LOCATIONS - Yarra Bend Park is very close to built up parts of Melbourne
- Our site visit started near Kanes Bridge and the boat house in the southern end of the park. - We crossed the bridge and followed a track along the river heading towards Dights Fall.
- The Eastern Freeway has an overpass that cuts through the park. - Collingwood backs right onto the park near Dights Fall with new apartment blocks.

GEOLOGY - At Dights Fall we observed exposed sedimentary rock bedding

- Sandy loam soil
- Folding and faulting of fine grain sediments (Group Research)
- Soil with gravel clay loam

- Basalt enscarpment along the Merri Creek

Dight Falls - Work is being done to allow fish to swim upstream. - On the day of the site visit it was overcast and raining. Which is typical of the cold fronts associated with this time of the year. - 1.6 mm of Rainfall on the day of the Site Visit - The maximum temperature for the day was 16.5ยบC Data from the Bureau of Meteorology (http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/data/?ref=ftr)
- Salt content of the Water at Dights Falls was 0.17

Merri Creek - Slow moving with a larger presence of wildlife, particularly water birds. - The Salt Content of Merri Creek was 0.17
