Editorial Behind it was February. An important month for the scene of the rock in Cuba, because it is the month where takes place (annually) another edition of the Evento de Promotores Rock de la Loma and the Brutal Fest that it always brings bands of the goods more underground of diverse countries. As for the Evento de Promotores Rock de la Loma, of which will take place their XV edition in 2019 I can tell them (as assistant to the same one) that, in spite of the dissimilar situations that arose, the same one was carried out satisfactorily with wide presence of Cuban rock bands, because it was not possible the attendance of some foreign band. The rest of the programmed activities: presentations of magazines and reports on the situation of the current Cuban rock without place to doubts were enough interesting, but like it comes happening in several previous editions, there was not any representative of the Cuban Agency of Rock, considered by many bands like the Havana Agency of the Rock, to be located this in the capital of Cuba, Havana. Alone it is to wait at the 2019 to see like the XV Edition is developed. On this event and interviews with the participant bands will have more information in the next edition. As for the Brutal Fest, in comparison with previous years, the invited foreign bands enjoyed great welcome for all the assistants. This is the only thing that I can say then I didn't attend this Festival. As for the international scene the most attractive thing was the important prize that was granted to the band Metallica, prize considered as the Nobel of the Music. On this important event they will have more information in this edition. Edition, Design and Realization: Alejandro Pérez Zerquera. After a 2017 incredible, with a CD that was among the best in that year and with a long world tour, the next one April 6 Burn it will come out "Burn It Down", the fourth disk of the super band The Dead Daisies. Opportune moment that I took advantage to interview to Marco Mendoza (bass); who also tell us s on a possible visit to Cuba this year. By: Alejandro Pérez.
2017 was another awesome year for the band with an incredible “Live & Louder” CD and a lot of shows through many countries. Also your concert with the Gorzow Orchestra at the Woodstock Festival and your Dozen Tour in America were massive!! Yes, that was a great experience working with The Gorzow Orchestra, the music and arrangements were great. A very special concert in Poland! The U.S. dates were incredible as well!! How do you feel about the year ahead for The Dead Daisies? How would you define the last year for The Dead Daisies? In my opinion the band is just getting stronger in every way, the sound and the songs are getting heavier and we are finding a bit of our own sound, and that’s what happen when you play so many live shows and record as much as we have been in the last four year. Last year was stellar and there is no doubt in my mind this year will be even better!!
Last November Brian Tichy left the band and was replaced by Deen Castronovo. How did you feel about it when Tichy decided to leave the band? How did you choose Deen to be the new drummer in the band? How was the reaction of the public due to these changes in the band? When we announced that Dean Castronovo was going to join the band, the fans around the world were so supportive and excited!! We were so happy and lucky that Dean was into it and available. We can’t wait to present him to the rest of the world as The new Dead Daisies drummer, he is amazing!! Brian Tichy is and will always be part of the ‘family’ and he is one talented cat, musically has so much to offer in so many ways he wanted and need to pursue that. Like everybody in this band we get a lot of call to do this or that, so he had quite a few other things he wanted to go check out, and so he made that decision and we wish him well!! Love and respect always for Brian! Bring on the Dean Machine!! The 6thof April sees the release of your new CD “Burn it Down”. How was the process of writing and recording? How many songs will be on the album? What are the plans to promote the album? How do you think the new album will be received by your fans and the media? We always start getting ideas on the road when we know we will be doing some recording, so we do get them down and bring all possible ideas to our first writing sessions, that was in New York in October of last year 2017 for nine days or so, then we flew to Nashville to record in Marty’s studio for two or three weeks. We try to capture as much live recording as possible then we take it from there. The album will have 10 tracks with one bonus track, we will promote the album by the same way we have been, interviews, touring, TV, radio etc. I see you worked with Marti Frederiksen again on the new album. Why did you decide to work with Marti again? What is it like to work with Marti? Marti becomes part of the band when he is producing and focuses in all the possibilities of a direction on a song until we find it, we have a lot of trust in him and he always delivers – he’s great!! We have done a lot of work through the years, and he is just the right Cat for this on top of that he really enjoys doing it and in my books that is really important because then you get better results.
I listened to the track “Resurrected” and see that the sound is more powerful, strong and heavier than previous albums. Will we find a new sound of The Dead Daisies on this CD? Or will this be a new phase for the band? I think we all made a copious decision to move forward in a heavier way musically…..and the results are great! What can we expect from The Dead Daisies this year e.g. Next tours? Maybe a visit to Cuba? There has been talk about visiting Cuba again, but we have to see what develops, we will definitely start touring at the beginning of April all over the planet, so stay tuned. Well Marco, this is all. Thanks again for your time and I wish for you the best with this new CD and hope we can see to The Dead Daisies in Cuba very soon. Before to finish, something that you want to say to the Cuban public that love the Rock & Roll? Cuba Los Quiero Mucho!! Nos Vemos Pronto!! Adios!!

“BURN IT DOWN” is a muscular tour-de-force, tour force, a tornado of pounding drums, pulverizing bass, screaming guitars and in-your-face in face raw vocals. Our Days In Oblivion (O.D.I.O) are a band of Tenerife, island belonging to Spain. This band highlights for its musical aggressiveness and its potent letters where mix goods like the trash and the punk; and it proves of this it was their first CD titled CD “The Mourner”, which obtained great reat repercussion at world level. On this disk, beginnings of the band and other topics I talked with Ed Vera, their vocalist. By:: Alejandro Pérez.
To star. When and were arises the band and what’s hat’s meaning the name? The band was born after the breakup of the band of Hard Rock in Spanish in which they had overturned its efforts Juan (drumms) and Arturo (guitar), after publishing a first EP. They decided to stay united and to compose new riffs in search of a definitive formation. After one one period of something more than 6 months, they decided next to Luismy, our first drummers to make tests for somebody to the voice. I sang in a group of Urban Rock with another main singer one second tracklis integrated inside the same concert in which we made versions of Trash rash Metal of bands like Pantera, Pantera, Metallica and Sepultura. Sepul I loved the riffs that Arturo sent me. They were as threads waiting being knitted. knitted I made the test and I entered. That that more I liked of the band it is that we didn't have a predetermined edetermined style and that we could compose directly in the rehearsal local about the ideas. It allowed us to contribute our influences, those of each one of us, without having to imitate anybody. Something that has not changed with the incorporation of Frank ank Gómez (bass) that is also contributing new elements. The name arose originally of using the one of one of we are recorded them. When I incorporated to the formation, we value to change it, on one hand because several bands already existed with that name at national and international level, and for other, because in spite of the fact that the motto was to transform the "ODIO" in something positive as the music or the creativity, we didn't want him to be misinterpreted. Since we had already acted I lower low that name, we maintained it in form of initials that contained a concept something deeper and more poetic; Our Days in Oblivion; nearer to the meaning than it is
necessary to wake up and to make something with the manipulation of other and all the injustices tices that surround us. Who are their actually members? members We all are of the Island of Tenerife. Me, (Ed Vera-voice) Vera voice) I am native of The Orotava in the north of Tenerife; Juan González (Drumm) (Drumm) it is of The Lagoon, the second city of the island; Arturo "Kani" (guitar) it is of Santa Cruz of Tenerife and Frank Gómez (bass) it is of the Villa of Arafo, in the south of the island. It makes us special illusion to carry out an interview with a half Cuban one since I have family in Cuba of the first great Canarian emigration in the years 30. A part of the family lives there and I could not meet them until 4 years ago when I went to visit the island. What are you main influences? influences We contribute to the he mixture, when composing in the rehearsal local, our influences without thinking about of where they come, by no means trying to imitate anybody. We are very open of mind at musical level. We like the metal very much, but we listen of everything: classic rock, hardcore, punk, soul, cantautores… we Try that all that has nurtured us flows through the songs. Let us talk about your first CD “The Mourner” which has been an entire success so much at national level as international and ithas received excellent critical on the part of noted means like La Heavy and Metal Hammer. How much has it represented for the band the great acceptance that has had this CD? It has been without a doubt a great push. We are tremendously proud of the repercussion ssion of the album. We composed it without more expectation that to project our rage in a disk and to make the music that we would like to hear. The fact that people have connected with "The Mourner" and ittransformed it in a more universal CD, allowing us to rotate outside of the island, to have endorsements like Bare Knuckle Pickups or to make international interviews as this, it allows us to overturn us in still making a new disk bigger and better. How did you feel when this CD was chosen among the best in metal in Spain in the 2015? Felices con el éxito del disco y agradecidos con el público, que es el que al final te hace grande. Did you think at some time that this your first CD would have a level so high of acceptance? No. We knew that it was good, but we always think that we could not be objective on him. It was our small created monster and we didn't know if the public would accept it and he would like as much as to us.
Let us go more into details on this work. How was it the process of edition and recording? We record it in the studies of David Correa in Arafo. One of the most important producers in Tenerife.A honor to record with him. To go by their hands was good us to improve as musicians and we like the vision that contributed on the album with a production that transmitted the force of the direct ones without sacrificing the sound making it too raw. How many songs does itbring and do have more than enough that the same ones go? 10 songs and a bonus track in homage to the scene musical compound Canarian for one of the songs “Room 408” sung by components of bands friends. It depends some the song. If you want I enumerate to you. “Cowards Frontline” it talks about people that feel proud of not being people's part that makes suffer to the rest, but the only thing that you/they make it is to be scandalized and to criticize it, without trying to change anything. They are in "The e line of the cowards' battle", the surest place where to be. In the bottom it is a self-criticism. “Dreambreak (Planets Collide)” it is a real history on a holdup that I suffered while he lived in Argentina and the stranger course of the events. I don't want to make of Spoiler. Follow the letter. The topic is with subtlites in YouTube. “This house” it uses as resource the disintegration of the language to try to decorate kind of a terror atmosphere, in which a man accepts that the rage transforms him in a murderer. “Altered States of Consciousness” it talks about the necessity of taking drugs for not perceiving such reality realit which is. “Perphenazine” it is narrated in first person and it tries on a mental patient in the time in which the psychiatric ones were very similar to the jails. “Evil Resident” it talks about to contain the rage in the face of the oppression of a person and to wait your moment to hire at least it waits him for it. “Room 408” it is a simple history on to have a horrible day and to attempt that that day it changes through the sex and the alcohol. Very to the style Bukowski. “Facing Death” it talks about getting sick to the death after being detected a terminal illness. “Superhero Syndrome”, Syndrome” it is a song about the necessity of helping to other although that sinks you the life to you. “Jealousy”, it speaks of like when discovering an infidelity a man it is possessed by the demons of the jealousies that take it to the paranoia and the suffering.
How was all the related with the promotion and diffusion of this CD? Very well. We have Stefan Vilches to direct the first videoclip "Cowards Frontline" of which we are very proud. Thin Hiurma that took charge of the Artwork of the album, also obtained several winning pictures of our direct ones. Art Gates, gave him a high diffusion in the means, and finally finally we gave him the best window to enjoy the disk: The direct ones! Where can one obtain in these moments this work? You can request it through our page of Facebook: www.facebook.com/odio.banda and we willll make it arrive the but quick possible to any part of the world. Among 2016 2017 the peninsula like part of the tour of presentation of “The Mourner”, where played with bands of fame as Sober and Morphium among others. How do you remember this tour? How was the public's reaction in each presentation of the band? How did you feel to the power to share scenario with bands of international fame? The tour was 2 years of authentic intoxication in direct with all type of experiences and learnings. To try to defend the album and even to improve it in the concerts, before unknown publics, it is of the experiences that more they make grow to a band in my my opinion. The public is contagious in our way of enjoying and it still returns us more energy to give everything. That of playing with other bands is which are it is enriching. He/she helps you to take care more the songs, the image… you learn of their strong strong points and you even establish friendship with some from the members when being reflected in that passion by the music that you share with them. I know that in these moments they are buried in all the related with their new disk. What can you tell us of this new work? How many song it will bring? Some video to promote it? How will all the be related with the promotion and diffusion of the CD? The new CD will be a conceptual disk on psychopaths and narcissus, and he/she will speak on like they inflict inflict pain in the other ones to feel powerful. We have overturned our creative potential and we have taken it further on a step, making different things but without losing our essence. The incorporation of Frank in the composition has enriched even more the the mixture. Finishing in the study are right now and we hope they enjoy it as much as us. It will be compound for 11 topics, and yes that we will make videoclip and it rotates of the same one. They will adore it
How is it to be in a direct of O.D.I.O? It is so a Russian mountain of emotions and musical moments of which cannot escape, hold on to strong. How is the public's reaction? The public takes the direct ones at another level and he makes us surprise us of our own reaction returning the direct ones energetic and potent. What will we be able to expect from the band for this year 2018? Next presentations or tours? We want to rotate for the world. We already have contacts in China, Mexico, Argentina and Italy. Right now we are in process of design of our tour, in which it will fall a fat, included couple of festivals the seminal of the south conference of the Wacken Spain in Seville. Well boys, this is everything. I wish you lot of luck with with your new CD and the best. I wish willing we can see here to the band in Cuba. Any words that you want to say You have said it, what we want and we want to say it is that we would like to play in Cuba, so much for our family knots as for the passion that the Cubans demonstrate toward the music. Metallica was rewarded with the Polar Prize, the Nobel of the music. The jury of the Real Swedish Academy of Music manifested: "From the emotional agitation of Wagner and the cรกnones of Tchaikovski, nobody had created music so physical and furious and, even so, so accessible."
Metallica is one of the names forced in the world of the rock weighed by a multitude of reasons. Mainly, and almost against all presage, they have continued playing: in spite of the alcohol, the drugs, the fights of years, the changes of drumms, and the personal crises. They have not only continued producing new music (with some albums better achieved that other, clear), but giving turns to the globe with height and professionalism. Every night they scream One and pass for Enter Sandman as if it was still the 90. The audiences have changed, but the band has been able to incorporate new followers to a plagued catalog of successes: 11 study albums, besides several live (that includes a concert with the philharmonic of San Francisco) that have guided a 36 year-old career. Metallica is that type of bands that almost everything can be allowed. To be cut the hair, against all the commands of the heavy rock and the metal?: Yes, clear, why not? To experience making a double disk with the accompaniment of one of the best symphonic orchestras in the planet dangerously, and that it still sounds heavy, imposing, raw?: of course. That the drummer begins a demand
against one of the services of discharges of more popular internet of the world, and to be hated for this reason? absolutely. To make therapy grupal, being exposed to the fragility of the intimacy? obvious, did they even make a documentary with that material (Some kind of Monster). Besides the reasons already existent that maintain effective to the members of Metallica, now sink a new argument of karats because the band was rewarded this Wednesday February 14 with the Polar Prize, a reward that is always compared with the Nobel of the music. From the emotional agitation of Wagner and the cรกnones of Tchaikovski, nobody had created music so physical and furious and, even so, so accessible.", it was some of the words that stand out in the failure published for a couple of hours by the Real Swedish Academy of Music were. But the American band of high sounds was not the only homenajeada. The work of Afghan National Institute of Music was also recognized (ANIM, for its initials in English) whose purpose is to modify the habits of hundreds of young through the sound art. The award-winning ones will receive the prize of the king's hands XVI Carlos Gustavo. The recognition is endowed with a million Swedish crowns (what is equal to more than 100.000 Eurus), and its possessors will be congratulated in an elegance that will take place June 14 in Stockholm.

THE SUMMER TOUR OF THE ROLLING STONES FOR UK AND IRELAND Although it is not official, it is speaking in an insistent way that The Rolling Stones will make next summer a tour for United Kingdom and Irelan. In a recent interview, Mick Jagger, practically it confirmed that the band gets ready to attack those summer concerts. All this comes soon after that the Stones didn't play last year in the islands, ending up apologizing to the fans via Facebook for the shows lack in those lands. Now, the Stones want to compensate their followers.
