This season I am so thrilled with the fashion and whimsy feel that I have decided to do a real spring clean of my wardrobe, that means no more ‘one day will be skinny like when I was twelve clothes’, no more fat clothes and no more ‘maybe it will come in back in fashion one day’ draws. Instead I am going to say good bye entirely to all of it and start with a fresh new wardrobe.

Spring is by far the best season of the year, although it has been a tad chiller this year, the winter warmers have stayed out a month longer then what i would’ve liked. The beautiful blooming flowers, baby animals, gardening, planting and most of all sunny days, the reintroduction of tees, skirts and thongs. Welcoming all the new into your world.

An amazing fashion filled, fun and fantastic year, Italy’s fashion shows, history, art and culture and then more recently LA where the world’s most fashion forward trendsetters reside, and Las Vegas the city that never sleeps. The fashion industry is one that will forever evolve and change and I am continuously grateful for every opportunity.

A successful, eventful and bountiful year filled with new opportunities and many new starts. Love the diversity, exploring marketing opportunities for Oranges and Lemons Boutique. Fashion for kids continues to intrigue me, so much more fun than adult fashion for me.

the editor The moment winter turns to spring, a surge of excitement begins. The anticipation of fabulous weather later days, summer fruits, good old fashioned Aussie BBQ , holidays and of course the hope of new things to come. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s beginning to sound alot like Christmas lyrics begin to circle my mind, shop windows and colors brighten streets everywhere. Christmas Decorations draped over our city centers, the seasons are changing the thoughts of cold slowly disappear from our thoughts and the sunshine warms begins to warm our hearts minds and bodies. The reflections, unexpected changes and lost or found dreams of the past year settle in our minds. Mostly this time of year is a time of joy, frantic Christmas lists and dinners to consider the festive season has begun and we hope to start a little part of it right here. craft & fun for the kids Eggshell Flowerpots Young gardeners can use eggshells as pots to start seeds and coffee-stirrer tags to foretell what will pop up where. Plant seeds according to package instructions, and nestle planters in an egg carton on a sunny windowsill, where they can be watered easily. The first leaves to sprout will be the cotyledons or seed leaves, which supply nutrients to the young plant until the first true leaves (resembling those of the parent plant) appear. When plants have grown to about 3 inches and have at least two sets of true leaves, they are ready to be transplanted to the garden. Bottle Terrariums Terrariums are easy to assemble and donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t require much maintence. Let kids choose their favorite succulents, then place the terrarium in a spot where everyone can enjoy it. Sprinkle an inch of cactus soil in a clean glass bottle. Divide the succulents into single-stem plantlets, each with roots. Using chopsticks, place the plantlets in the bottle one at a time. Use the chopsticks again to nestle each plantlet into the soil. Once the plants are situated, keep them indoors and out of direct sunlight. Snow Globes The shimmering magic of snowfall is always transfixing, whether it’s outside your window or inside this classic toy. Homemade globes let you create a wintry scene straight out of your own imagination. Almost any jar works for this project: Baby-food, pimiento, and olive jars are good choices. Look for plastic or ceramic figurines (metal ones are prone to rust) at flea markets and hobby or model-railroad shops. Synthetic evergreen tips are available at many floral-supply stores. If the jar lids are not in seasonal colors already, paint them with oil-based enamel paint. Sand the inside of the lid until the surface is rough. With clear-drying epoxy, adhere the figurine to the inside of the lid, and let the epoxy dry. Fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water; add a pinch of glitter and a dash of glycerin (available at drugstores) to keep the glitter from falling too quickly. Don’t add too much, or the glitter will stick to the bottom of the jar when it’s flipped. Screw on the lid tightly, being careful not to dislodge the figurine. Snowflake Lights Create an idealized winter wonderland indoors using snowflake-like bouquet holders and a string of holiday lights. About Leslie from the Creative Mint Hi - my name is Leslie and I recently moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver Island, Canada where I grew up. I started my blog, A Creative Mint, to share and store my little projects and photographs. I am interested in all aspects of design, from collage and watercolors to architecture and cooking! I have both a degree in Architecture and Interior Design. However, I never really practiced either. Add egg and mix until well combined. Sift flour and baking powder over butter mixture. Add milk and stir until just combined. Cut desired shapes. 3. B ake for 12 to 15 minutes, swapping trays over in oven after 10 minutes, or until light golden. Allow cooling on trays for 5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Reindeer Cupcakes Ingredients: + 3 Large Eggs + 1 Cup Caster Sugar + 125G Unsalted butter + 1 ¼ Self Raising Flour + ½ Cup of Milk + 1 tsp Vanilla essence Icing: + 200g Butter + 200g Icing Sugar + 50g of cocoa add more if desired + 20ml of milk (optional) + Red m&m peanuts + Halved pretzels + 100g of milk chocolate melted

1. P re Heat Oven to 180 degree. 2. P lace butter and sugar in bowl and cream, add one egg at a time and beat until they are fully mixed in. 3. A dd self raising flour, milk and vanilla essence, beat on high for 2 minutes. 4. Cook for 10 – 12 minutes. 5. T o make icing soften butter and beat until smooth and creamy, slowly add icing sugar until all mixed. Then add cocoa and milk, mix until smooth. 6. R emove cupcakes from the oven and allow to cool on wire rack before icing. 7. C over cupcake with chocolate butter icing, pipe eyes on then stick a red peanut m&m as the nose then melt the chocolate in the microwave cover the halved pretzels with chocolate put pretzels on the top of the cake as the reindeer. White Christmas Slice Makes 24 Prep: 15 minutes | Cook: 30 minutes Ingredients: + 1 cup powdered milk + 1 cup rice bubbles + 1 cup icing sugar + 1/2 cup desiccated coconut + 1 cup mixed dried fruit + 250g copha, melted and cooled off + 2 teaspoons vanilla essence + 4 cloves of garlic chopped 1. Mix all the dry ingredients together, then add the melted copha and vanilla and mix in. 2. Pour into a slice tin or baking tray lined with baking paper and press the mixture evenly into the tray. 3. Spice Biscuits Makes 12 Prep: 15 minutes | Cook: 30 minutes Ingredients: + 2 tbs treacle + 75g unsalted butter + 250g plain flour + 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda + 1 tsp ground cinnamon + 1/2 tsp ground ginger + 50g caster sugar + 1 egg, beaten + 20ml (1 tbs) milk 1. Preheat oven to 170째C. 2. Melt treacle and butter in a small saucepan. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and ginger in a bowl. 3. Add a good pinch of salt and a grinding of black pepper. Stir in sugar and the treacle mixture, then add the egg and beat until combined. 4. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out on a lightly floured surface and use decorative cutters (we used star shapes) to cut shapes from the pastry.

5. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool. (To use biscuits as a gift decoration, use a wooden skewer to make a hole in each biscuit before baking. 6. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven re-open where the indent for the hole is by again using the skewer.) 7.
