Marcus Rolon, 22, pictured, and Carlos Rodriguez, 39, are charged with possession with the intent to distribute, conspiracy and weapons offenses.

Bail was set at $2 million for Rolon and $1.5 million for Rodriguez.

Revel may rethink smoking ban NEW JERSEY. The management team at Atlantic City’s embattled Revel hotel and casino has privately told investors that the resort is reconsidering its smoking ban in the face of ongoing money troubles, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The casino may allow customers to light up on parts of the floor, among them a new gaming area still being planned.

Revel, which has focused on generating more revenue from its restaurants and rooms than from gaming itself, has suffered a series of financial blows since its opening two years ago and is now seeking to reorient itself among its many competitors in the gambling town.

After personnel with the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House served over 100 hours assisting the American Red Cross with Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, the organization yesterday announced the formation of veteran and volunteer action “away teams” that will aid first responders in other regions facing emergency situations. “This is part of our effort to keep serving our country and community in and out of uniform,” manager David Kamioner said in a statement. “Given our success with the Red Cross during Hurricane Sandy Ops, we hope our supporters will now join us in similar missions to aid their neighbors in times of crisis.”

In a world seemingly dominated by crowdsourced reviews on sites like Angie’s List, one local man has created a forum where business owners can turn the tables on armchair critics.

Nastyclient.com, the brainchild of Feasterville’s Matt Stachel, bills itself as “the anti-Yelp.” The site allows business owners to file reports against customers who have stiffed them, stolen from them or otherwise cheated them.

“The straw that broke the camel’s back wasn’t one particular story of mine,” Stachel said yesterday. “It was more the frustration of always seeing the other side of the story being told. You always see on the news ‘another deadbeat contractor takes a deposit from a homeowner and doesn’t do any work.’

has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly kicking a state trooper in the head after being arrested for ramming two cars, according to a report from The Patriot-News.

Christopher Witkowski, 28, reportedly slammed his car into two vehicles in Lebanon County around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Police said Witkowski fled the scene, then crashed his car again a short time later. Believing Witkowski was under the influence, accident responders took him to Good Samaritan Hospital for chemical testing, according to the report. Bart Blatstein will today be joined by city officials and civic leaders for a ribboncutting ceremony opening Tower Place, a new upscale apartment complex at what was once the State Office Building on Broad Street near Spring Garden Street. Blatstein also hopes to develop the former home of The Philadelphia Inquirer into the Provence, a $700 million casino and resort. Blatstein must first gain the one casino license currently up for grabs in the state. Four other organizations have also applied to the gaming board for the license.

An ‘LA Rebellion’ on Philly screens New series at International House examines work of 1960s African-American filmmakers With screenings of three diverse and fascinating films on Saturday, International House kicked off its monthlong series called “L.A. Rebellion: Creating a New Black Cinema.”

With nine more programs planned over the next several Saturdays (and one Wednesday), “L.A. Rebellion” is one of the largest series undertaken

The films were all recently restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive as part of the multi-institution “Pacific Standard Time” exhibition.

L.A. Rebellion refers to a loosely affiliated group of African-American filmmakers who entered UCLA’s film program in the late 1960s and created an independent cinematic alternative to the prevailing Hollywood depiction of black culture at the time.

“It’s a diverse group of filmmakers and films,” Pires says of the series, which includes filmmakers like Julie Dash, Charles Burnett and Larry Clark. “I think that the general spirit of the L.A. Rebellion was to counteract the dominant themes of Hollywood cinema. They looked at other movements in cinema like Italian neo-realism as well as bringing in this general spirit of ’60s radicalism.”

Bus transportation was again the fastest-growing form of U.S. intercity travel last year, with scheduled departures up 7.5 percent, the most in four years, according to a DePaul University study released yesterday.

Between 1980 and 2006, the industry declined an average of 2.9 percent a year. Since then, it’s grown between 5.1 percent and 9.8 percent a year.

Mortgage lenders pay up A group of 10 mortgage servicers agreed on Monday to pay a total of $8.5 billion to end a U.S. government-mandated case-by-case review of housing crisis foreclosures in an acknowledgement the program had proven too cumbersome and expensive.

Bank of America Corp. on Monday entered an $11.6 billion settlement to end Fannie Mae’s claims that the bank improperly sold it mortgages that later soured, and to resolve problems with foreclosures, the companies said.

The agreement largely covers the $11.2 billion of claims that governmentowned finance company Fannie Mae had against the bank, which represented about 44 percent of the bank’s total pending claims at the end of the third quarter.

Bank of America, which bought Countrywide in 2008, still needs court approval for an $8.5 billion settlement with private investors and is locked in litigation with insurer MBIA

Why settle?

The settlement is a major step for Bank of America toward resolving claims from investors who want the bank to buy back loans that its Countrywide Financial subsidiary sold to them during the housing boom, many of which later went bad.

Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 asanas performed at 105 degree heat and has wonderful therapeutic benefits. Bikram the man is a petty controlling hatha yoga master who designed the series. He lives in Beverly Hills surrounded by expensive cars, true believers and his own ever-increasing loneliness — which is, of course, why the book is such an interesting read.

I’m not sure if this is “crazy” exactly, but watching just how well the guru, Bikram Choudhury, appeared to fit the profile of Narcissistic Personality Disorder raised my eyebrows the most. And this in a world where my eyebrows were constantly being elevated — be it from the people running out of the room to vomit, sobbing into their palms after a shattering class or telling the most amazing stories of how they used the yoga

to transform their lives and heal. The guru's personality — on throne, surrounded by acolytes, babbling away at lecture, and yet, achingly brittle, often sad, always needy — never failed to surprise me. He would say things about how he could withstand any amount of physical pain, but “put me in a room by myself and I will kill myself.” Fascinating.

Obama: The way to world peace What is the best way to achieve world peace? With President Obama’s inaugural ceremony right around the corner, scholars will propose what the president should do, indirectly answering the question above. As a Muslim-American, I want to first congratulate the president on his reelection and pray that he will lead the nation effectively during his second term. I think that the President has — domestically — done a good job. Among many things, he has had a congenial attitude towards Islam. Even though he has been called a Muslim, he has never portrayed Islam negatively. However, I wish the president applied the same level of fairness abroad. Eagles chatter Reid provides one final insult to Eagles fans In the end, Andy Reid didn’t even bother to say goodbye. After 14 years of pretending he cared about Philadelphia, the former coach called off his parting news conference last week and launched his four-day campaign for another job.

It was one final middle finger to a city that supported his team with their money and their hearts.

When he resurfaced in Kansas City, lucrative new contract in hand, he had the audacity to praise the Eagles and their fans during his introductory news conference yesterday —

1,128 miles away. He called Philadelphia “tremendous” and then held a conference call with the local media.

Sorry, Andy. Far too little, far too late.

People who believe Reid gave everything required of a head coach during his 14-year run here have very low standards.

Given the choice between honesty and blind allegiance to his players, Reid always chose the latter. That really wasn’t the problem. No, the problem

irst, the owner gushed his way through an embarrassing news conference that seemed more like an induction ceremony for Reid than a firing, and then the real trouble began. Flanked by his clueless GM Howie Roseman, Lurie embarked on a coaching search that is confirming our worst fears.

If fans were put off by Lurie’s geewhiz style, can you imagine the reaction of a coaching candidate after hours and hours of his mindless prattle? Lurie’s top two choices, Bill O’Brien of Penn State and Chip Kelly of Oregon, decided to stay in college after marathon sessions with the owner. What a surprise.

Kelly’s decision was especially revealing, since he had Lurie and his former best pal, Joe Banner, in a bidding war for his totally unproven NFL services. After a combined 16 hours of talks with Lurie, Roseman and Banner — representing his new team, Cleveland — Kelly walked away from at least $25 million.

Although the Eagles will never admit it, the loss of Kelly was a major blow.

Just go back to Lurie’s original description of his ideal coach: “I’m looking for someone that’s innovative. Somebody that is not afraid to take risks.” No one filled those mandates better than Kelly.

Need an example of a coach who does both? How about a man who worked for Reid, John Harbaugh?

He answers questions without lapsing into mantras like “gotta do a better job” and “take full responsibility.” Harbaugh respects the people paying his salary.

Reid never did.

Reid’s final snub was especially revealing because it represented his one true opportunity to communicate honestly with the fans.

Even a dolt like Rich Kotite attended his goodbye news conference, and Ray Rhodes took calls on his radio show the day he was fired. Unlike Reid, Rhodes knew he would never get another head coaching job, and still he showed up.

Even worse, the misfire proved that the Eagles lack someone with football gravitas, someone who can speak the special language of the game — and someone who would make a five-year contract seem like a great opportunity, not a prison sentence.

The first time Lurie conducted a coaching search was 1995, when his top choice was Dick Vermeil, a Philly icon pondering a return after a 12-year hiatus. Vermeil rejected the offer because he was worried about the lack of football experience in the front office.

Eighteen years later, nothing’s changed.

So the big question is, who will look past Lurie’s shortcomings? Mike McCoy seems like the most promising choice, if for no other reason than what he could do to develop Nick Foles into a top QB. Bruce Arians is the most interesting name, because of his Temple connection and his exceptional work in Indianapolis.

Sadly, it is becoming clear that the Eagles will need more than a new coach.

They will need a miracle worker who can overcome not just the 31 other NFL teams, but also the court jester looking down from his ivory tower, Jeff Lurie.

NHL chatter Bettman needs to leave hockey The NHL will return after the most ridiculous lockout in history. Faced with a crisis entirely of his own making, Commissioner Gary Bettman finally released the hostages Sunday morning.

If you’re waiting for some expression of joy, sorry. I am thrilled for the incredibly loyal hockey fans of our city – less than 200 cancelled season tickets — but my celebration will begin only when Bettman leaves the sport.

The most amazing part of this four-month shutdown is how few people thought it was a good idea. Players made major concessions, a majority of

owners were ready to sign on the dotted line before the leaves turned color and fans were starved for their favorite pastime. There was no philosophical dispute. It was all about money.

Bettman got owners to agree that all he needed to impose his will was eight votes. The small-market clubs formed a bloc behind Bettman and did whatever he told them to do.

The best news is that the deal is for 10 years. Bettman will be 70 — too old for the worst despot in sports to shut down the NHL for a fourth time? We can hope.

Chip Kelly will not be the one to succeed Andy Reid after the coach decided to return for his fifth season at the University of Oregon. Kelly, who was the Eagles’ top candidate, has turned down NFL offers in each of the past two offseasons.

Reid spoke glowingly of both his new employer and his old one. He had no regrets on his 14-year tenure in Philadelphia, reiterating several times that change can be a very positive thing. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Sometimes change is good,â&#x20AC;? said Reid. â&#x20AC;&#x153;It could be tremendous for the Philadelphia Eagles, and at the same time, I think itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s going to be tremendous for the Kansas City Chiefs.â&#x20AC;?

Historic uses of the Site include trunk manufacturing, tailoring, sheet metal works, lithography, masonry resurfacing, printing, and foam cushion manufacturing.

Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons and Volatile Organic compounds were detected in soil and groundwater samples collected from the Site, respectively. The remediator intends to participate in the Pennsylvania’s Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2) Program and demonstrate attainment of PADEP Site-Specific Standards by elimination of exposure pathways through engineering controls, and collection of quarterly groundwater attainment date. Act 2 also provides that when a site is being remediated to a Site-Specific Standard, the municipality is afforded a 30-day comment period.

Until February 8, 2013, the City of Philadelphia may request to be involved in the development of the remediation and reuse plans for the site, and to develop and implement a public involvement plan. Copies of these requests and any other comments should also be submitted to the PADEP, Southeast Regional Office, Land Recycling/Cleanup Division, 2 East Main Street, Norristown, Pennsylvania 19401.
