Lofting curves

Lofting 2 Curves

Lofting 3 Curves

Lofting 4 Curves

Week 2

Arcs & Geometry Projection

Projecting Surface

Creating Curves and Lofting them, after that contour lines were created to split the curves into linear segments. The Contour lines were then projected onto the x&y plane to finaly loft these porjected lines back to the curve creating these segments.

This was done to help us understand the process and though for fabricating curves and lofted surfaces.

Transform

This began by loftin two curves together to create a surface to work with. While working on that I also began developing a mesh using polygons. The mesh I created was in the layout of a square with 3 traiangles meeting in the centere with one missing serveing as a gap to play around with the shadows and light. SurfaceBox was divided based on a domain then linked to the lofted curve. The surface box would serve as a guidline for where the meshes would be placed. The created mesh was box morphed then finaly attached to the surface boxes creating this geometry. This excercise was very handy, I can see myself using this type of Box Morph as I am developing my design. The only struggle I can think of at the moment would be design a complex enough Mesh that accounts for fixings and oppeningts.

Week 3

fabrication exercise

Patterning List

This excirse was aimed to introduce us to pattern listings. Voronoi tool was used to create this pattern after linking it to the points of a divided surface. I created various itteration by playing around with teh cell counts and ranges of the number sliders. Even by altering a numerical value by a factor of one, the pattern changed significantly. I had some issues with triming the lines after extruding the frame.

The Cull tool was used to join the voronoi lieworks together and allowed for this pattern to be created and funtion.

Week 4

fabrication exercise

Patterning List

Creating a Tetrahydra on Rhino

Creating a Tetrahydra on Grasshopper was much easier as a simple exprettion (pythagorus thearom) created the shape for me The triangles were then scalled down and trimed the large ones to create this geometry. This was then reapeted to cte more trims

I experimented with the number slider of the segments, radius and scale factor to understand their relationships.

Scale Factor

Scale Factor Changing the number of segments and the factor so that the polygons are just touching. THis creates a gap in between and a hollow structure.

tree.gh

For this excercie i played arond with th number sliders relating to the tree count, scale factor, Z-coordinante, and pipe radius

Week 5

more fields

Evaluating Fields

This excercise was to introduce us to evaluating fields and point charges. After divided the curves and linking them the point charge tool; I merged the fields and finaly creating field lines. Circles had to be created around each point charge as well.

Graphing Section Profile

Graph mapper was used to create a 3D dimentional plane

Week 6

data trees

Tree Stats & Dimensions

Creating Planar Surface on Rhino. I then used surface devide after linking the surface on Grasshopper.

Grafting and Simplifying the Devided surface points. After that, the points were moved along the Z axis based on a series. Labeling the poits was done by using the Tree Statistics tool and the then attaching it to the Text Tag Tool
