YOU ARE EVER SO WELCOME TO HELSINKI AND MESSUKESKUS LET US LOOK AFTER YOU
Helsinki welcomes scientists from all over the world to work for the good of us and to enjoy our beautiful city.
Science is about expanding human understanding. So is travelling. Combine the two and bring it to the northern capital of cool, Helsinki. That’s a recipe for a meaningful and enlightening experience. Travel is a mix of comfort and discomfort. Helsinki wants to get rid of the “dis”. Easy to travel to, immediate access to and from the airport, stunning and booming culinary scene from street food to fine dining and, needless to say, spot on congress facilities. All this combined with an ultra clean urban environment close to the nature is what Helsinki is about. Head of Congresses in Messukeskus, Paula Blomster explains how extraordinary service is what Helsinki wants to be known for: “We are not happy with just ordinary. We aim to be the leading congress venue in the Nordic countries and have for example, as the first large venue implemented fixed Augmented Reality services within our premises. But the secret of our success is our devoted staff who always take an additional mile to meet the expectations of the client.”
Nature meets urban vibe The most exotic and affordable Nordic capital One of the most competitive economies with buzzing startup life Fresh air and green nature: 123 km of coastline and 315 islands Summer daytime temperatures: 18−30 degrees (Celsius)
Helsinki’s reputation as a congress city and Messukeskus premises influenced our decision. It was my pleasure to work with all of you and I think I can easily say that it has been one of the smoothest meeting organisations ever :) – Bruno Van den Eede, Managing Director, ESHRE Central Office, Belgium
Photography: Jussi Hellsten
I can see that Helsinki would be a fantastic congress destination, and can put on a world class event. And I think it is important to have new interesting ways of engaging with participants, meaning that applications like yours (e.g. AR app) could be very interesting indeed. – Callum Clench, Executive Director, International Water Resources Association
