Germany: Minimalism

Less is more Mies van der Rohe Minimalism in the arts began in post-WWII Western Art, most strongly with American visual arts in the 1960s and early 1970s. Prominent artists of this style are Dora Judd, Dan Flavinor, Anne Truit. Minimalism is a trend in design, architecture and arts in general wherein the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalistic design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditions. Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adopted the motto "Less is more" to describe his aesthetic tactic or arranging the numerous necessary components of a building to create an impression of extreme simplicity by enlisting every element and detail to serve multiple visual and functional purposes.

Finland: Emotions Your intellect may be confused, but your emotions will never lie to you. Robert Ebert I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success.. such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything. Nicola Tesla Genius is the ability to renew one's emotions in daily experience. Paul Cezanne

Croatia : Nature

I often wished I could capture and share the sudden moments of beauty that I would see all around me. Caroline Mueller

Nature photography refers to a wide range of photography taken outdoors and devoted to displaying natural elements such as landscapes, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes and textures. Nature photography tends to put a stronger emphasis on the aesthetic value of the photo than other photography genres, such as photojournalism and documentary photography.

Turkey : Freelensing

“He carefully picked his cast of clouds, watched them intently as they swirled in before the lens and hoped the sun would break in concert” H.E. Clark “Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera” Yousuf Karsh

As photographers and in turn artists, we are constantly searching for new ways to invigorate our art and revitalize our passion for it. Sometimes this need to create something new and different causes us to try out unconventional and potentially ill-advised methods. Freelensing is one of these sometimes applauded, sometimes frowned upon practices which provides visually interesting photographs that are hard to recreate in any other fashion. But it also has its risks… (…) When your lens is properly attached to your camera body the depth of focus runs parallel to your camera. What that means is the depth of focus runs linearly across your photograph. –(…) When you are freelensing, the in focus area is no longer neatly arranged. Instead it is bent, depending on the amount of angle of lens tilt you are utilizing. (…) Freelensing is by nature a trial and error process. Doing it leads to results, either good or bad, and those adjustments are made from there but the basic mechanics are as follows: · Mount the lens you intend to use on your camera. · Set to manual mode. · Metter and set all of your settings. · Switch your lens to manual focus and set the focus to infinity · Turn off your camera. · Detach the lens. · Turn your camera back on. · Pull the lens away from the body in the spot · Focus and take the shot. Close the gap and review. From there you can adjust your settings and lens position to achieve your wanted effects. David Peterson

Spain: Movement in sport We photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing, and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth can make them come back again. We cannot develop and print a memory. Henri CartierBresson We have all at one time or another been captivated by sports images. It may be Kirk Gibson's World Series Homerum, and the image of him running the bases, overcoming the pain he was in or an image of high flying Michael Jordan slam during a basketball with his tongue out. We have all been captured in the momentum of human drama (...) You can only photograph things you can see. The closer you are to someone, the better you can see them. Sports are no different. You have to get as close to what you are shooting as you can. (...) Sports and Action photography is all about timing. Its about reacting. Its about being in the right place at the right time and its about execute. These are all qualities of the athlete and those of the photographer as well. Each sport has predictable and unpredictable moments.(...) By knowing these moments you can anticipate the action. This helps in two ways, one it helps you with focus (...) and secondly, it helps you snap the shutter at the right time. The saying goes "if you see the action you missed it". Rob Miracle

Poland: Water

Water is the driving force of all nature Leonardo da Vinci

Water in photography makes for a very interestng subject, and the different forms it can take are incredibly vast. Whether it's a waterfall, waterscape, seascape, river, lake, water droplet, or due droplet, it's all made up of the same elements. From dramatic coasts to serene lakes, water photography can help us learn how to take stunning pictures. We can look at freezing water movement and suggest ways to capture the power and detail in crashing waves, setting up our camera for waterfall pictures and other fast-flowing water. From crashing waves to crystal-clear reflections, there are loads of ways that water can add impact and interest to our images, whatever we shoot. For example, flowing water can add a lovely sense of movement to landscape photography.
