“Chromatic Threshold” explores the delicate balance between color, light, and the expansive landscapes that inspire Weckbach’s artistic practice. Having recently relocated to Santa Fe, Kevin’s work has taken on new dimensions, drawing from the vibrant, ever-changing light of the Southwest. This body of work is a meditation on color’s transformative potential, where subtle shifts and contrasts evoke a deep sense of place and atmosphere.
Weckbach’s paintings navigate the threshold between realism and abstraction, capturing fleeting moments of beauty and turning them into timeless visual experiences. “Moving to Santa Fe has heightened my sensitivity to the landscape’s chromatic subtleties,” Kevin shares. “I’m fascinated by how light interacts with color here—how a single shift can transform the entire mood of a scene.”
