INFORMATION FOR VISITORS: FOOD ANALYSIS

Welcome to the world of insights. 23rd International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis, Biotechnology and analytica Conference April 17–20, 2012 l Messe München l www.analytica.de

How healthy is our food? Another food scandal? Or frequently asked questions like “How healthy is the salad?”, “Am I getting essential vitamins or a cocktail of pesticides?” and “How reliable is the information on food packaging?” Consumers are uncertain and demanding safe food. Bioactive, genetically engineered, natural and nature-identical food ingredients and their metabolites should be clearly labeled.

Food analysis at analytica To clear up these issues, analysis techniques are indispensible when it comes to characterizing and quantitatively assessing toxic ingredients. analytica 2012 will showcase the latest equipment configurations and the industry’s future-oriented trends: • Food analysis, sample-taking and sample preparation • Molecular-biology methods and GMO analysis • Microbiology techniques • Food hygiene • Drinking water • Substance migration • Aroma and odorous substances • Probiotics • Safety, monitoring, risk evaluation • Laws, norms, guidelines—Labeling and consumer protection

Special highlight in 2012: Live Labs Live Lab: Food and Water Analysis (Hall B2)

N L i v e E W: Labs

For the first time ever, analytica will present three exciting Live Labs on various subject blocks in 2012. A completely equipped laboratory world is being set up for food and water analysis. Besides plenary sessions, experiment presentations will be made against this laboratory backdrop for food analysis. Well-known manufacturers will present innovative equipment systems and specific applications that pertain to the topics of food, water and the environment in actual operation. A3
