non-eU mobile charges ‘double’
ROAMING charges for Irish mobile users travelling outside the EU have doubled in the past year, even as the cost of roaming within the EU was capped. As of March this year, a call made in the US costs an average €1.10 per minute, compared to 54c in the same month in 2013, Ireland’s communications regulator, ComReg, found. Receiving a call costs 64c per minute, a rise from 32c the year previous. In Ireland, charges to receive a call from a non-EU nation are above the European average of 43c. However, the cost of making a call abroad is lower than the average eurozone rate. A survey found Irish networks are complying with price caps for roaming within Europe, set by the European Commission in July 2013 to combat excessive prices. A spokesperson for the regulator said capping has curbed price

increases, but added that the lack of measures outside the EU bloc was likely to be the cause of the doubling costs. In a statement to Metro Herald, Vodafone said: ‘Vodafone Ireland has not increased charges for operators outside of the EU. In the US we offer RED roaming. When customers sign up to RED Roaming in the USA they pay a daily fee of just €2.99 to use calls and texts as they do at home from their pay as you go or bill pay plan.’ A spokesperson for O2 said: ‘O2 monitors and reviews tariffs taking into account applicable national and European regulations. For customers travelling outside the EU, O2 would recommend that they sign up for an O2 Travel Pass, which offers reduced roaming rates.’

Google to give Maps users room with a view
You need never get lost again – Google is to introduce indoor maps for shopping centres, airports and museums across Ireland. More than 40 locations, including Dublin Airport, have been mapped by the tech giant and their floor plans uploaded to its web and mobile Maps service. users will be able to find their way around iconic sites like the Guinness Storehouse and the Aviva Stadium, while also searching for their gate at Dublin Airport. Also identifiable will be specific shops, cash machines and bathrooms within shopping centres such as Dundrum Town Centre and Merchants Quay Shopping Centre in Cork. Endorsing the project, Guinness Storehouse managing director Paul Carty said the indoor map app would allow people to make the best use of their time as they visited the Storehouse and its seven floors. ‘At the touch of a button, consumers can see the floors, exhibits and even the food outlets from the comfort of their own mobile device,’ he said. It was a sentiment shared by John Hurley of the Dublin Airport Authority, who said Google was ‘giving passengers a refreshed view of the airport’, one that would help them get to their flights easier. ‘This mobile service permits the passenger to have real-time view of their exact location and their connecting flight location,’ he said. The interactive map tool is available in the Google Maps app on Android and ioS, as well as on desktop. To explore indoor plans, users search for the location they want to view and then simply zoom in.

Speaking at the launch of the book, Superintendent Karl Heller said: ‘Our colouring book in 2012 received such positive feedback we felt that we should build on the initiative and produce an activity book that has an even broader appeal.’ He added: ‘It will act as an introduction to personal safety as well as the work of An Garda Síochána.’ In keeping with the Christmas spirit,

straight and narrow with cops’ 12 tips AS THE festive season begins to reach fever pitch, An Garda Síochána has released a number of welfare tips to ensure people have a safe and sound Christmas. The guide – aptly named the Twelve Safety Tips of Christmas, in the spirit of the season – is a reminder to people on how to protect themselves and their property over the holidays. Sgt Kelvin Courtney said: ‘Christmas should be a time of year for everyone to enjoy. Our aim is to help people have a safe and peaceful Christmas, and not have to spend the festive period dealing with difficult and possibly traumatic situations for themselves or their families.’ The tips include the promotion of responsible drinking, crime awareness and home security. With thousands set to celebrate with Yuletide drinks, gardaí are urging people to enjoy alcohol responsibly, plan nights out carefully, and get home safely. ‘Tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back. You and your family should never walk home alone. Remember safety in numbers. If you have no option, walk in well-lit areas,’ it says. There are also some steps for shoppers to follow, such as watching out for pickpockets in crowded areas and storing gifts, in cars or at home, out of sight of thieves. Shopping should never be left unattended either. At ATMs, cover your pin code and only take out as much as you require. Handbags should be zipped closed, while wallets are best kept safe in a front pocket. If going away, it suggests you ‘make your home look occupied, leave a light on and get a neighbour to check on your property’.

tHe Metro North rail system is back on the table having previously been shelved because of the country’s ‘dire financial situation’, the Government has said. the project was named alongside five other potential developments as authorities aim to meet growing demand in the north dublin area. Speaking at a review of future transport needs, Minister for transport Paschal donohoe announced a shortlist of six projects that could service the busy Swords and Fingal corridor. ‘the Fingal area is one of the fastest growing areas in the country,’ he said. ‘Failure to put appropriate plans in place now to meet the long-term transport needs of this area will

Banking chiefs are urging savers to empty their piggy banks this Christmas because of a shortage of coppers in circulation. ireland is minting three times as many 1c and 2c coins as other eurozone countries because so many are being stashed away in money jars around the country. Because shops still need the small denomination currency, the Central
Bank has to keep issuing them and has distributed almost 2.5billion of the copper coins to date. now it is warning it may not be able to keep up with demand. ‘Lots of people keep copper coins in jars and piggy banks around the house,’ a Central Bank spokesman said. ‘There is €35.3million worth of 1c and 2c coins. This is better being spent or given to charity.’
mean increased congestion down the line which will ultimately threaten our economic development.’ Options up for public consultation include two heavy rail projects. A dart line linking Clongriffin to the airport and Swords is listed, along with an extension of the Maynooth line via a tunnel under Glasnevin. A Luas line from Cabra to the airport is also up for consideration. Meanwhile, the Metro North connecting St Stephen’s Green with dublin airport is being reconsidered. However, it would be significantly cheaper than previous estimates. A ‘combination option’ comprising ‘a dart link from Clongriffin to the airport and a Luas line from Cabra to Swords’ is also an option. the ideas were chosen from 25 proposals reviewed and assessed on technical feasibility, cost and environmental issues. Public feedback will be considered by the National transport Authority until January 19, 2015.
Ebola survivor not a fan of Band Aid a nURSE who survived Ebola has described the new Band aid 30 charity single as ‘cringeworthy’. William Pooley went back to work at an isolation unit in Sierra Leone despite having been airlifted to London after catching the disease. He urged people who want to help fight Ebola to donate money to charities working with patients directly. Mr Pooley
criticised the lyrics in the reworked Do They know it’s Christmas? featuring One Direction, Bono and Ed Sheeran and put together by Bob geldof. ‘On the way into work, i heard the first half of it. it’s definitely being talked about here among my colleagues,’ he told Uk’s Radio Times magazine. ‘But stuff about Do They know it’s Christmas? – it’s just like, actually people live normal lives
here and do normal things. ‘it’s africa, not another planet. That sort of cultural ignorance is a bit cringeworthy. There’s a lyric about “death in every tear”. it’s just a bit much.’ The new recording – which became the fastest selling single of the year – marks the 30th anniversary of the song, which was originally put together to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Taxi app banned in india after rape case US ONLiNe ride-hailing service Uber has been banned from operating in the New delhi area after a female passenger accused one of its drivers of rape, a case that has reignited a debate about the safety of women in india. Uber, which had employed the driver even though he had been arrested on allegations of sexual assault three years ago, would be
blacklisted from providing any future services in the indian capital, the city’s transport department said in a statement. A spokeswoman for Uber said she could not immediately comment. indian police were considering legal action against the taxi service for failing to run background checks on the driver. the
company said there were no defined rules in india on background checks for commercial transport licences and it was working with the government to address the issue. india is the fourth-most dangerous place for a woman to take public transport, according to a poll published in October by the thomson reuters Foundation.

1,800 jobs to be created in design plan
Up TO 1,800 jobs will be created as part of an all-island drive to promote Irish design across the world, Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has announced. Launching a year-long programme of some 300 events at home and overseas – dubbed Irish Design 2015 – Mr Bruton said it will showcase designers and boost exports by as much as €10million. ‘In Ireland, we have many great businesses producing excellent design,’ he said. ‘The challenge for Government is to showcase these brilliant businesses around the world and support them in selling their goods and services to foreign buyers. ‘That is why we have named 2015 the year of Irish design, and why we will be supporting a comprehensive programme of national and international events. ‘This will facilitate more sales for more Irish businesses, and crucially 1,800 badly needed extra jobs at home in Ireland.’ The initiative aims to help create 200 new design-led business start-ups, show-

A fund will help designers break into overseas markets, the Government says, while Dublin has been designated World Design Hub 2015 by the International Association of Designers. Libraries are also being encouraged to celebrate local designers with ‘Celebrate Your Local Design Hero’ events, workshops and mini festivals. Business Minister Ged Nash said the year will celebrate the best of Irish design over a range of mediums.

Anger as Dewani cleared of staging honeymoon hit
by AiDAn RADnEDgE
A MASSIVE fire in a tower block lit up central Los Angeles yesterday. The blaze destroyed the unfinished seven-storey Da Vinci apartment building and could be seen from kilometres away. Two smoke-filled freeways were closed as 250 firefighters spent almost 12 hours tackling the blaze. A wood-framed structure next to the construction site was destroyed and the blaze damaged
three floors of a nearby high-rise. There were no reported injuries. Speculation that an arsonist was at large intensified when three hours later 100 firemen were called to another blaze 3.2km to the west. Investigators are scanning security video and interviewing witnesses. LA fire chief Ralph Terrazas said it is too early to say if they were started deliberately.
Without US rescue bid, Luke would still be alive
Hostage’s family left furious after botched rescue
THE family of murdered al-Qaeda hostage Luke Somers (right) have criticised the US for its botched rescue bid, saying he would have been saved by diplomacy, not force. Penny Bearman, the London-born photojournalist’s stepmother, said she believes he would have backed further negotiations for his release. She told The Times she was ‘quite angry because if there had not been a rescue attempt he
would still be alive. We are sure Luke would have given support to the ongoing discussions (to secure his release) in Yemen rather than the conflict approach’. Mr Somers, 33, and his fellow captive, South African teacher Pierre Korkie, were both shot dead by al-Qaeda militants who had been alerted to the raid. Despite the deaths, US defence secretary Chuck Hagel won’t be reviewing his army’s rescue technique. He said: ‘Is there risk? Yes. But we start with the fact that we have an American that’s being held hostage and that American life is in danger.’
THE grieving family of murdered bride Anni Dewani have condemned a court’s decision to let her husband walk free. Relatives claimed justice had failed them as Judge Jeanette Traverso yesterday cleared Briton Shrien Dewani of having the 28-year-old killed on their honeymoon. Anni’s sister Ami Denborg said they had wanted answers but were leaving with more questions, after it emerged during the trial that Mr Dewani had been bisexual and hired male prostitutes. ‘We heard that Shrien has led a double life and that Anni knew nothing about it and we just wish that Shrien had been honest with us and especially with Anni,’ she said. The family of Anni, from Sweden, are now considering launching a lawsuit against Mr Dewani in Britain, saying they would never have let her marry him if they had known he had slept with men. However, Judge Traverso said evi-

Bubbles for beginners Pour into a flute and sip away. That’s how you drink champers, right, Dahhhling? Not quite. Read on for a masterclass in fizz-ics… By Beth McDonald
The Big Chill
For optimum taste, store your bottle int a cool place and pu on ice 30 minutes before serving
with duck and veal. Finally, never pair a rosé champagne with your dessert but turn to a demi-sec champagne, which is a much sweeter wine.
Ice, ice baby here’s his advice on how to drink champagne. and if you think you definitely don’t need to be told how to quaff, think again. some of what’s to follow may surprise you….
Champagne and food
T
hanks to the supermarket price wars, champagne has become more affordable than ever. Long gone are the days when champers was reserved for a special occasion or only to be popped at midnight on new Year’s Eve. so now that many of us can afford to drink it regularly, just what are the best ways to enjoy that bottle of bubbly? David hesketh is the managing director of Laurent-Perrier and
If you’re drinking champagne with your Christmas turkey then David suggests a decent vintage. ‘You need something with body and possibly some maturity,’ he says. ‘For such a special occasion I would recommend a 1996 vintage, although a 2002 or the latest Laurent-Perrier Vintage 2004 would also be good choices.’ But if turkey is not your thing on Christmas Day then a rosé is the way to go – the extra acidity works especially well
Thought sticking your bottle in the fridge would do? Most definitely not. Preparation is key here. store the champagne in a cool place and place on ice for 20 to 30 minutes before serving – this gives you the perfect temperature of between 8C and 10C. The over-chilling that happens to champagne in the fridge subdues all the aromas and flavours in the bottle. Most importantly, however, says David, is to ‘avoid any festive functions that pre-pour half a glass of champagne and then top up. This is
lazy and results in lukewarm champagne. You deserve better.’ he’s right, you do.
Opening night
Unless you’re Lewis hamilton, it’s really not appropriate to shower your guests in champagne when you crack open the bottle. as David quite rightly points out, ‘a cellar master has spent at least three years crafting the mousse and creating the bubbles. Why, oh why shoot the cork out of the bottle and spray a third of it over the bystanders?’ In fact, you shouldn’t even hear a pop if you’re opening the bottle correctly – more of a whisper as you remove the foil, loosen the wire cage and twist the bottle, not the cork, to gradually ease the cork out. and if you hold the bottle at 45 degrees for a few seconds this should stop the champagne from foaming out. Finally, a little LaurentPerrier tradition dictates that if two of you are sharing the bottle, one keeps the cork and
Got a whole LATTE love
How do they get those amazing patterns on the top of your coffee? Claire Coleman meets an expert in froth art... aRT can turn up in the most unlikely settings – and while the top of your coffee might not be the first place you’d look for a masterpiece, latte art is a new trend. From hearts and feathers to bears, swans and even elephants, you’ll be amazed what baristas can conjure up. To find out more, I met Grace Gordon of Villiers Coffee Company & Dining Room, who has become something of a self-taught master of latte art. ‘I had to step in for our barista one day,’ she
explains. ‘When you’re making 200 coffees a day, creating art on them makes it more interesting and it doesn’t take any longer.’ as a bored barmaid, I’d learnt how to draw shamrocks on pints of Guinness and assumed latte art worked in the same way, using the milk to trace a design into the top of the coffee. In fact, latte art relies on the difference in the densities between milk and coffee. ‘When you heat and aerate the milk,’ says Gordon, ‘you create a fine froth that sinks
beneath the surface of the coffee before rising back up again. By altering the speed and angle at which you pour, pour you can create a shape.’ You can then use more foam to create different designs with various tools – including a cocktail stick. You don’t even need a coffee machine.’ she shows me the simplest design – a heart made by pouring the heated milk at an angle so it forms almost a circle, then pushing the jug away from you to create a heart. It’s as tricky as it sounds – but here’s a cheat’s guide to make you look like a skilled barista artist...
the other the cage. Whoever fails to produce their half next time they meet has to get a round in. any excuse!
Glasses please
While a coupe-shaped glass saucer may be the most fun, serious champagne-istas insist on a white-wine glass with a tulip shape to allow you to appreciate the aromas and flavours. David’s current glass of choice is from the Riedel Veritas range (riedel.co.uk). always hold your glass by the stem to avoid warming the liquid.
Fill her up
If you’re unsure how much to put in your glass, look at your host. ‘If they are a little miserly and there are few bottles in sight, then fill it to the brim,’ David suggests. ‘If, however, they are a considerate host, one who is probably serving magnums, then your glass should be between half and two-thirds full, which gives the perfect ratio of oxygen to champagne and space to swirl and release the aromas.’ Useful information for hosts too. now you can tell whether your guests think you’re a tightwad!
Make your own latte heart 1 Pour a shot of coffee into a cup. 2 Heat and froth your milk. 3 Pour most of the milk into the cup cup, reserving the frothiest milk. 4 Sprinkle cocoa powder over the top. 5 Use a teaspoon to scoop the milk foam on top of the chocolate, making a circle or oval. 6 Drag a cocktail stick in a straight line from one side of the foam to the other. Et voilà! This will turn the circle into a pretty heart.

reaking across a snowy backdrop, all wobbly knees and sticking-out backside, there is nothing ladylike about my skiing. it’s the same story whenever i hit the slopes and end up chasing after my brothers, who shoot a constant trail of powder into my face. So i headed to Val Thorens in the French alps to improve my technique – and pick up some speed – at girlschool, which specialises in teaching women and children to ski. at 2,300m, this French resort is the highest in europe, with doorstep skiing and snow more or less guaranteed from november to May. This year, it retained its title as World’s Best Ski resort – and with more than 600km of pistes, a €20million lift investment and an increasing selection of ski schools, it’s a well-deserved accolade. new this season, girlschool was set up by friends Chloé Ferri and Julia Lejoille, who have 25 years’ tuition experience between them. ‘Parents usually prefer women to look after their children and many women like to learn with a female instructor,’ says Ferri as i click into my skis. as we sit on a chairlift, Ferri points out some of the differences between male and female skiers. ‘See how quick he’s going?’ she asks as a man whizzes beneath our feet, hacking up the piste. ‘Men are competitive and go fast but some don’t always have good technique or control and that can be dangerous. softer than men’s, making them easier for me to turn (plus, they are pink, the perfect complement to my raspberry-hued salopettes). We glide off the lift and start with a warm-up, where Ferri first watches me then demonstrates how to perfect the ‘basic position’. Snaking downhill on a gentle piste, I concentrate on keeping my weight forward, knees bent, skis slightly apart – and my hips in. I’ve noticed a nagging ache in my lower back that Ferri says is due to me adopting ‘the woman’s position’ – sticking out my bum à la Kardashian. Correcting the pose instantly relieves the pain and gives me more balance. We start smoothing out my turns and Ferri keeps asking how I am and cheerfully shouting praise with each improved manoeuvre. She is clearly tuned in to what I need, which is a few stops, gentle encouragement and steering towards the uncrowded slopes.
Then she utters the words I was dreading: ‘Let’s go faster.’ With skiing – just as with riding a bike – you need a certain amount of speed to balance. It also helps with mastering key techniques such as carving. Ferri gets me to stick my poles under my armpits and tuck into the racing position. ‘You need to be like an egg with legs,’ she says. ‘Let your skis slide.’ I point my skis downhill, hold my breath and push off. With Ferri at my side, I have an extra boost of confidence as I race downhill with the fresh Alpine wind whipping my face. Skidding to a stop at the bottom, I give a triumphant whoop. With a few more lessons, it won’t be long before I’ll be the one kicking up powder in my brothers’ faces. Bring it on.

Arsene axes sack talk Boss focused galatasaray v arsenal on Gala amid bad punchline to fans’ unrest A the same old Stoke by JAMES BOYLAN
ARSENE WENGER took the unusual step of naming his team in his prematch press conference but the Arsenal boss insisted it was business as usual despite mounting calls for him to be sacked. Saturday’s Premier League defeat at Stoke on Saturday gave the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade extra ammunition, however, ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray, the Frenchman maintained the latest criticism was not wearing him down. ‘No, not at all,’ said the 65-year-old. ‘We have to cope with that. We are professional footballers. ‘I am a competitive person. What is important is the next game and responding in a strong way. ‘It is part of our job here, you cannot always look for excuses. We are down. Everyone feels it.’ Victory for Arsenal and defeat for Borussia Dortmund would see the already-qualified Gunners go into the last-16 draw as Group D winners. Despite that carrot, Wenger has left behind Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Kieran Gibbs and Danny Welbeck, while youngsters Stefan O’Connor, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Gedion Zelalem, Glen Kamara, Chuba Akpom and Alex Iwobi have all travelled. Explaining his early team selection for the Istanbul game, Wenger said: ‘I have 11 experienced players and six young field players on the bench. That means I have nothing to hide.’

Arsenal have dragged themselves back into contention for top spot in Group D but their destiny does not lie entirely in their own hands. The Gunners’ comfortable win over Borussia Dortmund last time out means they go into the final round with hopes of winning the group and avoiding big guns like real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris saint-Germain next. however, even if they win at the Turk Telekom Arena – and Dortmund are one of only two teams to have done so this season – Wenger will have to pray Anderlecht pull off a result in Germany as even a draw would ensure Borussia remain top because of their superior goal difference. Arsenal would need to win by six or more if Jurgen klopp’s men draw.
With the Gunners guaranteed a place in the knockout stages, Wenger has opted to leave top scorer Alexis sanchez and laurent koscielny – still working his way back from injury – at home. With five league games in 20 days to come, his caution is understandable. expect to see Yaya sanogo get a go after his maiden goal against Dortmund.

u JAck Wilshere remains on course to return from his ankle injury in February despite claims to the contrary. Following reports of a setback yesterday it is understood the midfielder’s recovery is on schedule after suffering the injury last month.
Per Mertesacker admitted he was shocked by Arsenal’s defending at stoke. Not as shocked as those fans who optimistically made their way north for the annual defeat by the Potters,
however. Arsene Wenger’s men were cut to ribbons during the first half and the Mertesackercalum chambers pairing in central defence even made some yearn for Nacho Monreal. patience is the virtue Rodgers is counting on BRENDAN RODGERS has urged Liverpool fans to be patient ahead of tonight’s must-win Champions League game against Basel. A failure to break down a resolute Sunderland side brought dissatisfaction from some sections of Anfield on Saturday but the Reds boss insists that cannot be allowed to creep in against the Swiss. ‘We don’t need to win the game in the first minute, that is the key for us,’ said Rodgers. ‘European football is technical and tactical, we just need to win the game and for us we have 90 minutes-plus to do that. ‘We have to retain our patience and play a
good technical game and we have to be concentrated and focused and if we do that I believe we will have a great chance, aligned with the supporters and the passion they have. ‘It is a cup competition – the final game – and if we get through we can put it to bed for a few months, and hopefully it will give us that confidence in our league form.’ Rodgers insists there have been numerous occasions during his two-and-a-half years at Anfield when his side have faced ‘win or bust’ scenarios but in truth this is the first of real significance. ‘It is a different competition and different
level but the importance is still everything,’ he said. ‘It is a game we just want to stay focused on what we have to do. ‘The importance of the game is there: to get through and qualify. In my time here we have had games that were deemed as “must win” games and more times than not we have won them. ‘We arrive with great confidence that we can get the job done. ‘We are only focusing on the positive result. We see it as an opportunity rather than a threat to anything we are doing this season.’

Arsene WenGer has responded to the barrage of personal abuse metered out by disgruntled Arsenal fans, urging them to judge his side at the end of the season. The Gunners boss was subjected to some aggressive jeering as his players boarded the train back to London after saturday’s 3-2 defeat at stoke, which leaves them in sixth place. Wenger is seeking a response in tonight’s Champions League Group match at Galatasaray, having already qualified for the last 16. But he said: ‘We want to be judged at the end of the season, not after every single game where it is normal that emotion is always very high. ‘Let us get our stability back defensively and see at the end of the season where we are. ‘Look, the response after a defeat is always very important. What we want is to come back quickly to a strong defensive performance, what we had before the game. ‘We showed a lack of experience defensively [at stoke], but we could have scored four or five goals and the team response was quite strong. ‘For the rest, you expect that everyone is disappointed after that result, but the Premier League is difficult.’

Stokes hails ‘outstanding’ Ambrose for shoring up Celtic defence ANTHONY STOKES has praised Efe Ambrose for his seamless return to the heart of the Celtic defence. The Nigeria international has not always been a first choice e-back under manager centre-back Ronny Deila but took over from Jason Denayer after the 19year-old Belgian picked up a foot injury during the home game against Dundee last month. Ambrose helped the Hoops to their third successive shut-out in Saturday’s 1-0 Premiership win at Motherwell where Stokes’ goal maintained the Hoops’ threepoint lead over Inverness at the top of the table.
The Irishman claimed a big part of the Parkhead side’s recent results are down to the defence – Ambrose in particular. ‘Efe has come in and done very well,’ Stokes said. ‘Obviously Jason has a niggle at the minute but b we have that quality in the squad. ‘If someone is injured or is lacking form, someone can step in and take their place – and Efe has been outstanding ‘They have ha (all) been doing very v well. ‘We have been strong at the back and Craig Gordon has been immense since coming in. ‘We have momentum at the minute, winning games and we’re keeping clean sheets as well.’
Stokes (inset) believes his third goal in five games was a result of Celtic’s high-tempo pressing game which Deila continues to preach. The Fir Park side were stunned by the ferocity of the visitors’ start to the game and in the sixth minute – after midfielder Stefan Johansen intercepted Fraser
‘We go out trying to win every game’ Kerr’s pass before rounding keeper Dan Twardzik – the Republic of Ireland forward was handed his seventh goal of the season gift-wrapped. Stokes said: ‘When Stefan Johansen took his touch, I knew he was wide enough that he would have to square it. It was
an easy enough finish in the end. ‘The way we’re playing at the moment is different to how we played in the past. ‘We have one striker up front but everyone has been given a licence to get forward – the wingers, midfielders. ‘It’s a case of pressing higher up the pitch and trying to get as many runners in the box as possible.’ Celtic’s seventh league win on the trot sets them up well for their final Europa League Group D game on Thursday night against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia – the Parkhead club are already qualified for the knock-out stages – and for the festive period. ‘We always go out with the mentality of trying to win every game,’ he said.
