BRENDA ANGSTROM WEBSTER COUNTY TREASURER
WHAT IMPORTANT UPDATES WOULD YOU LIKE TO REMIND WEBSTER COUNTY RESIDENTS ABOUT? Angstrom: The Tax statements are mailed by the end of August for current tax years. The first half of taxes are due September 1st and are payable until September 30th without penalty. Penalty for September payment starts October 1st. The second half of taxes are due March 1st and payable until March 31st, with penalties beginning April 1st. Residents can pick up a Rent Reimbursement form from the Treasurer’s office, but we do not have any part in this process. This form is the responsibility of the renter, and any questions should be directed to The Iowa Department of Revenue. This information is listed on the form. I would like to update all homeowners in Webster County on the current options the State of Iowa offers to reduce property taxes if you qualify. The Treasurer Association and the Department of Revenue have come together to add to the already in place Iowa Property Tax Credit Claim known as Disabled/Elderly Credit Claim (DSC).
