True philanthropists don’t usually seek recognition, mostly staying under the radar, just happy to give to those less fortunate. Since early December, the Twelve Days of Giving campaign has seen a di erent video published each weekday, sharing philanthropy stories from individuals, business and government.

people to embrace the opportunities around them to help address the hurdles facing New Zealanders, and not just at Christmas and New Year.

Giving doesn’t only mean money. Time, food parcels, gifts for children, all help to make a di erence in people’s lives, so think about how and what you can donate.

Pop a gift under the Metropol o ce tree for the Christchurch City Mission to distribute, or maybe volunteer at one of the many charitable organisations.

Research shows that giving can boost your physical and mental health via “feel-good” chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin, so dive in and experience those warm fuzzy feelings, and the smiles they bring.

BOSS LADY

Abbey Dickson is the brains behind Christchurch’s Fashion Society boutiques. She shares the pivotal moment in becoming her own boss and the journey she has embarked on with Metropol Deputy Editor Nina Tucker.

Returning from a fleeting Sydney work trip just the day before, Abbey was wearing a chic Onte vest, straight-cut jeans, and heels in a hue that matched her top when I sat down with her. She’s the epitome of put-together, a mother juggling a thriving multi-site business with finesse.

Years spent working for high-end retail boutiques in Sydney, Australia similar to Christchurch’s Fashion Society stores, and her work ethic, which she thanks her parents for, saw her quickly climb the ladder. Little did she know, those years of commitment to the nine-to-five schedule would be the stepping stones to becoming her own boss. “I found myself in Sydney,” says Abbey.

Over a decade in the retail industry meant she had learned enough to take the leap. Abbey returned to her hometown, Christchurch, with her partner in business and life, Chris. While working at a local boutique, she discovered a niche demand in designer clothing she could tap into. “I saw a gap in the Christchurch market.” All Abbey needed was an opportunity.

Like a master of manifestation, the boutique where she worked, with one store each in Merivale and The Tannery, a factory, and a cosmic amount of stock, became available for her to purchase. Abbey rebranded, and with cemented connections across New Zealand and Australia’s fashion and buying landscapes, the process was an easy transition. It was meant to be. “I always knew [it would work],” Abbey says. She had a unique approach too, with no key performance indicators (KPIs) or cut-throat sales targets for her sta , and a goal to stock brands you couldn’t get elsewhere. One-on-one styling would be at the core of Fashion Society, o ering transformative guidance that is seldom complimentary.

Abbey re-entered Christchurch’s fashion industry with vast knowledge and experience, yet she’s glad the fast pace of Sydney hasn’t followed her home. That’s not to say she doesn’t live a hectic lifestyle, sometimes working up to six days a week all while caring for their 18-month old daughter Frankie, who she says is “better for [the variety]” each week. “It’s always been full noise for us.” Finding appreciation in a smaller community and clientele, Abbey cherishes the hours she can spend styling a client’s dream ensemble.

It’s easy to forget, amongst the intensity of being a business owner, that Abbey has full-time access to a wardrobe thousands would envy. Myself included. She’s more interested in what those clothes mean, and the emotional transformation they inflict on her customers. “A lot of women do forget that clothes are so powerful,” she says, adding how gamechanging a full look with hair and makeup is.

Her profession and styling genius earned her a spot as a judge at The Crossing’s Cup Day Fashion Marquee in November. Although it was a huge leap outside her comfort zone, it was an unmissable opportunity for Abbey and Fashion Society.

Just under 12 months into Fashion Society’s metamorphosis, the pandemic hit. It presented a myriad of challenges, such as bringing in revenue and maintaining the beating heart of the business –

the customers. With blurred vision of the forecast and a lack of customer feedback, Abbey bought and experienced a few ranges that fell short. She quickly adopted the ‘sink or swim’ mentality. “We’ve got to keep going,” Abbey told her partner Chris at the beginning of the lockdowns. “And we did,” she says. Given the investment, they had no choice.

She lists the countless obstacles in running a business, from the beginning when so many banks refused to support the investment, to adapting and adding or removing brands as necessary. They say high risk, high reward, and the reward for Abbey and her family has been monumental. Would she do anything di erently? “I wouldn’t,” she says. “Everything is a lesson learned. The things that have gone wrong or changes I have had to adapt to have made our business more successful.”

Throughout our conversation, one thing is evident: Abbey believes she owes it all to her customers – but I know there is a lot of dedication and hard work behind her success too. “Our business is our customers,” she says. Each customer influences her style, buying processes, and growth. Everything happens for a reason, Abbey agrees, and it’s true. “We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t do what we’re doing.”

BUYING: BEHIND THE SCENES

Abbey has already completed most of her winter buying for 2025, and timeframes are just the start of what goes into curating the range you will find in a Fashion Society store. It’s a bigger headache than you think. She sometimes flies to showrooms in Australia for just one day, and is home to Chris and Frankie that evening.

Abbey describes a gorgeous leather boot on its way for winter, “so when I’m doing coats, I’ll make sure I’m connecting those colours. Everything that comes in needs to work for that season.” The fashion forecast? Wide cut jeans and chocolate hues. I can’t wait.

• Fit and function: Abbey tries on every single garment in showrooms across New Zealand and Australia, before deciding whether it deserves a spot in her collection. “It’s instinct. Fit, fabric, weight, colour combinations,” she says.

• Filling gaps: Consistently considering the gaps in her range to suit things such as the seasonal calendar, Abbey looks for new brands and pieces, such as black-tie and formal wear or more diverse sizes.

• Timelessness over trends: Abbey believes in good quality basics, and pieces that can be worn forever.

• Industry awareness: Staying up-to-date with established and emerging overseas brands, and movers and shakers within the landscape. “All I want to do is bring these amazing, incredible brands to Christchurch.”

On a mission with Corinne Haines

Christchurch’s City Mission CEO Corinne Haines knows all about giving, spending most of her waking moments helping those less fortunate. She talks to Metropol Editor Lynda Papesch about her role, and why.

Retirement didn’t last long for Corinne Haines. After 45 years in finance and management, mostly in the IT sector, Corinne did call it a day in January 2022, just for a moment. In April that year, she accepted the temporary role of CEO, City Missioner for the Christchurch City Mission, the position becoming permanent in 2023.

Improving the lives of Christchurch’s most vulnerable people is her mission, and her privilege. It’s not a role that Christchurchborn Corinne ever thought she could do. She happily filled in for six weeks, yet when that became six months and ongoing, “I then suggested that I was happy in the role and was prepared to make a longer-term commitment,” she laughs.

The first woman to be Christchurch City Missioner in its 95-year history, Corinne believes she was “the person in the right place at the right time”. Many roles in her life have been because someone saw her skills, thought they could be useful, and she wanted to prove their faith in her was not unfounded.

Well past retirement age when she left Trimble, where she was the Asia Pacific Managing Director/Finance, Corinne had planned to use her considerable skills by giving back as a volunteer to other organisations.

Helping others has always been important to this dedicated Christian, for as long as she can remember, even at primary and secondary school. When asked if she saw herself as a philanthropist, Corinne says she automatically thought about people, like Bill Gates, who have billions of dollars and support charities. “On reflection, I’ve come to the conclusion that philanthropy is not only about those with millions to share; it is about anyone who seeks to look after the welfare of others, to improve the wellbeing of those around them, through the donation of not only money, but also time, skills, resources, and e ort.

“It is about the desire to make a positive impact on the community driven by a sense of personal commitment to helping others. Philanthropy is not limited to those with much money, but to people like myself. I have a big commitment to the community and those around me by using money, time, talents and resources for the benefit of others, so yes in that way, I could be considered a philanthropist.”

Her history of giving is lengthy. She’s been treasurer and secretary for not-for-profit organisations and the church. She’s mentored others in treasurer roles, lectured people in business and financial skills, was on four school PTAs, ran second-hand clothing shops, helped at school fundraising

activities and school and church fairs.” Her list goes on: teaching Sunday School from around age 15, church committees, and hundreds of weekends spent on sports fields, at rugby matches, and the 1974 Commonwealth Games as a St John Ambulance volunteer [with late husband Carey Haines].

“My mother was very involved in school activities, so she was a great role model for me, setting the scene for helping and giving back,” Corinne explains.

Working at the Mission means Corinne is continually giving. One of her special joys is hearing from clients whose lives have improved thanks to their relationship with the Mission. “Those who have been in our Transitional Housing programme and at the end of their stay have been able move into permanent housing. Those who been through our Alcohol and Other Drug services, especially our Detox Unit, and are free from addiction after attending our services, some after many years of addiction.

“The joy on the faces of the children, and their parents, when they come to our Christmas Grotto and the knowledge that these families will be able to enjoy the pleasure of giving and receiving presents on Christmas Day.

“The knowledge that in the week before Christmas we will give out 1800 food parcels so families can have a very special meal on Christmas Day, and also there will be enough food for that family to have great meals for several days over the holiday period.

“One of our employees told me small miracles happen at the Mission every day, and that gives me joy in knowing that there will be 365 small miracles every year. These little miracles help me to feel joy in what we do.”

Christmas has always been a family time. “Right from when I was very little, with our grandparents coming to our place to have our special present opening time, and the same when my children were little to carry on that tradition with my parents and my children.”

Corinne loves the tradition of lighting an advent candle each week to focus on love, joy, peace and hope. She is expecially fond of the service of Advent Lessons and Carols, and Nine Lessons and Carols, foretelling of the birth of Jesus through readings and carol singing.

“As a family we have always been together for Christmas lunch, with parents, cousins and grandparents, and my godfather who had no family of his own, and came until age 101. Today, I share Christmas with my daughter, son, sister, and her family. It is a very special time to gather as a family and catch up and experience the joy on the faces of the children as they enjoy the family time and their presents.”

The Christchurch City Mission has been around for over 95 years, supporting the most vulnerable people. Providing accommodation and food are its core services, alongside four main areas of focus: Homeless and Housing, Journey to Recovery, Empowering Families, and Thriving Communities. Focus is on supporting those who need help in finding hope, a sense of direction, a vision, skills to move into the community and improve their wellbeing.

Polarised and Prada

A question often asked is, “Should I use a particular lens for my sun wear?”

Constantly improving lens technology means there are many options available to ensure optimal vision correction and sun protection is provided, tailored to patients’ specific needs.

Alastair, Dispensing Optician at Anstice Optometrists says many patients recognise the importance of bespoke sun wear, and seek recommendations for the best possible prescription sun lenses for their needs. “The di erence a great lens makes will enhance the enjoyment of outdoor adventures and in addition provide so many benefits for eye health,” he says.

Polarised lenses are popular as they provide sharper vision, reduce eye strain and improve contrast sensitivity, adds Alastair.

He adds that sun tint lenses o er a level of glare reduction. The lens colour also plays an important role based on intended activities. Grey-based lenses are great for boating and driving, copper-based lenses work well for golf and target-based actions, and brown-based lenses provide excellent contrast for everyday use.

Another initiative was Putt for Prostate, where Jurassic Adventure opened its mini golf course at 6am on 20 September to host Dave Fitzgerald’s 700 putts in one day, to honour the 700 men yearly who die of prostate cancer. Aaron says that the opportunity to get involved in charity events is never turned down. “It’s extremely worthwhile.”

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Monumental, captivating, hi ory-making. That is how you might describe the celebration that marked 10 years of anding rong once again, for one of Chri church’s renowned arts e ablishments.

The Isaac Theatre Royal’s Anniversary Variety Gala was an unforgettable celebration of resilience, creativity, and community, marketing and deveolopment manager Bianca Lindstrom says. Opening the evening was none other than Sir Ian McKellen, whose surprise video message from London’s West End was both entertaining and heartwarming, setting the tone for a spectacular night.

The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) took centre stage—literally—playing from the stage rather than the orchestra pit, to create a more immersive and electrifying audience experience. Hosts Anika Moa and Jason Gunn, true Cantabrians, brought hilarity and heartfelt warmth, guiding the audience through a night of show-stopping performances that celebrated Christchurch’s remarkable rebuild.

Standouts from the evening included ballet duo Hamish Giddens and Tamison Soppert, with a graceful artistry that captivated the audience. At just 14, Tamison displayed breathtaking elegance and poise, marking her as a rising star. The aerial tango by EPIC artists was mesmerising, sultry, and beautifully paired with violinist Fiona Pears, whose tango-infused melodies added depth and flair.

The evening also saw the launch of the Live & Local initiative with local singer-songwriter Ste any Beck performing an original piece, Bianca adds, followed by powerhouse Kiwi musicians from the Come Together supergroup featuring Julia Deans alongside the CSO. Special appearances by Richard O’Brien and Miriam Margolyes, the latter performing Charles Dickens with unmatched charm, were true highlights. Showbiz Christchurch had the audience dancing in their seats with a medley from MAMMA MIA!, while Mark Hadlow and Jared Holt delivered a humorous yet stunning rendition of Nessun Dorma in Christ’s College uniforms.

The night also brought the thunderous energy of Takumi Japanese drummers, spoken word poetry, hip-hop, comedy, and the ethereal voices of NZ Opera. The finale, an all-cast performance of the Kiwi classic Welcome Home, led by Anika Moa and the CSO, was a heartfelt conclusion that brought the full house to its feet.

This gala was more than a celebration; it was a testament to the spirit of Christchurch and the Isaac Theatre Royal, showcasing its place as a cornerstone of creativity and culture. isaactheatreroyal.co.nz

NZ’s top businesses

In an increasingly challenging business environment, the importance of excellent customer service has never been more critical.

The annual Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards, announced recently, highlight those businesses that have earned the trust and loyalty of New Zealand consumers through their outstanding customer service.

This year’s awards take on special significance in the face of New Zealand’s current economic challenges, says the publication’s editor-in-chief Louise Waterson. “With rising inflation and the increasing cost of living, consumers are more discerning with their spending. In these times, businesses need to go beyond just fulfilling a service,” she says.

“They need to truly understand their customers’ unique needs, and how they solve a problem is often a deciding factor

in retaining their loyalty. The businesses that excelled this year understand that superior service is key to not just satisfying customers, but creating lasting positive impressions that keep them coming back.”

Gold awards this year went to AA Insurance, Princess Cruises, Hertz, Mitre 10, Best Start, Electric Kiwi, Flooring Xtra New Zealand, New Zealand Seniors, Kings Plant Barn, Frank Energy, Southern Cross Insurance, Specsavers, Signature Homes, JAE Group, Skinny, Liquorland, Toyota Signature Class, Resene Paints, SPCA Pet Insurance, Barfoot & Thompson, Summerset, AA Roadservice, Milford Asset Management, New World, The Tile Depot, Bridgestone, and Turners Cars.

Home stretch for 2024

Christmas mince tarts and decorated trees go hand-in-hand at this time of year.

Just like Home Lending and Interest Rates. It’s so easy to just park anything finance related at this time of year, when in fact it is a great time to start talking about your personal finance goals for 2025. Do you want to pay down your home lending faster? Is there a renovation on the cards?

The latest OCR reduction was nicely timed, and we are now starting to see some steady reductions in both the fixed and floating interest rates. Everyone has a personal finance story so be sure to get good, tailored advice when it comes to fixing in your home loan. Not everyone is the same, and just because your mate thinks it’s a good idea, it isn’t necessarily so.

We love seeing some good news stories during our working weeks, and we have had many clients lately who after months of house hunting, have finally found the perfect home. Like lending, it’s a game of patience and when it is meant to be, it all falls into place.

The holidays are close now, and the team at Mylend are excited to be having a well-deserved break. The o ce at Bealey Ave will be closing for the year on 20 December and reopening in January. I’d really like to take this time to thank our lovely clients. We thoroughly enjoy working with you on your financial journey, and it is a privilege to work with you year after year.

Roll on 2025…

Feel free to send me an email over the break if you have any pressing thoughts or questions. I’d be happy to get you started for 2025.

Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe and happy holiday break!

Principal team property in business

A growing team is a seal of confidence, and in the thrilling landscape of real estate, more hands on deck are a welcome relief.

Team is the key word, and newly-recruited assistant Marie Stokes (pictured right) makes the Harcourts Grenadier trio complete alongside the ever-succesful Vic Raha and Melissa Davenport. Marie brings more than just excellent service and experience, she becomes an added point of contact for easy accessibility. “We value communication in whichever form you prefer – in person, over the phone, text, or even WhatsApp,” she explains. When selling or buying your biggest asset, availability and fast responses are key.

Across the latest in local real estate, the team gladly reports increased buyer activity from owner occupiers and first home buyers in Canterbury. This is a great sign, and an increase of 18% in auction activity year-on-year for Grenadier is an even better one. “Practised and polished”, that’s their secret to prosperous auction campaigns.

Their team-focused ethos proves rewarding in other areas too, with a list of contacts across top home stagers, builders, gardeners, and cleaners – to ensure your home goes to market at its best.

With declining interest rates, the market expects a gradual recovery moving into 2025 according to REINZ Chief Executive Jen Baird. “Increased confidence among vendors and buyers, despite challenges like the cost of living,” make it an ideal time to connect with Team Raha.

In 2024, we won’t see any new collections from local fashion legend Kate Sylvester. We wave goodbye to the storied house and innovative designs we fell in love with all the way back in the 1990s. Kate’s departure leaves a gap in the local fashion landscape, and we can only hope it empowers budding designers to fill her shoes.

Her final collection, Into the Desert, was born from an exploration of the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan between Kate and her partner Wayne. In the end, it became the perfect reference to finish on. “Time passes di erently in the desert – it is our past and future. It appears empty but is brimming with life. It’s the setting for epic historical events,” she explains.

Ethereal and relaxed with a sophisticated edge, the collection is available now at katesylvester.co.nz

NOTEWORTHY

Jon M. Chu’s Wicked has landed in theatres worldwide and across the country, garnering lots of chatter with its all-star cast featuring Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Peter Dinklage, and Je Goldblum.

Its core colours, pink and green, (not to be mixed up with The Fairly OddParents) showcase the juxtaposition of Ariana and Cynthia’s characters yet in a beautifully complementing way. Fashion designer Caitlin Crisp, mother Karen, and friends (pictured) nailed the brief with their colour-coordinated looks for the Auckland premiere. Close enough to Christmas in colour scheme, the timing is wonderful to marry fashion and film, such as these picks from Twenty Seven Names.

Christchurch’s fashion up-and-comers

Student-led fashion show Prospect Ōtautahi showcased and celebrated the designs of 40 Ara students at Majestic on Durham in late November for its third year running. Over 200 looks walked the runway to the adoring eyes of 400 people.

Third-year Bachelor in Fashion Technology and Design student Mya Clement spearheaded the 2024 show alongside fellow student designers Melanie Wade, Jess Robertson-Wright, Alexander Yee, and Andy Sales. The evening was a “beautiful celebration of hundreds of hours of hard work put into creating these designs,” Mya shares. IMAGES: Jasper Mooney’s (left) and Mya Clement’s designs on the runway. On the forecast: having fun

From street-style to runway ensembles, volumnious silhouettes and boundary-pushing clothes still surround us. Designers worldwide are leaning in to their eclectic sides after playing it safe for a few years. Plus, the oversized-everything trend has arguably made way for similar freedom across multiple design elements, between form, texture, and movement.

The late, great Lee McQueen once said “Fashion is not to be taken too seriously. They’re just clothes at the end of the day.” He also said “There are no rules.” The latest looks to hit New Zealand shores excite me, like this extraordinary Acler mini dress, which I just hope to see someday worn in Christchurch with confidence.

Fashion is about having fun, expressing yourself through silhouette and style. Step out of your comfort zone this season.

“Fashion is not to be taken too seriously. They’re just clothes at the end of the day.”

Lynda Papesch offers some suggestions, taking inspiration from various astrological insights into preferences and personality traits for the various signs of the Zodiac.

Arians are strong personalities, love floral fragrances for their romance and sensuality, and enjoy dynamic citrus notes.

Taureans can be both stubborn and thoughtful. Spicy fragrances echo their fiery personalities, while woody scents reveal their charisma.

Geminis are optimistic, gentle and carefree. Gourmand fragrances reflect their epicurean side while green notes perfectly convey their energy and dynamism.

Cancerians are inspired by their feelings. Their instincts lead them to floral and fruity fragrances, and spicy scents that emphasise their spontaneity.

Leos like to be the centre of attention. Spicy scents express their fiery, extravagant side. Virgos enjoy spring scents with notes of lily of the valley and jasmine.

Librans are sweet and outgoing, and floral notes combine perfectly with their natures.

Scorpios have strong characters. Citrus and spicy scents showcase their dynamic personalities while floral notes give a glimpse of their emotions.

Sagittarians like woody and spicy scents that demonstrate their outgoing personality.

Capricorns look for a sense of security, gravitating to gourmand fragrances that reassure them and evoke childhood memories.

Aquarians like unique fragrances, and will often create their own scents.

Pisceans are the Zodiac’s dreamers, preferring sweet and gourmand notes to let their imagination run wild.

Wash

A life-threatening scare four years ago led a Christchurch couple to create a unique bodywash, aimed at women and men using it to regularly check for cancer signs.

Aptly named Check Your Bits, the bodywash is the brainchild of Tamara Milne and Ryan Newman, inspired by their own experience with breast cancer in 2020. “We are now on a mission to increase the knowledge and awareness around breast cancer in younger women; and teach the important life-saving skills of how to perform self-checks,” says radiographer Tamara.

She and Ryan, an architectural designer, founded Check Your Bits after Tamara’s personal battle with breast cancer, which started during the 2020 pandemic. During a routine self-check, Tamara discovered a lump in her breast. She credits her self-checking habit with saving her life and wants others to “know their normal” and take charge of their health.

“We were shocked to learn how few people had a regular self-check habit, and some admitted they’d never even checked themselves,” says Tamara. “Early detection is critical, and we wanted to make it easier, more approachable, and more accessible for everyone to prioritise their health.”

let’s chat fashion

What is Lenton?

As the founder of Lenton, I wanted to curate a selection of beautiful brands that I fell in love with while living in Sydney, I felt New Zealand was missing a boutique that provided a comprehensive range of outfit options rather than just one-off pieces My goal was also to introduce niche brands that you wouldn't find in every second store "

Where did the name come from?

The name Lenton comes from my great-nana, Nelly Lenton, whose creativity and strength inspired me She was a talented tailoress and my grandma -Janet Galbraith was a brilliant dressmaker Watching her sew without patterns sparked my own love for fashion and design "

Why did you choose to open in Kaikōura?

“I'm originally from Kaikōura where we also have our boutique homewares store, Addy and Lou It felt natural to start our journey there, after all, folks from tiny towns, love cool stuff “

do you ship nationwide?

“We proudly offer nationwide shipping! All our stunning pieces are available on our website, and the best part? Shipping is completely free!"

Breast and testicular cancers are among the most common cancers, yet many cases go undetected until it’s too late.

Tamara and Ryan’s mission is to make early detection a priority for everyone, everywhere.

Their bodywash was launched early in December 2024, and they hope it will encourage more people to perform regular self-checks, in the hopes of ultimately reducing the number of New Zealander’s living with advanced cancer, and reduce the mortality statistics. “We worked on the bodywash for the last couple of years,” says Tamara, “A beautiful all-natural product, it is designed to be your visual prompt in the shower to ‘Check Your Bits’. Making checks an everyday habit could save lives.”

More than a health campaign

Check Your Bits is a movement, designed to empower individuals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to integrate self-checks into their daily lives.

The initiative o ers:

• Simple tips for conducting e ective self-checks.

• Regular reminders to help establish consistent habits.

• Educational resources to promote awareness of early detection and the importance of knowing your normal.

The exciting first product in the Check Your Bits Bodycare range, is a bodywash with purpose; designed to sit in the shower and act as your visual reminder to perform your self-check. An all-natural bodywash, with 100% verified natural fragrance, it’s safe for the whole family.

Join the movement. Visit the website to learn more, sign up for reminders, and become part of the community.

‘Tis the season to indulge, overeat, forget to eat, drink too much, or forget to hydrate during all that festive fun.

Health experts say there’s no reason not to enjoy stress-free celebrations, if you follow a few simple tips, such as these below:

• Stu ng is for turkeys, not people so resist the urge to stu yourself. Don’t skip regular meals, and don’t fill up on nibbles before the main course.

• Start your day with a healthy and balanced breakfast (or brunch).

• Listen to your body. Research has shown it takes 20 minutes for your brain to know you are full, so if you’re contemplating seconds, take a break before piling up your plate again.

• Eat slowly. Try to eat slowly and focus on socialising rather than eating. This will give your stomach time to signal it’s not really hungry anymore.

• Try healthy alternatives, such as salads, fish, and brown rice.

• Stay hydrated. Alternate each drink (beer, wine, tea, co ee, spirits, cocktails) with a glass of water throughout the day.

• Stay active. Yes, it’s time to relax, but don’t be tempted to sit around all day. Twenty minutes of exercise is all you need, so take a walk, a swim, or break out the tennis racquets.

• Relax the rules. Overindulging occasionally doesn’t hurt, so be kind to yourself.

• Make time for yourself. Avoid a heavy schedule and whirlwind of festivities. Take time to relax and unwind. A good sleep, or a pamper session will work wonders.

BURNOUT Self-awareness and preventing

Vertical growth is the answer to overcoming feelings of burnout, and becoming self-aware, says author, wellbeing and leadership coach Michael Bunting.

Author of the bestselling title The Mindful Leader and co-author of Extraordinary Leadership in Australia and New Zealand, Michael and his team help leaders and organisations around the world to fulfill their highest potential. Having worked with global brands such as Qantas, Novartis, HSBC, Kellogg’s, OMG, Swarovski, Hilton Hotels, CSIRO and the big 4 accounting firms, he believes that less than 1% of the population is truly self-aware, a character facet needed for vertical growth.

Michael’s interpretation of vertical growth means having the self-awareness to take a “bird’s eye view” on life, to step back and observe the negative, self-sabotaging behaviours that are holding you back, and learn how to overcome them and move towards a more enlightened version of yourself.

Some of Michael’s key pieces of advice for implementing vertical growth in your life include:

Self-awareness: The essential foundation for vertical growth, without which all the other steps are not possible. Self-awareness gives us the ability to consciously regulate our behaviour. We cannot deliberately live a values-based life, nor can we learn to see, accept and compassionately take accountability for our shadow without first properly developing self-awareness.

Fast brain, slow brain: The fast brain engages the parts of the brain that act impulsively, habitually, and with shortterm comfort in mind. The slow brain, on the other hand, engages parts of the brain that enable us to act with intention and awareness before our fast-brain reflex response takes

over. To shift from our fast to our slow brain, we need to have clear intentions and deliberately choose our values and responses, rather than being held hostage by habitual responses formed in our past.

Find your vertical growth edge: Between our comfort zone and our terror zone is what Michael calls the growth edge. We can become comfortable in patterns that don’t serve us. So, in order to grow again, we first must disrupt our sense of order and move outside of our comfort zone to build a new, more functional order.

Be values-driven: Are your values a living practice? What practices do you use and what actions do you take daily to align with what you stand for? If you need to think about it, then it’s probably not operational in your life.

Commit to daily action: It’s pointless to choose values without a daily commitment to deliberately cultivating that value in action. It’s the daily commitment that gives you the opportunity to notice your habitual fast brain patterns, then to engage the slow brain by consciously regulating out of those patterns into a more values congruent, self-aware state.

The rugged West Coast of the South Island comes into its own during the warm summer months, a utopia for adventure, and experiences like none other.

The Coast boasts 600 extraordinary kilometres of coastline, mountains, lakes, rivers, forests, glaciers, with endless opportunities to get active or just take it slow. Its small towns and friendly locals o er glimpses of the past, and views into the future with old and new heritage projects, interactive experiences, and creative shopping outlets.

Explore the rich and diverse history of gold and greenstone, and learn how it shaped the region. Enjoy good food, boutique brews, and West Coast hospitality. Experience scenic wonders such as glaciers, and Punakaiki’s coastal rock formations. At the end of the day sit on a beach and watch the sun slowly sink below the horizon.

Accommodation options range from hotels, and motels, to bed and breakfast choices, and luxurious lodges, the latter often nestled amidst nature’s wonderlands.

Getting there is easy. Fill up the fuel tank, load up the family, and head out along State Highway 73. Allow three-and-a-half to four hours, with stops on the way.

Every region and most towns have places to go, off the beaten track. The South Island’s West Coast is no different, with a huge variation in activities and exciting historic places to visit, and wildlife to see.

Blackball: South of Greymouth, Blackball is a small town credited as being the birthplace of the New Zealand Labour Party. Gold and coal mining were its foundation industries. Visitors today can check out several places of historical significance such as an old mine site, and the Black-Roa railway line, or head into the bush to walk Croesus Track, an old miners pack trail.

Moana: Situated on the northern shore of Lake Brunner, beside its outflow into the Arnold River, Moana is a base for activities such as fishing, swimming, cycling, and scenic walks. It has its own camping ground, and a lodge for accommodation, plus a store to sort the essentials. Take a trip out there to its annual market day on 2 January, or dig out the clubs and play a round or two at the local golf course.

Jackson Bay: A fishing village with spectacular views of the Tasman Sea and the Southern Alps, Jackson Bay has several good walks in the area, ranging from a 15-minute track to Jackson Viewpoint to a two-day hike inland that returns along the coast. One of only two known areas in South Westland regularly used as a nursery area by the rare Hector’s dolphin females and their calves, it is also a designated a World Heritage Area.

Karamea: A secluded haven north of Westport, Karamea is accessed by a scenic winding road, opening on to beach vistas. The northernmost settlement on the West Coast, Karamea caters for trampers and cavers, birdwatchers and botanists, geologists, mountain bikers, hunters, fishermen, and the more adventurous kayakers and rafters, along with those seeking a family holiday away from it all.

Waiuta: Once the Coast’s third largest settlement, Waiuta is now home to an authentic ghost town, where you can spend a night or two. Near Reefton, no one lives there, and many buildings are in ruins, however due to a volunteer group, and the Department of Conservation, visitors can experience life from times long past.

The West Coast is home to several small towns, all offering their own unique insight into the region.

Reefton has numerous adventure companies, antique shops, craft brewing and distilling companies. Westport, originally named Buller, is the oldest European settlement on the West Coast. Home to rafting, jetboating, and caving activities, its history includes a wealth of gold digging, coal mining, and tourism.

If you’re a racing fan, or just enjoy a good time, head along to the Westport Trotting Club’s Boxing Day and December 28 meetings. On Patterson Street in Westport, the all-weather track ensures two bumper days of action.

A few days later, on 11 January, head to Kumara Racing Club for its iconic Gold Nuggets race day. One of the most popular race meetings in New Zealand, the Kumara Gold Nuggets brings many West Coasters home, along with racing enthusiasts galore, to meet with family and friends. The conviviality and social atmosphere carries on late into the night.

Greymouth is named for Sir George Grey, former governor of New Zealand. Much of its mining and pounamuhunting history is well chronicled in the town’s museum so pop on in and read about it, or visit the Pounamu Pathway centre.

Hokitika is known as one of New Zealand’s hidden gems. Founded as a gold mining town in the gold-rush days, Hokitika is famous for its pounamu (greenstone), whitebait, its gold and coal mining history, and incredible wild scenery. Check out the National Kiwi Centre, Lake Kaniere, the Glow Worm Dell, and nearby town of Blackball.

End-of-year work dos, pre- and post-Christmas catchups with friends and family, and celebratory events – it’s likely you have several of these on your calendar for the coming months. Hospitality venues are becoming increasingly aware of safety needs, and most are making strides in safeguarding their guests. Still, you, and your personal awareness, are your best protector.

Together with Christchurch restaurant Manu, Metropol is driving the fight towards a world where women can enjoy celebrations and occasions without fear. Karen Hattaway, restaurateur and founder of Manu, is shining light on the drink-spiking issue, and implementing proactive measures to protect women within her establishment. “With drink spiking on the rise in New Zealand and anecdotal evidence showing many women feel unsafe in spaces where they should feel secure, it’s vital to remain vigilant, especially as we approach the silly season,” Karen explains.

As part of her mission to foster safety and awareness, Manu o ers free Angel Wing Drink Protector caps. These reusable innovative caps, available at the Cambridge Terrace venue, stretch to fit glasses ranging from 8–11cm, providing a practical solution to help reduce the risk of drink spiking. Karen’s commitment reflects

her dedication to empowering women and creating a safer environment in Christchurch, ensuring everyone can enjoy their time out with peace of mind.

1. Stick with your friends or the group you came with. If you enter a venue together, you leave together. Simple.

2 Be aware of your surroundings, and perhaps flick a text to a friend or family member of where you are heading in advance.

3. Watch for changes in your drink. Excess fizziness, discolouration, cloudiness, and a change in taste can all be indicators your drink has been spiked. However, like anything, these drugs and their perpetrators are becoming sneakier, and sometimes no change will appear at all.

4. Keep your drink near you or ask a trusted friend to watch it when going to the bathroom.

5. Consume food alongside your alcohol, and stick to the recommended legal limit.

6. Keep a Manu drink cover in your handbag, plus a few for your friends. Use these whenever you’re out to avoid unwanted tampering with your drink.

If you suspect an alcohol or drug-assisted sexual assault, call the police (111) immediately.

Ce yClassic compote

Is there anything better in the summer holidays than a big bowl full of cherries? Sweet and with a touch of tart – this juicy fruit is a classic come Kiwi Christmastime.

herry compote, with its balanced flavour profile and rich red colour, is a wonderful utilisation of ripe cherries, saving a few handfuls fresh, of course. It is easy to make and exuberantly enhances any dessert dish. Plus, let’s not forget the blockbuster time the cherry red hue is having lately – a statement-making colour and superb match for Christmas dining.

INGREDIENTS

• 3 cups fresh cherries

• 1/4 cup sugar

• 1/4 cup water

• 2 Tbsp lemon juice

• 2-3 Tsp cornflour

METHOD

1. Wash cherries and remove pits.

2. To a saucepan over medium heat, add cherries, sugar, water, and lemon juice.

3. Simmer for approximately 10 minutes, stirring often, until cherries are soft.

4. Mix cornflour and a few teaspoons of water together to make a watery paste, and slowly stir into the saucepan mixture.

5. Once it reaches your desired thickness (it will thicken slightly more when cooling), remove from heat and allow to cool.

6. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge and enjoy as you please.

CHERRY COMPOTE THREE WAYS

Cherry compote is your summertime bestie, for its versatility in enhancing classic Christmas and social season desserts. Keep it in the fridge to be drizzled over cheesecake, ice cream, muesli, and pancakes.

CHIA PUDDING

From breakfast to dessert, chia seed pudding is an ultimate summer dish. High in fibre and healthy, add cherry compote to a vanilla or chocolate chia pudding base. Garnish with a few fresh cherries, and mint leaves for a Christmas colour scheme.

PAVLOVA

Add whipped cream atop your meringue, before a decadent drizzle of cherry compote. Garnish with fresh or candied cherries.

AMBROSIA

Spin on a classic dessert found on Christmas Day tables nationwide by mixing cherry compote into your ambrosia salad, to give it a unique, deep cherry-infused flavour.

Picnic or platter-style eats are a favourite for poolside or outdoor gatherings, utilising foods in their natural state to be collated on a plate by your guests as they please.

While it screams ‘do it yourself’, it does so beautifully. Colour, texture, and construction of certain elements make a simply stunning presentation. The variety delights picky eaters and dieters, and opens the door to endless flavour combinations. A dramatic presentation that invites no drama beforehand – because it involves just one trip to the supermarket. Pick a few elements, dips, fruit, protein, and carbs, and a few flowers or sweet morsels to scatter atop. Be creative and customise your picnic platter for each event, drawing inspiration from your guests or the time of year.

DIPS: An essential component, dips add texture and variety to your platter. Include three dips as a general rule to please the most mouths, such as the classic Kiwi dip, a relish or chutney, and a hummus.

FRUIT: Take advantage of seasonal fruits and the vibrant colours they present. Slice, dice and arrange thoughtfully, or halve a pineapple, hollow it, and place fruits inside.

Grab

PROTEIN: Meats and cheeses must not be forgotten. Pop a range of soft and firm cheeses in the shopping trolley, along with a selection of meats including salami, prosciutto, ham, and chorizo to add some distinctive flavour.

CARBS: Crackers, breads, and pretzels fill your platter or picnic plates and become what people use to dip, spread, or top. Pick a range for crunchy and soft textures, and find flavours that complement or balance out the other elements you serve.

A toast to tradition

When Louisa Lorenzen met Johan Hansen in the 1860s on the Otago goldfields, she had no idea their romantic story would echo through the ages.

Now, 160 years later, it’s embodied in The Proposal, a liqueur with suspended flakes of gold, symbolising the only gold Johan found, which he used to craft her wedding ring.

After leaving the goldfields, Johan, Louisa, and Johan’s brother Lars, set up a general store in Thames. Subsequent generations branched out into beekeeping while continuing a proud tradition of selling New Zealand products to locals and visitors.

Their legacy continues at Colony, a boutique store at The Crossing in central Christchurch. It combines New Zealand gifts, art, natural skincare, mead, and liqueurs. The store is proud to honour 160 years of retail history.

With the festive season around the corner, it’s timely to support local businesses. Colony prides itself on unique gifts for those hard-to-buy-for people, while its complimentary tastings of mead and liqueurs make choosing a doddle. For those short on time, online sales are available.

With a knowledgeable team and product testers available, stop by to discover why it’s a favourite for both locals and visitors.

Winning

formula

‘Don’t change a winning formula’ is a saying that is hard to argue with. So, if you happen to become the new owner of a wine and pizza bar, you wouldn’t change the award-winning pizzas, right?

That’s exactly the approach that Manpreet Singh and his team have taken at Oxford’s Black Beech Wine and Pizza Bar. This little gem is a North Canterbury favourite where fresh, locally sourced produce, artisanal cheeses, and organic options are available seven days a week.

“We are so lucky to have acquired Black Beech which is a much-loved home away from home for so many, and a wonderful discovery for others passing through,” says Manpreet. “We are keeping everything the same for now, right down to our live music nights and quiz nights.” Knowing a wonderful thing when they see it, they are maintaining the menus too.

The pizza range pays homage to the wonderful setting with evocative names like Mt Somers, Mt Storm, Mt Valient, and Foggy Peak. A children’s menu, lighter bites, and desserts cater to all tastes.

“Our smoked lamb and venison salami pizzas have won national awards,” says Manpreet. “I actually can’t go past the venison pizza myself.”

The words “moonshine” and “bootlegging” conjure up images of illegal stills in the Central Otago goldfields, and the clandestine distribution of distilled alcohol.

There is however nothing clandestine or illicit about the awardwinning “Moonshine” that Tom Finn (pictured) creates at the Herrick Creek Distillery.

Tom’s great-grandfather was a true bootlegger in Canada, so distilling runs in his veins. When Tom immigrated to New Zealand from the home of the maple leaf, he found home distilling is legal, and decided to try his hand using corn grain as his basic ingredient; quite distinctive for New Zealand. It proved successful and after three years of working out of his garage, Tom moved into a bigger production space.

Now the distillery produces small-batch bourbon, whisky, rum, and moonshine, giving a unique Kiwi twist to North American spirits. “We take pride in our artisanal approach to distilling,” says Tom. “I am an ideas man and I like nothing better than experimenting with di erent craft flavours, especially for the moonshine. We’ve created Apple Pie Moonshine, and cinnamon, peach, cherry, maple cream, and feijoa varieties.”

You can purchase Herrick Creek’s moonshine and other spirits including gin, through the website or at the Christchurch Farmers’ Market.

Talking table

home & living etiquette

Table manners are dead. Or are they?

If you think about it from a new angle, many of these rules could be reminders to be present. Putting your phone away, removing distractions like your hat, and taking small bites to chew slower and enjoy your food – these put the people we are with and the meal in front of us in focus.

UK newspaper The Guardian’s Jonathan Jones wrote a piece on the sustenance of table etiquette in 2011, saying “Table manners define the meaning of a meal. Eating is a physical need, but meals are a social ritual.” British Vogue’s Claire Finney argues in a 2024 article that “To pull someone up for leaning a casual elbow on the table as they reach for a few more chips feels as outdated as critiquing them for mishandling a grapefruit spoon.”

For some, avoiding dining etiquette invites a more relaxed, inclusive, enjoyable dinner party.

Whether you think it is a necessary practice or not, Christmas is an opportunity to invite this notion of being present and respecting your meal and guests.

1. Wash your hands before you sit down.

2. Put your phone away.

3. Keep elbows o the table, for good posture.

4. Respect your company by waiting to eat until all are served.

5. Cut small bites of food at a time, and chew slowly.

6. Avoid chewing with your mouth open, or talking while you chew.

7. Use polite language, and say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’.

8. Pass food to your right.

9. Participate in the conversation.

10. Help to clear the table after everyone has finished their meal.

Explore unique ways to present your napkins, through folding or with napkin rings that represent the season.

Tablescapes are such a highlight at dinner parties for me, and the season we’re in is when they truly come to life. Behind every enthralling installation is a considerate creator, and a concept that didn’t just come down the chimney with Santa.

your table runner, consider theme and colour, dimensions such as height and width, and elements that reflect the Christmas décor within your home. Construct circular displays, going as Scandinavian-minimalist or gloriously-maximalist as you like. For garlands, use natural, or faux-natural elements such as pine branches, pinecones, and sprigs of berries, before scattering candles and decorations for warmth.

Cutlery casings: It is the season, so embrace it. Small touches of Christmas flair add a thoughtful, festive feeling for your guests.

living Relaxed

Archaeologists discovered King Tutankhamun had a ‘royal’ wicker chain in his tomb, and there is no reason you can’t experience the same appreciation for wicker furniture. Christchurch company WovenVeranda o ers a captivating selection of stylish, Scandinavian-designed cane furniture from Indonesia.

Charm and durability combine, “We can customise your personal style needs, and transform any living space seamlessly with wicker,” says owner Guy Gunn. “Unwind in an outdoor swing, or indoors on a comfy lounge suite.”

Lean into the Bohemian vibe, invite a relaxed country feel into a spacious setting, or courtyard classic vibe into a busy city lifestyle.

Popularised during the Victorian era, and dating back as early as Ancient Egypt, wicker remains an enduring choice in many modern homes.

Clean lines, timeless comfort, and eclectic flair are bundled into an incredibly versatile indoor or outdoor space. For indoor, specifically grown cane woven on natural rattan tube framing provides durability with a tasteful, contemporary style.

Outdoors, seek the robust range of synthetic UV-stabilised wicker woven onto commercial grade aluminium framing with all-weather durability.

Fendalton architecture wins national design award

Winning a prestigious national architectural design award is quite an achievement, made even better when the project is your own home.

One of two Canterbury projects recognised in the 2024 ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards is this stunning contemporary home by architectural designer Sam Connell of Figure & Ground.

Nestled on Kōtare Street in Fendalton, the build won the National Award for New Home over 300m2. Sam’s own home, it is situated on a compact 645m2 lot, its façade exuding a minimalist charm, concealing the spacious and inviting open plan interior that unfolds towards the tranquil stream at its rear.

The residence sits elegantly on a secluded rear section overlooking the Avon River, and was designed and crafted to meet the evolving needs of a young family.

“The design concept centred on functionality and versatility,” says Sam.

Careful planning addressed challenging stream setbacks while ensuring utmost privacy from the shared driveway and street. Judges noted design features and creative solutions including the clean lines and varied exterior materials of brick and cedar for durability, along with quality craftsmanship. Internally, the integration of built-in joinery, along with timber flooring, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the emphasis on feature lighting adds to the overall ambience, they say.

The main living area, serving as the focal point of the home, and its seamless transition to well designed outdoor areas, also impressed the judges.

“Overall, this dwelling o ers an exquisite blend of contemporary design, functionality, and comfort, making it an ideal sanctuary in the heart of the city,” they noted.

A fresh, new look for your kitchen

Revitalising your kitchen may be as easy as changing its colours, cabinetry, and hardware, to create a modern new look.

Experts in that field are Monique and Murray Turnbull, who are celebrating 36 years of injecting new life into furniture, fittings, and homes.

“Repainting your kitchen can give your home a more modern look and feel for a fraction of the cost of replacing your existing cabinetry or completely renovating your kitchen,” explains Monique.

Initially servicing the furniture and joinery industries as specialist finishers of spray applied coatings, MF Turnbull Ltd has grown threefold since it started, now with three buildings side-by-side, in Mowbray Street, Waltham.

Helping homeowners achieve their dreams, the team has honed their craft in bringing furniture back to life, and also opened a dedicated kitchen refinishing shop, MF Turnbull Kitchen Renewal, in Christchurch.

“We are committed to help you get the best ‘finishing solutions’ for any job. Our experienced team will take the time to listen, advise and guide you to ensure you get the best result,” adds Monique. “When your kitchen is looking outdated, often the first thought you have is that you need to rip out your old kitchen and replace it. The reality is kitchens from 15-20 years ago were built to last and are still functional.”

Know how, can do

MF Turnbull uses a simple yet effective process to refresh kitchens and homes.

Step 1: What’s possible?

The team can refinish almost any kitchen (or furniture) and make it look new again. Send photos of your kitchen for an assessment of what can be done, plus a price estimate for the project.

Step 2: Pricing and planning

They will come and meet you and undertake a full assessment for a quote. The team can also discuss other alterations such as removal of overhead units, changing a cupboard to drawers or new benchtops/handles.

Step 3: Remove, refinish, reinstall

Their specialist team will remove your kitchen and it will be prepared and finished in the company’s modern workshop before reinstalling. Allow a day to remove, and reinstall, and 10-12 days to refinish.

Did you know?

Refinishing, renewing, and refurbishing kitchens is Kitchen Renewals bread and butter, however they can also refurbish other furniture in your home.

CAR EXPERIENCES LUXURY

LGlobal vehicle leader

Lotus Technology is using Amazon Web Services (AWS) to amp up the development of intelligent, luxury car experiences.

otus will use AWS to implement its Vision80 Strategy, a plan to transform the company into a global luxury technology brand by 2028. Ongoing focus will be on luxury vehicles, with concentration on next-generation electric and digital technologies, says vice president Bo Li. Lotus plans to apply AWS technologies to develop connected features, such as autonomous driving solutions, immersive infotainment, and hyper-fast vehicle charging.

The company already runs its ROBO Soul self-driving software stack on AWS, enabling cars and trucks, including its next-generation electric vehicles, to automatically perform tasks such as parking and highway driving.

The company also uses Amazon CloudFront (AWS’s content delivery network) to o er real-time 3D vehicle rendering for personalised customisation and an immersive car-buying experience. This enables it to suggest and preview new model configurations in 3D, showing customers how their cars would look with distinctive accessories, colours, and trim packages, including limited-edition designs.

With the exception of its opulent Maybach variant, the GLS450d and its AMG counterpart represent the zenith of Mercedes-Benz luxury for those wanting space and a smattering of pace.

The GLS450d 4MATIC featured here has been upgraded over the previous generation GLS. We have a 3.0L six cylinder turbo diesel engine with 270kW and 750Nm of torque mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and AWD. Added to this a 48V mild hybrid system which adds extra dollops of power and torque in the region of 15kW/200Nm. This and Mercedes-Benz’s ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) system improves on road e ciency and fuel economy greatly. With the ability to cover 800kms from one tank of diesel, the GLS on paper does present a first-class way to scoot down to Queenstown for a long weekend break.

You will also do such a trip in delightful surroundings with all the on board tech you would expect in an SUV in this price point. My test car came with the optional Rear Comfort Package with dual seat mounted infotainment screens for the rear seat passengers and, wait for it, a built in tablet which can be used to operate all the gadgets without having to budge from those plush ventilated seats. If you decided to drop the third row of seats you get 800L of space. Drop the second row as well and this swells to a gargantuan 2400L.

Moving o and the GLS450d is just sublime. The six-pot with additional support from that 48v battery means you have a mountain of torque to propel you forward, all while the calling card of a six cylinder turbo diesel engine is heard faintly in the background.

Mercedes have completely nailed it when it comes to ride comfort. Its adaptive air suspension gives one of the most soothing rides I have experienced in recent years, but somehow doesn’t let the car feel wayward in the corners. Of course you have some degree of body roll, this is no sports tourer after all, yet it is more than agreeable for long journeys.

The steering is nicely weighted and communicative and while you do feel its size around town and in tight spaces, it shrinks around you as you leave city limits and hit the open road. It tips the scales at a snip over 2.5 tonnes, yet this luxury leviathan can still move, whether in sport mode or not.

It cannot be understated just how much of statement the GLS450d 4MATIC really is, and a darn good one at that.

Finding a Tesla Model S is rare these days, given the number of new Tesla models found in Canterbury. Along with the changing landscape of New Zealand’s aged import legislation, it means the Model S has become highly collectable. Ben Selby reports.

The numbers speak for themselves for the Model S P85D.

Dual electric motors, fore and aft, produce a combined 690Hp and will allow the all-electric P85D to reach 100kph in three seconds. That’s astonishing when you consider this is a sub-$40k car. This is made possible thanks to the immensely capable Insane+ mode which involves coming to a complete stop, firmly pressing the brake with your left foot, pressing the throttle with your right, and releasing the brake once given the all-clear. Hang on for dear life.

With that get-up-and-go, it has the ability to rearrange your fillings. Intense acceleration and its AWD system allow you to devour bendy bitumen with pin-sharp precision. A Tesla Model S like this will not stay a sub $40k car for too much longer. Get yours now at Eyrewell Forest Motor Company.
