With a sound that it remembers to the rock of the 70´s and 80´s The Dead Daisies have become the new sensation of these times. This super band was in our country in February of last year where they offered two unforgettable concerts. On the origins of this band, future plans and on a possible visit to our country, Marco Mendoza, bassoonist to the band, comments to us. By: Alejandro Pérez.

Greetings to the members of The Dead Daisies and be welcome to this magazine of Cuban rock. It is an enormous pleasure to be able to carry out this interview. First question. When and where arises The Dead Daisies? In the summer of the year 2013 David Lowy and Jon Steven invited me to that I listened a music that they were recording and perhaps I would be interested to participate in the called project The Dead Daisies, they sent me the music and it got me a lot the attention, we join from then on I am part of The Dead Daisies. Who are their current members and of where they proceed? The current members are: Jonh Corabi (vocal) – Motley Crue, Ratt, etc Brian Tichy (drums) – Foreigner, Billy Idol, Whitesnake, etc Doug Aldrige (guitar) – Whitesnake, Dio, etc David Lowy (guitar) – Red Phoenix, Mink, etc Marco Mendoza (bass y vocal) – Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, etc

How many CD do you have made now? How it was the edition process and production of the same ones? We try to record all live one, all at the same time and later to publish, to change arrangements and to make overdubs. We have 3 recordings: an EP "The Face I Love", an LP "Revolution" and the following one that it comes out in August or September. Some audiovisual production that accompanies to these discography productions? Several available videos en www.thedeaddaisies.com I have understood that these moments are making a new CD. Comment us something of the same one. The name? How many tracks it has? Do you keep the same style that up to now has characterized the previous CD? Yes, the same style, it will contain 10 tracks and we don't still have the name. I know that you have just registered for SPV Records, a German stamp belonging to the record label of Hanover. What advantages does it bring them having signed with this stamp? The simple one made that a company like SPV are interested, it means that we go for good road and also the promotion and the support is very important. As you know, recently The Rolling Stones offered a mega gratuitous concert here in Havana. How did you feel to the knowledge that The Rolling Stones went finally to play in Cuba? We gave ourselves the pleasure of taking place that perhaps we were part of the process somehow, to call to the rest of the musical community that the door was open and the invitation was on. Due to the concert offered here by The Rolling Stones many have been the rock bands that have shown interest in coming to play here. What opinion does it deserve them this? Do you think that it is already hour that our country becomes a destination more than the big bands that it want to come to play here? Yes, of course, the only thing that we can say is that the fans of Cuba and the Cuban community are very special and they deserve the visit of the big groups. Recently I read in internet that The Dead Daisies wants be presented in our country this year again. If it is this way, do you plan to carry out a tour for the country or to only be presented in Havana? Would you come alone or would you bring to other bands? We wanted to invite some friends, but we will wait if there is an opportunity to return soon‌.

In the 2015 you offered two concerts in Havana, becoming this way the first band that acted in Cuba after the reestablishment of the relationships between United States and Cuba. What did it motivate them to come to be presented in our country? What did it find the Cuban public that went to the two concerts that you offered here? The public and the reception were incredible; we will never forget the energy and the open arms. ! My Cuban people are brilliant! The 2015 were also a super year loaded for the band. Apart from you presentation here in Cuba, the band had an outstanding participation in diverse festivals where you shared scenario with bands like Kiss, Judas Priest, among others. What plans does The Dead Daisies have for this 2016? Good, it seems that we will rotate for all Europe, and also to go out of tour with Kiss another time… and we hope to return as soon as possible to Cuba… Well, thanks to The Dead Daisies for this magnificent opportunity of carrying out this interview. Before finishing something that you want to say to the Cuban public. ¡My Cuban people! We send it a Gigant Hugh and make sure that SEE each other SOON………. We love you!

From the Cuban scene

Congregation comes from the old grouping Trance (been founded in 1991) which participated in the 90's in many concerts and festivals, as Santa Clara's Festival Ciudad Metal and the rock sample in the Carlos Marx teather reaching maturity, musical experience and the public's acceptance. In 1999, after to fuse and to experience with several musical goods as the Hardcore, Alternative and Thrash Metal, the grouping radically changes to the gender Death Metal maintaining its musicians and passing to call himself: Congregation. Death Metal's new band has its first presentation in March of the year 2000 in María Patio; from then on it has achieved great acceptance for the public and the specialized critic, and at the present time it is one of the groupings of followed Metal in the country according to the critic. Congregation has participated in all the squares of festivals of the nation, and from its beginnings so far bill with more than 200 concerts. It has been nominated as better group of Rock Metal in the Cuerda Viva TV program, and it has participated in the three Festivals International Caimán Rock. It has also shared scenario with the best professional bands in the country (Zeus, Agonizer, Tendencia, Combat Noise, among other) Although it nominates it of the group it has stayed quite stable for the sense of ownership of their members, in the year 2007 after singer Lázaro Castro's sudden and painful death, they were carried out obligatory readjustments in her, being able to overcome this challenge successfully, preserving the spirit, the union, the force, the popularity and the objectives always. In this time a stage of technical evolution begins inside its own style, considered by the specialized critic as an own and original sound. All the members of "Congregation" are rigorous students of their respective instruments and technical, in the search of the excellence inside their style. In April of the year 2012 it is integrated to the band a new bassoonist ¨Dennis¨ occupying Iván's place which is forced to leave the group by personal problems. Biography

Sinergia is a rock band whose history is probably of the most curious and attractive in the Latin American rock. In spite of cultivating the alternative rock, their sticky songs, ludics and daily they have transformed it in one of the most popular groupings in Chile and respected in the Latin circuit. The band has been born for 20 years in Conchalí, Santiago from Chile, and it remains for many years playing in the marginal circuit of the punk rock and metal of the outlying neighborhoods of the city. There they are discovered in the year 1995 by the project government “Schools of Rock” and they are selected to record study material and to be advised artistically. To the eaves of Schools of Rock and his managing Andrés Godoy, the band develops his identity and it begins to create songs that speak of day-todayness, life in couple, social inequalities, happiness and misfortunes of a middle class Chilean. Aesthetically the band opted to assume its look and attitude nerd baptizing its style as “metal bird", makes allusion to the term "scatterbrained" that defines to the nerds in Chile. Raising the flag of the metal bird, Sinergis is able to publish its first disk homonym the year 2002 and after ten years of history, it achieves the miracle: it passes from the underground to be revelation of the national rock. Their success “Robust woman” reaches the number 1 in radios and MTV, the band is nominated as better new artist for the prizes MTV Latin-American, and songs like “Competition” and “Alternative love” they achieve high national repercussion and rotation in MTV. Far from considering the task like fulfilled, the band takes advantage of this new impulse and in next year’s it continues publishing disks and harvesting successes of unsuspected massive. In 2004 Sinergia it publishes " Process Everything" that with successes like “My lady and “All owe me silver” it consolidates their popularity and it opens the door to national tours that are reinforced with the EP from homage to the 80´s rock "Songs of when we were schoolboys” whose sails “Syndrome Cambodia” it reaches a new number 1 in MTV. In the year 2012 Sinergia publishes its most recent CD “Here nobody it should be poor”, taking place 20 years of history and assuming an asset support to the social movements for gratuitous education and of quality in the country. At the moment Sinergia is of national tour and after a successful presentation in the third summit of Chilean rock, it enlists its presentation in the scenario of Kidzapalooza, betting this time for a show of family court of which exists a special curiosity and expectation. Black Desert combines the aggressiveness of the metal through some guitars and a brutal battery, a rope section that you ready to desert melodies and dark, with white it influences ethnic-Arabic, and a potent and elegant feminine voice that transfers the listener from passages torn until lyrical. On their beginnings, future plans and other aspects it comments us Ángel Agüera, guitarist and founder of the band. By Alejandro Pérez.

Greetings to Black Desert members and be welcome to this Cuban rock magazine. It is a pleasure to be able to carry out this interview. To begin. Why Black Desert name? Some especially meaning? Thank you to "Metal for your Veins" for the interview and to be interested in Black Desert! It is a pleasure. Black Desert name wants to define that of the music type that we make: a dark, potent metal, with Arab reminiscences, a melodic metal with certain harmonies and oriental influence. It is a characteristic of Black Desert. When and where arises Black Desert? How are their actually members? Black Desert arose of Isabel's hand and mine (Ángel). we were playing several musical projects of different goods together, but never inside the metal and exchanging musical influences reach the conclusion that our illusion would be to make a metal project, so we begin to give form to the compositions that The Beginning, our first CD formed. Once with The Beginning in the street, and seeing the great welcome that had, decides to form the band with the one that to be able to present to Black Desert in direct, and it was as well as Claudio, Gaby, Pablo and Luisma passed to be part of Black Desert.

With the band already formed and the establishment that gives you the to make direct and to share together months of local, was arising the ideas to record a second disk, and it was this way like we take out The Road Is Open, which is overcoming the expectations as for critical positive of the means and answer of the fans. We are very happy. I had the opportunity to listen their CD The Road is Open and I tell you that you have a rhythm and very mystic melody. How do you define your music? It is an answer that we always find difficult to answer. We are 6 musicians with very different influences, and all are in more or smaller measure in our sound. We have elements of the symphonic metal, but I don't believe that we are a band 100 symphonic%. We have elements of the grossest metal styles, mainly at rhythmic level. We have influences and blinks to the progressive metal. As for the voices, there are moments that even come closer to goods like the jazz or the soul... we could Maybe classify ourselves as Melodic and Dark Metal, with arabesque influences. Up to now you have published two CD “The Beginning” and “The Road is Open". Comments us something about the productions of these two CD. It has some video that accompanies this last production? The truth is that they were two different processes completely. As I commented you, The Beginning was recorded people between two, and this second CD has been recorded by the whole band. The recording and production of The Beginning ran in charge of Dan Dies that was who it trusted us from the beginning, when we were only two friends with a dream. The Road Is Open, it was also recorded with Dan Dies, but the production was thing of Sander Gommans, guitarist and founder of After Forever. Of our second disk, we have taken out month ago and half approximately, our first videoclip, of the topic 64 Bones, in which Steffi García collaborates, of the band [In Mute]. I invite you to that see it in our nets and in youtube. It is being an entire success! Which the main influences of the group have been when composing their songs? As I tell you, we are 6 musicians with very different influences. As for groups that we like in Black Desert, it has fit bands so different as Rammstein, Nightwish, Dream Theater, Opeth, Lamb of God, After Forever... Each member could speak to you long and spread on his influences.

It is already common to see in the rock bands to a woman like vocalist and Black Desert it doesn't escape to this. To that believe that this tendency is owed to see more women like vocalist of a rock band? I believe that lately the metal has been liberated of that label that it had years ago of being music for men, for its forcefulness maybe... it is wonderful to see that those taboo has disappeared and that the metal is a gender without limitations for anybody. You come from Spain, a country that doesn't stop to surprise me, because every day new bands arise with an incredible, clear potential, we cannot leave behind bands like Mago de Oz , Barricada, Ă ngelus ApĂĄtrida, among other, which have had a successful career outside so much as inside the country. How do you see the scene of the rock in Spain today in day? The scene, at musical level, is at an incredible level. There is an impressive quantity of bands, with some disks and some direct ones brutal. In fact, in some weeks we plays us to go to Barcelona to play in the semifinal of the WACKEN METAL BATTLE, and soon after that we have discovered that the quantity of excellent bands that there is, is bestial. Then we have grateful bands at international level as those that you have named or others as Hamlet, Crisix or Berri Txarrak, besides our friends of Zenobia or Earth Santa that are of our same city. The topic of social support is different. The thing is complicated in Spain so that a metal band can come out ahead. It is very difficult, for example, taking your music beyond your region, no longer without making money, but without losing it, and it is this way very complicated to take out a project ahead. The musicians don't live off the air and we need to pay invoices, the same as all, and to day of today, it is impossible. Have you had the opportunity to participate at some time in some rock festival in you country or outside of this? With which bands have shared scenario? Because we have participated in some small festival as the "Ladies of Metal Fest" or the one" To Vueltas Rock", but they have not still given us the opportunity to participate in others with more means. We consider similar of important all, and we will be charmed of participating in those that call each other. As for leaving to play the foreigner, we are trying to close some date for Holland or Belgium, helping us of the direct contact that we have with Sander. As for bands, we have played with groups like Sinaia, Occitania, Divine Disturb, SanTelmo... and of course with our brothers Zenobia. They are several the magazines dedicated completely to the rock, some so famous ones as Metal Hammer, Rolling Stones and other not so famous. What opinion does it deserve them the paper that it play these magazines like form of promoting to the rock bands so much well-known as unknown? It is an important help to be given to know, and to bring near to the new bands to metaleros that it have not still known to the band. To enter in magazines as Metal Hammer, it is quite complicated and once you get it, the repercussion is brutal. On the other hand, the means with less resource make an important

work with beginner and less well-known well known groups. Black Desert owes to that type ty of means that it has always been supporting to the emergent bands a lot.

Future Plans? Right now we are closing the details of the concerts of presentation of The Road Is Open. I can tell you that March 12 was acting in the Sala Monasterio (Barcelona) inside the WACKEN METAL BATTLE. And on Saturday 19 of March we were presenting the CD in ourr house, in the Sala Hot Rock (Nรกjera, The Rioja). If you have the opportunity to come to Cuba some time, you will come? Of course!! We would be charmed of visiting their country. Although Black Desert letters are in English, in all the CD we put some sentence, refrain... in Castilian as sample of affection to our language mother and our SpanishSpanish speaking followers, and for us it would be a dream to Also visit the island, personally it is a country that I am attracted by very much. The musical culture that at has the Cuban town is spectacular. Well, before finishing, something that you want to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine. magazine The first thing, to be appreciated the interest again in Black Desert. It also wanted to thank all their readers the time dedicated to read this interview and I would like to invite them to visit our nets where will be able to listen our music, to see pictures, videotapes of direct, our videoclip... and to be informed of all our novelties. Also, those that want to acquire a copy of our CD, can make it from the web of our record label Yarhibol Records (http://yarhibolrecords.com/shop/categoria producto/artistas/blackdesert (http://yarhibolrecords.com/shop/categoria-producto/artistas/blackdesert /)) or directly from our email address or profile of Facebook. Silench Crew is a Spanish band, created in 2010 by the guitarist burgalés, Cholfo, the sound of the band comes from the roots Thrasehrs. Their first album "Have Tattooed Ways to Face Life", it possesses a musical style between the Thrash Metal and the BikerRock of letters positive, sharp guitars and a marked style guitar-maker. Songs with hook that soon become in hymns, Never Die", "Smile", "Superhero"…quickly ends up being listened in national and international radio radio stations (Japan, USES, England, Mexico, Italy…). On the beginnings of this band, future plans and other topics it counts us Cholfo, guitarist and director of the same one. By: Alejandro Pérez

First that an entire greeting and be welcome to these pages of Metal for your Veins. For me it is a pleasure to be able to carry out this interview. To begin. Why Silench Crew name? Some special meaning? Hello Alejandro, when I was a lad I always wanted to form a band that "Silence" called herself, since it made me grace the fact making music metals the group to call you “Silence ". the years Passed and when forming this new project it looked for name and a friend reminded me behind that of years, I was happened to change the "e” for the "h" and as all musician he needs more musicians, I added Crew, therefore this game of words arose and I can make sure that we are not anything silent jejeje. When and where does the band arise? Who are their current members? After several years working in projects guitar-makers and with other bands, the desires arise of making a new group with what is running me for the head, in the 2010 I decide to look for musicians to carry out it and I form a trio, after several changes in the formation, at the present time we are four, Guillermo to the

drummer, à ngel rhythmic guitar, David bass and voices and a servant, Cholfo that sings and it plays the guitar. How you define the music of Silench Crew? When being influenced by so much music and for so many styles inside the Rock a very particular style arises. For sure if you listen the disk and you go pointing in a notebook to that it remind you some riffs, they will come you in mind a heap of groups, but with a personal and different touch. I believe that it is unavoidable being influenced by something previous that although without wanting it leaves us in the things that we make. I suppose that to Robert Johnson it influenced him the regional songs, to Elvis Robert, to Hendrix Elvis, to Yngwie Elvis and Bach‌ it goes this way mixing everything until they leave new styles and a new recipe is made that it likes all. For all this, it is very difficult to classify our music and I believe that each one reached their own conclusions, Thrash Metal, Progressive Rock, and BikerRock that hateful they are the labels!!! Up to now you have fact the album "Ten Tattooed Ways to Face Life" How it was the edition process and recording of the same one? Do you have thought to take out another CD later on? After having a clear idea of the songs more or less we begin to record everything leaving an open door to make changes according to the march, since always it will sound fresher, we entered to the study and I took charge of the production, it mixes and masterization. I have the head full with ideas that it are asking to leave to the game field, that is to say that wait that along next year they are made reality, and this way to take advantage of the potential of the musicians that at the moment accompany me. Do you have the opportunity to participate at some time in some rock festival in your country or outside of this? Have you shared the scenario at some time with some international band? With this band the truth is that we have not had the occasion, also here in Spain the opportunities for the bands without fame are minimum or null and today in day almost all the places where you want to play it is necessary to pay unless you know somebody.

Individually we have enough trajectory and we have played with bands and varied artists, Eric Sardinas, Hamlet, Warcry, Red, Nuclear Baron Assault, Exodus‌ Future Plans? To continue enjoying the music giving cane!!! New CD. To discharge all our energy in the direct ones that we can to take people that makes. If you have the opportunity to come to Cuba some time, you will come? Of course that if, I also have very close a part of my roots, in Mexico. Well, before finishing, something that you want to say to the Cuban public and all the followers of this magazine. I hope you like our music; I am for sure it will play a key in your bowel. As it is said in our song “SMILE ", in the face of any adversity it smiles, and if we get that you pass a good while you listen to us, the objective will be fulfilled. God willing we can see each other soon, ROCK ON! An old representative of the record label of Guns N' Roses supposes that the problems began when the guitarist suffered an overdose. Tom Zutaut, representative of Geffen Records that gave a contract to Guns N' Roses, said in the documental "The Most Dangerous Band in The World" ' that the conflict between Slash and Axl Rose began when the guitarist had heroine's overdose and he lost the pulse during eight minutes. In this respect, according to Zutaut, the vocalist thought that the guitarist's body was taken by a different soul. This would have been the biggest obstacle to achieve the meeting among them. On the overdose that suffered, Slash commented that the drug salespersons had arrived at the hotel at 5 o'clock and the one consumed all that they had. Later on it left the room, it crossed a corridor and he fell inside the elevator. The musician said that, during an overdose, one lives kind of a scene in which all move very quickly and there are noises of radios. He also remembered that, in that opportunity, they took it to the hospital and when he felt well, he signed to retire, it returned to the hotel and he got ready for the next show. In 1989, during a series of concerts that they opened up for The Rolling Stones, Axl Rose had given him a warning on the consumption of drugs to its partners. He told them that, if they didn't stop to consume, he will retire of the band. January 27, in the official bill of Guns N' Roses in Twitter a comment was published to ridicule to those, as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and Andrew Dice Clay that assured to have helped to the reconciliation of the members of the band. On time, the twit “thanked” to who, although they were not in contact with Axl Rose, Duff and Slash during years, thanks to the power of the means, they contributed to the meeting. Steven Tyler had said in Howard Stern program that “one or two years ago” he had met with Axl Rose and he told him that he needed to join Guns N' Roses because, if he waited three or four years more, anybody would care the meeting. Tyler, as he commented, he told Rose the same thing that they told to him when it was distanced of guitarist Joe Perry.

Reviews Reviews Reviews Reviews Reviews By PMU Artist: Stoner CD: Stoner Qualification: 5 to 5 stars Stoner has been able to consolidate like one of the most important and creative bands in the panorama national metalero. Their music is difficult to classify because it is nurtured of diverse slopes metal and rock, such as: heavy metal, progressive metal, neoclassical metal, ballad rock and hard rock. As they can notice, their sonority is quite particular and that is something that allows him to be recognized at once. I don't have perseverance of another band that it walks for their creative path. The CD that I propose them contains all the influences that I mentioned previously and others that I will approach when it corresponds. I will begin highlighting that Tiago Felipe and company have deployed all their talent to offer an astonishing demonstration of virtuosity, creativity and refinement without paragon. This is music of high flight, capable for listeners not classified in the conventions of in the past. And to continue counting feats, it pleases me to say that Tiago Felipe is reaffirmed like a mind teacher of our musical panorama, because besides playing the guitar like Chris Impellitteri pupil, it is who governs the courses of everything. To add that he was in charge of again of the recording, the mixture and the masterization, achieving a quite professional sound. On this alone result I will comment that it is very difficult, even when it accompanies him certain experience and a sharpened hearing. Now I will highlight one of the distinctive characteristics of Stoner, and it is that it breaks up with old taboo that the rock and the metal should be made in English. To contribute the precise elements, I propose them a fragment of an interview that gave their representative Joel Martínez to the magazine digital Cuban Rock: "we are Cuban, it is our maternal language and it is in Cuba where we live, because we transmit a message to the Cuban public, because we believe it sounds well and because it is also a challenge to achieve that it is listened well, natural… AND if we look that they are not many the groups that make rock in Spanish, we have it like strength, something that also differentiates us." The CD possesses five topics, an attractive number keeping in mind that habitually that figure, but the band is surpassed attaching to the normative ones, it qualified him as a EP (extend play). by definition, an EP doesn't surpass the 28 minutes of duration and it is never below 10. All the topics are really interesting and next I will describe them one by one. “Crosscurrent” begins with an alone one from piano to the purest classic style, it stops then to open the way to the electric guitar and an entire avalanche riffs it seduces us immediately. The percussion is competent and in speedy occasions. There is good alone of guitar and executed masterfully, although sometimes so fleeting that we keep desires of more. It is also interesting as they print him a typical atmosphere of the symphonic metal between the 4:09 and 4:43 minutes approximately. The letter narrates the epic poem of those that venture in rafts with direction toward the neighbor of the north. The following

fragment exemplifies it: "thousands of souls that are not that were released by the sea, the same history an thousand times". Continues "Alma in solitude” with a structure that approaches to the progressive metal with melodic and quick ultra guitars, percussion of first and a very good vocal work. Here they add alone of keyboards and until the first floor it charges protagonist inside an atmosphere slowing down. And for the outcome, a superb one alone of guitar it subjects us to their grace. A topic musically complex, full with progressive influences, neoclassicists and symphonic that remembers me for instants to Adage and Kamelot. I clarify that in all moment Stoner maintains its stamp. It continues "Millions of Silences", a nostalgic ballad on the rupture of couple's relationship. IT makes a reflection on the errors made in the past. It has their values, but in my opinion it sings out of tune with the formula outlined previously. The most discreet topic in the whole CD, although I don't underrate that it likes a lot some. To conclude, “Without looking behind” it returns for the roads outlined to the beginning, good alone of guitar and an orchestral passage in symphonic key that grants him magnificence. An experimental topic where we cannot be ahead to what it will pass, rhythm changes and it structures very marked. Without doubts, it is interesting, but it doesn't move as both first. I want to highlight that the design of the cover hides behind its apparent simplicity an originality and a significant creativity. The same one represents a glass taken a bath by the violent waters of a storm. It contains the initials STR that Stoner means, in evident allusion to the name. This is a highly advisable CD as I mentioned to the beginning, so already get it. My favorite topics are "Crosscurrent" and “Alma in solitude" Track list and cover and back cover of the CD 1. Crosscurrent 2. Alma in solitude 3. Millions of Silences 4. Without looking behind
