THe Market Bangladesh is – after China – the second largest exporter of jeans to the EU market and No.3 for the US. Around 400 factories are exporting nearly 180 million pieces of denim jeans to the world. The industry presently has 25 denim producing factories with
total investment of over $834 million. The monthly production of denim stands at 30 million yards per month. Bangladesh’s RMG sector exports garments to over 132 countries around the world and employs 4.4 million people.
Corporate Social Responsibility The BANGLADESH DENIM EXPO is a Non-Profit enterprise and operates from a platform of responsibility. The show’s aim is not only to promote the denim trade in Bangladesh, but also to encourage better business practice to raise the living standards of the people in this country. Any surplus funds from the show will be donated to a seed fund for a Denim University in Bangladesh. Already the organizers are building links with educators and experts around the world to make these seeds bear fruit. Ultimately this benefits everyone who trades in this country.
