LASER World of PHOTONICS raises the bar in terms of size, variety, and (practical) relevance. Basis of this success? Its systematic further development alongside advancements in photonics. The more areas of application and fields this key technology covers, the more significance the world’s leading trade fair gains in its role as the market’s driving force. This goes hand in hand with a first-grade portfolio.
This is the only place where you will find this unique combination of research, technology and applications. It is only here that you will find the entire value chain of photonics. In addition, only this particular trade fair offers a chance to meet all key players to grow your international network. Be part of this unique network and experience: THE LEADING LIGHT.

APPLICATION PANELS
START-UP WORLD AND THE PHOTONICS AWARD
Practice-oriented series of lectures on the application fields for light as a tool. In 2017, these presentations saw some 1,500 attendees gathering information on the latest industrial applications, challenges and solution approaches in photonics.
This presentation platform is for international startups that have been active on the market for less than five years. The “Photonics Award,” which honors outstanding product innovations of new companies, is also presented here.
Main topics: Industrial laser applications Biophotonics and medical applications Optical metrology and imaging Lasers and optics
MAKEATHON In this technology and photonics development competition for software and hardware, competing teams develop initial prototypes in just 24 hours. Most participants are students and young engineers, however, anyone is welcome to participate.
14TH INTERNATIONAL LASER MARKETPLACE Leading experts—decision-makers and executives from production, sales, research and marketing—discuss economic and technological developments in key laser markets as well as trends in industrial laser technology.
CAREER CENTER Free coaching sessions, career and application advice along with support in finding jobs, training positions and internships for college graduates as well as experienced engineers and physicists.
SPECIAL SHOWS Live presentations of the latest photonics applications from renowned institutes and exhibitors. Examples include additive manufacturing, microprocessing, metrology, optical imaging and quality assurance.
GUIDED TOURS Exhibitors present customer-specific manufacturing solutions to their visitors in themed guided tours to expand their target audience. m
