INFORMATION FOR VISITORS: CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS

Welcome to the world of insights. 23rd International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis, Biotechnology and analytica Conference April 17–20, 2012 l Messe München l www.analytica.de

Tracking down traces In actual practice, solving criminal cases is not nearly as spectacular as on the investigation shows on TV, but innovative analysis techniques and modern molecular biology methods definitely help to solve crimes. Analysis is an important key to success both in forensics, and toxicology in particular, and in clinical diagnostics.

Crime scene: analytica From taking specific samples, typical trace analysis, select coupling techniques and PCR technology, which is now indispensible in forensics and medical laboratories, to evaluation and archiving techniques, the latest developments will be on display at analytica 2012: • Analysis and imaging techniques • Molecular-biology methods • Molecular diagnostics • Microbiology techniques • Microarray and chip technologies • Enrichment techniques • Automation techniques • Quality assurance and quality control

Special highlight in 2012: Live Labs Live Lab: Forensics & Clinical Diagnostics (Hall A3)

N L i v e E W: Labs

For the first time ever, analytica will present three exciting Live Labs on various subject blocks in 2012. A special laboratory with representative equipment is being set up for the forensics and clinical diagnostics sector. Besides plenary sessions, experiment presentations will be made against this laboratory backdrop. Well-known manufacturers will present innovative equipment systems and specific applications in actual operation. On the first day of the fair, Germany’s best known criminal biologist, Mark Benecke, will explain how the latest DNA analysis techniques can be used to draw conclusions about crimes and/or criminals.
