They had campaign houses and hammocks, posters, T-shirts with the famous logo of the British band, tattoos, rock and roll that came out from some cellular one, flags, euphoria. These are the pictures of that memorable day.

The Rolling Stones
Satisfaction, the myth, the island and the rock and roll Hundred of spectators' thousands crammed the Sport City of the capital to witness the energy waste and good music that it gave the legendary British band. By: Michel Hernรกndez (published en Granma newspaper March 27th)
The multitude screams like a hungry beast. It screams with vehemence. Without contention. It screams until the lungs are exploded, they request aid or they are left without a drop of air. It is a scream that has expected a lot of time to crystallize, to reach the maximum volume and that now, in a single night, it is the sound that arrives to the scenario from below, from the bottom, from a corner, from the bowel of a country - because here whole Cuba was - that Rolling Stones that it requests rock and roll that requests to their satanic majesties that leave a damned time to the scenario, to devour them, to feel the brutal blow of their songs in the stomach, requests so that some walked for the Preserve again or since Cuban town exists with Satisfaction, Star me up or Brown Sugar eating them the head, and feeling to fullness the rock and roll like a possible destination, like a form of life. Mick Jagger knows what happens there out. He listens from their dressing room, to few meters of the scenario, the frantic screams, the longings of thousands that they cannot wait another second to have some musicians that never dreamt of seeing in direct before and that now they arrived to sit down rules, for of a blow to be located from Cuba in the summit of the world - where, by the way they have remained during more than four decades -, and to recover more than 50 years in the emotional distance of their Cuban followers. Jagger, 72 years old, lands in the scenario like a force of the nature, he throws to the
public in the pocket greeting with two or three sentences in Spanish and it attacks with Jumping Jack Flash, one the horses of battle of the repertoire. The Rolling Stones, with more than 50 years of career, they are one ace in playing with the symbols. With the presage that, for example, due to their indefatigable scenic projection they would locate Jagger to these heights in a house of London taking care of their grandsons. Jagger knows that it is an exception in the human species, and he makes boast of it. He runs of a side to other, it moves the hips as if he wanted that flew in a thousand pieces and he sings as if he had in the throat the motor of the Motown. Keith Richards is a damned demon. He makes fun of everything - until of their 72 years - with a smile sometimes ironic, sometimes of a strange juvenile happiness. He plays the guitar with an incredible dexterity, it is allowed the same splendors with which it took off 50 years in an imaginable way ago, and he sings some of the blues of whose sound the band drank until getting drunk. Keith knows that everything points to that should no longer be there. That their alone image should last in a statue in some place of the world rockero so that they surrendered him cult after a life of excesses. For if it was little, it still grabs the guitar as if it was a (other) woman and he bends over without difficulty until playing the floor. It is an explosion. A blow to the dictatorship of the time, of the years, with which demonstrates their survivor gifts to that time in the one that the rock one lived in a quick and brutal way. One doesn't believe the years that Charlie Watts has in the body until he lifts the eyes and you see it giving I last to the ramrods, as if it was a writer beat hitting the keys of an old typewriter. Charlie is a hieratic type. The life, for him, seems that alone it works if it is behind a battery. Their movements have practiced them until the minimum it details. Their execution is surrounded with a solemnity that doesn't interest him to break in any moment. Their master stands out above everything and its concentration is extreme. Charlie escapes from the protagonist. For example, the day before was noticed something surprised when a fan wanted to steal a picture to alone during a reception. Its attachment to the discretion is also perceived when Jagger presents it and he invites it to the front. Charlie throws the public the smile that corresponds in these cases and he returns quickly to the drummer so that the machinery doesn't stop. And he doesn't make it. It is more than evident that Ronnie, 68 years old, is another of those that he enjoys the night to the maximum. Almost as much as Jagger or Keith. Their show is mounted, it accompanies Jagger in its intrepidity and it shoots the riff with an absolute know-how The Rolling make the same show that they have presented in their Latin American tour. Everything works with an enormous accuracy. Of another planet. The repertoire is the same one with the one that have conquered to the region, but they know that what happens there below is very different to what has happened in the rest of the countries. Each song, each wild movement of the band, each expression, it bears the pleasure of the breaker, of who knows that he is opening a new world with songs that run him for the blood to the public for decades, but that now they charge a special connotation. It doesn't care if they are Brown Sugar, Sympathy for the Devil or It´s only rock and roll (but I like it). It doesn't care if the screens are giant or the show is something majestic that has never been seen in Cuba. The really significant thing is that there, on the grass, there is a legion of Cuban aware that the Rolling arrived on time to be
taken charge of them and to give them, in one night, the whole rock and roll that it had waited during so much time. Also, with this concert, the Stones was also liquidating a debt with their origins, when they had not sighted their potential in the business of the music and they made his the rock and roll like a wild music that it contained all the rebelliousness of a youth iconoclast and rebellious. It didn't rain, it didn't extend during more than 72 hours, but some included one ventured to assure that tonight Cuba had its own Festival of Woodstock saving the distances, clearing is. In the multitude, calculated in 1 300 000 people according to the team of the Stones, they had hippies, Cuban punks, rockers, young, tourists, parents with their children, and whole families with babies running on the grass. There were also Cuban, Argentinean, German, American flags, Mexicans, British‌ Jagger among point looked at the distance and it assured to the Cubans that were "in joke" while he thanked to the Island for the whole music that he has given to the world. Never in Havana had so much people been done with the loose language. That libidinous language that it saw the light for the first time in the CD Stickyfingers and that then it became the logo of the group, it left the same of the screens that of the T-shirts of the thousands of fans that they screamed from any corner of the Sport City. An a claim that it reached a frantic activity how-do Mick Jagger, after sharing scenario with the choir Entrevoces, of the teacher Worthy War, rushed: "are you ready" and all knew what came them above. The leader Stone, seconded by the in agreement hairnets of Keith, Satisfaction shot and it was listened a spine-chilling cry sound of thousands of souls immediately in full boil that they tried to lengthen this moment the most possible thing because they knew that he would surely never repeat in its lives AND Jagger, as old wolf that is, this classic extended during almost ten minutes so that his fans reached all the satisfaction that they will have looked for in a concert that was more than rock and roll.
Other celebrities accompanied to The Rolling Stones Cuba continues being place of attraction for the celebrities of the world of the show. In this case, in the historical concert in Havana of The Rolling Stones, they left it turns in the lands of the Sport City other celebrities like Richard Gere and Naomi Campbell.

Before the concert of The Rolling Stones: Cuba, a scenario for the rock and roll It hardly lack two days for the concert of the Rolling Stones and the fans of the band they arrive at the capital from all parts of the country and of the world. Street Preachers during their concert in Cuba. Foto: Tomada de www.express.co.uk It hardly lack two days for the concert of the Rolling Stones and the fans of the band they arrive at the capital from all parts of the country and of the world. The German Ulrich Schroeder is among the most celebrated followers in the British alignment that have traveled to the Island to be part of the history, who, adorned with top hat and black shirt with images of the Rolling Stones, it landed in the international airport José Martí. This veteran rocker, 66 years old, was founded in Luechow, in the south of Hamburgo, the first museum dedicated exclusively to Mick Jagger's band, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts. Although the Sport City will open the doors on Friday starting from 2:00 o'clock p.m. it is expected that the fans arrive from very early to the installation. Because, it is known, this show transcends the limits of a simple presentation and the assistants - mainly those that crossed the 50 year-old frontier - they know that being looked for a place in the Sport City will be able to modernize several decades in its affective memory, to put on a day with its heroes of the rock and roll and, with the time, they will have the privilege of saying “I was there." The Stones will show what is evident. In Cuba the rock and roll happens it has to followers' of all the generations thousands, so much in its more classic slope as in the most radical tendencies in the metal that it hit with an enormous force in the local underground. The Rolling will possibly gather a million people, but previously Havana has been witness of other big concerts of rock and roll that have also had British musicians as main characters. Manic Street Preachers arrived in Cuba in the 2001 to offer a concert in the theater Karl Marx. The band, with sharp guitars, a scenic projection linked to the
punk and letters of high political content, dispatched the topics of its CD Know your enemy. Among the titles that included that gapless Baby Elian was, with which it requested the return from Elian to Cuba when it was retained in the Florida. One year later, Asia Dub Foundation it lit the Rosy Living room of the Tropical one with its energetic reggae coalition, drum and bass, and rock and roll. The alignment, formed in England in 1993 for musicians of Asian origin, played it stops more than 5 000 people the topics of its CD Rafi's Revenge (1998) and Community Music (2000). It is still remembered in the underground the energy that it removed during its premiere in the capital. The band has even declared in even from opportunities to this editor its interest in repeating its periplus for Cuba. The history picks up the festival HavanaJam like the main established cultural dialogue between United States and Cuba after the victory of the Revolution. The appointment, taken place in 1979, gathered in the theater Karl Marx to stars as Billy Joel, Weather Report, Rita Coolidge, Kris Kristofferson, Stephen Stills, The Fania All Stars, and the Cuban Irakere, Pablo Milanés, Frank Emilio, Elena Burke, The Aragon, Tata Güines and Sara González, among others. The poster the English guitarist John McLaughlin also integrated it, one of the most influential musicians in the world of the electric guitar that was presented with the Trio of Doom, also formed by the bassoonist Jaco Pastorius and the drummer Tony Williams. The former keyboard player of Yes, Rick Wakeman, is another of the British musicians of rock that has gone by the local scenarios. The famous instrumentalist who N.E.R.E traveled with its project (New English Rock Ensemble) it offered two concerts in Havana where he surrendered honors to its step for Yes and to the work that has taken ahead after its exit of the acclaimed alignment of symphonic rock. Apart from the concerts of British bands, if we mention the most explosive shows in rock and roll that have been organized in the Island, the history it also remits us to the presentations of Audioslave (2005), Sepultura (2008) and The Dead Daisies (2015), a concert of which we have already spoken in other editions. Audioslave, formed by former members of Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden, played in Havana when they were in the crest of the wave of its career and it became the first American group in ascending outdoors to a scenario in Cuba. The alignment summoned to near 50 000 people in the Tribuna Antimperialista with a show with intendment in the one that seemed that the leader of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell and the musicians of Rage Against the Machine had been together a lifetime. Sepultura was not less. In principle some reticence’s existed in the rocker scene because the Brazilian band came to Cuba without two of their founders, Igor and Max Cavalera, but when vocalist Derrick Green left to “eat up” the Tribune there was not neither appears of rejection. The band went faithful to its legacy and they gave Sepultura to rockers thousands that claimed to voice in neck topics as Roots Bloody Roots and Territory.
The Rolling are a rock school and it is the band in more important asset that can ascend to any scenario of the world. They are hardly 48 hours for their first concert in the Island and the fans of the Stones already walks for the streets of Havana to be witness of a concert full with symbolism that will pass to the non alone history of the Rolling, but also of Cuba and of the rock and roll.
The Dead Daisies proud for concert of the Rolling Stones in Cuba The band offered two concerts in Havana in February of the 2015 in the Maxim Rock, headquarters of the Cuban Agency of Rock, and in Salon Rosado de la Tropical By: Michel Hernández (published in Granma newspaper March 22th)

The band offered two concerts in Havana in February of the 2015 in the Maxim Rock, headquarters of the Cuban Agency of Rock, and in the Salon Rosado de la Tropical, where they shared scenario with Beatrix López, David Blanco and Roberto Perdomo, among other musicians. "They were very healthy the collaborations with the Cuban musicians of rock. They are artists full with passion and talent. We liked a lot to record with them", Mendoza says. Singer Bernard Fowler and the bassoonist Darryl Jones, like it was said, they alternate their commitments with the Rolling Stones with the work in Dead Daisies. Both musicians assured in Havana that they would converse with Jagger and Keith Richards about their experiences in Cuba and they would encourage them to travel to the Island with the Rolling. "Bernard talked with them about the possibility of a presentation in Cuba and it was being organized the idea. We are very excited for the concert that it will offer the Rolling finally. They are very humble musicians and professionals. It will be an incredible moment for the Cubans that it will motivate the visit of other big groups", he comments. Born in 1963 in the city of California, the bassoonist assures that Dead Daisies hopes to return soon to Cuba next to other heavy weights of the rock like Kiss or Whitesnake. "We have been rotating with DefLeppard, Kiss and Whitnestake and we would like to go with them to Cuba. That idea is thinking it with force and we hope to sum up it before year end. DeffLeppard and Kiss always ask us what they have to make to play in Cuba", it indicates. During their visit the band recorded two topics of its second album published in the 2015 with the name Revolution. "The CD begins him to record in Cuba. They motivated us people's passion and their culture. There is no doubt that this disk was inspired by the trip to Cuba. On the other hand, we feel that the industry of the music is in a bad moment and we wanted to carry out our own revolution". The Dead Daisies has just finished the recording of its third album that should come out between August and September. "We have just recorded a new CD. It doesn't even have title but we have many songs. The truth is that Dead Daisies follows meeting like band because we have the intention of growing as artists and musicians. We will stay during a lot of time and to follow our playing music ahead and offering concerts in the entire world", Mendoza assures.
Who paid the “megashow” of the Rolling Stones in Havana? With a cost estimated in $7 million dollars and an assembly for which it was necessary to displace 62 containers, a Boeing 747 and 350 people, The Rolling Stones offered a magnify and splendid concert in Havana last Friday 25 of March. The costs of this concert were paid by the Fundashon Bob Intenshon, a beneficent organization resided in the island of Curazao, old Dutch Antilles created by the humanitarian Gregory Elías whose charitable works are developed mainly in the own island.
