Pork-smearing woman missing A 24-year-old Ashland woman who was caught on surveillance camera hurling bacon at the Framingham police station and saying, “It’s time to feed the pigs,” is now missing, CBS Boston reports. Lindsey McNamara was last seen at P.F. Chang’s in Natick on Saturday night with a man and woman unknown to her family, her sister said in a Facebook post. Police arrested McNamara in December after she allegedly took raw bacon and sausage out of a Dunkin’ Donuts box and rubbed it on the police dispatch window. A judge last week dismissed malicious destruction of property charges against McNamara. METRO

Mob case

Bulger’s girlfriend won’t cooperate Catherine Greig, the longtime girlfriend of convicted Boston mob boss James “Whitey Bulger,” is reportedly refusing to help investigators locate her former lover’s hidden assets, The Boston Globe reports. Greig, 63, is serving an eight-year sentence for helping Bulger remain in hiding for more than 16 years, and is now declining to testify before a federal grand jury in Boston about Bulger’s assets. The alleged stunt could mean more jail time for Greig, who was reportedly offered immunity if she testified. METRO Roslindale

Roslindale plow hits resident A snow plow reportedly struck a pedestrian at the corner of Corinth and Cohasset streets in the Roslindale neighborhood Monday afternoon, The Boston Globe reported, citing police officials. Boston. Prepare for a full month of chaos, as public transit remains snarled by snow. It’s no joke: The T won’t be returning to regular service for another 30 days. As Boston reeled with another snow hangover Monday — a dark, desolate state of mind brought on by nearly 8 feet of snow in the past three weeks — outgoing MBTA chief Beverly Scott heaped more bad news onto the already towering pile. The recent stretch of bad weather has wreaked so much havoc on the T’s aging equipment and infrastructure, stalling trains and burying tracks, that the agency won’t be able to restore full service to trains, subways, trams and buses for another month. “As long as we don’t get hit with another storm like the

last one, it will be back in 30 days,” Scott said at a news conference late Monday. “This last round really crippled our infrastructure and our vehicle fleet,” said Scott, who last week turned in her resignation. “It created operational challenges and created severe damage which will take time to recover from.” Scott plans to stick around until April. Meanwhile, Mayor Marty Walsh reminded beleaguered Bostonians to behave, and be patient, after videos of locals BASE jumping into giant snow drifts appeared on the Internet. “This isn’t Loon Mountain, this is the city of Boston,” Walsh said Monday morning After the scolding, he made nice: “I have been struck by how Bostonians have pulled together through the storms. They are bringing out the best in our city,” he said. One man died of a heart attack while shoveling, he said, in Boston’s first snow-

exhaustion death this winter. A total of 16 inches of snow fell in the most recent storm, that ended on Monday, covering the city in 7.5 feet since January 23. Boston is closing in on the most snow for a season in recorded history — 107 inches. February is also now the snowiest February on record, with 58.5 inches. A Boston parking ban will remain in effect until further notice, and some city center streets have been turned into one-way thoroughfares to ease traffic. Arctic temperatures and a bitter wind chill were expected into early Tuesday, with — wait for it — 3 to 4 inches more snow Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Walsh said. Flurries may also arrive Wednesday, and, in case you haven’t had enough, another storm is approaching for the weekend. MORGAN ROUSSEAU and DANNY MCDONALD morgan.rousseau@metro.us

Southie tires slashed over saved spots At least two cars in the South End have had their tires slashed in disputes over shoveled-out parking spaces, with whisperings of a third, The Boston Globe reports. The neighborhood is the first to formally ban the practice of reserving shoveled parking spots with common and sometimes comical household items. One of the vandalism victims, Boston school teacher Chris Busch, told the Globe he had three of his tires slashed after parking in a space he had not shoveled, when his own spot was taken. Edelman tops list of Boston’s 50 most fashionable The beard rules. Julian Edelman and Taylor Schilling are city’s top fashion influencers.

Julian Edelman, the Patriots’ 28-year-old wide receiver, is the city’s most fashion-forward celebrity, catching the attention of listmaker US Trendy after rocking his Grammy presentation gig last week. “We wanted to get behind a Bostonian that was on the rise,“ US Trendy founder Sam Sisakhti said of the bearded Pat. ”Considering the Super Bowl win, he is someone who is really getting out there and representing Boston. Also, he takes risks. He has a very versatile style.“ The Boston-based website helps designers make a name for themselves in the fashion industry. Edelman’s gridiron partner, quarterback Tom Brady, came in 7th place — up from 27th place in 2014. Edelman even outdistanced Brady’s wife, Brazilian-born former top model Gisele Bundchen, who was only the third most fashionable Beantowner this year. The list isn’t a “best dressed” roundup, Sisakhti said, but rather focuses on the Bostonian’s influence on fashion. Orange is the New Black’s Taylor Schilling took second place, middle-age man on the block Donnie Wahlberg took fourth place, and television personality Maria Menounos finished fifth. “Taylor is just killing it on all the red carpets. She is a fresh face out there. Her look is minimalistic, but she always has a polished, feminine look,” he said. In 2011, GQ magazine called out the city as the worst dressed in the nation. But since then, Boston has managed to up its fashion game. “I’ve been getting asked less and less why I am in Boston,” Sisakhti said. “So I can kind of

gauge where we stand based on that. Another interesting thing that is happening — a lot more movies are being filmed in Boston. As a result, a lot more celebrities are coming through as well, and shopping on Newbury Street.” Boston’s Lauren Antos of Lily and Migs, a designer for US Trendy, says Boston should be cut some slack considering the dismal weather conditions. “We’ve had 90 inches of snow. For most people, sweat pants are the clothing of choice,” said Antos, whose company offers comfortable chic women’s wear. “But the city has evolved. Now there are so many avenues for local designers and fashionistas in Boston,” Antos said. MORGAN ROUSSEAU @MetroMorgan

Fears rise over roof collapses Snow. Conditions are perfect for roof collapses, according to a risk engineer.

Can snow collapse the roof of a Boston building? It’s a question of when, not if, Mayor Marty Walsh said. The mayor implored Bostonians to hire contractors to remove snow from their roofs after more than 7 feet crashed down on the city in the past three weeks. Roofs have already collapsed in Stoughton, Newburyport, Upton and Quincy. In Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 215 families will be out of their homes for a week after two collapses at an apartment complex. Conditions are ripe for roof collapses. “The loads keep building up and the weather hasn’t warmed where the previous snow has melted,” said Jim Breitkreitz, a risk engineer with commercial insurance company Zurich Services Corporation. The amount of snow a roof can handle varies wildly — it depends on the type, size and pitch of the roof, among other things. Breitkreitz said building

owners should have an engineer evaluate their roofs now to determine how much snow and ice it can handle and how much is currently there. Elevation changes in the roof can cause drifts, he said. Clogged drains are the genesis of many collapsed roofs, as snow and ice build up because there is no drainage. Commercial building owners should look for deflection in the steel beams that hold the roof deck up or sprinklerheads poking down a couple inches more than usual from a hanging ceiling. Any unusual creaking or groaning does not bode well, either. Doors that don’t close anymore are also a solid indicator that “you might have a loading problem.” But don’t try to remove snow yourself, Breitkreitz said; get a pro. And stay vigilant if and when melting starts. “Right now, the worst thing that could happen is warmer weather that only partially melts snow, followed by rain. Clogged drains would force the existing snow to soak up all the rain, making them extremely heavy,” Breitkreitz said. “That would be a very bad scenario.”

A pair of fires — one of which left a mother and son dead — gutted homes in Waltham Monday morning as the coldest temperatures in a decade froze the region. The first, a two-alarm blaze on Ash Street that began shortly after 2 a.m., killed Eric Miller, 49, and his mother, Elizabeth Miller, 75. Shortly after 8 a.m., a four-alarm fire swept through a home about a mile away, on School Street. Another two-alarm fire caused about $100,000 worth of damages to a large apartment complex on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain. Fire investigators determined the cause of that blaze was careless disposal of smoking materials. The fire affected at least three of the structure’s 147 apartments designed for elderly housing. There were no major injuries reported. “This tragic loss of life remains under investigation,” said

Egypt bombs ISIL targets in Libya after beheadings Video. The 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians were marched to a beach, forced to kneel and then beheaded. Egyptian jets bombed Islamic State targets in Libya on Monday, a day after the group there released a video showing the beheading of Egyptian Christians, drawing Cairo directly into the conflict across its border. Egypt said the strike hit militant camps, training sites and weapons storage areas in the neighboring country, where factional fighting has unleashed virtual anarchy and created havens for jihadi Islamists. Egyptian state television aired footage of fighter planes leaving a hangar with “Long live Egypt” emblazoned on their tails, followed by night-vision aerial footage showing bomb explosions and the aircraft returning in early daylight. Libya’s air force also participated in Monday’s attack, which targeted Derna, regarded as a base for Islamic State. So, how was your Valentine’s Day? I’m going to go ahead and guess that it was easily upstaged by Benedict Cumberbatch’s. The “Sherlock” star spent the romantic holiday getting married to fiancée Sophie Hunter in a private ceremony at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church on the Isle of Wight in England, as you do. So did the recently engaged couple go with the Valentine’s Day wedding date so it would be easy to remember? Or was it to make sure no one would question their romantic bona fides? My theory is that it happened to fall on the one weekend in Awards Season when he didn’t have to be somewhere flogging “The Imitation Game” — which also won a Writers Guild of America award for its screenplay the very same day. Everything’s coming up Cumberbatch.

Not only that, but the Biebs scored himself a front-row seat for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief event and got to be paraded around backstage by the hostess herself. They were even spotted holding hands, which might be more a Naomi Campbell affectation than signs of a burgeoning romance, but still. ‘Second Girl’ is no ‘Downton’ Review. This behindthe-scenes Eugene O’Neill ri doesn’t quite come together.

“The Second Girl, the Huntington Theatre Company’s latest, takes place in the kitchen of the Tyrone family from Eugene O’Neill’s classic play “Long Day’s Journey Into Night. Unfortunately for those of us watching playwright Ronan Noone’s saga of the family’s domestics, all of the compelling drama happens in O’Neill’s story. Unlike their employer, the kitchen help and chauffeur are little more than one-dimensional stock characters played by talented actors doing their very best with no dramatic arc and a wisp of a plot. They each speak of their American dream, but the obstacles appear to be too daunting for them to attain it. The pedestrian story might be entertaining if the characters were engaging, funny, or

Public School Ladies and gentlemen, meet the puffer cape. Public School distilled two of fall’s biggest trends — the poncho and the puffer — into one giant cloud-like garment that looked more like a blanket than a coat. We guarantee every editor in attendance wished she had one this week.

A trip to the Adirondacks in upstate New York inspired Prabal Gurung’s collection of oversize funnel-necked sweaters, fur-trimmed velvet coats and Native American-inspired patterns, which appeared on the designer’s signature slit-up-to-there dresses. Gurung has proved he can do sexy multiple times (the frocks felt a little beenthere-done-that), but the coziness here was new. The deconstructed fair isle knits, particularly in a figure-hugging midi dress, felt fresh.

DKNY’s city badass gets fancy for fall, tricking out the season’s big menswearinspired trend with sparkly details like bedazzled undone ties on tailored suits or jewel embellishments on a tough bomber. The outerwear was the star of the show: Smart, clean wool coats in gray, camel, navy and herringbone grabbed attention. No flash necessary.

“Girl you work it” lyrics from The Weekend’s new single for “50 Shades” seduced as models hit the runway. Working it is exactly what the women who wear DVF’s unabashedly sexy collection will do. While the daywear just hinted at sexuality (the classic decolletage-exposing wrap dress, a fitted pinstripe suit and coquettish florals), it’s evening when the femme fatale comes out, with slinky slipdresses, red lace cocktail numbers and some oh la la, leave-little-to-the-imagination gowns. TC

At Jason Wu’s slightly subversive fall outing, the designer showed exceptionally tailored trousers, demure dresses with eyebrow-raising slits and luxe fur stoles in military green, inky black and soft gray. Wu, who’s dressed first lady Michelle Obama for a fancy occasion or two, knows his way around gorgeous evening wear. This season he kept it fuss free: beaded Tshirt gowns, a shiny black jumpsuit, and a light-as-air white crepe halter that was just breathtaking. Oscar nominees, are you reading? TC

New York literati like Diane Keaton and Katharine Hepburn inspired the long, billowy trousers and ’70s-tinged tweed suits in Derek Lam’s refined collection. But we were also charmed by the knits: The cool opening navy V-neck with elbow patches, ever so slightly oversize hazelnut colored crewneck or any of the polished wool turtlenecks will be supersmart buys. When we were kids, the best thing about coloring was getting to use the 64-pack of crayons with the built-in sharpener. That’s no longer enough to impress kids these days, so Crayola has gone back to the drawing board to reinvent this favorite childhood pastime. The new Crayola Color Alive Coloring Pages take what kids color and make their creations come alive using a digital app (because, of course). Compatible with iOS, Android and Windows devices, parents can download the app for free on Crayola’s website, the App Store or Google Play. After kids finish coloring their picture in one of the books (which retail for between $1.99 and $5.99, the same price as low-tech coloring books), they can scan their creation and an animated version will show up on the app.

Kids can even insert themselves into their creation by taking a selfie, which will show up in the digital version of their coloring creation. NY HITS ROCK BOTTOM How low have things gotten in New York when it comes to pro sports? Fans are actually sad to see Amar’e Stoudemire leave town. During the city’s glory days, an injury-prone, ringless superstar player who never lived up to a monster free agent deal would have been driven straight to JFK without a thank you and most likely with a parting middle finger. It really, truly wouldn’t have mattered or not if he was a “nice guy.” Instead, the back-and-forth between Stoudemire and Knicks fans got pretty sappy, pretty quickly Monday afternoon after it was announced in the a.m. that he and the Knicks had reached an agreement on a buyout. Stoudemire posted a poem on his Instagram account Monday, thanking the city: “NY NY what a beautiful city, a place where you can hang out with Anna, Jay-Z and Diddy; It’s a place absent of excuses and patience, if you’re smart you can meet leaders of every nation; NY NY big city of dreams, everything in NY isn’t always what it seems; In the land where the jungle is concrete, the money flows Dow Jones and Wall Street; Home of #STATcity and the #Knickstape Originator, Shalom to all my fans, Salute to all my haters. Peace and Love, Amar’e Carsares Stoudemire Sr.” Touching. It reads like

something that was written by a 12-time champion and someone who had spent his entire career in NYC (he spent eight years in Phoenix, compared to just five in New York). A couple of Tweets from Knicks fans Monday: @CMSexton: “Amar’e, you were a great Knick. You got us Melo, and your streak of 30 point games was one of the best stretches of Knick fandom in years.” “@jstar277 Amar’e thanks for being a great #knick #nyk” Really? Oh, and you know those pointless CBS “Sports Radio minutes” on The Sports Hub in which John Feinstein rambles on about Georgetown girls lacrosse and Maryland basketball? Some Presidents Day Feinstein fill-in actually said, “thank you” to Amar’e on behalf of Knicks fans. Seriously, what am I missing, here?

GQ magazine that she “prefers” NBA players to all other walks of human life and that she scouts the NBA draft each year for her next conquests. Lisa Ann was in New York this past weekend for the gold mine of potential NBA gold diggers, All-Star weekend, and was no doubt impressed by the prospects of Andrew Wiggins, last year’s No. 1 pick. It appears as though Lisa Ann was hoping to spend more than a New York minute with the young star, as on Friday night she re-tweeted some generic game stories of Andrew Wiggins playing well in something called the Rising Stars Challenge (Re-tweeting game stories is the best way to any man’s heart, of course). At the very least, Wiggins is the right age for the actress as she said in the GQ interview that she’s not big on NBA vets. “I’m looking at 18, 19, 20-year-old guys. They’re my little specimens.”

The second-best team in the NHL also resides in the Central Division. St. Louis has won its last three games and is 8-2-0 in its last 10. The Blues are tied with Chicago for best goal-differential at plus-41.

Tampa Bay kicked off its fivegame road trip by detroying San Jose. Things figure to get tougher for the Lightning in Anaheim Wednesday. Tampa Bay’s goal-differential is an impressive plus-33.

The Blackhawks are picking it up (5-3-2 in their last 10) and are now in fourth place in the West. Marian Hossa (17 goals, 25 assists) is on fire, as he had two goals in three straight games last week.

The Red Wings dropping four spots from lat week is more of a function of the teams around them playing really well. Detroit is set to headout on a season-high sixgame road trip.

Belichick on Brady Bill Belichick opened up to Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski about his relationship with Tom Brady on the college coach’s Sirius XM radio show this past weekend. Via ESPN: “Tom and I have a great relationship and it really started in 2001 when he became the starting quarterback. ... Over the last 14 years, Tom and I, along with the other quarterbacks meet twice a week. ... Tom definitely has a lot of input. ... When you ask him at the end of the play what happened, he’ll tell you nine or 10 things that happened — with the rush, the way the defense played, the way the route was run, what he saw. You go back and look at the film and that’s the way it happened. So he’s able to process a lot of information in just a couple of seconds there.”

Ducks (35-15-7)

Islanders (37-18-1)

Penguins (32-15-9)

The top two teams in the East are having quite a battle in the Atlantic Division. Montreal and Tampa Bay both have 76 points but the Habs have done it in three fewer games and are 7-2-1 in their last 10.

With Frederik Andersen on IR (neck), the Ducks are scuffling a bit (4-5-1) in their last 10 games). The good news is that no matter what happens, it is next to impossible for the Sharks to catch them.

The Islanders have bounced back with four wins in a row. It is a big week for them as they host the Predators on Wednesday and have dates with Washington and Vancouver this weekend.

The Penguins are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and they were right there before dropping a 2-1 shootout in Chicago on Sunday. Saturday’s game in St. Louis should be interesting.
