Report: MBTA driver in overpass crash on phone Obstruction of justice. A T bus driver is accused of being uncooperative.

The MBTA driver who was behind the wheel of a bus that crashed on a Newton overpass Sunday causing the vehicle to hang ominously over the Massachusetts Turnpike is accused of driving dangerously and not cooperating with investigators.

Transit Police obtained a complaint in Newton District Court on Monday charging the unnamed bus operator with obstruction of justice, and she was cited for operating to endanger, speeding and impeded operation, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said.

An arraignment date has been set for May 27, Pesaturo said. It wasn’t immediately clear how the driver allegedly obstructed justice.

The Boston Globe reported that investigators are probing

whether the driver used a cellphone before the crash. When asked about that report, Pesaturo said “investigators are looking into all possibilities.”

The Route 57 bus crashed at about 7:35 a.m. Sunday, colliding with a guardrail and slamming into chain-link fencing, leaving it partially hanging over the I-90 turnpike.

Of the 10 people onboard, eight were injured during the crash, including the driver.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

An MBTA official who was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation told the Globe that the 43-yearold female driver had a cell phone with her while operating the bus, which violates the T’s zero-tolerance policy.

The T prohibits “possession or use of cell phones [and other electronic devices] by bus, subway and trolley operators.”

Body found in Charles River A man’s body was recovered from the Charles River on Sunday and authorities are trying to identify the man.

The adult body was found in the area of the Community Boating boathouse, not far from the Longfellow Bridge.

The man, who was in his 20s, was not carrying identification. Detectives were working to identify him and contacted local universities, the district attorney’s office said.

DA: Children’s Museum worker had child porn In court. The longtime employee pleaded not guilty to the charges and is not accused of having any contact with any children.

A longtime employee of the Boston Children’s Museum was arrested on child pornography charges after he allegedly left a thumb drive containing illicit images in a co-worker’s car.

Paul Fest, 43, of Boston, pleaded not guilty to possession of child pornography, according to the Suffolk district attorney’s office. He was arraigned on Friday and released on his own recognizance.

An employee of the museum went to police last month after she found an unfamiliar thumb drive in her car, plugged it into her computer

and found images of child pornography. The employee told police she let some coworkers use her car for errands and did not know who the thumb drive belonged to.

During an investigation, authorities received permission from Fest to search his home computer and discovered that it also contained images of child pornography, according to the district attorney’s office.

Fest is not accused of any offense involving contact with any child at the museum or elsewhere.

The museum called the allegations “deeply disturbing� and said in a statement that after officials learned of Fest’s arrest, they terminated his employment. Fest worked as a facilities coordinator, working on the setup and breakdown of various museum events. “The single most important priority of Boston Children’s Museum is the safety

Police seek suspects after violent attack upon Brighton man Beating. Police said the man’s injuries were life-threatening A man suffered life-threatening injuries after a violent attack in Brighton over the weekend and police are asking the public’s help to find the suspects.

Police were called to the area of 1350 Commonwealth Ave. just after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday for a report of an assault.

When officers arrived they spoke to the victim’s friend who said two men jumped and attacked the victim.

The man suffered head trauma and was taken to Brigham & Women’s Hospital where his condition worsened.

His injuries are now believed to be life threatening, Boston police said.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the assault or who may have information about it to contact them at 617343-4470 or text “tip” to 27463 (crime).

Back in business. Keytar Bear spotted playing at Harvard Square T station The elusive and beloved local street performer known as Keytar Bear was reportedly spotted jamming out at the Harvard Square MBTA station Monday morning after a brief hiatus.

“Keytar Bear sighting on the Red Line this morning,” Jean Powers wrote on a We Love Keytar Bear Facebook page around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Trevor Stricker praised the beat-loving bear’s return, saying, “Saw you on the platform this morning in Harvard Square. You rocked out. We Are Family. Keytar Bear = Amaze.”

Fund-raisers were recently set up to support the musical bear after he allegedly fell victim to two attacks during his performances.

A U.S. grand jury has indicted five Chinese military officers on charges of hacking American companies and stealing trade secrets, the toughest action taken by Washington so far to address cyber spying

by China.

China denied the charges, saying they were “made up” and would damage trust

Dropout made bomb threats A college dropout was arrested Sunday night after admitting to calling in two bomb threats to keep her family from learning she had quit Quinnipiac University, police said on Monday.

Danielle Shea, 22, of Quincy, Massachusetts, made the threats after arriving at the graduation ceremony in a cap and gown with her mother,

who did not know she actually had dropped out. She “panicked” when relatives noticed her name was not on the list of graduates, police said.

Shea called in two bomb threats to the Quinnipiac University library so the ceremony would be canceled, police said. Instead the Sunday evening ceremony was delayed 90 minutes and moved a mile to a different campus of the university in the town of Hamden.

Webster. Dictionary adds words ‘selfie,’ ‘hashtag,’ ‘tweep’ and ‘catfish’ “Selfie,” “tweep” and “turducken” were among more than 150 new words and definitions added to the 2014 updated Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, the publishing company said on Monday.

The additions to the U.S. dictionary reflect the growing influence of technology and social networking, the company said.

“So many of these new words show the impact of online connectivity to our lives and livelihoods,” Peter Sokolowski, an editor for Merriam-Webster said in a statement. “Tweep, selfie and hashtag refer to the ways we communicate and share as individuals. Words such as crowdfunding, gamification and big data show that the Internet has changed business in profound ways.”

Singing their way to the top Interview. “The Voice” finalists share their journeys to the singing competition’s big finale.

The heat is on as “The Voice” comes to a close. We caught up with the last artists standing as they prepared to sing their hearts out for the competition’s finale.

Pop singer Christina Grimmie, 21, left her hometown in South Jersey to follow her dream in Los Angeles. She began her music career on YouTube and has more than 2 million subscribers. After getting all four chairs to turn, she joined Team Adam.

“I have been busier than ever before, and my memory has gotten a lot better, too, because we have to memorize a song a week,” Grimmie tells us. “[But] the biggest challenge for me is being away from my family. We got to go home for a week after the Blinds, but now we stay here to work on the show.”

Josh Kaufman, the family man from Indianapolis, supported his wife and three kids as an SAT prep tutor and musician playing local gigs. The soul singer got all four chairs to turn in the Blinds and originally went with Team Adam, but was later stolen by Usher.

Kaufman hopes that winning will allow him to support his family as a full-time musician.

WIN OR LOSE IN LOTTERY, CELTICS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE That little break from basketball wasn’t that bad, was it?

On June 27, 2013, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge waived the white flag on the 2013-14 season when he traded away two of the franchise’s greats in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. But a mere 327 days after the blockbuster was first announced, the Celtics are once again the envy of the basketball world.

It may be strange to say, but no team outside of the Thunder — who should have Kevin Durant for the next 12 years or so — and maybe the Pelicans — who should have Anthony Davis for about the next 15 years — have brighter futures at this particular hour than the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics have a whopping nine potential firstround picks, including their own, to utilize over the next five years. For sure, some of those picks will be traded away for talent.
