To me it doesn’t matter what tempo the beat is, I put my soul into whatever I’m creating. My inspirations are mainly classic artist and great literature & God.

We have watched your transition, from a young man to a established musician, We want to know what you have learned the most through working in the Music industry? the biggest artist in the world as well as some up and coming new artist. But I can’t give up all the details yet. What was the biggest obstacle you faced during your road to success? Negative people who had no faith. You have to not spend time on getting them to see your vision. Because they’ll only believe once it happens. So I learned to focus all my energy in walking in my purpose.

When it comes to my songwriting, I don’t really like to broadcast that because it’s more a behind the scenes type of job. The goal is to make the artist I’m writing for shine.

I’ll pick one from both. In the states I’d have to say Kanye, and in the UK, I’d say Tinie Tempah, I like his music.

Which artists can we find on your ‘Download’ list? On my ‘download’ list at the moment you would find Radiohead, Jay-Z & Kanye, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, & Marvin Gaye. What’s the best and worst thing about embarking on a career in the music idustry? The best thing is being able to express you thoughts, feelings, and beliefs with the world. The worst thing would be not being able to spend much time with my family and loved ones, because my hours and schedule can be demanding. Can we expect to hear some new music from yourself soon? I’am working on several different projects. I releasing later this year. I have a few projects that I’m extremely excited about. Been working some of 4GHI5J8K@

Nuflex Mag is dedicated to young individuals starting out and supporting them, what would you advice a young singer just starting out in the music industry.? Keep God first. RIVER ISLAND HER WORK WEAR

Working nine to five every day is stressful enough, withour having to add the pressure of figuring out what to wear. When your dressing up for work, you don’t want to stand out like a sore thumb among the grey pencil skirts and crisp white shirts, yet you want to inject some fashion and colour into your work wardrobe right? I am here to solve your work wear problems with the help of high street favourite River Island. Pack up your pinstriped skirt suit and throw away the key, and instead slip into this pink colour-block peplum dress. The River Island creation is ladylike and office friendly with just that pop of colour you need to brighten up the office. If your off to a meeting slip on a printed scarf to give a more professional look. Every woman knows that it’s the shoes that make an outfit and when it comes to deciding what shoes to wear to the office you need to think: Are you going to be walking a lot to and from meetings or is it a quiet day at the desk? Either way you need to look professional but feel attractive at the same time. And these baby Pink sling backs from the River Island shoe collection are perfect. The heel is high enough to make you feel ladylike but they are also sensible so you don’t need to worry about tipping over as you walk down the stairs on the coffee run. Any outfit needs a gorgeous bag to complete the look and I am going all out with pretty in pink. Grab yourself this coral croc tote bag in River Island it fits all you daily essentials and adds that well put together touch to your office ensemble. 4GHI5J8KN

H&M HIS WORK WEAR When it comes to men in the office there needs to lay a balance, you don’t want to go all top and tails but you want to look smart and presentable at the same time right? Well here is how you solve that problem. First get yourself down to H&M then think: I need an outfit I can wear to work but also something I can wear after hours when I’m with the lads. H&M are great for achieving that smart/casual, preppy vibe with outfits and these Navy blue chinos are perfect, and they look almost like Teflon suit trousers so they are easy to dress up or down. Add this sky blue shirt to your outfit and your half way there, the outfit up to here is perfect when you are out of the office with your friends. But if you need to dress it up a bit throw on this brown tailored jacket over the shirt and trousers and you are ready for a day at the office. You don’t need a two piece suit to look smart, you just need the right mix with your outfit and adding a blazer to any outfit will automatically dress it up even if you’re wearing jeans. Lastly you need to think about your shoes, and shoes really tell a lot about a guy so choose your shoes wisely. I suggest these blue lace ups from the H&M collection under trousers they don’t look far off dress shoes (Not women’s dresses, going out sort of shoes.) so they are perfect to wear at the office the design at the toe of the shoe adds that smart, put together look during working hours. Once your out of the office though roll up the chino’s to show the laces and your back to a casual look. It’s the perfect two in one outfit every man should buy.

WE DISCUSS | FASHION. MODELLING. TATOOS+ MORE WITH LIAM.. Liam ward is far from your average looking model. Firstly his tattoos and striking signature edgy look, put him in a league of his own. Liam has carved out a career in modelling through his connections styling customers for Topshop, while still working as a sales assistant there. During one of his free styling sessions, he came across CEO of VA-G clothing, who after noticing Liam’s sense of style and look, approached Liam to model for him. “It wasn’t a case that I pursued modelling, it came to me” Working with Top Man had other perks for Liam Ward, they produced a mini advertisement and asked Liam to be their main model, and not only did it go on their website but it also but it went into selective stores across the UK. M He was also in Arena a men’s international magazine, where he was the only unsigned model who competed against signed models, and out of 25 of them he was picked. “to think that they found something in me even though I am unsigned”. he tells us. Modelling has been more of an adventure for Liam rather than a planned career choice and while he enjoys meeting new individuals, he feels modelling isn’t something which defines him as an individual. 4GHI5J8@@8

In the begining of his modelling career, he felt unsure of his looks, and felt a ‘rookie’ in the industry. After a few modleling gigs, however he’s learned to value his attributes. With VA-G clothing during his first booking, he was what you called the “newbie”, the inexperienced model and as the only Caucasian model on the shoot, he felt quite nervous, Once he accepted that his looks were different, he realised his uniquines could be used to his advantage. “As long as you stand out that’s what makes you different, it makes you “unique” and more important”. Liam he explains. He also adds not to “look at models as idols, see them as individuals”, Rather than idolising other models he’s inspired through individuals sense of style and music n Liam’s sense of style is a mixed between urban street wear, and grungy punk. He’s tattoos are inspired by his love of Travis Barker’s edgy style.. From a young age, he was exposed to urban sounds, as he recalls listening to differ-

ent genres of music, whilst growing up. “My Mum was the Reggae and Soul music lover whereas my Dad was the “Rocker”, so by fusing that together you get me. I can be slick and elegant, depending on the occasion, but I’ll always carry a bit of ruffness. My tattoos and piercings, keep my style edgy. We asked Liam if he felt his tattoos could perhaps hinder his chances of becoming a professional model; “I think my tattoo add to my image because these days there are a lot of models with tattoos, many artists carry tattoos, you just have to look at the models Levi’s Jeans use. Most designers love the whole rocker jeans look, it just looks more authentic, even John Paul Gautier are promoting tattoos now.” LIAM’S ADVICE TO OTHER ASPIRING MODELS: - Make yourself stand out, never look like everyone else. - Be yourself, because being yourself will make you go far. - You have to present you, the real you.

Sunglasses: Topman - £10.00 ‘Misfits’ t-shirt: River Island £17.99 Jeans: H&M - £24.99 Dr Martens: Office - £80.00

“ I’m a fan of the grungy look. I love tattoos and the scruffy and rough look, that’s why Travis Barker is a style inspiration to me.”

My style can be described as as very out there and bold.

Without a doubt the season we are in influences my choice of look for instance I would never wear a bow tie and high waist trousers along side a shirt in the Summer.

I am all about high street brands, including Zara and a online store called Beyond retro.

I would definitely say when it comes to style not to be not to be scared to dress out of your comfort zone. Its important you try out different styles and experiment so your able to see what suits you exactly.

Prince is my biggest icon, he inspires me greatly. not only was his music so good but he is a very unique artist that has this very afrocentric and eccentric sense of style. He also most importantly embodies confidence and ultra cool vibe. We are obsessed with her elegent style, from her quirky choice of jumpsuits to her vibrant choice of colour, twenty-two year old Somali Soul looks effortlessly elegent in everything she wears.

I have ust graduated with a Law degree, at University of Birmingham where I have

served on a part time basis for the Royal Navy Reserves.

I am still currently serving in the Royal Navy Reserves.

The 50s 60s 70s and 80s are my favourite era of fashion. I always state I wish I was born in that era.

I would also like to add that regardless what look you go for try to add some element of class into that look. You can do so buy adding basic classic jewellery or a classy bag. As Coco Channel stated, two things a girl should be fabulous and class

I love the Military look/ captain major, goth look, smart ,chic, classic and elegant minimalist look. I am greatly influenced by celebrities but I would say style wise, I am influenced by

Audrey Hepburn the most. She had soo much elegance and re-defined beauty and style in her era. Her style is literally timeless and will forever play a part in the fashion movement of any era. 4GHI5J8@F

Blogging for nearly two and a half years now, Olivia has gathered a little following that share her equal passion for fashion and photography. Her blog ‘My New Favourite Thing’ delves into a world full of quirky clothing, where Barbie dolls are style icons and trips to Paris are normal, yet still exciting! “The best thing about blogging is being able to create unedited work with no agenda. It’s all you - from the topic to the images chosen, and you have no advertisers or editor to succumb to! It’s a refreshing way of generating content that feels genuine and organic. That and the freebies.” says the Londoner, who did a masters in Fashion Journalism at London College of Fashion. “I actually started my blog when the magazine I was working on folded. I needed to have a creative outlet while I was looking for another job! It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.”

Olivia, who sites classic icons like Jackie O and contemporary cool kids like the Olsen twins as her style inspirations, admits to reading over 200 blogs regularly. “My Google reader is a life saver, although when it gets over 1000+ unread I get heart palpitations! My favourites are Wearing It Today, Style Souk, A Girl A Style and Canned Fashion. There are so many talented bloggers out there it makes it so hard to choose! Oooh, I love Man Repeller too! And the glossy superblogs like Who What Wear, Jak & Jil and The Coveteur.”

And when it comes to favourite designers, Olivia has a lot of those too! “I like Stella McCartney, Pheobe Philo, Alver Elbaz and Hussein Chalayan, Yves Saint Lauren and Halston. I really like Chloe, Jil Sander, The Kooples, Zara, Bjorg jewellery and my new favourite designer is a bonkers Frenchman called Charlie Le Mindu.”

BLOGGER ALERT

The 26-year-old fashion blogger breaks down her fashion favourites and the rise of influential fashion bloggers.

From her own personal style to her favourite designers and style inspirations, it’s clear that she knows her stuff! Diversity and unconventional trends are the in thing. “I love people who aren’t afraid of extreme glamour like Joan Collins and Anna Dello Russo, real oddballs like Little Edie from Grey Gardens. I genuinely think the best dressed people out there right now are the Fashion editors and bloggers, though - I never fail to be inspired by Christine Centenera, Miroslava Duma… I could go on!” Miss Phillips three favourite current trends? “Colour blocking, novelty/bad taste and Studio 54 glamour!” With everyone claiming to be a fashion blogger these days, it brings up the question of just how influential are bloggers (especially fashion ones)? Many have gone on to collaborating with clothing brands a la Karla Deras of Karla’s Closet and many are regularly featured in magazines and constantly invited to fashion week like Karen of Where Did U Get That, Wendy Lam of Nitrolicious and Claire Sulmers of The Fashion Bomb Daily. “You only have to look at the front row at fashion week as a barometer for how influential bloggers are at the moment, or at least how

influential they’re perceived to be. I think it’s impossible to predict what will happen in the future - look at how quickly things have changed in the past 2 years alone!” She explains, “There’s all this research to say that consumers are more likely to buy something that’s been recommended to them by a blogger as they grow to trust them like a friend, plus there’s a whole aspirational aspect to it too, as well as a representation of how something can be worn/used in the real world - it’s a real cash cow for PRs. Having said that, readers are so savvy that they’ll see through if a blogger’s getting courted by various PRs in just the same way that editorial staff are. It’s a thin line really. I’m excited to see how it will all play out!” Check out Olivia’s fashion favourites on her blog at www.mynewfavouritething.com Words Mariama Karoma

Success is | Being truly happy. Whether it

be with where you are in your career or your family life/love life or being financially stable. Anything, whatever it is that makes you as an individual happy and stress free. Happiness is key.

Best way to get into the creative industry | Go out and do what it is you want

Camera man to the stars Morgan Keyz gives us his top four tips on how to make it in the music industry.

to do. The great thing about the creative industry is you are able to be creative! There is no set way of getting into it. Follow your heart, if you feel like university is the best way to take that first step into the industry then do that, if you feel you can catch the attention of people in the industry by yourself then go do it! But remember hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Quality of your work is very important, but I challenge anyone to tell me the name of someone at the top of their game who doesn’t live, eat and sleep what they do.

How I Did It | I saved up money from two part time jobs, while I was studying at college and purchased a £2000 HD camera. It was the first HD cam Sony released to a commercial market. I hit the streets and started filming musicians and taught myself as I went along. I did this for years but growing up in the same part of London, I met Mikey from upcoming West London clothing label, Trapstar and started filming and editing their online virals, which eventually caught the eye of Jamal Edwards who offered me a job at SBTV.

What I Advice Is To | Study the people you aspire to be like, who are at the top of their game. Recognise how hard they work and then work harder than them. Also invest in yourself. I put a lot of money into my craft in the early days, without any promise of a return. If you won’t invest in yourself, you can’t expect anyone else to.

BBWLA BAMBI SPEAKS OUT ON HER ‘FAKE’ BB WIVES CAST + MORE! Interview | Mia Abdi

Nuflex | You’re obviously been introduced to the show as Malaysia’s friend. How did you want to portrayed on the show? I just wanted to be myself ... I wanted people to see the struggle my friend (malaysia) has to face as a basketball wife maintaining a healthy relationship with her real friend and realizing that some of these other women are her friends based on who she’s married to and not who she is. Nuflex | Who is your favorite wife or cast member [from BB Wives Miami franchise]? I don’t really watch Miami enough to have a favorite. However when I did watch I thought all the women on the show had their own personality and ways of doing things. I didnt have a favorite though. Would you say you have the same feisty nature as well, or do you like them because that’s them? I’m feisty ... But I’m not out of control. If I turnup .. There’s definitely a good reason. Sometimes people do things and dont think before they act. If I do something there is always thought before it and I also stand my ground. Sometimes I do stand ground for other people but thats only when I really know that something is wrong and needs to be righted. You cant make somebody see their being mistreated but you can stand and say your not going to mistreat them. Nuflex |Now that everyone is critiquing you on being on the show, are you regretful at all? I have no regrets. I remained true to myself and I don’t apologize for anything I’ve done or said on the

show. I didnt do things for people to like me or act out of character. I was the same person I’ve always been. If you knew me before the show, when you saw it you just pretty much said. well thats just Bambi. Nuflex |Can we say it’s been quite entertaining to watch “Basketball Wives LA” this season. Have you been watching the show ? I try to watch it ... It’s hard to watch when you know so many things have been edited or you know they may have left this part out here and there. But you still have to watch so that if somebody asks you about something you at least know what their talking about. Nuflex |Many of the Basketball Wives ladies have children, husbands, fiancees, boyfriends, etc. Does that affect the way you approach the show and does it bother you when people say things like “they’re too old to be acting like that”? I think that you definitely have to be conscious of your family and personal relationships because what you do does affect them. To be honest, some of them are too old to be acting the way they do. I think one people have really had a chance to see themselves on TV or see how other people react to it who are more than just your friends and neighbors it can either make you feel like you need to be conscious of how you act or you could just not care and blame it on editing, which a lot of people do. But at the end of the day you have to be responsible for your own actions. Nuflex |We’ve been watching since season one and this season, there is a lot of the same in terms of it being about Jackie… Jackie this, Jackie that. Did you all shoot other things that aren’t being shown?

Of course, we shot so much but they only show what ratings prove that people want to see. That’s why I said I try to watch the show because sometimes you dont know what is going to be added or deleted from something. There are always 3 sides to a story. How it happened, How it was edited, and what was left out. Nuflex |Your our favourite newcomer on the show, we love how you keep it real, and tell it like it is! Do you at anytime feel like any of the other ladies are ever fake, in their approach to situations? Some of them are very fake in many different situations ... It’s irksome. But sometimes the more you get to know a person the more you see why they behave the way they do. Sometimes if a person is always on the defense they don’t know how not to be. Nuflex |Do you have any close friends in the industry or on the show? Malaysia is my best friend. I know a couple people from music that I have worked with in the past before the show, so I would say they know the real me and not what you see on tv for the most part. Nuflex |Who is Bambi of the show, and out of the limelight? On this show, Bambi is Malaysia’s overprotective friend who sees right through fake and phony ... Same as I am in real life. I never hold my tongue and always stand my ground. This is what makes me continue to stay rooted and grounded. I If you meet somebody that knew me before the show they would say thats the way I act in real life and have always acted. Nuflex |How do you keep yourself in such good shape? 4GHI5J8OP

‘I don’t apologize for anything I’ve said or done’

I work out like a crazy person consistently for months ... Then I slack for months. It’s crazy. Lol But it works for me this way. Also sometimes I go on runs when Im really busy and thats exercise in itself because I’m always moving and dong what needs to be done. Nuflex |Describe your style sense to us? I just wear what I like ... What feels good and what other People are afraid of. I work out a lot so sometimes when Im able to put something on that is really nice it works for me and my figure so I have to do it. I like to be different and a lot of times different styles catch my eye here in there. I Nuflex | Any designers who your into? I stay switching it up. I like famous designers and I also like those who are unknown because 9 times out of 10 you are not going to show up somewhere with the same thing on as the next person. It will be something totally different. Plus you get a lot more freedom that way. Nobody can say oh she just wears this or that. I switch it uo Nuflex | You recently cut your hair. What provoked the dramatic change? Some days I just wake up and make decisions like that. I was just feeling like that that particular day. I said lets cut it and it was cut. It came out really cute and once again proved that I love to switch it up. Nuflex |What projects do you have in the works? :8,&")/.,-)&K0,E What Your Lecturer Will Never Advice You.. Today, I heard a fellow commuter on the train, complain whilst on a journey into work that lecturers at Universities no longer were teaching students properly. Let’s leave aside what that statement tells us about what students are thinking of this, and concentrate on how this is affecting thousands (if not more) students across England. Degrees, in some cases no longer are providing students with the necessary skills, to enter the workforce, that is according to many graduates. As a fellow graduate, I understand the frustration behind working towards a subject, sacrificing your time, energy and dedication, for three or four years, to graduate with a good degree, with no job prospect and having to claim government aide.

WORK YOUR WAY UP! I started my cleaning company at 16, and now I have offices across England. Through hard work, dedication and putting in time, I was not only able to expand my company but I have also learned more than I would have done, if I worked for a employer. Me and my friends were always into fashion and the latest clothing trends that were going on. However the gap year of having no education made me more focused on developing my interests into actual ideas. So I thought start the clothing label which I always wanted too but due to no time never really got the chance to. In addition my partner wanted to start it as as well however he was in the same situation so lack of time. So we teamed up early 2012 and decided to start the clothing label.

What inspired the name and the logo? The clothing name “young rich nation has much more meaning then it seems the name represents a whole nation of young teens and young adults with ambition and passion to do well in life. The area that me and my partner grew up in is full of young teens and seen

as were young ourselves we decided to try to make the clothing label far more than retail material but more of a movement and a unit that everyone can be part of.

How long had you been working on the line before you decided to release it and start sell- ing it We started it in February and did a lot of ground work and researching. Then we decided to release it in April.

How did you go about getting it from written ideas and drawings to the final product? Luckily enough we had a close friend that is doing his final year in design and technology. So we used to design it together and everything try to get every little detail correct. After we completed it we used to get the company to send us a sample and then edit the sample. To see which attributes we can add or takeaway from it to make it look better.

Are there a lot of people involved in the process? In decision making its just me and my partner however when it involves designs and new ideas we involve few other people to try to get the bigger picture and the public voice.

How are you dealing with your competition and others that have their own clothing line? We are good at dealing with the competitors we like to have other clothing line competing with us because this makes us stay at top of our game and motivates us to do better. Also it keeps us on our toes to try new designs and new trends in clothing.

But it must motivate or inspire you to do better? What’s the response been like so far? The response so far has been far better than we expected. A lot of people from our home town wear it to events and important times

4GHI5J8?O

this gives us a insight that the clothing means much to them. In addition as for other cities the ones that heard about we’ve received positive feedback from others still haven’t heard yet so we will try promote and expand the clothing in uk.

How have you gone about promoting the line? The promoting has been good but it could be better. However its almost impossible to stretch ourselves to every city but we been promoting it in most cities and if a city ain’t heard from us, I’m pretty sure we’ll be promoting it there soon. we have used social networks mainly and word of mouth so far.

Anyone known who has worn your label? My favourite UK rap artist wore it Joe black and the artist from east London Sketch has been supporting us from the beginning which means a lot and hopefully many more will soon come. .

Will there be any collaborations with other labels or brands in the future?

Hopefully there will but until then we are going to try expand our own brand and remain focused with that.

Give us an example if you have any collaborations. Who would you want to work with? We would definitely want to work with Ralph Lauren they are a huge brand in the retail world. I’ve always been a fan of Ralph 4GHI5J8??

polos and hopefully will one day get the chance to see my own one made by myself.

If you could design a wardrobe for any TV show or movie, which one would it be? It would definitely be “The Big Bang Theory” the show is globally watched and it would reach a large market of potential customers. a movie would probably be James Bond because that’s the image we Nuflec Mag editor rockin g the YRN bea nie! are trying to reach and the same amount of audience.

What’s next for your label? What should we be expecting of Young Rich Nation? you could be expecting something in the very near future but we don’t want to release it yet but definitely something to look out for the other thing that we are trying to work on is setting ourselves up as an Charity as well God willing , so that we have a bigger meaning then just selling clothing and gaining profit but rather find something beneficial to do with this money. we are aware of what happens in the world and would like to make a difference where we could. so yeah look out for that!!

So where do you see yourself in the next 15 years? Hopefully in the next 15 years we see ourselves with a retail shop in our home town and trying to inspire the next generation of youths in the retail world.
