiyat dünyasından bahseder misiniz? Dönemin belli başlı yazarları, şairleri, düşünürlerinin yanında olmak size neler kazandırdı? Gazeteciliğe Gösteri dergisinde başladım. Düzeltmenlikten yöneticiliğe kadar hemen her kademede çalıştım. Yıllar içinde farklı alanlara da geçtim gazetecilikte. Gösteri dergisi benim için bir okuldu diyebilirim. Orada yalnızca dönemin önemli isimlerinin yazılarını, şiirlerini yayımlamakla kalmadık. Onlar bizim sürekli konuklarımızdı. Doğal olarak kitaplarından tanıdığım, sevdiğim pek çok isimle orada tanıştım. Kitap delisi bir çocuk için büyük bir şanstı bu. Aynı zamanda felsefe bölümünde okuduğum için de yine çok değerli hocalarım oldu. Böylece sanat, edebiyat dünyasının içinde yaşamaya başladım.
Ada’da Mutlu Zamanlar
n Bir dönem Kıbrıs'ta da yaşamışsınız. Nasıl anlatırsınız Kıbrıs'ı? Vazgeçemediğiniz neler var burada? Kıbrıs’ta geçirdiğim yıllarda ortaokul öğrencisiydim. Çok sevdiğim insanlarla birlikteydim. Hâlâ da onları asla unutmam ve Ada'ya geldiğim zaman ziyaret ederim. Onları görmek bana büyük bir mutluluk ama aynı zamanda babamı ve o günleri hatırlattığı için biraz da hüzün verir. Ada o günlerde harekatın hemen sonrasında belki biraz yıkık döküktü ama yıllar süren bir baskı ve korku dönemi geride kaldığı için mutlu zamanlardı. Beni çok seven insanların arasındaydım ve tabii çocuklar için cennet, sevildikleri yerdir.

n Bugüne kadar yayınlanmış sekiz kitabınız var. Oysa siz son dönemde katıldığınız söyleşilerden birinde kitap yazmak konusunda tembel olduğunuzu söylüyorsunuz. Açar mısını biraz bu konuyu? Tabii bu nereden baktığınıza bağlı. Örneğin ünlü “Gönülçelen” romanının yazarı Salinger’i örnek alırsak ben fazla yazmışım diyebiliriz. Ama Attila İlhan’ı ya da Selim İleri’yi örnek alacak olursak çok tembel sayılırım. Özellikle “Başucumda Müzik” ve “Yaz” romanlarımın arası çok uzadı. 11 yıl sonra geldi yeni roman. Bu da uzun bir süre bir yazar için... Ben biraz fazla titizleniyorum, yazdığım her cümleyle fazla uğraşıyorum. 42

n In your biography it says “He started journalism in order to make pocket money”. ‘Gösteri’ magazine era dates back to the 80’s. Can you talk a little bit about the literature world back then? What were the advantages of being around the biggest writers, poets and thinkers? I started journalism at ‘Gösteri’ magazine. I have worked in almost every stage from editorship to management. I worked in different fields of journalism. I can say that ‘Gösteri’ magazine was a school for me. We not only published the works of important writers and poets but we also hosted them, therefore I had to chance to meet many names whose books I read and admired. For a boy, who was crazy about books, it was a great opportunity. I was also studying philosophy back then, so I had very important teachers. That is how I started to live in the world of art and literature.
Happy Times In e Island n You lived in Cyprus for a period of time. How would you describe it? What are the most important things about it? I was at middle school when I lived in Cyprus. I was living with the loved ones. I can never forget about them and whenever I come to the island I visit them. It gives me great pleasure seeing them, it also brings me great sorrow for it reminds me of my father and those old days. At the time the island was ruinous after the operation but it was also a happy period when years of pressure and fear had come to an end. I was around people who loved me the most and for a child it means heaven.
n You have eight published books. However, you mentioned in a recent interview that you are too lazy to write a book. Can you talk a little on that? It depends on how and from where you look at it. For example, if we look at Salinger, the writer of ‘The Catcher in the Rye’, we can say that I have written more. However, if we take Atilla İlhan or Selim İleri, it makes me look lazier. I took a long break between my books ‘Başucumda Müzik (Music By My Side)’ and ‘Yaz (Summer)’, the newest one arrived 11 years years later, which is a very long time for an author. I am a bit more meticulous about it, spend much more time on each sentence.

“Kıbrıs Bana İyi Geliyor” n merit Otelleri'nde sahne alıyorsunuz. memnun musunuz seyirciden, ortamdan, Kıbrıs'tan? Çok memnunum. Çok keyifli geçiyor merit konserlerimiz. Bana özel bir repertuvarla (ben ona biraz da gırgır olarak “saz, caz, düğün, varyete” diyorum) ve bize özel düzenlemelerle çıkıyoruz sahneye. eski, yeni, buradan ve dünyadan pek çok şarkı çalıyoruz. Ama en önemlisi izleyiciyle diyalog kurabilmek. merit’teki sahnemiz, buna imkan veren çok sevimli bir yer. Ayrıca Kıbrıs’a gelmek beni her zaman mutlu ediyor hatta diyebilirim ki sağlığıma bile iyi geliyor.
DüzYAzIDA şİİr tADI...
n Kitaplarınızın isimleri ahenkli, şiirel. Şiirle aranız yok, biliyoruz ama yazmak kadar bu isimlere de vakit ayırıyorsunuz sanırız. Biraz yazma sürecinden söz edelim bu aşamada. Nasıl başladı, nasıl devam etti? Kürşat Başar, nelerden ilham alır? Belli ritüelleri var mıdır? Nasıl yazar? Şiir yazmadım ama aslında şiiri çok severim. Çocukluğumdan beri de çok fazla şiir okurdum. Diyebilirim ki aslında düzyazıda şiirin tadını, sesini yakalamaya çalıştım her zaman. Şiir ve müzik beni en çok besleyen şeyler oldu. Belli ritüellerim yok aslında. Genellikle masamın başında yazmayı tercih ederim. Mutlaka müzik dinlerim yazarken. Bol bol kahve içerim. Gece geç saatlerde çalışmayı severim.
“Cyprus Makes Me Feel Good” n You take the stage at merit Hotels. Are you pleased with the audience and the atmosphere in Cyprus? I am very pleased, our merit concerts are so much fun. We have a special repertoire and special arrangements. Old and new, local or international, we play many different songs. the most important thing is to interact with the audience. Our cute little stage at merit allows us to achieve that. Apart from that, coming to Cyprus always makes me happy, I can even say that it makes me feel healthier.

n KIn your books the names are melodic and poetic. We know that you do not write poetry but you must spend a good amount of time on these details. Let’s talk a little bit about your writing process. How did it start and continue? What is the source of inspiration for Kürşat Başar? How does he write? I don’t write poetry but in fact I really love poetry. I have read a lot of poetry since I was a little child. I can say that I have tried to create a poetic effect on prose. Poetry and music are the things that I am inspired by the most. I don’t have any rituals, I generally like to write on my desk and drink lots of coffee. I like working until late hours.

n televizyonda da iyi ve farklı işler yaptınız yıllarca. Gecenin bir vakti yemek servisinin yapıldığı, şöyle mumlu, şamdanlı, çok konuklu, tadından yenmez program aklımıza geliyor öncelikle. fikir kimden ve nasıl çıkmıştı, hatırlıyor musunuz? Buna benzer birkaç program vardı dünyada. Bir arkadaşım bana fransız televizyonundaki örneğini getirmişti. Biz onu biraz değiştirdik. Burada, bir ev ortamında, yemek yenirken sohbet edilirse konukların kendilerini daha rahat hissedeceğini düşünmüştüm. Daha önce farklı bir sürü format yaptığım için konukların stüdyo ortamında yabancılaştığını ve kasıldığını biliyordum. Bunu kırmak için yaptığımız birşeydi aslında. n müzik, hayatınızda hep var oldu. Beylik bir soru olacak belki ama “edebiyat mı müzik mi?” dersek, yanıtınız ne olur? İkisi aslında benim hayat çizgilerimi oluşturuyor. Bazen yan yana gidiyorlar bazen kesişiyorlar. edebiyat biraz yalnız bir iş. tek başınıza başa çıkmanız gereken bir iş. müzik, hem başkalarıyla birlikte hem de başkalarının önünde yapılan bir şey. Aslında birbirinden çok farklı ama ben ikisini de çok seviyorum.

n for many years you were successful with different projects on tV as well. We immediately think about that show, where they served a fancy dinner at a very late hour in an environment with lots of candles, chandeliers and many guests. Who came up with this idea? there were a few examples of it in the world. A friend of mine brought me the french version, which we have adapted a little differently. I thought if we created a home atmosphere for our guests, where they can eat and chat with other guests, they would feel more comfortable. As I have done many different concepts before, I know that they become a bit more estranged and stressed. this was something we did in order to break that. n music has always been a part of your life. It will be a difficult question but what would you say if I asked ‘literature or music?’ they both constitute my lifelines. sometimes they go hand in hand and sometimes they intersect. literature is a job for one, you have to take care of everything on your own. music, however, is something you do with other people, in front of other people. they are very different from each other but I love them both equally.

The peninsula is home to Caretta Carettas, the Green Tortoise, the endangered Mediterranean Monk Seal, 300 plants, 200 species of birds, 100 fish and marine species, 8 sea mammals, 13 land-dwelling mammals, 21 reptilians, wild donkeys, sea plants, 20 registered historical artefacts and 5 archaeological sites, natural barriers, hills, dunes and sandy beaches, grits and rocks, two special environmentally protected areas, the only National Park in Northern Cyprus and 75% of the endemic species and floral diversity in Cyprus.

The crystal clear sea and untouched coves and sandy beaches stretching along the peninsula open the door to a Natural Paradise while archaeological sites, historical artefacts, endemic creatures, spawning grounds for birds and tortoises, short tree forests, wild and free Cyprus donkeys and the maquis shrubland make the region a centre of attraction. Home to a strikingly rich biological diversity, the maquis species, junipers, olive and carob trees ensure the region remains covered with lush green. Sea daffodils, orchids, bosea cypria, wild liquorice, Persian cyclamen, Scutellaria sibthorpii, Phoenicean juniper, arbor vitae, Thymus capitatus are the most distinct species in the peninsula. Rosemary, Hypecoeae and common bugloss are among the rare species. We should remind you that there is a festival held for the Cyprus tulip. The diversity of the flora and the fauna are not limited to them, for sure. There are 19 butterfly species dwelling in the region. The sea turtles and donkeys are like the symbols of Karpaz. The endangered Mediterranean Monk Seal can only be seen in the shores of Karpaz. The peninsula is also an important spawning ground for birds. Audouin's gull , European shag, Cyprus Warbler, Cyprus Wheatear are among the rarely seen species dwelling in the region.

Situates in the Easternmost edge of the island, the monastery had served as an important resting place on the pilgrimage route of Greek Orthodox pilgrims. Apostolos Andreas, the saint monastery was named after is an important saint of the Christian canon, who worked miracles, ruled the winds, protected the pilgrims and travellers. Apostolos Andreas was one of the first people who was called to serve as a priest by Jesus Christ himself.

Karpaz halkını M.S. 4. yüzyılda Hıristiyan yapan azizin adına yapılmış. Agios Philon Kilisesi, aslında Helenistik ve Roma Dönemleri’nden kalan yıkıntıların üzerine inşa edilmiş. Arap korsanlarınca yıkılan yapının üzerine M.S. 12. yüzyılda kubbeli bir Bizans kilisesi yapılmış. Yapının tabanında renkli taşlardan yapılmış mozaikler görülmeye değer.

Ayios Philon Church was erected in the 4th century AD the name of the saint who spread Christianity among the inhabitants of Karpaz was built on remains from the Hellenistic and Roman eras. The building was destroyed by Arabian pirates and in 12th century AD, they raised a Byzantine church from the ruins. The coloured-stone mosaics that ornament the floor of the building are worth seeing.

The Easternmost of the castles situated on the Besparmak Mountains, the Kantara Monastery was built to dominate the Mesaoria plain and the entrance of the Karpaz Peninsula. It is thought to be built after the Arab raids by the Byzantines, like Saint Hilarion and Buffavento Castles however recorded history mentions the name for the first time in 1191, when Richard the Lion heart conquered the island. It was surrounded with walls in 1391 by King James. After the Venetian conquest of the island, the castle, like its counterparts situated equally far to the centre, was vacated of soldiers and lost its importance. The castle includes defence positions, soldier rooms, vaulted rooms and signal tower.

ayatta genel geçer kabul edilen doğrulardan biri de gecikenin kaybettiğidir. Sanırım daha doğru olan, doğru zamanda doğru yerde olmak ya da doğru zamanda doğru işler yapmaktır. Dıştan bakıldığı zaman gecikme kaybettirir gibi görünse de talihli gecikmeler, daha güzel, daha doğru koşullara yol açar. Kuzey Kıbrıs turizmini, tam da böyle görüyorum.
Gecİkmenİn olumlu etkİlerİ...
Turizm, Kıbrıs adasının bütününde 1960’lı yılların sonlarında ivme kazandı. O dönem, dünya genelinde turizmin ekonomik boyutunun öne çıkma adımlarının atıldığı, günümüzle kıyaslandığında turizm amaçlı seyahatlerin çok az olduğu yıllar… Kıbrıs Türk toplumunda turizm, 1974 sonrası fark edilecek bir görünüme sahip oldu. İnsanlar turizmde gelecek olduğuna inandı. Ancak pek çok etken, turizmde büyük ölçekli yatırımları geciktirdi. Doğal yaşamı tehdit etmeyen, çevre dostu bir turizm yavaşlığıyla bugünlere gelindi. Bu gecikme, Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta pozitif etkiler yaratmıştır. Yerleşim alanı sınırlı ada beton yığınlarına teslim olmadı. Deneme ve yanılma, en pahalı öğrenme yöntemidir. Gecikme başka ülkelerin deneyimlerinden yararlanma şansı da vermiştir. Turizm, yerel değerlerin uluslararası rekabet ortamında pazarlanmasıdır. Uluslararası turizm pazarından pay alabilmek için hem kalitenizin, hem de rekabet koşullarının uygun olması gerekir. Kuzey Kıbrıs, turizm alanında ciddi mesafe almaktadır...
O
ne thing is sure; the one that is late always is the losing one. I think it is the right thing to be at the right place at the right time or do the right thing at that time. Although it may seem like a long process, the term “better late than never” at times leads to guaranteed success. That exactly defines tourism in Cyprus.
Positive sides of delay…
Tourism industry started to rise in Cyprus during the late 60s. It was a period of time that tourism was starting to gain economic importance, yet, compared to today, traveling for tourism purposes was not widespread….In Cyprus society, tourism became noticeable after 1974, people started to see a future in the industry. However, so many different factors caused its delay for big investments, especially the intent for creating environmentfriendly tourism that is also environmentally non-threatening. This delay led to a positive effect in Northern Cyprus. The island didn’t become a concrete jungle. Trial and error is the most effective method. This delay gave the chance to get to learn from other countries’ experiences. Tourism promotes national values in an international arena. To be able to have a place in that arena you have to have certain quality and competitive conditions. Northern Cyprus makes huge progress in tourism.

Sanat ya da meslek anlamında başarılı insanlar için “Tanrı bu işi başarması için yarattı” tanımlaması yapılır. Kıbrıs adası ve özellikle Kuzey Kıbrıs, turizmden nasibini alması için var olmuş bir coğrafya parçasıdır. Çok az ülkede Kıbrıs’ın tarihi zenginliği ve değişik kültür izleri vardır. Örneğin Lefkoşa’nın Selimiye Meydanı'nda dört farklı uygarlığın; Lüzinyan, Venedik, Osmanlı ve İngiliz dönemlerinin silinmeyen izleri 360 derecelik bakışla görülebilir… Kıbrıs mutfağının orijinalliği, çok farklı kültürlerin karışımından oluşmasıdır. Benden bu yazı istenirken bir de soru soruldu: “Merit’in Kıbrıs’a kazandırdıkları ve gelinen noktadaki rolü nedir?” diye. Bir söz var: Ayinesi iştir kişinin, lafa bakılmaz. Merit, Net Holding bünyesinde bir kuruluş. For successful people, we use the term ‘made for it’. Cyprus, especially Northern Cyprus, is a land made for tourism. Not so many countries have this much of cultural opulence and diverse cultural heritage as Cyprus does. For example we can see the presence of four different cultures in Lefkosa’s Selimiye square; Lusignan,Venice, Ottoman and British. The richness of Cyprus cuisine comes from this cultural hybrid. So many Cypriot Turks cook pasta in their home as an old Venice period habit. Natural beauty and spectacular Mediterranean beaches leave visitors speechless…
merit’s contributions to cyPrus
When I was writing this piece I was asked ‘What is the role of Merit in Cyprus’s tourism industry today?’ As they say ‘Actions speak louder than words’. Merit is an establishment of Net Holding, which is one of the biggest names in Turkey. However when you look at what they do, Net Holding and Merit both look like Cyprus based companies. Merit made big investments not only in the Northern Cyprus but all across the island. As Merit raised the bar through these big investments, they also became successful examples in business management in the professional sense. Merit’s marketing strategy plays a huge role in Northern Cyprus’s promotion and marketing in the tourism industry.

Net Holding iştiraklerinden Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören Merit Turizm Yatırım ve İşletmeleri AŞ., yıllık olağan kurulunu geçtiğimiz günlerde yaptı. Toplantıda, mevcut yatırımların yanı sıra yapılması planlanan çalışmalar konuşuldu... İstanbul Fulya’daki Net Plaza’daki genel kurul, Merit Turizm Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Reha Arar'ın yönetiminde gerçekleşti. Net Holding Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Hande Tibuk ve Arar’ın bilançolar ve yatırımlar hakkında bilgi verdiği toplantıya çok sayıda ortak katıldı.

Several partners joined the meeting, where Arar and the member of the Net Holding Administrative Board, Hande Tibuk, presented information about their annual statement and investments.

Cold Cheesecake Yapılışı Toz şeker ve suyu, 110 dereceye kadar kaynatın. Sonrasında yumurta sarısını ekleyerek malzemeyi kabartın. Karışıma peynirleri ilave edin ve tekrar karıştırın. Kremayı da karışıma ekleyin. Tüm malzemeyi bir kalıba alıp soğutucuda dondurun. Ardından frambuazları, bir miktar şekerde kaynatın. Cheesecake'i, sosuyla servis edin.
Directions Mix sugar and water and boil it up to 100 C degrees. Add egg yolks and fluff up the mixture. Add cheese and keep on stirring. Put the mixture in a bowl and let it cool in the freezer. Boil raspberries with sugar and serve your cheesecake with this sauce.

Yapılışı Sütü, krema ve şekerin yarısıyla kaynatın. Şekerin kalanını yumurtayla karıştırıp kaynayan malzemeye yedirin. Soğutulduktan sonra kalan kremayı içine yedirerek karışımı kabartın.

Directions Boil milk and cream with the half of the sugar. Mix the other half with the egg and add it to the boiled mixture. After it is cool, add the rest of the cream into the mixture and fluff it.

Let’s cut the intro short and delve into the tastes the Blue Sea offers. Blue Sea boasts expertise in Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant, distinguished for its maritime tavern atmosphere, has a fixed menu. What’s in that menu? Let us drop the name of some signature dishes: hummus with warm pastrami for example. If you are into hot tastes, hot ezme salad and borani (you might know it by the name atom or heroine) are also on the menu. If we sail Westwards, we locate the famous Crete paste on the menu. Seafood on the menu is enhanced with tapas. Marinated sea bass along with shrimp and sliced octopus are all superb. Blue Sea serves a palette of 12 different mezzes. To accompany the course, you can order an arugula salad or a classic mixed salad which would appeal to your eyes as well as your taste buds.

WATCH THE SUN GO DOWN SAY HELLO TO THE NIGHT Kalpazankaya Restaurant has been in service on Burgazada since 1959, located right next to the rock it has been named after. The restaurant is over-looking the sea and just a 15-20 minutes walking distance from the pier plaza. It is packed with customers and full of flavors. If you have the time, I suggest you go there during the week, not the weekend, and whilst you are there make sure you watch the sunset. It is almost inevitable to be filled with happiness watching this unique sunset of Istanbul. Keep in mind that apart from the seafood that is served in the restaurant, roasted lamb is also worth trying.

Sofram Balık in Selimpaşa is located right next to the sea and has been in service since 1978. It was the first fish restaurant of the area. It is quite far from the city but definitely worth the trip. I guess I am not the only one who thinks so, because they have regular customers from Anatolian side of the city and all the way from Tuzla. The second generation of Kankaya Family, that is originally from Salonica, runs the restaurant today. They believe in their cuisine and they have every right to do so. Make sure you try octopus carpaccio, fish roe salad, pickled tunny and fish pastrami. Calamari and scorpionfish shish is also a must try. Happiness is guaranteed if you ever go to Selimpaşa. Sidar Budak, who is very young yet very experienced, is the one who runs the business. He was surrounded by animals as he grew up in Kars, his hometown, so he knows what is up with the meat business. He studied mechanical engineering but his love for being a chef was stronger. In July 2010 he opened up his place in Şaşkınbakkal, which is both a restaurant and a butcher. The meat is from their own farm. I suggest you try the veal, shish kebab and their special sausage. With a price range that can be considered reasonable, this place will not disappoint you. If you are looking for a decent and characteristic tavern, Benusen, located in Kadıköy, is the place for you. Starting as a kebab house in 1972, then transforming into a tavern at the end of that year, the place takes its name from a street in Diyarbakır, which also means 'me and you' in Persian. Visiting the place after so many years, I should say that I found the exact same taste. They sell freshly fished mullet, mackerel or haddock, depending on the season, which you must try.
