The tug mate involved in the deadly duck boat crash a year ago was criminally charged in connection with the incident on Thursday and will plead guilty, federal prosecutors said. Matthew R. Devlin, 35, of Catskill, N.Y., was piloting the M/V Caribbean Sea on July 7, 2010, as it towed a 250-foot barge on the Delaware River and crushed a stalled Ride the Ducks vessel with 35 passengers, killing Hungarian students Szabolcs Prem, 20, and Dora Schwendtner, 16. Devlin is charged with misconduct of a ship operator causing death. He has signed a plea agreement that will force him to permanently give up his Coast Guard-issued maritime license. In exchange

Prosecutors said Devlin was talking to family members on his personal cell phone and using a company-owned laptop computer for about 30 minutes leading up to the crash and during the crash. The activ-

KENSINGTON. Police are investigating Thursday’s deadly shooting of a 4-yearold boy inside a home. Around 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 600 block of East Clementine Street, where the boy had been shot once in the head. He was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children where he was declared dead. Authorities have not released details about how the shooting occurred. METRO/SDL

The Federal Bureau of Investigation will investigate allegations that Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. tried to hack into the phone records of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, the agency said on Thursday. “We’re looking into allegations raised by the letter by Peter King yesterday,” said an FBI source, asking not to be identified. News Corp declined to comment on the FBI probe. They’ve already bet way too much. Like a guy who has put the rent money onto the table, they have reached a point where they don’t feel like they can back down. Because not only would that cost the losing party a lot of chips, it could also make it very hard for them to pull off of any kind of bluff in D.C. for a long time.

While Watson gave a tearful speech at the final film’s premiere in London last week, as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” gets released, the actress is also eagerly awaiting her post-Potter life — even if she and Hermione have basically become the same person.

What was your last scene as Hermione?

The last shot we did was this strange moment where we dive into the fireplace in the Ministry of Magic. It was actually for Part 1, not

“Winnie the Pooh” is truly refreshing in a summer dominated by overdone, overhyped, specialeffects-mangled blockbusters. There’s a difference between something classic and just another remake. This “Pooh” is the pitch-perfect example of a new classic. It’s pure, yet entertaining for any age. It’s every bit as traditional and innocent as the “Winnie the Pooh” cartoons and books you knew as a kid. At a little over an hour, this is the perfect film to take your favorite little squirt and initiate a new generation.

Now that this series has ended, do you have a favorite out of the lot?

How is fame treating you these days?

It became easier to handle once I accepted it. I feel fortunate in that I’ve never really known what it’s like to have total freedom and anonymity. It’s not as though I had it and then all of a sudden it got taken away from me. It’s something that I grew up knowing. The characters in “Harry Potter” endure so many tests of their bravery. Have you had an experience like that in your own life?

Premise: Every year, one boy and one girl must fight to the death in a televised event, brought to you by the Capitol, the evil government in charge of the land of Panem (formerly known as North America, preapocalypse). Suzanne Collins’ young adult best-seller, from the same publisher as “Potter,” is the first in a trilogy.

‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ Premise: Inspired by “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the plot finds our heroine cast out by a wicked witch and ordered to die at the hands of a hunter. It’s the first of a planned series.

The movies: “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart leaves one franchise for another, playing a tough version of Snow White. But we’re more into the dwarves: Eddie Izzard and Bob Hoskins are among the seven.

Chances of taking oﬀ: Fair. We love the cast, and it opens a few months before another Snow White project (starring Julia Roberts), but do young audiences care about classic fairy tales? Ask the producers of the box-office bomb “Red Riding Hood.” Release date: June 1, 2012

Rick Riordan’s series, started in 2005, has five books so far. The movies: The first — subtitled “The Lightning Thief” and directed by “Potter” vet Chris Columbus — was

released last year. The second — subtitled “The Sea of Monsters” — sends our hero on a nautical mission and is in the planning stages. Chances of taking oﬀ: Define “taking off.” Despite a lack of buzz, the first film made more than $200 million worldwide. Last month, the studio locked down star Logan Lerman and hired a director for part two. Release date: Not announced yet.

‘The Hobbit’ Premise: Written by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1937, this prequel to “Lord of the Rings” finds a young Bilbo Baggins battling orcs and spiders to save a kingdom. He also encounters some precious old friends. The movies: Director Peter Jackson is back. Ian McKellan is back. Orlando Bloom is back. Gollum is back. This is (a reported) $500 million well spent. There’ll be two films: “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again.” Chances of taking oﬀ: The Blood of Numenor is all but spent. But these movies will be massive successes. Release dates: “An Unexpected Journey”: Dec. 14, 2012; “There and Back Again”: Dec. 13, 2013.

ince Neil is not a man of many words. This isn’t surprising, considering that most of the words he sings with Motley Crue were written by Nikki Sixx anyway. We spoke with Neil from his tour bus in Tampa.

I’ve read that you guys have something called a drum roller coaster on this tour. How has that been working?

Oh it’s great. I mean, people are loving it. When you’re rehearsing for the tour, at what point does something like a drum roller coaster come into the picture?

At the very end. ... Our very first U.S. show was Dallas, so we set up in the place where we were playing for

like three days, then rehearsed the new set. We did pyro, the roller coaster and then everything else. On this tour, you let fans select the set lists. Any surprises?

No. I mean, a lot of the songs we knew were gonna be on there, obviously like “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Wild Side” and “[Dr.] Feelgood” and “Home Sweet Home.” ... But some of them, like “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” was a big fan favorite. We hadn’t played that in a long time. And then “Too Young To Fall In Love,” which we hadn’t

played in like 20 years. Is that because you reached an age where you weren’t too young to fall in love?

Well, that song was written 25 years ago. [Laughs] It’s just a song, man. Nikki wrote a lot of the songs. When you sing those words after all these years, do you get something new out of it?

Well, no. I mean, I’m per-

forming. I’m not acting out those words. Has life on the road slowed down over the years, or is it still like the Crue bio, “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band”?

Well, we were a young band. We’ve been together for 30 years now, you know. You don’t do those things. We’re not drug addicts like

Miranda Kerr named her and Orlando Bloom’s son in part after a deceased ex-boyfriend, she tells the Daily Telegraph. One of baby Flynn’s middle names, Christopher, was chosen in honor of Kerr’s first boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook, who died in a car accident as a teenager. “Chris and I had been dating for two years,” she says. “After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way. Vance Worley was aware of that core when he was called up in April, but the guy he really wanted to pal around with was Joe Blanton. In 2004, when Worley was a high school senior in Sacramento, Calif., he would watch Oakland’s Triple-A affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats. Blanton was a hot prospect, going 11-8 and making the big club the following season. “I was out there in the stands watching Joe,” Worley said. “I was a fan.” Worley, 23, who was drafted in June 2008 in the third round of the amateur draft, noticed that the Phillies traded for Blanton the following month. “I thought that was cool that they added Joe,” Worley said. “He’s such a good pitcher.” The Mohawk-sporting

Worley and Blanton are both big right-handers, each one about 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds. But the differences are that Blanton is seven years older and on the DL. The opportunistic Worley jumped into the starting rotation in May, due to Blanton’s elbow injury. “I’ve been trying to make the most of my chance,” Worley said. “I love being up here.” Even when Blanton returns, expect Worley to stick around due to Roy Oswalt’s back injury. And why not? Worley has impressed in eight starts with a 4-1 record and a 2.20 ERA. He’ll ring in the second half of the season with a start Friday night. “I love what’s happening,” Worley said. “It’s great pitching on a staff like this. It’s been awesome. Instead, he must try out in training camp and hope to earn a contract. “The NBA is my dream,” said Allen, who plans on leaving for France in late August, “so if the opportunity comes, and the lockout ends, I will opt out.”

Allen said his biggest fear about playing in France is the language barrier. But he is mostly looking forward to “being in a new country” and “competing against other professionals.” Allen is mildly upset the lockout has affected his plans, but he is still happy that he’ll be playing pro basketball. “It does kind of stink a
