You may be able to participate in a research study if you: Have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes before age 35 Are between the ages of 18-70 Have had diabetes for more than 8 years Have been told by a physician to have kidney problems related to diabetes (e.g., increased proteins or albumin in the urine)

Study involves: Taking study medication Kidney function tests 17 visits at the Joslin over 3 years Physical exams Blood and urine tests ECG
