PRESENT and PLANN LAND USE

SEEA MIBACLE withyourowneyes--

Can the ravages of sixty years be erased overnight?

Can run-down fields be transformed into a model farm from sun-up to sun-down?

The answer is a resounding "YES."

On October 7 you will see this miracle performed before your own eyes.

Three hundred-thirty-one workmen, twenty-three engineers, ten agronomists, several biologists, and scores of other specialists will place their strength and knowledge behind this effort.

The might of nearly five hundred men will be multiplied many fold by sixty pieces of the most modern earth moving machinery, many shown here for the first time, and being demonstrated for your benefit. Inaddition, morethanone hundred twenty-fivepieces of the latest farm implements and auxiliary attachments will be in operation.

Many thousands of acres of Oklahoma's vast farm lands await similar treatment and reconstruction to restore them to their virgin fertility. Much is being done through Oklahoma's 77 soil conservation districts but here on October 7 will be unfolded a panorama of men and machines in action that will inspire similar activities everywhere.

Each field will be prepared for the crops and other land use for which the area is designated in the Master Conservation Plan made by the U. S. Soil Conservation Service and Oklahoma A & M College. Plans call for the leveling of old terraces and the building of new ones, the filling of gullies, construction of culverts, laying of soil tile, planting of trees, remodeling and relandscaping of farmstead layout, reclaiming of an old orchard, rebuilding of ponds, erection of cattle guards and fences, together with plowing, harrowing, discing, fertilizing, liming, and finally planting of the areas.

Adequate plans for the comfort and convenience of thousands of visitors will be arranged. Drive your car to the project entrance on West Tenth between Portland and May Avenues.
