The State Government has capitalized the competitiveness of each of our regions, while at the same time looking for new options to broaden the productive platform and increase the number of formal labor sources.

In the extensive territory of 152 thousand square kilometers of Coahuila there are 38 municipalities spread out in five regions with different locations according to their geography, history, customs and productive vocation.

- In the northern border: Industry and exports.

- In the Carboniferous region: Mining and manufacturing.

- In the Central Desert: Steel production and mining.

- In the Laguna region: Agriculture, mining, food, textile and solar energy industries.

- And in the Southeast region: The automotive cluster and the pharmaceutical company.

Based on this potential, the State Government, municipalities, businessmen and citizens have created a virtuous circle in terms of productive investment. Nowadays, we are one of the safest states in the country, the second largest exporter and the third highest competitive state in the country.

The friendly and reciprocal collaboration among the state powers has led to sustain the framework of legality, social balance and the state of law that ensures the proper course of any investment, commerce or business.

By means of consensus, dialogue and cooperation among authorities, businessmen and trade associations, we have succeeded in preserving employment, gradually and steadily raising production

standards, as well as strengthening labor stability and peace of mind.

We rely on highly qualified and prepared labor to meet the requirements of today's industry and cutting-edge technology.

We are conveniently located in Mexico's most important maritime ports and the northern border with the United States.

The integration of Coahuila into the Northern Economic Corridor is one of our main strategic projects, which is the reason for the current construction of the highway and logistics infrastructure of international standards that will facilitate the transit of heavy cargo between the port of Mazatlán and the cities of Acuña and Piedras Negras.

This Corridor will also help strengthen another important economic axis: Ports to Plains; a T-MEC strategy which includes land connectivity between Mexico, the United States and Canada.

For all the above reasons, it is our top priority to provide quality infrastructure in every industrial park throughout our regions. Our goal is to boost their potential and increase their capacity for all types of business development. As well as creating new spaces, we have also carried out extensive work to reinforce and modernize services, accesses and communication routes.

Our 96 industrial parks provide a suitable environment for companies from a wide range of industries to begin operations or continue with their expansion projects. They also serve as areas of opportunity for the mobility of products, goods, services and workers, thus contributing to the cohesion of the local supply chain.

This brochure is part of our effort to promote economic development by promoting a wide range of possibilities and competitive strengths that are part of these industrial parks.

We are confident that this document will be essential in the process of evaluation of factibility and will ratify the confidence of entrepreneurs, both domestic and foreign, to arrive or increase their operations in our territory.

The Ministry of Economy is responsible for the coordination of programs and actions that lead to more and better investments for our state, as well as to promote balanced development in the five regions of the state based on the sectors with the greatest competitive advantage.

According to the State Development Plan 2017-2023, we are working to ensure that global companies from global strategic sectors such as the automotive, energy, aerospace, agri-food and metal-mechanical sectors continue to arrive in our territory, with the resulting direct and indirect job creation that requires skilled labor.

As a result, all regions are equally important for their contribution to Coahuila’s development. We are proud to say that stronger regions and higher levels of production raise the standards of growth and wellbeing throughout the state.

According to the recent evaluations of the official rating agencies, even with the challenges of the pandemic, Coahuila holds historical records in all indicators favoring development and growth.

With our competitive conditions, we are currently the number one pro ducer of transportation equipment and national leader in the export of auto parts. Over 1.2 million engines are produced annually in Coahuila at the General Motors and Stellantis assembly plants.

In 2022, construction began on the first auto parts supplier plants of the new automotive cluster, which will create several thousand jobs and provi de economic spillover to all regions.

We also rank second nationwide in the mining and metallurgical in dustry in employment and are number one producer of minerals such as sulfate, bismuth, cadmium, and iron ore. Worldwide, we are the largest producer of refined silver.

Coahuila also accounts for 95% of Mexico’s coal reserves. We ac count for 13% and 8% of the national potential in wind energy and solar resources.

We have become one of the most important food industries in the country and the largest and most modern brewery in Mexico, as well as the largest avocado processor in the world.

Coahuila is one of the states with the greatest economic dynamism post-pandemic crisis and one of the first to restore the lost jobs during the critical phase of the contingency. Since 2018, our state has ave raged 3.3 new investment projects arriving in Coahuila every month.

By joining forces and pooling resources with local governments, we work to ensure that new and existing industrial parks have adequate location, connection and mobility conditions, as well as modern infras tructure, urban equipment and quality services to guarantee their long life. Particular attention has been given to providing them with spaces and offices that make use of state-of-the-art technology.

The main purpose of this report is to connect the 114,465 compa nies in Coahuila with all the citizens, small and medium-sized entre preneurs so that we can be part of the supply chain established by the TMEC from July 1, 2027, in which 70 and 75% dependent on the raw material, must be made up of regional components. This creates a universe of opportunities for Mexico and above all for our State of Coahuila.

This report provides information on all the companies already ope rating, as well as the material required to be provided by regional su ppliers, in the hope that everyone will have the opportunity to increa se economic development and growth, thus improving the quality of life of all citizens.

By issuing this catalog in printed and digital format, we also aim to broaden the spaces for turning ideas into business; to create greater interaction among entrepreneurs and facilitate the exchange of expe riences; and to learn from the best practices for competitiveness.
