AN ONLINE HUB FOR ALL THINGS SUB With over 300 franchises across Canada, the MR.SUB Resource Centre is an integral part of the communication between National Head Office and the individual franchisees. Each member of the MR.SUB team from Head Office to part time employees have their own unique login information so they will have access to what is relevant to their position in the company. TRAINING VIDEOS All training-related materials are available on the Resource Centre and can be updated easily as needed. Instructional videos can be watched online for all MR.SUB products, using the same model to train franchisees, managers, and employees. DOCUMENTS Documents are organized into categories such as Marketing, Finance, and Operations. Here, franchisees can get everything from best practices to downloadable local store marketing templates. SUBVIEWS Monthly franchisee communication newsletters are posted on the Resource Centre to give updates on new products, upcoming promotions, procedural changes, and any other issues that might come up. The Subviews are archived on the Resource Centre, allowing franchisees to refer back to them as needed.

THE STORY MR.SUB is an iconic Quick Service restaurant with 400 locations across Canada, in a category dominated by a brand Goliath. Our mission was to fortify the brand loyalty of older consumers, but moreover to appeal to the all-important 18-35 demographic. So we hit the books. And the deeper we dug, the more we were able to isolate MR.SUB’s one irrefutable – and highly emotional – brand advantage: Canadiana. MR.SUB, we learned, is not only Canada’s first Sub chain: it’s Canada’s first fast-food franchise of any kind. Playing on the powerful emotion of ‘heritage’, we designed this campaign harkening to another great Canadian icon: Hinterland Who’s Who. The playful tone and the distinctly Canadian imagery shapes the MR.SUB brand personality as smart, funny, approachable, and above all, Canadian.
