“I wanted to do in Camaçari a social works. I wanted to make a difference by working to social inclusion for many people. “That was the desire by Luiz Carlos Caetano in 2005, when he the first term as mayor. Culture and art The art in the center of social transformations. Thus the coordination of culture and Art Cidade do Saber (COART) develops its activities in multidisciplinary nature towards the integral formation of the citizen. The courses and workshops serve as a tool to stimulate creativity and critical thinking, making with the student expand their horizons and grow new growth opportunities. Here, children, youth, adults, elderly people in and individuals with special needs find a new way to understand and transform reality through of art, becoming an agent multiplier.

Sports and Leisure Aimed at social inclusion of children, youth, adults and senior citizens, the coordination of Sports and Recreation (CODEL) working with activities that complement and foster the development of practice sports, both for socializing as for Improving quality of life. With the support of qualified coaches, the techniques have already undertaken the training of athletes with emphasis in the state and the country in activities such as karate, boxing and volleyball. Besides the entertainment production, the proposal to promote health and welfare for pupils of old age or with a physical impairment, through lessons in swimming, gymnastics and water aerobics. Gym Sports are available for the schools classes, training, competitions and tournaments. Has official court in size, and bleachers to 700 people. The complex has swimming pool with Olympic size as well.
.Activities School Sports initiations - For students between 6 and 16 years, groups of up to 35 students and classes twice in week. Health Promotion - Water activities, adult swimming, morning gymnastics are intended to contribute, through the health benefits, improve the quality of life and welfare of the population of Camaรงari.
Education Prepare and support teachers to ensure that artistic and cultural activities and sports are permeated for shares of education for citizenship. These are the main goal of the Coordination of Education (COEDU). The mission is to plan, discuss, implement and monitor of systematic way, all projects / activities of the Cidade do Saber. Responsible for the registration, the Coordination try to monitors the student’s frequency and ensuring the best service to students. The COEDU is also responsible for preparing projects workers and strengthen the approach to the public schools of the municipality, ensuring access for children and young people enrolled in the public network education.

A new situation has developed in the Bahia artistic scenario since the construction of the City Theater of Knowledge. The Local inaugurated a new phase of expansion of production art by the State, opening up space for large mounted Camaçari could reach and to Camaçari could produce their own shows. In 2009 the Cidade do Saber opened a new stage. The program contribution Citizen came to promote a change in a collective participation, increasing the degree of interaction with the community. The contribution Citizen is a new stage of registration. Now, the student (over 18 years) or the person responsible for students (under 18) will have the chance to register for work as a volunteer in the project or hold a donation (symbolic value and option). With that news, Cidade do Saber students has to be even more narrow its ties with the project itself and the pass their knowledge on. And the process is very simple: who decides if volunteer fills a plug in registration, telling in which function, days and shifts will help. It is noteworthy that the contribution Citizen is an opportunity for the most camaçarienses to integrate the Cidade do Saber. The more the community is part of the project, plus the Cidade do Saber the community and will be sealing project as highly social.

Camaçari”
The party held the night of March 27, the Cidade do Saber received the trophy “Pride of Camaçari,” award designed and promoted by newspaper News and online Camaçari decided by vote through the Internet. One example was the advent of banking examiner’s Bolshoi Ballet school in which eight children selected for the final step in Joinville (SC). Of the 550 children in the country, only 50 would be incorporated into the Bolshoi. From the Cidade do Saber passed through the exam, Erika, Alexandre, Daiane and Rodrigo. A social house was mounted in Joinville for the students and parents as well. Another big thrill was won by the athletes of karate Paloma Nunes, Brazilian champion and South American vice-champion. In volleyball, a partnership with Braskem allows using the method Unisul, teachers sent by the ex-player Brazilian National Team, Giovane Gavi - the “Gigi”. Partnerships for success, as established with the school of languages CNA and Ebateca, are also highlights. The Cidade do Saber Theater became instrumental in the promotion of art and culture.
