SILVIA TOLEDO MARKETING ACCOUNT MANAGER THE LYCRA COMPANY My name is Silvia, marketing manager from the Lycra Company. It’s the first time that we have participated in the Expo & we have found it very interesting. The show is very dynamic, we are developing our market in Bangladesh and we are participating as it is a great opportunity to present our products here. Bangladesh Denim Expo is a great fair, bringing people from different places in the denim industry together, here in Bangladesh. We very much appreciate the organization of this event, are happy to participate and, for sure, we will come back again!

NILGUN BASKAN MANAGING DIRECTOR REALTEKS I’m from Realteks in Turkey and this is our first time at Bangladesh Denim Expo. I am responsible for the sales’ and purchasing teams. As a company we are investigating the market by participating in the event, to meet with suppliers and customers and to check the market capabilities. Bangladesh is improving a lot. I have been in the denim business for the last 25 years and for the last 10 years focussing on the Bangladesh market. The country is building brands more directly than before and constantly improving, with European & Turkish knowhow and will grow in importance as a global production hub, which is why we are happy being at the Expo. It is a pleasure to be a participant and thanks for organizing the event!

I am extremely happy, very proud and excited to be attending Bangladesh Denim Expo. I am also proud that Bangladesh has now some of the largest denim mills. In 1994 Beximco put up the first denim mill in Bangladesh and today everywhere I go, world class denim is being produced in the country. I think the Expo is terrific to showcase the progress that Bangladesh has made and bring together fabric, machinery and garment suppliers from around the world. The Expo offers a great learning experience and, even today, I have learnt a lot! So, my best wishes. I am very proud of Mostafiz for making this possible, and I hope that, inshallah, the Expo will continue to grow.

MR. MIRAN ALI MANAGING DIRECTOR BITOPI I must thank Denim Expert Ltd. and Bangladesh Apparel Exchange for arranging the Fashionology Summit and Bangladesh Denim Expo, once again, in Bangladesh.. The Expo has become one of the premier destinations for the sourcing of denim material for people who want to study this area of fashion and it has become a huge asset for the country. As a company we are using the Expo as a base from where we can source our fabrics, where we can meet new customers and, at the same time we are using it to promote Bangladesh as a destination for making premium denim products.

SABINE KÜHNL EDITOR-IN-CHIEF SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL I had a really good time at Bangladesh Denim Expo because I think it was a great event and to see exhibitors from around the world, especially from Bangladesh. It’s always a great experience to find out what innovation are around, the latest in sustainability and what is going on in the denim business in Bangladesh. I think Bangladesh is always worth visiting, not only for its fashion industry, but because it is such a wonderful country. I came here 2 years ago and I can see, on the street, that many things have changed. There is so much going on and I think it’s a country with such great potential. I wish more people would travel here and see for themselves how heart-warming the people are!

Thank you for asking me my comments about the Expo. People used to say that Bangladesh is a king without a kingdom.. I would ay that we don’t need to have a kingdom, because we have people, who are the real asset. So, if you have the right product today, who is going to make it? It is the people, and we in Bangladesh are blessed with a talented selection of people, that is our country’s asset.

MR. DIRK A LEHMANN PUBLISHING DIRECTOR & SALES DIRECTOR SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL Hi everybody, I am Dirk from Sportswear International Magazine. I have been coming to Bangladesh Denim Expo since it first started and it is fantastic to see the great development of the show and the impact it has had on the Bangladesh denim industry. It’s getting more international, more specified on the denim area and on sustainability & transparency everything is open. Manufacturers and buyers come from all over the world and have a great time. Everybody at the Expo is very motivated and the event shows the country at a very high international level. Everybody should come here because anyone who is not here is really missing something!.

ANNA- LAURE HENRY- GREARD PROGRAMME MANAGER BETTERWORK It’s a great event and a fantastic opportunity to showcase the denim industry in Bangladesh and the latest innovation in terms of denim. The Expo is extremely well organized Mostafiz is very innovative and inventive. He always tries to bring together the stakeholders in the garment industry to look at the latest innovation and to look at how to make the garment industry more sustainable. There has been a lot of progress in sustainability in the garment industry and how Bangladesh is perceived in the world over the last few years and this is particularly thanks to this sort of event. I am very happy to be here and be hearing about the latest innovations and technologies available in the industry.

I’m Roger From H&M and I’m in charge of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ethiopia & Africa. I have been coming to the Expo since its inception. In the beginning it was a very small organization, with only a small number of people attending. Today it has grown, and it has become the attraction of the Bangladesh apparel industry. In my view, over the last five years Denim Expo has served its purpose very well. It has raised the interest globally in the nation’s denim industry and it has raised the level of sustainability as an important topic throughout the industry. I think Mostafiz and his team have done a fantastic job.

It’s a great event that has been introduced & initiated by Mr. Mostafiz Uddin & his team. Bangladesh Denim Expo is introducing Bangladesh to the world in a positive manner & it shows the capabilities of the Bangladesh apparel industry, specifically in the field of denim. A lot of advances in technology are coming to Bangladesh and being adopted by manufacturers in their day to day operations which have helped increase efficiency & innovation. It’s good see the younger generations seeing the products on display and it is very helpful for them to learn the advances in the about denim industry. Lots of foreign exhibitors are here, proving the growing importance of Bangladesh as a denim exporting country.

ANN RUNNEL CEO REVERSE RESOURCES I am the CEO of Reverse Resources a company that traces the waste from production through to recycling and I am really happy to see that recycling is really being thought about here at the Expo. There is so much to see being offered by producers that contained recycled elements and I am really glad to see that. The circular economy is becoming a really huge topic globally and it is a topic that deserves a lot of attention. To see how the denim industry is catching up and starting to move that way is really inspiring for me. The Expo is a really good opportunity to discuss all the initiatives and bring people together. We can learn from each other and think how we can work together to realise a circular economy. I am really grateful for the opportunity to be here in Bangladesh.

FABIENNE VAN DER WEIDEN CO-FOUNDER LABELEDBY Today was the first time that I have visited Bangladesh Denim Expo. I think the event is amazing because it provides a place for the exhibitors to show their latest developments and for visitors who can come and be informed. The panel discussions are most informative and, as the topics are on subjects regarding circularity and sustainability, I think they are addressing the most critical issues facing the industry right now. I really enjoyed my time today and will definitely come back. I love Bangladesh!

MR. PETRI ALAVA CEO INFINITED FIBER Bangladesh Denim Expo is a great place for foreign visitors to come and meet Bangladesh denim suppliers as well as international companies. It is a great environment and victors can see first hand the innovations and developments that are being showcased and learn about what companies are developing to diversify the whole industry. Come and join the show!

WINDE RIENSTRA FASHION DESIGNER WINDE RIENSTRA I came to Bangladesh Denim Expo today and I am really pleased to be here and learn about the sustainable initiatives here in Bangladesh. I think it’s very cool that there is so much thought given to sustainability and it shows the progress the country has made. I wasn’t aware how innovative the factories here are and it is great to learn about their capabilities and to get to know the people and hear how important sustainability is to them. I really like the hospitality of the Bangladeshi people and how friendly they are, smiling in the streets and always helpful. It is really lovely to be here.

The world is now looking for sustainable washes and sustainable product & Bangladesh Denim Expo provides the perfect platform.
